OKW Minnie DISmeet on July 23rd at the main pool at sunset

It's official. There are at least 6 DISers that will be at OKW on July 23rd. We plan to meet by the main pool around sunset (6:21PM) and get to know one another. Under cover of darkness, we will then attempt to make our way into either Stormalong Bay or Luna Park (if SAB is too crowded).

There is a Magical Meeting posted over on the "old" site. Rbuzzotta and her family are planning to hang out by the pool all day on the 23rd. Hope to see you there.

We may have to rename this "Minnie" DISmeet since there are now 7 DIS families that will be at OKW on 7/23. Everyone is welcome to our sunset celebration. There may even be someone from the Swan/Dolphin DISmeet in attendance.

I sent a private message to all of the DISers who said that they would be at OKW on 7/23. A couple of you haven't yet read your messages and I guessed that you might not even know that there are private messages waiting for you. This is one of the best features of the new DIS boards. I only regret that PM's don't count towards your number of posts. Otherwise, I'd be at 2000 by now. :)

Yes just to add an International flavour we shall be there. We shall be able to spot as the Scots as a race are very pale skin. Another way of spotting is our daughter who resembles Shirley Temple with her blonde hair.

We are looking forward to meeting everyone on 7/23. Our youngest daughter just checked into her College Program apartment yesterday. She is supposed to be part of the Tapestry of Nations parade --unless they change her assignment (she'd have a conniption fit if they did.) If we can't invade SAB, we all could go to Epcot and cheer her on!! See you all soon.

What an awesome experience for your daughter (and the two of you). Bring a picture of her to the minnie meet on the 23rd and let us know what she will be doing in the parade and we will be sure to look for her. We plan on being in Epcot on the 24th!!

I want to echo Rosemary's excitement. How exciting to have your daughter in the CP and for you to be able to "visit" while at WDW. Perhaps a group of us can head over to Epcot on the 24th.

Stevie - I'll bet I'm paler than you! I am so fair skinned that I can't have a nightlight in our bedroom for fear of getting a sunburn. :) My wife and kids on the otherhand will probably be their olive-skinned selves by July. I just can hardly wait the two months until we get together.

You're right--we are so excited that she is going to be in the parade!!! She is supposed to have an "Overview of Tapestry" class on Thursday!! I can hardly wait to hear all about it!!!!! Her roomie is going to be "Alice in Wonderland". Wish I could have done something like this when I was younger. It would really be fun if she were working on the 24th and a group of us could see her. This College Program is such a wonderful experience.

Towncrier--I'll bet my skin is just as fair as yours is!!! Maybe we can have a "Who has the whitest skin" contest!!!!!!

Just a quick Tapestry update. Our DD, Kate, debuts in Tapestry tomorrow night. Her entire group of 13 Tapestry College Programers are being thrown in all at once. They had one day of choregraphy, rehearsed with puppets this morning and tomorrow morning (at 6:30am) and off they go. These must be very fast learners!!!! Kate said she almost fell over once learning to control the puppet--but another poor girl ran into a tree, got tangled up in the branches and couldn't get out. YIKES!!!! Gosh, how I wish I could be there to see this!! It is soo exciting!!

Oh, this will be so exciting - Our first Disney Meet. We will be a OKW on July 23rd. We are members at BWV but are staying at OKW and can't wait. My daughter,20, has always talked about doing the college program. Looking forward to the 23rd.

I just got an email from WOW saying that she will be able to join us at the OKW Main Pool at sunset (6:21PM) on 7/23. Pretty soon our group will rival the Swan/Dolphin DISmeet in size (if not in excitement). We leave for WDW a month from today.

I suggest that we get together at the area adjacent to checkin (Papa's Den???) and decide where to go from there. There might be a bit more room there than in Community Hall. That's great news Donna. The more the merrier. Perhaps we can discuss a couple of last minute details about the S/D DISmeet during your visit. I find myself getting more and more excited about vacation as the days pass. This is going to be the best WDW ever. We spent last evening watching videos from our friends recent cruise on the Disney Magic. And I went to the Disney Store today to pickup some 4 day park hoppers for a friend who is going to be down at WDW next week (his first visit in 15 years). And both of our kids are at camp this week. Can it get any better???

The Gurgling Suitcase is fine with us, too!! They have good burgers and great drinks . It sounds very laid back and relaxing to do things this way. Of course, we could all get together and march into Olivias and ask for seats. I'm sure we'd get a good laugh watching their reaction!! LOL!! We're looking forward to seeing you all soon!! Ditto on the safe trip. Since Rosemary failed to reserve enough chairs and tables for us around the main pool, you wouldn't mind doing that for us when you arrive on the 14th, would you? Just pile all the towels that you can find on a bunch of pool chairs and keep doing that until the CM's at OKW get the message.

Do you still want me to bring you a Plain Dealer? It might be a bit outdated by the time you get it. See you in 10 days.
