Welcome everyone! This is for the March 22nd sailing of the Disney Dream. A reunion of friends from the 2008 and 2009 Member Cruises but we love meeting new people and are hoping many others join us as well.

Mark and I will be happy to do the web page and buttons as we have on our past cruises.

Website Click here (http://monorailgreen.info/2012_Reunion/index.htm) If you want to be included please send your info and picture to marygums 'at' covad.net

Thanks to Dave for setting up our own Facebook Group: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_137131636336581

Buttons Cut-off is February 29th

As in past years we will make gifts of buttons to all the DISers and their families. We do this as a way to identify the DISers to each other. We ask only 3 things: 1) you must be a poster on the DIS. In the past we've had people who just found our site via web searches. 2) we ask for your cabin number for the buttons so we can deliver them if you miss the meet. If you want your cabin posted on the site and in the mini navigator so others can find you great - if you want it kept secret we will do that as well. 3) only ask for a button if you are going to wear it. They do cost money and we would hate to waste the money if you aren't going to wear it.

DIS Meet(s)

We'll have an onboard DIS meet the day we sail. In the past we've done this at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge (on the Wonder). We'll work out something similar on the Dream. This is a great time to meet and mingle with your fellow cruisers, pick up your buttons and we'll even have some prizes for our pirate and swam winners.

Pirates/Swans

A a little game we play on the thread based on each 99th post and each 100th post. Gary (OKWMEMBER) who gave us the game on the 2008 thread has volunteered to be the pirate master this year as well. From Gary:

A reminder on how the Swan/Pirate game works:

To get a swan,
Every 99th post = 1 ES
Every 499th post = 2 ESes
Every 999th post = 3 ESes

t get a pirate.
Every 100th post = 1 Pirate
Every 500th post = 2 Pirates
Every 1000th post = 3 Pirates

OK, In the interest of fair play and WWWD (What would Walt do), I would like to propose some simple rules for the Swan and Pirate game.
If there is only one swan/pirate at stake and you don't have one yet, please wait until 95 posts are in for that run, then GO NUTS WITH THE POSTS!!!
Also, when there's more than one Swan/Pirate on the line, please don't do the multiple post thing. That's more in the spirit on the game,
to get more people involved in the thread. OK, I'm off my soapbox now. These are the rules we had on the other thread I had the game on.
I hope no one is offended and we have a great time with the game.

Your Humble Pirate Master,
Gary

The Sunrise Club with your hosts Dave & Sue

Once onboard come meet up in the early morning near the drink station with your fellow DISers and your drink of choice (coffee, tea, Pepsi are all welcome). A great way to review the previous day and have some fun. Last time we even learned how to make towel animals.

What you can do!

First and foremost become a regular poster. Many of us know each other but if you are new or have sailed with some and not others here's your chance to get to know everyone. The thing we have found is that while cruising DCL is great - it is the friends we've made that have made it special!

YIPPEE !!!! We Did It!!

I'm soooooo happy about this cruise! I can't believe we did it - we found a date for all of us so that we can all cruise together again!! I look at our pictures all the time, especially our anniversary photo with Chris & Bob and Dave & Tanya that I have in the ssmc09 picture frame, and I really and truly miss all of you!

I Can't Wait!!

Mary, I think you usually book your cruises through a TA. Do you think your TA could do the bookings for all of us, like a group thing and can he/she get any perks by doing that? Just thought I'd ask!

WDWLVR
10-22-2010, 11:26 AM
We are booked! Just got off the phone. We'll be on deck 8.

Sue - yes we book through a TA. I'll send you some info on facebook. Not sure if there are any perks or discounts but they do a great job.

WOO HOO...going to see all of you from the member cruise and from facebook. Very excited, something to look forward to and plan my FE gifts early...get the brain in gear. I might be able to talk my adult children into joining now that it is this far out...they can save their sheckles!

This is going to be fun and Suzi, I expect to see you sneaking in to win the pirates and swans!

Good Morning Sunrise Club. Hope every one is well. Its kind of funny how this all worked out.

On the SSMC09 cruise we deposited for a future cruise, well we never took it. and they had placed us on a dec 5th cruise date,

Well they had also attached a travel agent, that we did not have and they could not reach them, to contact us about paying for the Dec 5th cruise, which we never intended to take. So I had to pick another cruise yesterday, and since it was sounding pretty sure about the March 22, 2012 sailing, I booked it while at work. Only to find out, that is the cruise that was decided upon for sure, when I got home from work. It really made me feel good.:thumbsup2

Have a great day!

