These prices actually seem like normal prices with little or no discount.

It's like Newegg's 15% off sale on their DSLR, what they didn't tell you was they reset their DSLR prices to MSRP before starting the sale, so it's not really a good deal.

It's all relative!

The T2i with kit 18 - 55 mm is retailing at $1400;
with the kit 18 - 55 mm AND 55 - 250 is retailing at $1700.

The other brands all have a similar mark-up.
