We purchased my son a Cannon video camera about 4 years ago that takes the small dvd discs. He is taking a Visual Image and Design 2 year course at school and this camera does not work with the softwear on the computer. He is looking to get a new one that takes the digital tapes like the one he uses at school. My question is does anyone know where we can sell the other video camera? Somewhere online that you have used and trust? I know we probable won't get much out of it but if he is not going to use it and he could get something to go towards the new one it would be worth it.

Thanks for any help.

Most places that sell used equipment also buy it. KEH, Adorama, B&H... or try your local camera shop. There's also ebay. Just find your camcorder on there and see what it's going for.

Also have him look into the schools check out department. It's always good to have your own equipment but sometimes you just can't. It also makes it easier to get help if you have simliar equipment to what they check out, since that's what they bring to class for demos and such.

You could try the Marketplace section of the Canon Forums at http://photography-on-the.net/forum/index.php Most people sell camera gear, but I think they sell video stuff too. You'd deal directly with the buyer there; so no listing/selling fees involved.
