Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping over to read about my life & adventures :lovestruc My plan is to drag this out for awhile to keep the magic going from my recent trip to WDW - and being a photographer - I can promise a picture heavy TR (along with some stuff from our life too...) This is my first ever TR, so im still figuring out how to best handle the chapter link posts, etc. So bear with me! It will be worth it. The cast of characters is below, and the PTR link is in my signature.

Myself: Jessica. Im a wedding photographer in southern MA, and connoisseur of all things Disney ::MinnieMo
My Husband: Kristopher, some kind of IT specialist and consultant. He works for a major environmental company - and has recently succumb to my passion for the house of the mouse.

Just a fun pic of us for reference:
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/jk.jpg

And my new favorite. Laughing at his wife on the water taxi, taken by me on our trip earlier last month.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8830copy.jpg

My brother Eric: I usually call him Ero. He's the best & one of my most favorite people on the planet - he helped me create the DXC (Disney XTreme Challange) on one of our trips with our parents as kids. How many rides can you possibly do in a day? Take the DXC and find out. Like the amazing race for those obsessed with WDWorld. :lmao: a few pics from previous trips:

Putcha' Game Face On! DXC TIME!
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/n507201885_745808_8944.jpg

Glowtini. Booze with lights inside. I mean, really - is there anything better?
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/n507201885_2047926_3966696.jpg

Mom & Dad of course: Also known as Ellen and Jim, and the ones who started it all. Polynesian for our first trip in 1999, and Ive been a Disney snob ever since. Dont blame me, they set the standard ;) They are the best people I know.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/n507201885_32173_961.jpg

And the newest addition to the adventures, my cousin Allie: (Alsagirl) Shes almost 13, newly infatuated with princess-dom, and my current mini-me.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/P1060937.jpg

So, there you have it. Lots more info and fun stuff in my PTR as well! Im so so so glad youre here & reading  Please share your thoughts & ideas with me, as I love having the ability to share this with others.

Big Update on trip AND life -- coming right up!

The day prior to our departure was jam packed with stuff to get done. I woke up early and grabbed Ero to head over to Target for some last minute things before we left... because the best time for men to get necessities is at the eleventh hour you know. Like a science they leave the most important things to wait for the last "ohmygoditstimetogo, thecarisrunninginthedriveway" moment. /sigh. I left the house with my husband packing, to get into a car with my brother scratching his head trying to make list on his cell phone of "junk I need" while I drove.

After that, I left Eric to pull tags off of a few clean TShirts and socks & head back home (we live 5 mins away from eachother) to see if Kris was ready to go. Sure enough, he was all (over)packed and ready to go. We stacked the suitcases in the living room and had just enough time to put the Magical Express tags on before Allie & her mom were pulling into my driveway. From there, the rest of the night was a whirlwind: I ended up painting Allie's nails and gluing rhinestones in the shape of Mickey Heads on her ring finger. It wasnt bad for a first attempt if I do say so myself!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8504.jpg

Then we brought her over to my parents place- where we all gulped down some Pizza and griped about trying to sleep for a 4am wakeup call. Sure enough, no amount of Sportscenter or reading could get me to sleep.... Bah. Finally, around midnight-ish- I was out  dreaming Main Street dreams until 4am. At which time, I was awake & clinging to promises of Disney and Coffee if I'd just stumble into the car. One hour, 3 Dad-Phonecalls & a heated front seat nap later - we were at Greene Airport in Providence. There are Starbucks at Greene airport. Can I get an AMEN?! Baggage claim was a breeze, we beat my parents & Allie there, so I grabbed a few photos.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8500.jpg

See the Magical Express Tag on my pink suitcase?! After this past experience, im calling it Miracle Express. This is the best service ever. BYYYEEEE Suitcase!
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8501.jpg

This hilarious image is my brother on the right, and Kris on the left. Yes, wearing matching flannel. YES to fly into 85 degrees. Why? Because they were going to the Wilderness Lodge.... and wanted to look the part. I cant make this stuff up.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8505.jpg

Using the Magic & Power of the internet, im going to jump ahead in time to landing at MCO. You're not really missing anything, just me watching TV on my ipad (real housewives & Glee if you must know... ;) ) and had this for scenery for 3hrs:
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8506.jpg

if you read my trip report, you'll recognize this sleepy posture from trips prior:
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/P1060944.jpg

That cannot be comfortable.

Okay - so Miracle Magical Express Time. No bags to claim and a luxe bus waiting to play me a movie and take me home? Rough life I've got here.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8907.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8910.jpg

Headed off into the Wilderness! Maybe I should have worn that flannel...

So, once inside the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge - I'll confess I did not stop to take pictures. (Fret not, I did later!) I grabbed Allie and ran her straight to the center of the lobby, while Kris stood in line for Check-In. Just then, the first bit of crazy Pixie Dust happened....

Kris and I were assigned the EXACT same room that my family and I were in on our second trip to WDW. We know this because my parents are as enthusiastically obsessed with Disney as I am, and have copious notes to prove it. Room 4151 was our room then, and was assigned again to us now - over 10 years later. I can now say, I have a 'usual' room at the Lodge. ;) Cant I?!? Mom & Dad's adjoining room with bunkbed for Allie wasnt clean yet, so we headed up to check out the room and at least drop the bags... I took a few photos on this journey to the room at least!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8814.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8815.jpg

Apparently I was stuck on the lighting at this point - who knows.

After that, rather than cramp all of us in one hotel room, we made tracks (heh heh) for the Roarin' Fork! In no time, we were experiencing the Dining Plan for the first time (LOVE by the way) and I was taking this photo as fast as I could before tearing into this little beauty:
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8913.jpg
Eric and Kris ended up with Giant blocks of chocolate cake, which I bet Ero a dollar he couldnt finish.... which of course he did.

"Text Message Received: Your Room Is Ready!" Sweeeeet Drop that stuff, get your shorts and lets go to Hollywood Studios! Allie & Mom had their pins on before the bags hit the ground - and we were off to Hollywood Studios. (Is there anyone out there who still says "MG...ImeanHOLLYwood Studios...."?) Great Movie ride was a nice trip through some Air Conditioning :thumbsup2 and we were seated at the 50s PrimeTime Cafe. Our waiter was absolutely hysterical and immediately zeroed in on Kris. Twice the entire section had to yell "Naughty, Naughty, Naughty Cousin Kris" and "Cousin Kris.... Shame, Shame, Shame." Once for something I cant remember, another for trying to tattle tale on me for not finishing my green beans. Mom has a photo of him standing in the corner holding a napkin up with his nose.... it was AMAZING and totally worth it, and I will forever say "Kris.... Naughty! Shame, Shame." Cant wait for THAT flip out to come when he finally has enough :rotfl: Ill post that pic for you later tonight.

For the record: I had fried chicken for dinner. Kris had steak and humility.

After dinner the family headed back to the resort, and Kris and I waited in line for Toy Story Midway Mania. It was listed as a 90 minute wait, but in only 42 minutes we were seated on the ride. Yes, we really did get that intense on timing it to the minute. Excellent ride, and the air cannons coupled with 3D made me lose it laughing... which caused me to really blow it and miss out on a ton of points... so I abandoned reason and stopped trying to win, and tried to sabotage Kris from getting any MORE points. It was a 5 Star, must do again.

We're off to sleep - tomorrow is a Magic Kingdom day & promises more fun & hilarious antics.... stay tuned - Ive got a life update coming at'cha too before we get there!

<3 Thanks for reading

Just a quick life-update for fun, since Im on a real update-rampage this afternoon!

First: I got a call from my mom this morning - they opened the new Times Square Disney Store today, and there was a feature on Good Morning America. It was a great highlight, and looks like I'll have to make sure I stop in sometime soon. I think Emma (DisneyBarbie) is heading to NYC soon - so if you're reading this girl - you should check it out!!

Click here for the link to the video highlight Disney NYC (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/disney-opens-store-times-square-york-12096071)

Other than that Ive been winding down on photography. Wedding season is coming to a close, and I shot a few more weddings & engagement shoots before it got really brutal cold up here. Just in time to come home to I guess :scared1: Bah Humbug.

But, in between shooting and mourning the return from a Disney trip- I painted my home office! It used to be this really nasty burnt red color. We bought the house over a year ago, and the family that lived here had a ton of Baseball stuff and computer junk in here - and it was really dark and kind of oppressive. So finally, after a long time waiting - Mom and I painted it so I could brighten it up and claim it as my office. We painted it Eeyore's Raincloud from the Disney Behr paint collection and I love it. Its bright and Ive been working on fun girly details to go inside it. I figure while Im Disney planning or Photo Editing, Ill be in a nice feminine zen place :) Check out a few of my favorite details from the room so far:

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_9090.jpg

Fun, right?! Wait until you see the final before and after's.... pretty big change!

Lastly: Kris quit his job! This is great news, because his job and boss were really killing him and he wasnt being treated (or compensated) fairly... but, before we left on our trip - he heard from a great company here in MA and they offered him a really fantastic position at their company in their IT department. This is a great chance for us, and exciting times ahead! His last week at his old job is this week - then he's off to Indiana to visit family for a week... in which ill be so bored and lonely ill be living on the boards ;) And then he starts up after that!

Big Stuff! Back to the Dis after this.... hope you're having a great week!

Love your TR so far.

I have to say, I call it MGM all the time still. Just can't get Hollywood Studios into my head.

Fun stuff! Can't wait for more! Love your office! ANNNND... Love that you have a Mac. Oh yeah... my hubby totally got me into it!
Oh I'm all Mac now. iphone, ipad, ipod, imac ;) It started out with the computer (a photographers staple in life) and its branched out. Could never go back!! Im sending you digital Mac-HighFives right now ;)

I really love this TR so far, and I am super jealous of your new home office! So awesome!

:lovestruc Thank you so much, Im touched that someone is loving it as much as I'm loving writing it. I keep thinking of my little stories and one liners like two days in advance.... cause im a tremendous nerd like that. Im really glad you're here & keep sharing --

Hey Lady - good to hear from you :) Best way to procrastinate is to get sucked into disboards... Ive gone on for "just five minutes" and looked up to see that its been forty. Yikes. Either way, psyched to have you here & checked in! ;) lol - Im constantly checking out your updates too!!!

Love your TR so far.

I have to say, I call it MGM all the time still. Just can't get Hollywood Studios into my head.