I have only ever booked SSMC cruises. Do you all use a TA or do you call DCL or do you book online. Or are you using points?

Quick tell me what is the best way to book the non-DVC cruise?

I have got to get off my Droid while trying to do this and get on my laptop. It is just taking me too long to navigate the web here. :lmao:

I have got to research this cruise and see what I am doing. This is great!

I think it's not working because there is a hard limit of how much you can put in a signature vertically, your second countdown ticker is already being cut off.

Without removing something already there, not really sure how to get the graphic in there, maybe try putting it in between the two tickers? If you try this, make sure you're not putting a <enter> between them, they need to be on the same line.

Good morning everyone! A blessed Sunday to you all. I'm blessed to call you friends and I'm super excited to have this cruise booked.

Found out that the website software I've used before is out of date (we hadn't put it back on when Mark upgraded my computer) so I got a brand new software to learn. I'm working on the website and hope to have it up (at least in some version) by tomorrow night. I had taken a break from doing it for our last two cruises (though we did buttons for our July '10 cruise) but I'm looking forward to doing it again. Plus there is so much to share with the new ship.

Good Morning to the Sunrise Coffee Club and all of my Cruisin' Buddies!

Wow does it sound good to say THAT again!

Had an event from Friday night and all day yesterday - I came back and looked in on the thread at 1 am when we finally got in, and you guys have gone crazy! I can't believe how many are booked already! Oh and now you can count us in that number - WE'RE BOOKED! Deck 10. :yay:

Now what seating dinner are people doing and which show? On the Dream, you have to pick a show time too!

Yes it is a blessed Sunday! We are all going to be together again!

Flo, I really hope you can book in December! You, too, Susan!!

:banana::banana: Sue - yay you are booked!!!!!! I was wondering about ya. This is gonna be one of the best cruises ever. :thumbsup2

I believe we have late dining with 7 pm show. Will have to check with Bob when he gets home cuz he did all the booking. I just throw my two cents in when he asks questions :rolleyes1.

And yes, I hope Flo will be able to book too! Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!
Sue you are right, it does feel good to say that again! Have a great day everyone.

Love to hear that from you and Sue . . . . "Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!"Good Morning Everyone

It is a beautiful morning here...sun is shining and it's 63 degrees right now. Our daughter was home from college for a couple of days and sadly....we have to take her back later on this morning.

Sue....we are on deck 10 too. Late dinner seating and our show is at 7pm. Can't wait!!!!!

Have a great day and take care.

Oh, Monika. Yay for a visit from your daughter and boo, she is going back to school this afternoon. But they do grow up don't they???

Friday night was the first of the last for our oldest. It was Senior Parent night at the football game for the kids that were in football, marching band and cross country. Gonna be a rough year.

Well, here I am - the wandering lost one. I think Barb & I will be joining this cruise group. It's been great keeping up with you all on facebook and we can't wait to see everyone again (it just seems so far away).
I don't spend alot of time on the discussion boards, but I"ll be lurking and chiming in when I get a chance.

Hi Ray! Glad you will be joining in. I don't think we actually met on the '09 member cruise, so I am hoping to meet in person this time. We're booked! Cabin 8012, main dining. Here we go!

:woohoo:

Good Morning fellow cruisers, it does sound good.

Happy Sunday to you,

I will be glad to take care of dining as long as someone tells me how to do this.

I will need lots of advise I am sure. I really want to do my share to make this a good cruise for all of us.:banana:

Thanks Dianne for doing this. We would love to link dining. With everyone! :rotfl2: Do you think we could just take over one whole dining room??? :lmao:

Who all is sailing on the Dream before our cruise? I know Monika and Michael. Anyone else? We're counting on you to come back and give us all the hints on the ship. It's a tough job but someone has to do it. :)

Just want to share some info with you. We have been shipping a box with our FE gifts, small room fan and other small items to the port....what a life saver. Less worries...more space in suitcases. I have the address to the port warehouse. Let me know...maybe it can be added to the first page.

The other thing we did and will definitely do again...ship our FE gifts home. Boardwalk, Contemporary, Coronado Springs, Grand Floridian and Yacht Club all have business centers that are operated by IKON Office Solutions. What we did was get a box from the business center, took it back to our room, packed the box and then returned to the business center. It was shipped that afternoon. It was delivered via UPS (we shipped Friday...got home from Florida on Monday, the package arrived on Wednesday). The only things we brought with us was the packing tape. If anyone wants to know prices...I still have the paper with that info. I also have phone #'s.

