I'm headed out tomorrow morning.

I've got a roll lugage to "carry on" with me onto the ship. It's packed with 1 Gallon of Water, 12 pack of soda and 3 bottles of wine, swimsuit, sunscreen and a camera. I'm worried about them letting me through with the beverages.

Am I going to be making a scene?

Doesn't anyone know the answer? It's not like I'm gonna be wearing a thong and toting on a BBQ grill, but I might bring my pork rinds (LOL -- just kidding). I just want beverages for the room.

Thanks.

As long as it fits through the airport-style x-ray screener, they'll let you carry it on! :)

ENJOY! :sunny:

We brought on our rolling soft-sided cooler with us on 8/17 - even got it checked in. We had soda and some wine coolers in it.

I would lose that gallon of water - you won't need it. The water on the ship - especially at the beverage station - is just fine.

We had a pull-along suitcase with 1 1/2 cases of beer in it...no problems whatsoever...we plan on doing the same thing next June!!

LAST YEAR we brough on 12 packs of soda and of beer. But the so called refrigerator in your room is far from a refrigerator more like just a box! I think it is suppose to be a cooler not actual refrig but it didn't keep anything cold or cool enough to drink. We had to ask for ice for the soda and DH gave up on his beer. Drinking beer over ice just isn't his thing. I don't know if this is typical of all refrig in all rooms but our really sucked. so we aren't going to take any drinks this time. What's the point!

I agree with the previous poster that the cooler does not really keep the beer cold enough...we brought a soft-sided collapsible cooler packed in our suitcase. As soon as we got in our room, out came the cooler and we had it filled with beer and ice. Our stateroom host kept it filled with ice the entire trip and even emptied the melted ice and water from it when needed. We had ice cold beer available whenever we wanted it (we also brought along those 16 oz. red plastic cups for the beer), and it saved us quite a bit of $$. At the end of the cruise, we had about 4 beers left and offered them to our stateroom host. He told us he could not accept them, but we left them in the room anyway...we figured someone would wind up enjoying them!! Dont' hesitate taking beer, just bring a cooler for your room!!!

If you don't already have a soft-sided cooler you can try what worked for us. I packed several of the largest sized ziploc bags and filled them with ice (very easy to get tons of ice from your stateroom host) then placed them with our cans in the "refrigerator". They did a great job of keeping things cool! Plus, you can never have enough ziploc bags on vacation anyway... great for wet suits, seashells, suntan lotion that won't leak on the rest of your things etc....
