I had started another thread for this cruise, but it obviously got lost in the shuffle.

Anyway..... we are going on this one - me, DW and DS(18 at cruise time).

This will be our DS's first cruise after turning 18 and he can't wait to go to Palo and hang out at the Quiet Cove pool. Plus, we will be Platinum CC members by then (one more cruise to go) and he will be able to do one of the Platinum "experiences" with us (most of them have a minimum age of 18).

And to shmoo.. Howdy neighbor! We're just above you in Oak Hill, VA. And I notice we're booked on the 8/16/11 5nt cruise together as well!

In the interest of full disclosure, this is one of 3 we have booked for 2012, though it is our first choice, until we see what the FFX county school year calendar will bring when it's decided in December. I also have the eastern booked that follows this one (should I decide to do a B2B) along with the 6/23/12 Western.

Look forward to meeting everyone!

Oh bummer! We actually decided to switch our date after I started this thread. There is a camp that Katie has been dying to go to when she is old enough and it is usually around the time of this sailing. When I booked this, I didn't even THINK about the fact that she would be old enough to go for the first time in 2012.

We are also not doing the Dream cruise next year either. We decided to just transfer to the Fantasy for the longer cruise and the better chance to have Colby potty trained. I need to go over there and post it, I just keep forgetting. However, after trying to figure out what to do, we ARE transferring to the 6-23-12 Fantasy sailing. I am banking on Fairfax being out by then, even if they get out a couple of days before. The only real chance we are taking would be if there was a HUGE snow storm that makes school go longer, but I think that after last year, we are safe for a while!

I hope you all have a great sailing and see ya if you do the 6-23-12 sailing. You might want to change to the other thread so that someone who is still sailing controls the first post!

Thanks for the welcome. One thing that will be totally different is on the Dream we are in the aft portion of deck 7 (that was where the quiet deck was) This will be the first cruise where we will have a constant view of where we have been :rotfl2:

Yes, when I retired I was determined to get away from the snow. There were many times while working at the prison in Trenton we had to stay several days because of the snow and the gov declared a state of emerg.

I never want to see another real snow flake in my life.

Many years ago I worked at the Natl Guard Armory in Lodi. If it snowed up there I used to go to the armory in Bordentown.

In 2004 we were scheduled f/a 7 day western cruise. Key West was the 1st place we were supposed to go to. There was a hurricane. Key West was cancelled we went to Costa Maya instead and several other things were added 'cause it turned into a 10 day cruise.

I know in emergencies they can change.

I've been thinking about cruising for about a year now. Seriously looking and learning about it for the past few months. And now..... we're booked through Dreams Unlimited! :cool1:

This will be our very first cruise! Our clan will consist of:

me - Mary - complete (and utterly proud of it) Disneyholic princess:

DS - Brandon - will be 16 at sailing - kind of Disney'd out :faint: but looking forward to the cruise

mom - Elsie - she'll be turning x-ty ;) a month after sailing so we'll be celebrating on our trip. I'm already thinking of all kinds of fun stuff to do with/for her

DB#3 - Matt - he'll also be 16 at sailing - very shy and quiet so I'm hoping there will be some DIS teens that he can be introduced to beforehand so he can "know" somebody when we get there

The Dream is an amazingly beautiful ship and I sooooo can't wait to actually set foot onto the Fantasy!

We just officially booked this cruise today - yippee! This will be the second cruise with DCL for our group (did a 5 day on the Magic in 2008).

Our group will include me (Elizabeth - the planner), my dh Michael, my mom Gayle, and our 4 kids...Isaac (16), Matt (15), Emily (10), and Abigail (6).

We have connecting rooms booked on deck 2 at the moment.

We just booked our rooms also and are soooooo excited! We will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and are renewing our vows :bride: on this cruise. This will be our 3rd cruise. We were originally hoping to go on the Magic (just because we thought it would be easier for us to plan the wedding on a ship we know) but we are thrilled to be going on the Fantasy!

Sofar its Me (Rosemary), Fernando Sr, fernando Jr (9 at cruise time), Sergio (4 at cruise time), Shirley (grandma), Isaaida (maid of honor) and her son Ruben (10 at sailing).

First off...... Welcome to all the new cruisers here! :welcome:

We just took a very much unplanned (and fabulous) western cruise last week on the Magic and decided that we really didn't like the new Fantasy itinerary, stopping at two Mexican ports.

So....... since we just took a Magic western (and may take another one next Feb.) we decided to change our Fantasy ressie to a 5 night on the Dream. We were able to move our ressie from this 8/18/12 cruise to the 5 night and got the 10% discount and OBC, while we were onboard.

I hope you all have a fantastic cruise and wish you all well. Since we're sailing on the Dream the day after you leave, we may be one of the people waving to you as you head down the channel. :wave2:

I'm with you on this. I think everyone is going to be sick of me by the time the cruise comes around. Already I can see DH just pretending to listen to me when I'm talking. :rolleyes1

I love the planning though almost as much as the trip itself. We are currently booked in category 5D on Deck 6. But I'm debating moving up to Deck 7 or 8 or even across to category 4 on the same deck. Its giving me lots to think about.

I was originally booked on this date; however, my family is coming to visit me in Florida. So, I have changed the date to October. I told the booking agent it was to get away from the lovebugs here in Florida. He thought that was a original reason. The love bugs are terrible here at that time. This picture shows why they are called lovebugs. They are so strong that once they get on your car if you don't clean it right away they eat the paint off of the car ;).
So anyway have a great cruise.

Methinks we should start a new thread for this cruise as the OP has moved to a different cruise and there have been quite a few others who have switched. This will be my first-ever cruise.