My brother and I had an extreme Disney challenge of our own once. Ours was can we go on all of our favorite attractions in all four parks in one day? We did it once. It was rough!

See?! Im telling you, its actually a really fun challenge right? Even just to say you did it. I think we skipped hall of presidents and things like that because it would just slow us down (I know, doofuses that we were - would have been nice to take a 20min break in AC). And im glad to know that a safe-place exists for my "MGM" habits ... Im not sure CMs like it very much!

Ok, first of all - LOVE THE TITLE!

So excited you began your TR and cant wait to read more! We, also, left in a cab at 4 am for our trip!

There you are! I missed you woman, glad to know youre back safe & I cant wait to read about your trip! How did he like his personalized gifts?! Did you already fill your owners locker?! Kris's last day of work is TODAY and the man is practically prancing around the house. Me? Ive got a client meeting, two hours of editing, and a Christmas party to plan.

... wanna take bets on how many hours I procrastinate on disboards instead?!?

Thanks for the love everyone - It really is awesome to share stuff like this with you! :cloud9: Hope you have a great Friday - and ill have a serious MK update for you no later than Sunday.

There are no rules on red and green... and stepping into my new home office, im thinking of re-writing the laws of XMas Decor in my little corner of girl-dom at our house. Im thinking... no... *dreaming* of a http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/536397dgj9ef6ron.gif PINK http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/536397dgj9ef6ron.gif Christmas!

Below are a few ideas and inspirations... Tell me what you think and add your own! Id LOVE to have them ;) Im starting to think of ways to incorporate mickey heads and disney into tasteful holiday decor. Has anyone done this or working on it for this year?

Anyways...I think this is the picture I came across that started the fuchsia freight train

This pic also hooked me in with its bubble gum colors... I even found a how-to guide online to make them myself. (And by myself I mean with mom and Allie of course....)
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/pink_christmas_ornaments_by_amyr.png

I also found this little beauty at Target today, and added a little extra pixie dust of my own ;) Yes, its blurry and low-res... dont judge me. :rotfl:
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/P1070127.jpg

I know I have to get to writing my update for Monday, our first full day and MK day - but I was overwhelmed by stress these last few days (Hectic weekend, Kris is having a recurring headache that we're getting checked out at a Dr. tomorrow AND hes leaving for a few days Wednesday, on top of which the first floor of our house smells like paint and my car is at the dealership for two days.... bah! :confused3 ) so I needed a bit of a 'think happy thoughts' breather. That being said, I wanted to share a few teaser pics from MK just for fun & to keep you interested of course! Im off to climb into bed with my cat, and this guy who came home with us
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8517.jpg

Then, while Alsagirl was cracking up, I caught a little picture of myself just for fun in the reflection of her sunglasses
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8589.jpg

Sometimes - Eric and Kris like to pretend they're pirates. (mostly when I throw hats at them and force them to look tough. Kris's response is apparently "Pirate Elvis" but ill take what I can get...)
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8662.jpg
Note the sweet Boston TShirt! lol

And finally - I hope you all find rest tonight and dream sweet dreams of Main Street.... sans my brothers tall shaved head in the bottom left corner. -- you know... of your dreams ;)

Fun updates Jessica!

Love the pictures of the WL so far and can't wait to see more. My DH and I really wanted to check out the lodge after one of our MK days, but the boys were not interested in heading over. It looks amazing!

Great Boston shirt- it's wicked pissah!

About MGM-DHS. A cast member seriously reprimanded a friend a couple of years ago about calling it MGM "It's Hollywood Studios now!" Well, I think as recently as this year, something I received from Disney still called it MGM- some kind of map or something. I wish I could remember what it was. But I thought- they must have a drawer full of these things to use up.

I was thinking of what Id like for Christmas this year... and Im considering asking for a Cricut machine. Does anyone have one or use one? Id love to hear some feedback on which machine and cartridges are best and your thoughts...

We got her the Cricut Personal

Hi Jessica, I'm here & I love your TR
Your pictures are awesome & I love the one of your DH laughing!
Now, I feel sort of intimidated posting my crappy pictures .

Your office looks beautiful, great job! :flower3:

Thanks so much! Im flattered you like my photos so much, it means a lot to me. Sometimes I just snap away, but others I work hard to frame the shot - so its nice to hear the compliments on the work ;) PLEASE dont be shy about posting pics, I love the silly ones in your TR right now - I can always spot Levi with his fluffy hat! :goodvibes Besides, some of the best loved (and genuine) shots are caught when no one knows theres a camera...

Congrats on Kris' new job. Sounds like a great change.

You my friend are whats called, an enabler... and I LOVE it. Ill forever call it MGM and even if I get the stink eye from CMs - Ill know im not the only one, and theres no need to feel embarrassed. If you ever get the chance, get over to the WL even if just for a meal. They have a dining room thats practically right inside the lobby where you can sit and eat and enjoy the huge grandeur of the lobby and music. Im sure my family and I will be traveling here for years - so maybe our paths will cross inside someday!

LOVE the pictures!! I need you to come be my personal photographer for everything please :rotfl: Cannot wait to read more

I have to admit I am not much of a girly girl when it comes to the color pink...but some of those Christmas decorations were beautiful and I LOVE the wreath/door hanging :goodvibes

Thanks doll! Ill take pictures for you anytime! Ive left my logo watermark off of the images, so print them out and take credit for them to your friends!! HA :rotfl: glad you love them, im humbled.

Decorated the office for Christmas, and mom brought over a giant bubble gum pink surprise... youre probably gonna hate it - but check it out when I post it!! lol I'll think of you :)

I love the tinker dress ornament &
I love PINK for Christmas!

<3 TY! I found it at the target. They had Cinderellas dress, Belles dress & Tinkerbell.... this was the coolest one, and came with her glittery wings!! (Strange I guess, its not like she takes those off...)

I have always wanted one...but really don't have the time to use it. We bought MIL one for Mothers Day because she was using one in her crafting group to make cards, etc...she loves hers...

Thanks - Ive been cruising Amazon and getting lost. There are also lots of black Friday deals I might try and get online? Not sure im up for wrestling my way into Wal*Mart at 3am....

Where on earth did you find those beautiful office supplies?

Thank you! If its any help: The bouquets sign is from HomeGoods. Cinderella "believing" sign is from Hallmark's Disney Gifts collection, glitter hearts & vase are Kate Spade, Disney Princess book is from (where else?) World of Disney, INStyle weddings was a gift when I started shooting weddings, but you can amazon that bad larry..... lets see what else is there? Flowerpot is Mackenzie Childs, Hand Lotions are all Lollia (you can find them in anthropologie) Rhinestone frames are from the boutique my mother works at (PM me if you want the info to buy them) Pink Pens ive collected along the way ;) and the pink container they're in is actually a flower pot I found in Boston (super cheap!)

Thats probably TMI - but I hate seeing something and falling in love with it, only to be told I cant have it or find it! There are more office pics coming... so let me know if you want more info!

I have a Cricut Expression and I love it! I use it almost everyday for scrapbooking, decorations and my son has used it for school projects.

Love this trip report and the beautiful photographs!

Thank you for your kind words! Glad youre enjoying them - I hope they bring a little Disney magic to all of us addicts sitting at home counting days!

The Cricut Expression is actually the one I was looking at... WalMart has a great black friday deal on it. Where do you usually buy your cartridges? Ill probably pick you brain for craft ideas once I get one :) Thanks!!

I agree! I love love LOVE my cricut expression.

WooHoo!! Thats a good testament. Okay, wishlist it is. Thanks Kris! :lovestruc Going to have to start carving out a name for myself on DISign board I guess....

Okay- posting Monday pics and some office updates before I finish too much coffee... stay tuned.

Okay - back to the TR. I took a million pictures, so Im trying to pick my favorites and finding it very difficult... so youre stuck with too many rather than too few. Besides, if the stories are boring or you are one of those lurkers who just power-scrolls through text to get to pics - youre in the right place :)

There. Is. NOTHING. Like waking up in Disney. Knowing that youre about to start your day by strolling into the land of magic and happiness, balloons and rice krispies, laughing and princesses. The best days have to start with the best breakfasts... so bright and early I woke up and crept out of bed (I had attempted to 'accidentally' wake DH with my impatient tossing and loud sighing... C'maaaaan, youve done it too!) then slipped over to the room Mom, Dad & Allie were staying in. Mom was on the balcony, so I grabbed two quick shots of the sunrise on WL when Al & Dad popped out of the door with breakfast across from the pool....

So, after a little frosted flakes and coffee - mom pulls out a box. SURPRISE  Halloween Decorations for the rooms! The box is FULL of window clings, paper decorations, light up Mickey pumpkin and ghost, glowstick bracelets, temporary tattoos, and CANDY! Trick or Treat - yes I WILL have some of those M&Ms while I spookify our door! Heres the slider and the paper lantern hanging outside. You could see it from the pool!!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8636.jpg

wait till you SEE how cool a few pics I took in here came out. Ill upload them after this, I think my photobucket is on overdrive..

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8687.jpg

So after this it was like time to put the camera down and have some fun :) We did a straight shot of Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear (I lose EVERY time.) Philharmagic, and ItsASmallWorld - which, in all its kinda creepy glory was a nice break from the heat.

We headed over to Pinocchio's Village Haus for lunch, and managed to find a table outside that would seat all 6 of us - a small miracle in and of itself really... however I will say the Dining Plan is the way to go. Im beyond pleased with how it turned out, and anxious to hear about the changes theyre making in 2011...

Anyway, grabbed a quick action shot of Big Thunder while we were in line to ride. Im sorry if youre actually in this one, but its a cool shot!!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8708.jpg

.... Lots more coming. Ive got those confectionery shots to show you, more Halloween - stories of being soaked on Splash Mountain, and bullying the boys into Pirate Hats. Pink Christmas too!!

