Wednesday 27 October

We were both feeling a bit tired this morning and the other guests must have been feeling the same way as we were the only ones at breakfast for a while.

We got a later bus in to EMH today so we got there about 8.20. We went to Buzz first and I was once again heading for an abysmal score when we stopped for about 2 minutes in the last main room and I was right by Zurg’s elbow which seemed too good an opportunity to miss. I ended up with 600,000+ points.

Dtr went on Space Mountain and then we went to look at Wall.E and Eve.

We didn’t do any more rides in EMH, having decided we would take some photos for a potential future quiz. If I left it to Dtr, you would have the world’s most obscure and difficult quiz ever. She nonchalantly comments “Oh, anyone would know what that is” at every nut, bolt and manhole cover!

We went to queue for rope-drop by the entrance of POTC.

We were the second one at the entrance when 10 o’clock came, only for the pirate to announce it would be another 10 minutes before it opened. We went instead to Indiana where the queues had not yet built up. When Dtr had been on we went to the top of Frontierland where all the pumpkins grow and live to get some of the Halloween atmosphere. There were 6 face painters dotted around so we both got ‘done’.

A bit different from last night!

It was about 11 o’clock now so we went over for a ride on Casey Jr – this was nearly deserted so we went round twice – love that little train!

One thing we hadn’t done yet was any shopping – so we set off for the Studios as we wanted to look at the shop there, then we did all the shops in the Village and bought a variety of things.

Am I really sad that I have a favourite tree at DLP?

In a repeat of yesterday, we got sarnies from the shop at the station and went back to the hotel.

After nice relax, we left with (what we thought was) plenty of time to get back to the Park for our booking at Walts. Unfortunately there must have been some problem with the buses as 40 minutes passed in between shuttles, with the result that it was PACKED when it did arrive. This is the first time this has happened to us and we have stayed at the partner hotels a few times, but I guess this is one of the potential disadvantages – that you are at the mercy of the shuttle buses. :headache:

Anyway at the security check, the CM was once again the BTM singer from the other night. He looked all casual and like he was hardly paying attention but then he suddenly stopped one couple whose bag had gone through x-ray because the bag had a knife in it! I think it was probably a silly mistake because I think they were a family with a picnic, but I found it reassuring that it had been picked up by security.

We hurried down Main Street to Walts and got there 12 minutes late – but thankfully our table hadn’t been given away – phew.

We had a lovely meal here.

We went to Frontierland as Dtr had seen the bandana she wanted in the shop there (it had Jack Skellington heads all over it). I also bought a lovely warm pair of black suede gloves.

We walked on Phantom Manor after this. I don’t know if I am the only one, but there are some occasions when I find PM more spooky than others. It is usually at night, when hardly anybody else is on there. This was one of those nights when my imagination ran riot and every dark part of the ride seemed menacing.

After we got off, we could hear the announcements telling the riders on BTM that their ride had been temporarily halted – they were stuck in the dark on the hill.:sad2:

We went to Indiana where Dtr had a great ride in the dark. Next we went on POTC where we had a most excitable dad sitting behind us. It was quite sweet as he was clearly more excited by the ride than his child was. He kept saying everything was either ‘superb’, ‘excellent’ or (the favourite) ‘magnifique’. Also he kept pointing things out by saying “la la la la la, oh c’est magnifigue”. It was really lovely to hear someone being so enthusiastic.

On the way out I bought a new POTC tshirt to replace my very old and faded one. We went onto Snow White and then bought a couple of baubles in the Christmas shop before going over to Discoveryland.

Firstly we revisited Wall.E and Eve to see if they lit up at night.

Captain Eo had closed for the day but Buzz was still open for business so we went round twice with minimal queuing, which was a great end to our day.

We finished off with a few more purchases in the Village then, I’m afraid, we had to sharpen our elbows a little. There was a huge school party that arrived just behind us at the bus stop – older teens – they were rather keen to get on. We did get on and we got seats but the bus had to leave some people behind to wait for the next one. I was rather relieved when the school group got off at the Explorers – I was hoping they weren’t at our hotel (meany, I know)

Back at our room, we had our cup-a-soup and reviewed all our purchases before settling down for our last night.

Great pics, we must've been near you when entering the park as we were behind the man with the knife - he really didn't seem to understand why he couldn't take it in did he? but I do think like you it was all innocent. (assuming we're talking about the same man white hair and tan jacket?) It was really busy getting in then, think that's the longest we've queued to get in the park that day!