Bolding and color is mine. I agree 100%. I'd rather see lots of people get them than one or two people because they come in with 10 or more posts to go and just do smilies etc. It is much more fun your way.

I so agree Monika. We did that after the last two cruises. Shipped all the gifts we got home and it was like Christmas then when the box showed up. And we found that when we stayed at the Poly we just went up to the desk and asked about shipping and they told us to go to the store and ask for a box, pack it up and bring it back to them and they would take care of the rest. Last year since we were at BLT we went to the business center, bought a box from them, packed it up, took it back and they did the rest. It cost us $32.25 last year to ship the box home. It was so very easy. And we will do it again in a heart beat.

Ray,

They do on the Magic and Wonder. Early dinner/late show and late dinner/early show. However the Dream is so much bigger that there are two dining times and three show times. So you have to pick with of the two show times you want to go to. Hope that makes sense.

Dianne asked about transportation from the airport to the port and using the Disney Transportation or limo service. Well, my question is what is the best limo service to use?

We used one once and the ride out to the port was great. Driver nice and friendly, plenty of room in the car for all of us and our stuff. But, using the same service back from the port to WDW we all thought we were going to DIE! The driver was crazy. Not enough room in the trunk for our luggage and he was very rude when we got to our destination. So we have been very hesitant of using a town car service again.

So who would you recommend if you have used a good one? Or can you say who to use here? :confused3

Don't know if I can say but we used FLTours and the last time was Aladdin Limo Service. We have had exceptionally good luck. I have heard of others using the first one and getting stranded.

We've only used a limo service once from the port. It was Southern Elegance and they were fantastic. We took a limo from the port to the Beach Club, then a town car from the Beach Club to the airport the next day. This was back in 2004 after our 10 day cruise. Well we left a tube in the limo that had a Ducky Williams sketch we had won. They called later that afternoon to tell us and passed it on to the driver of the town car to return to us.

With two of us, we take the bus...love it. They take your luggage and you don't have to worry about a thing...the bus picks you up at 11:45 and off to the terminal. We have left from the airport, from the hotel at the airport, from SSR and from VWL. It is relaxing to us...$140 for two roud trip.

The excitement is building around here. I did my cruise research the other night and narrowed down the rooms. I sent a text to my BFF (college roommate) the other day to see if she was interested in joining and her initial response was yes. I emailed her all the details late last night so as soon as I hear back from her I will book.:banana:

Question on the user signature.

For some reason one of my counters stopped working. You see the url text but not the picture and I had not done anything to change it. I went in to look at it and when I hit preview it says I used a censored word.

In my signature????

Has anyone seen this before?

Lisa,

I've seen that on a number of people's tickers (not just on this thread but over the DIS). I remember seeing something on the tech board a while ago about one website with tickers being blocked due to a virus problem at that site. Note sure if that is yours or not.

I know you had told us about Grilles, and we have eaten there several times. When we were down for our last cruise, we weren't up for the wait and someone told us about Millikens Reef, It was VERY good. What a view of the actual harbor area. Just something different.

Slightly off topic (but with this group what is really off topic) - has anyone here ever stayed at Port Orleans Riverside?

We had some reservation points that needed to be used so we're booked for 4 nights in March to see Flower and Garden. Since Port Orleans is one of the few WDW resorts we've never stayed at we thought we'd give it a try.

Mary....when are you going to be there next March? We are going on an Eastern cruise Feb 26-March 5. We will be at WDW March 5-6, 2011

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside when it was known as Dixie Landings. We stayed there a few times and really loved it.

Before and after our cruise we will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. That will be our first time staying there. Looking forward to that.

Riverside is our most favorite resort even over the deluxe hotels. The grounds are beautiful. They have won many awards for the grounds of Riverside. I love to take the boat and go by the treehouses...it is very tranquil. I do not like the bayou...no elevators, but love the mansions. Bayou is great for kids, as they have a trundle bed. I like the food court too.
It is just a pretty resort. Hope you like it.

Chris-Speaking of pizza and beer, Gary was telling me that you no longer have to carry your mug around for beer, they provide you with one at each place you go. Did you have that on the SSMC? That is a much better idea than carry that anchor around the ship and through the airports.

Good Morning my cruisin' buddies!

Okay, this is like a roll call!! Please, please - all of our friends from the midwest or anyone who has had this bad weather lately - Please check in and let us know that you are okay! The weather that I have seen on the news has been terrible and I just want to know that you are all safe and sound!!