It might just be me on Buzz...but my fingers feelings like they are going to fall off by the end and I hardly get any points :rotfl:

We really loved the dining plan too...I am trying to convince dbf to return next year for another trip, but we cant decide between Halloween time (possibly free dining again!) or early December :confused3

Dear DISFamily: Please forgive the lateness. Kris had been having those headaches and was scheduled for an MRI last week. After sitting on pins and needles and 4 Doctors later - he's fine. Thank God. Its just a tedious muscle in his right shoulder where his spine and neck meet (or some shenanigans) and he needs to take care of it. Now, in all my concern - there I am, trying to read in the lobby of the MRI unit inside Cape Cod Hospital in Falmouth... and out he comes

Technician: Youre all set, kept nice and still and we should have the results in 5 days or less
Kris: Can I see it?
Technician: Excuse me? See what?
Kris: My brain. The pictures you just took of my brain. Can I see 'em?
Technician: No. Sorry.... (I know, Miss Personality, right?)
Kris: Really? Even if theres no tumors or anything I cant see it?
Me: KRISTOPHER RICHARD! REALLY rightnow?!?!
Kris: C'maaaaaan
Technician: No.
Me: I already know he has a big head, you dont need to show me how big his brain is.
Kris: Its huge. Thats why I cant see it. If I did they'd probably have to call NASA and offer me a job since my brain is so big and powerful.
Technician: *giggling* Of course sir, its a very very big brain. Goodnight.

So - after all the stress, we did get the results and smarty pants McGee is fine. Hes still trying to find a loophole to view his brainscan.... im uploading pics to photobucket :) Big thanks to Heather for checking in on us. It was beyond expected and made me cry at the studio today. I am shocked and touched each day by the people that share their love and lives with me in this place. Thanks Walt ;)

Thanks sweet girl! It truly never gets old, and it makes me bashful every time I hear it. I shoot to capture emotion and memories as much as anything else - so it absolutely makes my day to know that ive shared that with others. <3 For the record, Id shoot for early Dec for your trip - imagine all the twinkle lights and sweet romance of Main Street during Christmas. Did you see the special on HGTV? Behind the Magic, Decorating Disney World for Christmas? Gotta check it out, it was on this Monday and I think you can find it on demand.

So we're in Magic Kingdom - we've claimed our table @ Pinocchio's - eaten our first of one million chocolate cake cups (you know the ones...) and have decided to wander around for a few minutes - get in some last minute attractions - then head out to get to Boma for dinner. Just for fun Ive picked out a few more inconsequential MK pictures for your viewing pleasure - so enjoy these then ill get back to the story...

This one is a little blurry, my reaction time was too quick to grab the pic, and didnt change my settings :( so its not exactly winning any awards - but still a fun shot of Eric waiting to board Big Thundaaa'

Ok- so we head off Main Street and take our water taxi back to the Wilderness to get ready for dinner.... at this point we realize two things 1) How the heck are we going to GET to dinner? 2) We have vastly underestimated our timing and we're going to be late.

So- in a gaggle of 6 (One Dad- blazing the trail, My brother and Husband slapping cow-bells on the way to the bus stop, and Mom, Allie & I fighting over one lip gloss like it was the last one on earth) we climb into the AK bus, do the dinner reservation shuffle, and make it to Animal Kingdom Lodge..... in the WRONG spot. All I heard was "Something Kidani Simba Jambo LittleRed POOAACHHAAS ...youre in the wrong place" So we hop in the van. Van-Man gives us a fantastic break down of the AKL and laughs at our antics. We are now 45 minutes late to dinner, and I realize I have no camera.

Commence Pouting :faint:

Regardless, dinner was fantastic. The food (as most of you know) is to DIE for, and we sat around as long as we wanted laughing and chatting. The drink refills kept coming and no one ever pressured us to move along and open the table. This was an A+ dining experience, and one we will definitely do again. We did a little more shopping on Main St. after dinner - then finally collapsed into bed at the Wilderness. We had a big day of hidden Mickeys on Typhoon Lagoon Tuesday!!!

Sounds like lots of family enjoyment at the MK.

LOVE Boma!!! I think that is my favorite Disney restaurant. We had dinner there in July 2009 and last July. My only complaint is that they have too many offerings- I want to sample everything, and then end up rolling out of the restaurant. Breakfast there is great, too!

A CD?! How fantastic is that?! I told him, and he is now on the hunt for who to call to get it. He wants to see his brain pretty bad- I wouldnt be surprised if he makes it his desktop wallpaper. Dork ;)

The Map is underneath the Train Station stairway. It was really quiet down there and had a really cool antique feel, great for snapping a few pics with less crowd. There are a few more I took down there ill post as well.

Hi Jessica~

Finally catching up here on DIS, been MIA some lately. Life gets in the way of DIS sometimes! :guilty:

Loving your updates! You have a way with words and pictures girl! :cutie:

So glad to her Kris is doing well and is okay! Scary!!

Hope you're staying warm, it's really been chilly here in town these last few days!! BRRR!!!

It IS chilly around here :sad1: That cold rain didnt help either. Im so glad youre liking the pictures, and I hope laughing along the way too :rotfl:

**Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and concern for Kris. Everyone kept telling me it wasnt a big deal - but somehow when youre talking about your own it seems like a much bigger issue to tackle. I cant express to you how nice and comforting it is to at least have people to sympathize with. :lovestruc It meant more to me than you know.

Enjoy your Saturday afternoon - and if I dont botch these craft attempts too bad ill show you what I end up with! :flower3:

And that fluffy pink wreath is fabulous. princess:

Hi All - Im back in action and ready to upload some new photos for your viewing pleasure. I hope everyone had a fantastic Holiday and welcome start to the new year... I certainly did. I have some big and fun life updates, but Ill share those AFTER we get back to the trip. Disney comes first this morning...

We left off leaving Boma and heading back to the room for some sleep. Tuesday was Typhoon Lagoon day! Ill admit- Typhoon Lagoon is AMAZING and beautiful and phenomenally fun. But giant waterpark + expensive camera = no pictures. Please forgive me. We had a great time. I turned into a 5 year old all over again. I was barreled over in the giant wave pool and couldnt tell which end was up. Next thing I know, my mother reaches into the water with her mom-instinct and pulls me out by my elbow. Needless to say, she and Allie were ROARING laughing, and I was embarrassed and laughed right along with them  Kris and Dad bodysurfed over and over again. That wave pool has got to be my highlight for the day. We will DEFINITLEY be doing that again. Lazy river was great too--- all in all, its a dont miss park. If you havent been, you should really consider it on a hot day. And while we were there in October, it was PERFECT. Not too crowded at all, and still hot in the sun. 5Stars for you, Typhoon Lagoon.

After Typhoon Lagoon we didnt actually make it to Downtown Disney, as we had originally planned. Instead we had TOO much fun and stayed at the water park. Then headed for moms big surprise dinner at Ohana!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/sign.jpg

Dinner was fantastic, as always. A family favorite not to be missed.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/ohana.jpg

And after the meal, they brought out Moms big fancy birthday cake that Dad ordered! Mary Poppins from the Grand Floridian bakery. Practically Perfect in Every Way!! Mom was SO shocked and loved it. We even brought it back to our room for later...

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/cake.jpg

Finally, I just can NOT get through a whole day without some shopping. So I headed to an old favorite- the BouTiki inside the Poly to try and find some fun things with Al. I almost bought the black patent leather fitflops, but they didnt have my size. Instead I ended up being silly inside the giant mirror, and I think Allie got some pins for her lanyard...

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/girls.jpg

:earsboy:::MickeyMoNow, I cant live with myself without a post and photos. Ive also been a DisBoards deadbeat for coming up on two months :guilty: Im unsure if anyone is still reading... So- to get back in your good graces, Ive got tons of Epcot pictures coming up. Ill do one or two posts of pics from that this morning, and throw in a life update so you know and see what ive been up to. (teaser: we got a puppy!) :earsboy:::MinnieMo

Bright and early, we're on the bus for another Disney adventure. We (much like you all) Start some park days at the crack of Holy Dawn. There are times where Im so thankful to have an arsenal of Disney Tshirts for the main reason that I dont have to match an outfit together that early. Pull one out in the dark with shorts and youre good to go. Eric noticed this little sign on the bus ride over to Epcot, and we tried to decipher what it means, and what people from other countries may think. See if you can come up with something funnier! :lmao: Our ideas are below

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/hotdog.jpg

No Smoking. No Hotdog Soda. No Evil Robots.
No Firesticks. No Lunch. No 40s Radios.
No Ciggarettes. No Hotdog Water. No 8 Tracks.
--Seriously, you'd think they'd be a little more specific. Either way, it was too early- and I was laughing too loud for the others on the bus :rotfl:

Okay Wednesday is tackle Epcot day. My DH being the Soarin enthusiast that he is, blazes a trail to The Land.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/soarin.jpg

Standard Kris is take all the park tickets for the group, walk as fast as I possibly can to get fast passes, then get in line to standby wait for our first ride of the day. Knowing the second time is gravy. We also go back and forth waiting for the Patrick Warburton video to start. I can only see him as Joe on Family Guy... "These little beauties"

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/concourse.jpg

After that, we head for the World Showcase. I was SO excited for the Food & Wine festival! I grabbed a cute pic of Mom and Dad holding hands in front of the display.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/hands.jpg

Then, not to be outdone, the boys struck some epic poses is front of the water show from Futureworld.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/Boys.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/epic.jpg

I think Photoshop adds a little more EPIC to the image ;) But theyre pretty manly and hilarious as it is.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/foodwine.jpg

And of COURSE we didnt forget Alsagirl. Kris started making faces in her sunglasses so we could catch his reflection... but she couldnt stop laughing! Then he made scary noises to go with his crazy faces, and it led to this sequence of fun:

So as promised, heres a sneak peek of our new Puppy, Sawyer. We found him from a rescue in Arkansas and they trucked him all the way up to New England with a Puppy Rescue company. Hes a great addition to the house. Sydney is less than pleased... but all in all its great. Im sorting through more pics and uploading-- so I have something to do instead of watch the Superbowl! Sawyer says thank you. He lost his first puppy tooth this morning. It was more of an 'adventure' than I anticipated. Your wedding plans are looking amazing, Emma. The attention to detail is so obvious in everything you're doing- its making me jealous. I still cannot WAIT to see the pictures! Any updates on your trip from December cooked up yet??

I for one, am glad you took a hiatus from the DIS. I wouldn't have found your TR otherwise. Great pics (my DH is an avid amateur photographer and loves your shots-they have given him ideas for our next trip)

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much! Im VERY very lucky to do something I love so much. Its easy to bring my camera along after wedding season and have an eye for details and the like. Im actually in the process of replacing my camera for this coming season- so expect BETTER pics from my next trip. If people seem interested, ill post some highlight pictures from my life and work too. Just dont want to be overwhelming! Maybe ill come up with a few ideas today... hhhmmmm

Pennydoooooggg!! :goodvibes Sent you a hilarious link to some dog-laughter. My DH could not breathe when he read it last night. Really funny stuff. I am SO living vicariously through your PTR for this coming May. I cant wait to hear about DVC experiences.

And for the record: Typhoon Lagoon is a 5 star. FANTASTIC experience. Very clean and great staff - and I laughed all day. Spent the entire time there without ever feeling bored or like Id seen it all already.

Jessica, great report so far. Sawyer is beautiful. You are a great photographer, getting lots of ideas from you pictures for our next trip. Thanks. Can't wait for more to come...:cool1:

Otherwise Id be a crazy person with ONE shoulder looking like a football player from all the gear, and having junk for shots to show for it

Im glad youre here!

~Okay, Im off to the studio today for awhile- hoping NOT to get snowed in. Ive got more fun pictures Ill upload tonight from Epcot, and some from a Disney Dinner Party my mom put together with me. Thanks! Such nice things to say... anyone can steal any ideas, theyre pretty basic. Just a twist on some wedding snaps and details ive learned doing what I do. Id be glad to explain anything, too - should you need it. Photopass does a great job, dont get me wrong, but I think they do it so long day in and day out - its nice to have a little variety, and catch some details rather than the cursory "hands out in front of the castle!" and "Smiling self-paparazzi shot"

However... come to think of it.... how HISTERICAL would it be to do a self paparazzi/myspace face pic with princesses? Best facebook pic ever. Add it to the list!

Also: Breakfast Fetchers? I laughed out loud. Im officially stealing that word. Thanks- and SO glad to have you! xo

Morning! :yay:

Just a fun life-update. My parents are heading over to Orlando in March with a couple they've known for years. (Thats correct, as in, WITHOUT ME. The tragedy... the horror)

Im actually very excited for them, and the couple they're going with has never been before. So, to christen their new-ness to all things Dis, my mother did what any enthusiast would do- throw a fantastic dinner party to start planning their vacation. I broke out my Cricut and got to work. We decided on making faux Mickey Ears out of paper, complete with names "embroidered" on the back. Then put together a little travel package for things they may need. Inside the takeout boxes were hand sanitizer, chapstick, tissues, luggage tags, park maps, etc. I think they came out pretty fantastic - and wanted to share with you!

Their side of the table:

Front of Mickey Ears placecard:

Back of Mickey Ears placecard: (instead of stitching, I just wrote the letters on in paint pen in dashes like stitches from the machine)
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/back.jpg

Fun! And so easy.

Also, many of us here in New England have been lamenting over the 'Snowmageddon' or 'Snowpocalypse' thats happening here this year. Im sick of it myself, but not exactly crying that its the end of days. Either way, we took the dog for a walk this weekend and I wanted to show you how big the snowbanks were at the front of our house. (dont judge me, theyre low-res)

Good Morning, and Happy end of February Vacation Week. As cantankerous as this sounds, we can again resume going out to dinner and entering a shopping area without fear of the 9,647,463,022 children dominating the space during school vacation. I actually almost blasted off to Mars this week in line for Starbucks. A gaggle of Neon sweatshirts, rhinestone ipods, sunglasses inside & all were 4 girls ahead of me in line, texting and complaining about Venti Frappuccinos with Whip. OMIGOD. ITS 7AM, PLEASE. WALK. AWAY.- I NEED COFFEE BEFORE I DIE RIGHT HERE IN LINE AND NEVER MAKE IT TO THE STUDIO, YOUR CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKES CAN*NOT BE THIS IMPORTANT.

Again I beg.... dont judge me :rolleyes1

Okay- so we ventured past the Food & Wine displays on our way to the World Showcase when we last caught up. Now, as any of you in attendance for F&W Fest know, there is alcohol aplenty. Almost as if each country feels like if they cant send you away full & satisfied - buzzed and giggling will do. Which brings me to the theme of Epcot Day: Beer O'Clock.

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/beer.jpg

Okay- thats a gross exaggeration... however, there were many in attendance that day who took FULL advantage of the Beer Cornucopia. Eric, Dad and Kris tried several different kinds - while Mom & I waited for the Grey Goose Slush. It was SO hot on this day, so it was no shock when all the drink stands were crowded. We break left towards Mexico (never ones to follow traffic patterns) and we were off. Once inside, Eric had read about a Tequila seminar being offered inside the Mexico Pavilion. Wanting to learn more, he decided to hang back and see what it was like - and offered to meet back up with us in a bit. This would be a defining moment in my brothers drinking career. Remember him staying behind ;)

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/Mexico.jpg

Norway? Today, it was more like Snoreway... so lets pin shop!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/Pins.jpg

We had passed through Norway and almost through China when my cellphone rang. Eric was done and would meet me outside Germany. So as I waited out front for him, Dad and Kris grabbed another beer while Alsagirl romped around the town square area.

Now: Enter scene Eric. Giggling and looking to make sure Mom & Dad were nowhere near us for the following convo. I *WISH* I could remember everything, but here is the dialogue as near as I can get it:

E: Jess.... JessJess.... I was the only one.
Me: What?
E: I was the ONLY ONE to show up for the Seminar. There were 4 real Mexican dudes, and I was the ONLY one there - so they closed the door to the bar.
Me: Omigod.
E: They were all like "Hey Essay- you want to know how to make my madre's Tequila mang?" and they told me all the different ways and who does what and why its so strong and the worm was added by us and not by them they would never taint tequila and they gathered around and wanted to make it fun for me so i wouldnt leave and they were all like "Pour the Tequila mang, he's gonna leave if we dont let him try eeet" and then they had me try all.....
Me: Wait wait wait wait
E: Jess I didnt want to disrespectful the heritage (now hes starting to lose the cohesive speech) and they poured it as gifting to me *giggling
Me: Omigod. Do you need a pretzel?
E: It was supposed to be just a bit - but I was the only one, so I got full shots. A whole Ski full.
Me: Wait. The flight over Mexico?
E: No Jess, THEFLIGHTOVER TIIIJJJUAAAANNNAAAAA AAAHAHAHAHAHAAH
Me: Wait. Youre confused
E: 6 Shots and a DOSEQUIIIIIS. I was the only one there, they wanted to show me a fiesta. I was the ONLY one who even showed up.
Me: Of course.
E: Giggling. I got this. Best Epcot day ever.

That all being said- I give Eric a world of credit. Aside from a few extra giggles he was never that gross stumbling idiot. He had a pretzel with me in Germany, another beer, and we were off to Via Napoli for lunch. He left with a little bit of a buzz - and one of the best stories ever from Epcot. Him and his four Amigos in the Tequila bar. In Disney World.

Lets hit Italy for lunch, shall we?

To start Lunch, Eric had the beer, Mom had the Lemon Drop, and I had the fresh Bellini:

Lunch was so amazing, I forgot to take pictures of the giant ovens. Lame, I know. However- coming from my Italian Heritage- the Arancini is NOT to be missed. I almost asked for some to go.

Across the water from Italy:

Perfect timing to head to the American Adventure. Our most favorite display of all, the Fife and Drum. Its a family favorite, and we all stand around very reverently and appreciate the show, as well as the respectful remembrance announced at the end. I snapped these in an effort to try and capture the emotion. I hope you enjoy them:

We rounded out our Epcot day with a trip inside Japan for Alsagirls Pick a Pearl. She ended up (I believe) with a pinkish 7mm that fit perfectly in her carriage necklace. You'll see the pic in the next post I believe. By now I was making a bee-line for the grey goose slushie stand. It was hot, TOO hot, and I had this heavy black camera up to my face all day. I finally took a moment to drink my own slush... and poured a good lot of it down my tshirt. Awesome. Im done now. So we headed back to the Wilderness for a nap in the AC, maybe a quick swim... and a break from the walking.

To get you excited for whats to come (and mostly because I just love my detail shots more than anything...) I wanted to share two more pics. This first one is of the little Belle dresses hanging in the Grand Floridian. I went over there and captured some of the princessy details there with my camera- as well as did a little shopping. Thats coming soon:

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/belle-1.jpg

And the story of Mom & the most perfect Disney earrings! It was quite a mission, and somehow we flew home with several pairs!

Happy Saturday!

Hi! I just read through your trip report. I love your style of writing and your pics are amazing!!!

I usually don't post on people's TR, I just read, but I had to ask:
Is the "You're" spelled correctly on your mom's cake and I just can't see the "e" at the end? If not, was it spelled incorrectly on purpose... you know, to emphasize the "practically" in practically perfect? Beautiful cake, in any regard, but I just thought it funny that they would have a mistake like "Your Practically Perfect in Every Way". You have to forgive me, I spend alot of time on www.cakewrecks.com, and I think that would be a perfect entry!

But.... no more banana spider pics please :scared1:

Sneezie-- CakeWrecks.com??? HILARIOUS. I have never heard of that. Its funny, they actually jacked up the entire saying. My father asked for the classic one-liner from Mary Poppins "You're Practically Perfect in Every Way" and when her cake showed up it read "Ellen, Your Practically Perfect in Everything"

Pretty ridiculous- I'm definitley going to look into entering it! Thanks!

Great trip report thus far!

The invasion of the Tweens at Starbucks cracked me up! These younguns don't realize that some adults need coffee like they need their iPhones . . .

We just adopted a puppy and our three kitties are, ummmm, adjusting. I had to practically put kitty towers in every room to give the kitties a puppy-free zone.

The tequila story in Mexico had me rollin' like tumbleweed. I would have fallen in the Rio del Tiempo if I had had six shots of straight tequila (plus a dos x). He's a machine!

Agreed my friend, Bellini was decent at best. I think the food more than made up for it, and to be honest I forgot about it until you mentioned it. Come to think of it I think my mother wasnt too excited about her Lemon Drop either. Maybe there was a new bartender??

Rollin like a tumbleweed, well aa'rriite. That was the idea. I had thought 'The adventures of Eric's buzz in Mexico' would get more laughs- but apparently I should be cranky more often.

Showed my DH your great pictures.....he would like to know what kind of camera and lenses you use....he is a photo lover but just on the side.:thumbsup2

Thank you so much, I always say I love what I do and im really humbled with all of the compliments. Please tell your DH I shoot a Canon 1Ds Mark iii. (Its a tremendous over-kill vacation camera, however its what I use for work -being a photographer- and I find that a point and shoot rarely satisfies my eye for "OMIGOSHWAITONESECOND I JUST NEED.THIS.SHOT") On top of that depending on where we are or what we're doing ill shoot with a 24-70mm lens. I also like the 70-200mm and the 100mm Macro. Again, overkill - but I would not wait to be chained to a pop up flash and a Rebel xti.

So now that youre all *blah blah blah camera jargon that means nothing to me and my husband is just going to say 'wow, cool'* I still have a point and shoot, and there are definitely days I just throw that in my backpack and go. Thank you for such kind compliments <3

Hubby's tequila story...best ever!!!! How fun!!!:thumbsup2

Hey dollface- Good to hear from you. Next time you're in WDW- snag a cute hands pic of you and the DH. Use your point and shoot (or have one of your bright kiddos do it for you) and zoom in on the hands in front of anything from the castle, to the walt statue, cindys fountain, etc. Then if you wanted that cool effect but your lens wont do it- dump the image into photoshop or picnik and add the blur effect. Easy peasy, and makes a cute detail shot to have in your office! Let me know, I can photoshop it for you, or if we're there at the same time, just snag the pic for ya!

Hi friends--

Just wanted to take another chance to post some detail highlights from work- outside of WDW I do actually take photographs for a living :goodvibes That being the case (and since everyone seems to love peeking at some great pics) I thought Id throw in a few of my favorite details from the wedding last weekend at the Ritz Carlton, Boston. I spent this past weekend in Stowe, VT working on an engagement shoot at the Von Trapp Family Lodge Friday, and then a wedding at the Green Mountain Inn on Saturday. Got home a few minutes ago and finally got into a hot shower!

Anyway- im uploading more pics to keep my TR cookin' along. I should have an additional post for you later tonight - DH and I are heading out to have sushi with his coworker around 6p, and im going to use the car-time to bring up a potential October trip in the works... Im thinking he'd be MORE swayed by a PIN code - but I might just beg for the chance to start saving and planning another PTR  .... ill keep you posted on that one.

So before I keep rambling- a few of my faves from two weeks ago.

Little dress-detail action...

So much to comment on.... head is going to explode...

Let's just leave it at: cakewrecks.com is AWESOME and a Marry Poppins cake created by Disney that could not get one of the most famous lines (maybe second to "a little bit of sweetener makes gross stuff easier to eat") of one of their most famous movies correct should absolutely be submitted to that site.
*disclaimer: said cake is actually very pretty, so I guess it doesn't have to also be smart ;)

I am jealous of Eric's tequila smorgasbord! Though I did notice from my time at la Cava de Tequila that the bartenders are more than happy to share- above and beyond what you order!

My dad was stationed in Germany in the late sixties and he insisted if we were living in Europe we were going to see Europe! They bought a camper and we went to Italy for three weeks....I can still remember certain things about it...my dad and I walked to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa (something you can no longer do) the sights, the sounds, the peach stands at the side of the roads.....:cloud9:

But I'm in a Disney state of mind, and the sun is shining-- so im doing another big upload of photos to continue my TR. Just wanted to check in and write back while thats happening.

Hey Girl, Glad to have you! I actually found the pink sparkly wallet at Forever21 for ... 6 or 7 bucks I think! Crazy deal. I often find some inexpensive earrings & accessories there before I go away. $50 in that store goes a LONG way. Clothes are not exactly high quality- but sometimes you can find some easy 'vacation' stuff, and if you ruin it or dont wear it again... it was a cheap investment ;) Ill keep you posted with some fun pics from work too of course.

Thanks for reading along, and I hope you keep sharing with me! <3

Emma princess: x

Oh doll- Jetlag is ROUGH. Ive been up at 5am thinking its 10am for the last two days, and practically falling asleep in my dinner by the time my husband comes home. Yeesh. Trying to rebound though. Glad to be home & catching up on your TR. Wedding details keep getting more amazing- Im SO happy for you. xxoo

Welcome home!!!! Hope it was a fantastic trip!
Can't wait to hear!

It was. However, I realized very quickly that I am a DOMESTIC traveler! No Internet, No Coffee, No hair appliances that work in outlets, No American news or sports or TV - and they serve lunch meat and cheese for breakfast. Yeah.... not this girls style. I can rough it - but this was crazy. Glad to be home & hear from you! Lots going on with your upcoming trip!!

Hey chicky!!!

I am so happy that you're back!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!

I missed you guys! Glad to be back and yammering at all my friends again. Im crossing my fingers that our paths will cross with your upcoming trip, but im not sure if I can get it to happen. I SO badly want to do a little shooting with you & Jasmine around the Magic Kingdom. If it doesnt happen during your Aug/Sept trip- ill have to catch you on the next round. But im pretty set on making sure it works out, I have lots of ideas!

I've forgotten where I am in my tale of adventure from October. Last thing I remember we were having dinner in San Angel Inn after a long (and albeit boozy) Epcot afternoon. There arent many more photos of that day - and Im in a Photo-Posting mood, so Ive gone ahead and jumped forward to the next Magic Kingdom Day.

Because I cant seem to find my way back to telling the story in perfect order: I feel like a map is an appropriate way to open us up!

Good evening :)

Just wanted to share a quick life-update with you! March 20th is my birthday. It is also (ironically) my husbands Birthday as well. For many years we have celebrated together, sharing cakes & cards from family and friends. There are some years when my mom will make me a big pink cake - and he still doesnt complain!

That being said-- this year, for the first time in awhile, we were separated. :sad2: I was in Italy, 5hours ahead of Kris. I went to dinner with some photographer friends & Kris went to dinner with his mom. I was sad, and the hardest part of the day was definitley towards the end. The waiter brought out a big italian dessert with candles in it - and I had to blow them out alone... without even the annual glance to Kris "I love you, Happy Birthday, sorry for the pink candles... again". We did get to speak on the phone for a few minutes... I had a quick tear, and all was alright.

K told me he had emailed me my birthday card. I smiled to myself thinking it was some sort of e-card with a dancing bear and hung up the phone. To my shock and surprise, he had MADE me a personalized Disney Birthday card. It was so funny - I had to share it with you. Below are the two images that I found in my email that night.

First: Beauty & The Beast. Belle is my most favorite princess (and the one I relate closest to... right down to the crazy Dad  ) and I refer to Kris as the wooly beast. *Sidestory* Upon sharing this information with Kris -my boyfriend at the time- he interrupts by saying "Belle? Shes not a Princess... shes just a towngirl that married up!" I was laughing and angry at the same time! Anyway... that explains why he calls me the towngirl in this image:

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/card1.jpg

And picture two: I love the beach (Heck, I grew up on Cape Cod... thats all we did!) and he hates it. So Ariel was an appropriate choice!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/card32.jpg

Isnt that sweet? :lovestruc Did you see Sydney and Sawyer make an appearance?? It was everything I needed while being so far away and homesick. A little husband, my pets & the Dis. Best birthday card, ever.

Anyway- Im off to sleep. Chat soon!!! xxoo

Happy Belated Birthday!! I love the cards! Ariel is my favorite princess and then Cinderella, so Belle's not at the top. I do like her, I just connect with Ariel so much more! Plus, it came out the year I was born and my mom bought it and I watched it almost every day when I was little!

I know I'm going way off-topic with these, but I wanted to share some of my favorite images from Italy with you. You'll notice that Im drawn to the detail shots, and less of wide angle "make sure you get everything in the picture" style. These next 11 pictures were just the first ones to jump out at me and say 'wow' - so please let me know what you think!

When in Rome ... touch the Colosseum!

Our translator actually started telling people they were "Famous Americans!" to create more of a scene. Lots of people looking and whispering - and it actually looked really cool around the street we were shooting. First she was on Big Brother and he was a famous baseball player... then somewhere along the way he turned into a famous motorcross bike rider, and she was a daytime soap actress. *NONE of which is true mind you, but it made the city pretty confused!

Ill get back to my TR asap... just wanted to show you what Ive been up to!

Welcome ovah heah! :lmao: oh.mi.gawhd, r's AH fah losah's! The Puppy is growing super fast - and im due to put up another picture of him. Hes eaten approximately 900 stuffed animals and poo'd more cotton than the Peter Cottontail himself. (that doesnt make sense.... /sigh) Pink pencils I found super cheap at Target & Michael's crafts! Glad you like them. Disney quote stuff is from the Hallmark store near me. Thanks for jumping in!

Thanks love :lovestruc It was a great Birthday, all things considered. First day of Spring too!! However, you wouldnt know it around here - its a frozen tundra :headache: He did miss me! There were some flowers on the table when I came home, and after a hot shower I spent most of my day in bed, beginning most of my sentences with "Oh yeah, so while I was in Italy... " Im surprised he didnt kick me out! How are you over there? Im going to pester you until you start your TR so I have a place to chat with you again! ;)

Happy Birthday for last week! love the card from DH :lovestruc

Love that your translator had fun with the crowd, it probably added a lot of energy to the shoot to have the passers by all involved in that way :)

We created a pretty big scene. Its funny how mob-mentality works. You could see people pulling out their cellphones to take pictures and text their friends. They also created a semi-circle type "no walk zone" without being asked, as if sub consciously "If im 50 feet away, I wont be in any of the photos" made sense.

Hey chicky!!

Ok....those pictures...I have no words....stunning, breathtaking, gorgeous...I guess I do have some words:lmao:

Secondly...when Jasmine gets married...girl you are the official photographer!!! I will give you lots of advanced notice and you can stay with us!!!

When Jasmine gets married - all you need to get me is a plane ticket! Im in Canada in no time flat! Unless of course, she decides to get married at the Grand Floridian... in which case Im bringing 2 other photographers and we're having a FIELD DAY! In any case, I am humbled (as always) by the attention and gracious things people say. I really love what I get to do. We can trip to WDW and ill call it a DISmeet! Tax Free for work of course ;)

what lens did you use for most of your Disney trip. DOF is really great!! They are really great pics!

Thank You! All of the images were shot with a fisheye lens. HA! Gotcha ;) I really enjoy the Canon 24-70mm. For vacations (depending on where Im going) I also like the 16-35mm and the 85mm. However, the 24 seems to satisfy my wide open shots, as well as details (if I walk close enough!) since the lens I like & use for weddings is a very heavy 70-200mm - vacations get a lighter lens for walking & carrying. If you're really trying to just take pretty photos though- go for the 85mm 1.2 - it is WONDERFUL.

Can you tell I enjoy talking about this?

Youre into the DISboards for the long haul ('99) and still have not written a TR? My friend, you have to get on that! Its one of the best things Ive done. So many friends and stories and tips. I wouldnt trade it for anything - and I compulsively check it and comment on others... its worse than facebook for me! Just today I read all about Disney Family Night theme parties... im thinking of doing one myself when my parents get home. /sigh I digress... its nice to meet you - especially since we're so close. I keep meeting people in the area - a DIS-Date may be in our future!

Ben and I would love to get together and discuss Disney things (we talk about other things, too... on occasion :lmao: ) Ben is the go-to guy for the pros and cons of DVC. Let's make plans!

Im chatty this evening... as a result, im on a posting binge. Enjoy :)

During our last stay on property (during this trip report...) DH & I had a conversation with my parents about the few pros and cons (<-- WHAT Cons!?) about buying into the DVC. We ended up going to the meeting and taking a look at some units, then leaving with some paperwork to crunch some numbers. We realized very quickly that this was a great idea for us... for several reasons:

1) We travel to Disney at least once a year, sometimes more often than that. Having a point system to cover these trips is a no brainer
2) Points can be used, banked, borrowed against & gifted to others. This is fantastic
3) If we buy in with my parents, we can get DOUBLE the points and all share from the same bank.
4) You can accrue points during a year in which you are not traveling, thus leaving you with the option to have 2yrs of time
4.a) DH & I are starting to consider the pitter patter of disney feet around our house. Therefore, if we buy in soon- we can save up the points for the year of no travel and have a full blown fiesta the next year with some giant condo :cool1:

Harsh Reality: This costs money. Lots of money. Not just "Rainy Day, im going to buy jeans I had a bad day" money.

So- when K got home from work last night, we decided rather than sit in front of the TV, we were going to do a project. We were going to make a bank to keep our "DVC" cash in. I was so proud of us, I took pics with my cellphone :wizard:

Oh my goodness! Are all those yours! So many pretty lenses! (disclaimer, I've been playing with cameras since I was a baby and I graduated Radio and Television Arts with tons of camera buffs both at school and work, so while I may not be ready for a DSLR yet, I can't wait to get my first one).

DVC FUND....I LOVE IT!!!! When we went on what has become our annual trip in to the world in 2008 my sister and her hubby had been tossing around the idea of DVC. Once we checked in to the resort on the Saturday they stopped at the DVC kiosk.....they were being picked up at 8am on Tuesday...let's not waste time people!! :lmao: I assumed we (me and Jas) would just take the girls to the park and they would meet us once all was said and done. Nope....they wanted me there....the more ears to listen the better...and oh yeah...I'm a banker:lmao: They needed those skills also! They signed nothing that day...we took everything back to the resort, Jasmine took the girls to the pool and we crunched numbers and what would be best. They made a follow up appt on the Thurs to purchase:banana: this was when they told us they would be buying enough points to be able to stay in a 2 bedroom every second year so that Jasmine and I could always come with them:worship: Yup...that's when the bawling started...I seriously love my family:love:

I asked them if they ever regretted their decision to purchase and these were their exact words....."regret...we're looking at buying more points :lmao: With the prospect of future little disney feet running around, I think it's a fantastic idea....

I am so happy at just the thought of it for you.....

I love the bank, totally cute! One thing that might help you save up more: Every time you guys are feeling inclined to go for an "extra" (clothes you don't really need, an expensive meal out..or even little things like going out for ice cream) ask yourselves "What is more important...this or DVC?" If the answer is DVC then toss that money you would have spent into your bank. Now you should still allow yourself little luxuries here and there, but the point is to cut back on the non essential spending by constantly reminding yourself of your goal!

You can also give yourself little reminders - a mickey head tucked in with the cash in your wallet will do the trick!

I've never had a class and I only do it for fun.. but I do try to be creative. I got a new camera for my Bday/Christmas.. and it doesn't have special lens but I still try.

Love the DVC bank! Good incentive to save!

When we bought, the whole reason we went to the tour was to get the gift card (don't remember how much it was... $200, I think?) with no intention of buying. But after a loooooong time of Ben doing maths, we came to the conclusion that we should buy!
He's the one with all the good advice... but one of the things we did was buy points at the available home resort with the cheapest annual dues. Cause you can still stay anywhere, and for us there was no sense in paying more per year just because of our 'random' home resort. Of course, because it was Bay Lake Towers that we bought and to stay there costs higher points, we may never actually stay at our home resort. But that's ok with us.

Italy pictures are bee-yoo-tiful! Just gorgeous!
Happy belated birthday, and I'm sorry you had to spend it away from DH... but those cards he sent are fantastic. I especially love Sawyer's commentary in them :rotfl:

Ben and I would love to get together and discuss Disney things (we talk about other things, too... on occasion :lmao: ) Ben is the go-to guy for the pros and cons of DVC. We sat in that office FOREVER while he figured out if it was worth it. And he has done all the figurin' and plannin' to get the best use of our points.
Let's make plans!

Thanks doll! That sounds like a perfect idea... You're leaving in less than a month :scared1: I'm beyond excited for you. Plus when you get back, the weather around here will *hopefully* be warm and you'll be in the zone to talk about your experience. The hard part will be deciding where to eat...

Please tell Ben hi for me & thanks for reading - We're very excited to finally get together with you both... but we should probably make sure they dont show up wearing the same shirt!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your pictures, oh my gosh!!! Thank you for sharing those!!

I have toyed with the DVC idea myself, I think your bank is a great idea and so cute :goodvibes I have stayed with friends in their DVC room before and it was AMAZING...they still rave about DVC and they bought in a few years ago

Thank you SO much. "LOVELOVELOVE" is usually a good sign! Im very good with goals and expectations, rather than "We'll save for someday" - so Kris and I sat down and figured out a plan. To avoid a ridiculous sum of money sitting in our kitchen, we're going to empty the bank every 500 dollars or so, and deposit it into a separate account. Can you imagine if someone walked away with all those mickey dollars? Id die!

NO my friend, they are definitely not mine! Im so sorry if I led you to believe that :headache: Thats actually the Canon lens library. I get very excited about two things: Disney Vacations, and giant pieces of glass I can stick on my camera :rotfl: so that is just the array of lenses available. I only have a few. I would have more lenses, if I took less vacations to see Uncle Walt - and .. well... thats just not going to happen.

Any luck opening that Mickey Mail yet?!?

What a touching story! I come from a close family myself, and its so nice to hear things like that. I would often feel guilty as a kid - because some of my friends came from a fighting family or they hated their siblings. Eric is one of my closest friends, and we do a lot together. I cant imagine having it any other way. I'm sure that years from now he'll be taking his wife and kids to Disney... and sharing our points! :thumbsup2 Hope you have a fantastic weekend & we'll chat soon. I hear there might be some Pixie Dust headed your way...

Congrats for booking flights!!! WOOOOO

I  LOVE that idea. I can be impulsive, so a tiny mickey head or small reminder might be a great idea in the wallet. Then, get home and tuck that 20 bucks in the bank. Maybe ill laminate one Alien Green for all my DISboard friends :) Thanks for the advice!

Thank you so much! Anyone can take an amazing photograph... sometimes its just seeing the little moment on the side rather than going for the "Everyone LOOK AT ME AND SAY MICKEY" style! One of the things I love best about the newest campaign for 'making memories' is that they're real people. Real, shaky home video cameras like my parents used - and the videos were never captured with the intention of going on TV... just families losing their brains in excitement! Moral of the story: rock that camera girlfriend. Photography is a love affair with details and moments as much as it is whatever gear you're using. We cant slow time down, but we can freeze it. Use your new camera all the time, and im always here if you need anything!

So glad to see lots of updates and I can't wait to read more!

If you find the money tree... let me know where it is! Im working almost 50 weddings this year, and im hoping some money tree grows into my DVC bank as a result. (that didnt make sense.) Regardless... the DVC board here helped me a lot with info, and staying excited. The idea of raising that kind of money seemed kind of daunting - however it is doable. I'll motivate you if you help me!!! Thank you for your kind words, Italy was a blast and ill post more pics of that wedding very soon.

A friend of mine just bought resale DVC for a much reduced price. THat might be something to look into.

That is a good idea... I think the only hangup for DH & I was that it was an abbreviated deed. Meaning, instead of the full term, you bought whatever was left of the term from the original owner. Because we're young and not-yet parents... we'd like to own for as many years as possible.

Whats nice about resale though, is sometimes you can buy at a resort that is no longer offering units. Wilderness Lodge is our favorite home-base... however they are no longer for sale. /wwwaaaahhhh

Love the DVC bank! Good incentive to save!

Welcome to the weekend :) No major plans for me. DH is working overtime this weekend on a project, so I'm headed out to take the dog for a run & finish up the grown up chores ive been neglecting around the house ... But tonight Im picking Mom & Dad up from the airport around 10 :goodvibes They're in Magic Kingdom now, and heading back home tonight. I cant WAIT to hear all about their trip with their friends. (remember? They went down to stay at Disney with another couple.) Well, My Dad's friend had NEVER been - so as a highlight, they emailed me a picture my mom took of his reaction to Epcot.

Its like you can hear his brain running a million miles an hour. "wooaahh"

And just for fun, since (selfishly) I miss him too: A picture of Kris & I from our last trip in October. Yes, we're out of focus. Dont blame me, I clearly wasnt taking the picture :rotfl:

Not necessarily my most attractive after being in 90 degrees all day... but never the less, its one of the few pics we do have from that trip. I promise to get better about this!

Back to stories from the trip ASAP. You still have a lot to see & hear!

Either way, I stole this picture from someone else- but this gives you an idea of what the open air markets looked like. You are such a sweet person Jess! I also plan to go to Italy, just not sure when :) Italy is my mom's dream trip, so eventually I will get there! I love the picture of the market!

Thanks Hon! Pic of the market isnt mine, I shamefully took it from Google to show Queen & Jasmine what the location looked like when I bought the scarves/pashminas. It was my dream trip too (outside of WDW of course) and I finally made it! So of COURSE you'll go too. My suggestion? Fly into Florence if you can and go north from there! <3

Absolutely fab pictures, and a thoroughly entertaining TR! :thumbsup2

I inherited a few cameras from my dad this year, and my DH and I plan on taking at least two of them with us on our trip in September. He had an amazing eye, and I plan on honoring his memory by doing something he loved best!

Subscribing so I can keep up!:woohoo:

Thank you so much  I think thats an amazing way to remember your Dad - and one I may find myself doing someday as well. My dad isnt a photog. but its definitely one of our most special places. If you get the chance to re.create a favorite image - consider making a memorial canvas or canvas cluster (several different sized canvas pictures- google image search 'canvas clusters') of both old and new photos.

Youre doing a beautiful thing :) and Im glad you're here sharing it with me!! :lovestruc

Hey hon!!

Don't ever apologize for posting the most beautiful pictures we've ever seen. That one of the reflection is beyond anything I've ever seen before...you are one talented girl!!

Pictures of the shoes would be nice:rolleyes1

I know you have a crazy weekend, but maybe we can catch up at some point

XO:hug:

Pictures of shoes? Fiiiiiiiine. Be warned, there are several. (Baby, you should see the leather boots. I bought two!) Tell Jas to keep a huge portion of her trip money to Italy aside for shopping... it is to DIE for. I'll be in and out of fb a bit, then back next week- im sure we'll reconnect then  bear down in the storm, its almost over. Think Disney thoughts!!

Thank you *so* much (as always) for the ego boost. Im glad you like my pictures!!

Don't apologize, your Italy photos are beautiful and romantic!!:goodvibes

Thank you - its hard to capture the real FEEL of life over there, but I tried.

WOW... Some great photos! :)

Thanks Cheryl! Glad you like them, hope you stick around to see more

Keep em coming I say !:cool1:

Then keep them coming I shall! Maybe some shoe pics, per request ;) and I really do want to get more Disney pics up from the trip. I did some serious shopping and need to show you guys the haul!

xxoo Happy Friday

I love that picture with the reflection in the rain puddle....I think I may wear out the word "love" during your TR and sharing of your pictures :rotfl:

That is a word that is impossible to wear out. I think saying that more than anything else is a good sign! It was just a soggy day outside and I was really trying to document the flood- when I stumbled on it as an accident ;) I wish I could tell you I had creative divine intervention and it sang to me. It was totally a snap on a whim and it worked out!

I've been lurking around the last week or so and stumbled upon your PTR and now your TR and just had to say how much I've been enjoying it, and that your pictures are awesome!

Thanks so much for giving me the Disney fix that I need since our next trip isn't until June of 2013 (just found out I'm pregnent :cloud9: so we're planning the first trip with our future disney lover for when their 18 months), not sure how I'm ever going to wait that long :rolleyes1

Suited up & headed out to shoot the last wedding of a triple-weekend. My arms are tired, my suit is kind of smelly & has buttercream on the sleeve... but im ready to go. This morning I found out there are 9 bridesmaids and 9 groomsmen. Thats 20 people in just the bridal party, not to mention the parents, grandparents, ushers, and whoever else... Jon & Kate +8? Its going to be like herding cats.

This is my face upon realizing Id have to help wrangle and photograph that many people.

Sometimes, I even surprise myself  A lot of people use clusters for trips/major events or to document their children. (Some do one picture each month of their first year, etc.) 12 Canvases sounds like a lot, but all different sizes helps to break up the crazy. Im SO excited for you & to see the pics you come back with!

Thanks for the ideas on how to make the time go by faster. I've been playing around with the idea of doing a PTR, it just seems so far out lol. But I'm sure I'll have a lot to keep me occupied in the not too distant future!

Thank You! Im glad you laughed at my silly face. Most pictures of me come from my computer, since Im always the one taking the pictures. The wedding was okay... I was a little fried after 3 in one weekend - and this bride was... less than a picture of grace.

Love the "herding cats" comment. DH recently MC'd his cousin's wedding and said the same thing about keeping the bridal party in the room for speeches etc.

Its TRUE!! Ever tried to herd cats? Its the same for drunk groomsmen and bridesmaids. Everyone is losing their drink, making a face, yelling a sex joke, or pulling lipgloss out of a bra. uuuuuf.

Rounded out a day at Epcot. Right! Allie had picked her perfect pearl (try say that 5 times fast...) and popped it into her perfect pendant.

Trying too hard.

I bought her this carriage necklace that I had seen on someone else's TR, and the little pearl fit perfectly (.... /sigh) We sat on a bench and carefully put it together, and I caught the pic below. I thought it was so cute, I had to have one myself! (I picked my own pearl seperately while on a brief trip in January... I headed down for 3 days to photograph the Disney Half Marathon for the LLS of Massachusetts) Mine looks the same :cloud9: Love them

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8824.jpg

We had dinner in Mexico (to refresh ya') and then headed back to bed

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/Mexico.jpg

The next Day was Animal Kingdom day - and on this day, I confess to leaving my camera in the room. I came up with several creative excuses to tell you, but the truth of the matter is: It was quite hot, and I was quite tired of carrying that giant camera slung over my shoulder. Laziness prevailed, and the camera stayed in the room. I enjoyed water rides and running around and only had a few fleeting "Dangit I wish I had my camera" moments. For the most part- it was a much needed break. Dont be mad!!

AK was a great day for me though, everyone trekked to Kilimanjaro Safari's right away- and while the sea of people were passing us... Eric and I slipped into Pizzafari for breakfast. (Remember in my PTR, this was a Not To Be Missed location!) Who knew they did breakfast?

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/DAK_Pizzafari_breakfast_goldhaber.jpg

We actually had a great sibling-breakfast and laughed a lot over our giant plates of bacon, eggs, and biscuits. We even argued about timing of eating the biscuits! Because they were so delish, did you enjoy them first while warm? or save the best for last? Either way, I ate mine first, Eric saved his for last and took it 'on the road' to meet up with the family. Somehow we ended up coining the term "Dope Biscuits" and used it for the rest of the trip when referring to something awesome.

Jess: You should try my pineapple drink
Eric: Is it good or just strong
Jess: Its Dope Biscuits.
Eric: D-Beezy? Pass me that drink.

Stupid moments like that remind me that my brother will always be my best friend  I was glad to have a quiet breakfast just the two of us. Pizzafari is a dead zone in the morning, nice and cool.

From the Safari (which had an outrageously feminine man for a driver. "Ohmyyyyy kids, those are some savage wildabeastssss. I hope we dont fall off the baa-riiiddgeee") We headed over to Disco Yeti, and ended up riding Expedition Everest twice. Once with a fastpass I believe Kris sprinted to get us while Ero & I ate, and then again because we hit that magic sweet-spot line time when its only 10 minutes. I had a dance party each time the strobe-monster came into view. We did lots more, Kali River, lunch at the Yak & Yeti, etc. Then headed for Festival of the Lion King.

After Lion King, Kris and I had *planned* on leaving the group and heading back to get ready for our California Grill ADR. However, we had been eating way more than usual over the last few days (Boma & Ohana back to back is a festival of meat and overindulgence.) Kris wasnt feeling up to the formal dining, and rather than force the dinner- I cancelled the reservation. I want to go with him when hes SO excited to go and see it. We can sit for a long time and eat comfortably - not have his first memory be in a beef-coma and tight dress pants. He was thankful, and I dont regret the decision. Its just another thing to save and look forward to next time :love2: We exchanged gifts, then just grabbed some dinner at the Earl of Sandwich in DTD. Off to Sleep at the Wilderness, tomorrow was our last day - and we would spend it in MK.

(A few nighttime photos from the WL)

Up early and ready to shine, we headed off to our last full day in Disney. I took a picture of the water taxi this morning, because it was clearly for us... The "M" Boat!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8823.jpg

Allie was already getting a little sad, knowing we would be leaving tomorrow. I caught her day dreaming looking off across the water...
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8804.jpg

Here we are....
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/IMG_8834.jpg

:offtopic: I know, I know- off on a tangent again. But because I dont really need my arm twisted *that* much to talk about shoes, I took a few pics of the shoes/boots I bought in Italy. Im still coveting a particular pair of strappy / open toe wedge beauties that I didnt end up buying...

So ill let you know if I cave and get them ;)

I took the pictures quick'n a hurry today, so theyre just on the bed in front of a window for some natural light (best to keep the colors truer to real life!) and if you look closely, you'll see the 40th Anniversary Mickey ears my parents brought back for me last month, over my bedside lamp.

Okay, first- my tried and true favorites. First purchase, grey leather boots. They are so comfy and tie in the back just below the knee. Very cute. I wore them a ton while I was over there, and my dark jeans started to rub off on the leather!
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/316Q3576.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/316Q3575.jpg

Next: Second pair of white -almost- knee height boots. They are hot, in that military might try with white shorts and a khaki jacket kind of way. However, it is not fashion-timing-appropriate yet to wear white, and it has been a mud pit in MA with all this rain. I have yet to wear them at all... but I cant wait to

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/316Q3583.jpg

Last but not least (I know, it was hard not to bring back more.... but American Express was beginning to think someone stole my credit card. That... and I was going to be staring a divorce in the eye when I got home!) The black patent leather stiletto. *sigh. The "Cab-Shoe" as we call it. I will probably avoid walking more than 100 steps anywhere in the skyhigh platforms, but they just look .... so.... good... on

C'mon, Yoda- where's the update? ;)

I know - completely left the band wagon... I have tons more pictures too... I think after I finish the story of the basic TR, im going to just have to post the rest of my 'random' pics. Can you tell Im new at this? (Also, its POURING driving rain here right now-- Im sure youre down to counting HOURS till you get out of here. Take lots of sunny pictures for me!!)

I was just saying that! Im new to writing a TR - so I think next time I go i'll be much better prepared, taking pictures to keep the storyline straight & posting them in order. I still have at least a batch or two of pictures I can post after the report is done... and now I have so many ideas, I have to go back again! Thinking of you today doll, and hope your Lasik is smooth as ever

LOVE the pick-a-pearl! I have always wanted to do that, I might just have to bite the bullet and spend the money on the next trip! LOVE Allie's sunglasses! Hope you had a great Easter!

Thanks sweetpea, I DID have a great Easter. Mom wrapped my easter basket in Disney Princess cellophane! The pick a pearl is actually only (...I believe) $16? and the carriage cage necklace I found on ebay for like... $7, and I like it more than a lot of the options out there in Epcot. I can try dig up the link if you'd like it!

Thanks for coming over- took me a few days to read yours too, and I'm so glad I did :cutie: We'll have to exchange tips on cute pink things and photos. The one you caught of the stage show in MK (dancers all in air) was right on point! Nice!!

I don't blame you for leaving your camera behind, it can get so hot in AK especially and I wouldn't want to carry around any extra weight either!!

Glad you guys had a great family breakfast!! :goodvibes

Animal Kingdom can get (as my family calls it) "Africa Hot". That type of hot where you can see wavy lines coming off the ground and your body feels weak... woof. In the future, maybe ill start using my iphone pics instead  Thanks for making me feel better- I definitely learned a lesson for next time at least... if you dont take pictures... you will lose track of what happened that day, delay a chunk of your TR, and people will get the hint. /sigh Thanks Shannon!!

I just popped in from a few month departure on the DisBoards and found your TR. We are from Medway Ma and I had a laugh when I saw that you guys flew out of Green as that is our favorite airport ! My 4 year old thinks that Southwest airplanes only fly to Mickey's house. We are patiently awaiting the arrival of our second baby in June and I am trying to debate the 'how young is too young to take a baby to disney?'

You are such a talented photographer. I am in love with photography and like yourself I am always behind the camera !

I can't wait to hear more and see more from you!

Best of luck this summer wedding season. We spend lots of time on the beaches of the cape and RI ... maybe we will catch your shutterbug there :)

I am a bootoholic & I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those boots!!!
Looking at those pictures makes me want to go out shopping & look for some.
My Visa card says 'thank you'.
Seriously, we're wearing white down here in the South. Just send those boots down here & I'll break them in for you until you get better weather!

I don't have a pair of black stiletto's, but I'm thinking I need to get a pair.

I'm not sure why I thought pick-a-pearl was like $30 :rolleyes1, but it doesn't sound too bad! I'll definitely do it next time! O..M....G.....I would be DANGEROUS in a shoe store! The only downside for me is that I can't wear women's shoes :( :( So I have to get my heels custom made  I can sometimes fit in a 5, if i'm lucky! I've been lusting after these heels! I think i'll just bite the bullet and pay the $115 for them, since they come in a 4, which will definitely fit me!

Blame whatever you need to, Im just glad youre here now! I actually found the necklace on Ebay. Search Carriage Pearl Necklace or something like that... I didnt pay more than $7 or $8 for it, and its perfect, came with a chain and everything. If you cant find it- shoot me a message, I think I saved the link to it somewhere or have it in my email.

Hi Medway Johnson! You know my MA weather-woes too, then. Bah. I actually had the "how young is too young" debate with my mother and husband the other day. My mom thinks I should try and hold out until my children (of which I have none yet) are at least 6 or 7, so they can understand and have the power of feeling the magic for the first time. Between you and I? If they make it to 4 or 5 without going its a miracle. Let me know what you guys decide and points on your own debate!

Thanks for the luck- we have almost 50 weddings in the book between now and November 25th. Yeesh. Ill come up for air during the week and post more favorite pics! Thank you so much for the compliment~ and I hope to catch you this summer!

Wow, thats crazy. I have a small foot (6), but I can still fit womens. I dont know what I would do if I couldnt. Even if Im wearing jeans I tend to rock a sweet shoe or loud sneaker. I guess its different for everyone. :goodvibes Keep your eyes on the prize with those Louboutins - I went to Vegas and ended up wearing Barbie Pink ones at my wedding, so anything is possible!

Thanks!! The Dollar/Euro conversion is kind of rough, so just make sure she brings plenty of $$ to the bank and converts it before she leaves. Ive heard all about your Ooneys and Tooneys (Twoney?) whatever.... Convert Them!!! Black is tough, and its so versatile that choosing just one isnt enough! I have several- so you should too! (See that? Thats called an enabler. Im tell you to spend it since you NEED it!) I have black patent leather, black satin peep toe, black TStrap (<-- classic!), black Mary Jane, and one black designer pair.

..... but I NEEDED them. They're definitley a wardrobe asset, and good shoes make a cheap outfit look designer. I swear. I wore a pair of expensive shoes with a plain trench coat and cheap F21 sundress, and everyone was telling me how chic I was. Honestly? The whole outfit cost less than one of the shoes!

Go to Disney AND Italy - doesnt Adventures by Disney do a Rome route?

The story goes something like this:

I had always wanted a pair of glass slippers, just like Cinderella. The sparkly heels that changed her life and opened the doorway to Princess-life. While buying my wedding shoes in Las Vegas, I fell in love with a pair of pink cutout Christian Louboutins with gold aurora borealis swarovski crystals. I almost hurled myself on the ground and sold everything in my possession to own them... however, the cost was too high. I had already justified the barbie pink Louboutins, and as it was, they were expensive.

Alas, here they are in all their glory - and they are what started my quest: However, $2500 for shoes was not going to happen.... Thats not to say I didnt spend $50 gambling in Vegas to try and hit the "its meant to be, destiny, fate" lotto. I ended up with no shoes, and $50 in the red.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/Louboutin.jpg

I ended up leaving with these babies instead, the Hyper Prive slingbacks in shocking pink satin. I was happy and grateful, but I never forgot the way the original ones sparkled.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/60527_429272046885_507201885_5511494_7698471_n.jpg

So- fast forward to my 26th Birthday. I wanted my own glass slippers... and I knew I still couldnt pay over 2k for them... so I was going to have to make them. I found these patent-leather type gray slingbacks, for $20 in my size... and started my mission. After checking out many different crystals from Swarovski wholesale, I settled for Aquamarine blue. It was my birth stone, and it was the color that seemed closest to "Glass Slipper" blue. 10+ Hours later (over several days), with one glue mishap and a stiff neck... I had these babies. My first attempt at sparkly shoes! Certainly, not to be my last. I already want gray ones and hot pink ones!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/shoes1.jpg

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/shoes2.jpg

You can see I started to do the heel, however decided against it. For some reason I liked it better without the heel done - and I had already glued on over two thousand crystals! There are some small gaps, since I used two different sizes- but I think its a great first attempt. I think my next ones will be even better, and ill buy 3 different sizes to better fill in the gaps!

http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb293/thekatilyst/shoe4.jpg

So thats my story - my glass slippers are all set to go for our next visit to WDW. I hope Cinderella eats her heart out! I just want to go somewhere magical for dinner wearing these, maybe walk around with them glittering in the lights of Main Street - and then put them back on the shelf in my closet. Arent they pretty?! I couldnt wait to show you! They sparkle so much, I wanted to take a video, but thought that might be overkill :rotfl:

[QUOTE=JSo- anyone have any advice for the DVC? Saving money, things we must know? Additions to the Mickey Bank??? :rotfl:[/QUOTE]

I have a saving money tip, but I don't know if you have it in the US. We have a bank account called "Bank the Rest" in Canada, what it does is rounds up your debit purchases to the nearest dollar or five dollars and puts it in a seperate savings account for you. So if you make a purchase at Walmart for $12.50 it will either put $0.50 or $2.50 into your own account for you. This does not seem like a lot of money but if you make 3-4 purchases a day it sure adds up. This is how I put away my spending money for our next trip.

I have heard of that - and Its a great idea! So far Ive used another ideas (Shannons? IBelieveinMagic? I have to go back and check who first said it...) about keeping a little Mickey Head in my wallet - then when I think I want something, I scope it out and it keeps the $$ in the wallet, and doesnt leave it at mall. The rounding up is smart too though - we have Citizens Bank, so im going to check and see if they offer something like that now as well... Thanks!!!

Thank you! It was a lot of hard work, but thats really almost all of it. It took a little extra $ than I would have spent on just regular shoes, but I think the end result was totally worth it.... now I just have to try and crank out a few more pairs so I can match my little dinner dresses. Ill type out the steps I took and add links to the mats. purchased online on FB when I get a few free minutes this afternoon- just have to take the dog for a run & marinate some supper first! Thank you so much for the compliments- please thank your Grandma too - and let her get back to the tub! :lmao:

Wow! Those shoes are SMOKIN'!!!

HAHAHA! Smoooookkkiiinnnnn. :yay: Thanks for the virtual high-five of confidence lady, I needed it. Psyched you love them like I do - now I want to glitteratti everything at my house... its going to be a Liberace museum in no time...

Right? pixiedust: I knew you guys would get it! We'll have to start our own YouTube - Pixie Craft Hollow - where we eat glitter for breakkfaaasssttt.

Because of you I'm now I'm off to find out if my locale Cake Supplies store has edible glitter! That sounds like the perfect 3 Days to Go project, right?!

Oh trust me, every trip we take to Disney with my mom we were all forced to wear lime green mickey heads! (We were also forced to help "steal" them from Home Depot before we left :rotfl2:) I knew she was on Dis but I had NO IDEA how addicting it was until now!

I'm so excited to get to LIVE at WDW for the next seven months and share my adventures with everyone! :yay:

Did you get the edible glitter??? I have used in before on cakes for my DD and it really just tastes like sugar but really adds alittle bling to the cake.

Also: Two questions to ask:

1) Does anyone ever get in the chat rooms? Is it worth it to try and find a time to pop in there and chat, or are they kind of Zzzzzzzz ?

2) Have you heard of the "Tag Fairy" ? :tink: I did a little research and I think I found the answer.... how exciting!

I haven't found time yet to get across to the store but they do sell it and I'm hoping to get it before we border hop on Saturday, if not I'm gonna glitter up some welcome home cakes when we get back! (not sure I want the border guards to question why people are huffing glitter in the back seat of a Canadian rental car even if it is really just sugar! :rotfl: )

I've never been tagged by the Tag Fairy (even though I've been on the Disboards for several years). I think only a blessed few have been tagged (and I thought I knew how to get tagged or more chances of getting tagged but nothing yet...)

What a FABULOUS way to de-lurk! :cloud9: I feel so lucky. Thank you so much, and yes, I did glue on each crystal. I put glue in a small square pattern about 1/2 inch at a time, then quickly went back and forth placing crystals on the glue.... but c'mon... TOTALLY worth it! I already have the next pair I want done purchased, I just have to save up enough $ to buy the swarovski's... thats the most expensive part! Psyched to have you, hope you post more often :upsidedow xxoo

You should look her up! From what I gather she/he is the one who writes the little colored notes under your username on the left side of the screen... and you dont get to request it - all of a sudden, one shows up - all magic-ificated :woohoo: maybe someday ill get one... because c'maaaaan - Im hilarious :lmao:

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship....

By 'Tropic Port' I mean 'Wilderness Lodge Launch Point'
.... and by fateful tale, I mean more along the lines of '20 minute boat ride with funny pics'

But I think we all frost reality with a little magic and poetic license in our TRs :rotfl:

We're Off! I wanted to show you my cute bubble gum ring, and my hack job manicure apparently ...
