Getting to Pin Event

Hi,

So I decided to rent a car this time to WDW. I didn't want to have to count on finding transportation to Epcot very early in the morning. My question is, what time does the parking lot open? I mean, I have heard of people waiting early in the morning for the event. I want to get there early, but really how early can I get there?

Hi, Melissa!
I assume you're talking about the Friday morning breakfast. They will probably not allow anyone through the gates until 8 am. If it is like last year, we lined up at the Int'l Gateway and they escorted groups of about 10 people at a time to the World Showplace. I'm sure the Epcot parking lot will be open in plenty of time for you to get in.
What's the benefit to getting there early? Only people registered for the breakfast will be allowed early entry.
I would try to come through the Int'l Gateway, if possible.

I hope they take more at a time this year.... And open earlier. There is twice as many going to the breakfast...

You should be able to get into the parking lot just before 7. they are doing registration for those that don't make it the night before starting at 7 at Group Sales so I would figure that is when you can do that. I kinda hope that they give us out stuff that we pre purchased then so I can run it out to the car...

Yea, that's the problem my mom and I have.. we land in Orlando just before 6 on Thursday.. guess I"ll be up at 4a Friday (yawn).

We don't land in Orlando until 11 p.m. on Thursday. Who knows when we'll get to the hotel. There's no way we're getting to early registration. I'm tired already, just thinking about it. Does anyone know what time the boats start running between the Epcot hotels and the International Gateway?

Transportation doesn't start running until 8a. you'll have to arrange your own transport earlier than that. Check on dizpins, someone there was trying to help coordinate rides and such.

a couple of weeks ago and they said buses would begin running 30 minutes before the event. I also called Event Services and they said the Int'l Gateway would NOT open early that morning and that we had to enter through the EPCOT front entrance ONLY. Anyone else who is staying at an EPCOT resort like us might want to call and confirm this, but this is what I was told. The CM said we would need to find transportation to the front of the park, since it is not possible to walk around it from the hotels.
I will be calling both sources again to confirm all this information today, because we had a terrible time last year staying at a Disney resort no less. I would like this year's event to at least begin stress free. I also read on the other board it's going to rain all weekend. We were even considering taking a taxi Friday morning to avoid all the stress of finding out where we could get into EPCOT from if we still didn't get a straight answer from Transportation and Event Services.