Yes, as Dave said, we are slated for the same system to come through today, but they say it will now be as severe as it was out there. So it's gonna be a wet one here!

And of course, this is the day that we planned to take our British friends to Lancaster, PA to shop at all the outlets and see Amish country! Looks like we should take our umbrellas!! :sad2:

Everyone have a great day and let us know that you are alright!

Good morning everyone!

Crazy day in Chicagoland yesterday. It was in the 70's in the morning with high winds and heavy rain. Then the temperature dropped some 20 degrees. Brrrrr! Today is just supposed to be windy.

Have a great day everyone!

I started the Biggest Loser Meal Plan today. Breakfast was barf, lunch less barf, dinner tolerable, but the triple chocolate brownie cookies made it great. I don't know if I can do this...one day at a time. I did a test to see what my biological age was like they do on Dr. Oz, only this was through work...chronologically I am 60, biological age 71 and I am aging 2 years for every one due to my weight and inactivity...SO, I need to reverse this...maybe I should turn to sleeping pills so I don't think of FOOD..I am a grazer...love to graze all night in front of the tv, or while reading a book. Send me some pixie dust and prayers!!!

Well, I left my beer mug in our owner's locker but I had it with on the members cruise, but they stopped using the ones with the DCL or ESPN logo and just had plain glasses so mine stayed in our owners locker. I didn't even use it on the members cruise cuz I didn't wanna lose it. So, I don't really know. But from what I saw, you still had to carry the mug around. :confused3 So I guess I'm not sure. Besides, I took some of my own beer on board and didn't buy alot. I was drinking other things this time.

Oh, Sue. We have had such winds. OMG they have been horrible. In fact around 11:00 am or so this morning we had two light polls tip over right outside of the courthouse on to a major street in town. We are just thankful no cars or people were driving by/walking when they fell. We had people in the backroom of our office hear them crash on to the street.

In fact we even saw a little of that horrible four letter word today --- SNOW! :scared1:http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/mjludden/Magnet%20Pics/thLady__the_Tramp_rings.jpgHAPPY ANNIVERSARY, MARY & MARK

I just found this on cruise critic about the Dream and wanted to share

The ship's horn featured prominently in "Sail Away," the line's popular bon-voyage deck party, is getting a makeover. It'll toot not just the first line of "When You Wish Upon a Star," but it'll be able to answer with the song's second line: "Makes no difference who you are." The result? Disney Dream will be able to answer a passing DCL ship's call.

Good Morning my Cruisin' Buddies!

Well, my British friends leave today around 6 pm for an evening flight home! I will miss them very much and probably won't see them for at least another year, if they plan another visit here. So it will be emails and facebook - but not quite the same. They are really nice people and we have a great time when we are together!

And speaking of great people who have a fantastic time when we're together - look at us - our cruise is growing!! I have to go back and say welcome to a new name I didn't recognize! Wow, this cruise is going to be soooo much fun! :thumbsup2

Sue - that really depends on the posters. I would say since just about everyone who was still posting here is now posting here it best to let it die. If it keeps going and then hits 3750 posts then we can certainly start a new thread. I haven't looked at the post count to see how close it is to that.

Well, I made it through the first day without cheating. I am not really hungry, I just feel sick from not eating sugar and junk. This morning's breakfast was ok...I keep reminding myself that no food is going to taste as good as my comfort food laiden with fat and sugar. This food is meant to nourish me, and keep me alive. SO, I am still hopeful.

Good Morning.

It's Finally Friday!!!!!

No dressing up here. Guess no body thought about it at work. Oh, well. Have fun for those that are.

One week from today we will be on a plane right now heading to Minneapolis to go to Orlando. Can't wait. It has turned cold here already and I am not liking it one little bit. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.

Gotta run to work! Have a great day everyone! :flower3:

Good Morning and Happy Friday!!!!!!

No plans for the weekend....relaxing. It is 46 degrees here, sunny and windy. Not too bad...could be worse. Enjoyed the 70 degree temps last week but sadly I think those warm days may be done for this year.

CHRIS....hope your week goes quickly. Just the thought of being in WDW...I'm jealous. :)I have to wait until December. I can't wait.

Have a great day and take care.

Monika - hope your good luck with the weather continues. We were down to 28 degrees this morning on our drive in to work. That is just getting to dang cold.

And yes we hope this next week goes by quickly. But then the weekend needs to go sloooooooowwwwww. Seeing how we will be there for such a short time. But it is enough to get us through until March.

And your signature is great! Buh Bye Now! hahahahaha :lmao:
