Hi. Is there anyone out there that is going on the 7 day Magic on 11/30/2002??
I am a cruise virgin and I have many questions. Most importantly, will I get sick. We have an outside cabin with a balcony on deck 6. We are in cabin 6550 which appears to be pretty much midship. I have no idea if this is good or bad. Also, my son is 3 1/2 and is used to being in daycare so I don't think he will have a problem with us leaving him but do they make you take him with you if he cries initially?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
:D

Hi lruggiero!

The VAST majority of folks do not get seasick, the ships have stabilizers and unless the seas are unusually rough you don't feel much more than a gentle rocking. Are you prone to motion sickness? If so, then I would recommend taking Bonine (brand name for meclizine) before sailing and you should be fine. It does not make you drowsy.

As for your son, if he's fine with daycare he'll be fine in the Oceaneer Club. They do not make you come get him if he cries a little initially, only if he asks for you or if he cries for more than a little bit.

You will have a blast, enjoy! :)

We have room 6550 for our November 2nd cruise, and from reading a few posts it is in the perfect area! I am going to bring bonine also since I do get queasy on rides, but hopefully we won't need it!

There's a few of us on the DIS who cant wait to get on the Disney Magic Nov 30th!!!
Ive been counting down since Dec 31st when we were first able to reserve. (DVC members)
Our DS will be 10.5 but there are mostly younger kids among us. We are on deck 5 - thanks to Michelle - we managed to get a secret porthole room 5520. There is a family across the hall from us from the DIS. Hi guys! And lots of families from the DIS are on deck 6.
Some of us will be staying at the Radisson at the port the night before.

The only time that I even came close to being quesy what on the third deck walking past looking out the windows at the water. But after a couple of drinks, problem solved!:jester: My daughter loved the club. The first night when I went to pick her up, she ran into the bathroom in a cinderalla costume and locked herself in a stall. She thought that mommy wouldn't be able to come get her since her counselors weren't able to be in there with her. :teeth:

what a great cabin and verandah
(would only be better with Plexi)

the SILENT end of the hallway!
easy access to topsiders

we had some wavelets on the last nite, and the only reason we know is we heard hangars clanking together --- (we had already packed our luggage, so the hangars were empty)

lruggiero...
We too will be on your cruise. We are me (36), DH (40), DD (5.5), DS (4). There is another family with a 4 year old boy that is on our cruise. Hopefully they will all be friends, and therefore enjoy the club. Make sure that you check this board as the date gets closer, as we are sure to have a thread regarding our cruise.

Hey iruggerio,
We are on the same cruise! My son will 4yrs old on 11/30.
He is a daycare kid too. I have been talking to him about our trip
he thinks he needs to go to school on vaca. Little white lie! We thought we would take him the first day....but maybe not let him stay. Then I will have my husband drop him off other times...thats what we do at home Johnny does the dropping off and I do the picking up. Sometimes he is clingy with me. Time will tell! Someone had posted on an earlier board to get your kids in the program early because they will make their little groups of friends and it is harder to be a newcomer in the middle of the week.
Have a good day! -Laurie:)

Only 80 days to go! Yeah! I love to see your countdown, so that I can see how many more days.
The kids are very excited about the cruise, and I am really working on them, telling them about the activities in the club. My daughter loves science, so she is really looking forward to her time in the lab.

Hey Linda!
We are getting excited!!! It is so quiet here today.....its going to be very quiet all week. So it leaves me more time to dream of vacation time!
I think I am all set with clothes..did the last of my shopping this weekend. Now all that is left is the waiting!
Are you flying down Friday or Saturday?
Talk to you soon! L :sunny:
