I'm glad someone started a thread. I didn't do it because the last time I did, we had to cancel the cruise.
For our family, it's Me (Christopher), June (DW aka junesgoofy) and our three boys - ages 17, 14 and 10 when we cruise. We have two rooms on Deck 7.
My parents are also joining us!
This will be our 6th cruise for us. We are looking forward to the new ships. We were wanting to do the Dream in 2011, but decided to hold out for a longer itinerary. We've never done an Eastern, so this is perfect for us.
Ironically, we live in the same city (Denver) as Brenda and James (dencord7 and family) and we've also cruised with them in August 2008 on the Panama Canal repositioning cruise.

This will be the fourth Disney Cruise for us and we have never done an Eastern either.
We did a 4 day Christmas Cruise in 2003.
We did a 14 day P C Repo In 2005 loved it so much we did it again in 2008 and what was great the second time it was a day longer and had three different ports. Total we have spent 33days on the Wonder and Magic
Looking forward to the Eastern although Sea days are my favorite. Only consern I have had is the size of the Adult Pool. Hoping its bigger than it looks.

Cruising from our family will by myself - Kayla, DH, DD (12) and, DS (10) (children's ages at the time of sailing).
This will be our 4th cruise. We haven't done an eastern either and we couldn't be more excited!! We have cruised twice on the wonder and have done the western. So glad to be back to a longer cruise!!!!
We have 2 rooms on Deck 9.
Now we just have to tick away the days!!!!

We'll be with you all as well!
Cruising will be me (Patsy) and my husband (Tom). Our two boys will be joining us. Lucas will be 2 the day the ship leaves and Owen will be 21 months.
Lucas will celebrate his 3rd birthday on the 3rd so we're excited that he'll get to spend time in Oceaneers (assuming he is potty trained).
I've previously done a 4-night on the Wonder with Disney. My husband has never cruised before. We're very excited!

I made my husband feel old the other day, too. When they announced the maiden voyage was going to be on 4/7/12 I tried to convince him that we needed to go because that will be my 25th birthday. I told him they were calling to me.... he didn't buy it. He was even more upset when I said he could celebrate being 30 on board!

Hi everyone. I was just reading a thread about the cabanas on Castaway Cay. They only allow 6 people and it breaks down to $83 per person. We have 4 people in our party. I was wondering if another group has 8 and wants to get side by side cabins and two can be in our cabana? Or if there is a group of 2 that want to join us?
I keep forgetting this cruise is 2012! In my mind it is this summer! Augh! how will we make it 20 months?

Hi all!
Looking forward to our first on the Fantasy!!! On this cruise it will be myself, 32m (at time of cruise), and dw 31 (TifffanyD) turning 32 while on board. We never thought we'd be able to swing a birthday DCL cruise for her due to summer rates, but looks like this one is right before the rates go up. If we make it on all of the cruises we currently have planned, this will mark our 7th DCL sailing. As of today, we've been on two 3-night sailings, but we have our first 7-night coming up this Saturday, 10/30!!!!!!

I could seriously slap myself. I had this date on hold for a cat 11C and decided it was too expensive and booked the Dream for April instead. Now, I'm wanting this one back and 11C isn't available anymore. I can still get an 11A cabin, and it's only $126 more expensive, but it's the point. Also, does anyone know what months Disney has offered 'Kids Sail Free' promotion in the past. I know that no offer is ever guaranteed but I'm wondering when they'd offer one if they would. I'm debating on June 2nd vs May 19th.

Which RCI ship were you on? I priced out the 6/2/2012 Oasis Eastern Caribbean cruise for comparison purposes to our cruise. I was a little nervous about cost for this cruise, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.
Anyway, the Oasis's 6/2/2012 itinerary goes to Nassau instead of Castaway Cay. It also has 3 Sea Days and will be going to St. Thomas and St. Maarten, but on the opposite days as us. Thank goodness we won't be at port the same day as that huge ship!
Regardless, the Oasis started at $1,215 for an inside stateroom. For our family of 5 booking in the exact cabin categories and exact date as our cruise, the Oasis priced out to be $1,100 more than Disney!!!

We went on the Grandeur of the Seas. One of the smaller ones, but we had such a great time. :) I have a picture of our ship docked right next to the Oasis and ours looked like a tugboat compared to that one. :rotfl:
I know, I couldn't believe it that the Oasis was that much more than the Disney cruise!

My husband doesn't "get" the Disney bug that I have. His family never vacationed though so he doesn't get going anywhere, ever, at all. I seriously think something is wrong with him.
Luckily he realizes it's important to me so he grumbles and goes along with it. I think he'll love cruising though. I've tried to sell him with thoughts of sitting by a pool all day, going to see a movie, having our food delivered and doing no dishes or anything and it seems to be working so far... :upsidedow
We're headed to WDW the first weekend of December... maybe he'll fall victim to the Disney fever.

Most of my husband family is the same way they never go anywhere to them its a waste of money:rotfl2:. I am a total Disney nut and have gone many of times on Cruises and both Disneyland and World. One of my husband sister went with us once to Disneyland. We took his Mom with us on the PC Repo in 2008 and my husbands sisters tried to talk her out of it. I really think thier motives were not good.
We have to limit what we spend our money on to ensure we can have a nice vacation every year. We do this by limiting eating out and we dont spend tons of money on little things, we keep focus on the vacation and that is why I like booking far in advance so I can see the balance go down.
But often I find family around you think you have extra cash if you go on vacation. And they have no clue what you give up to do that.
Piecey: I decided that I wanted to take some of our grandchildren with us on this cruise. My Husband said your crazy. I said if you dont want to go that ok I will take them myself. My Husband said I will shut up, because he said he not staying home while I get to Cruise:rotfl:

We have this cruise on hold for a few days so haven't booked yet, but I hope we get to! I've got to talk with my family about it, but how could they not love the idea of this cruise???
It would be our 4th cruise (all with Disney). We are going on our third cruise next June on the Magic to the Mediterranean, so that might be the catch - we'll have to see how much money we have left after that trip - ha!

Hi everyone! We just switched over to this sailing. We were booked on the Fantasy's Western caribbean route, but I decided I like the Eastern route better, with the 3 days at sea! :goodvibes
It will be me and my DS (11), at sail time. We're booked in an 11C Gty, so no room assignment as yet. And I'm glad I put this cruise on hold when I did, cuz now the same category is $500 more dollars! :scared1: Those inside cabins must be popular, as now the insides cost more than the oceanviews!
The Dream's float-out yesterday was SO exciting! We're sailing on her next year for a quick 3-nighter, after we visit WDW.
Look forward to getting to know everyone! :)

Glad to see that a meet thread has been started. On the cruise will be me (Angie), DH Bruce, and 2 DDs (11 & 9 - really almost 12 & 10 at the time of cruise). We've been on a double-dip Western in '06 and an Eastern (Tortola & St. Thomas) in '09. I'm trying to get my parents to come with us since they'll turn 70 in August & October of that year. My mom can't commit to something so far out but I've told her that prices have already gone up. We're in a cat 11B. There were no 11Cs left & I supposedly got the last 11B. I wanted to just be on the ship so I booked the cheapest room I could. Hoping for an upgrade but will be happy to just be on the ship.

My MIL called me today she watched the Aqua duck today on Good Morning America. Well I thought I would tease her and ask her if she going to ride it. To my suprise she said sure it looked pretty slow " so I can handel it". I watched the video do you really think its going to be that slow?.
I was hoping I could see the Pools all I saw was a tiny bit and all I thought was the pool I saw was small.
June 2012 is so far away that I think it will give us lots of time to get to know one another.
I also noticed there is a Volleyball court, so I was thinking it would be fun to get a game together on one of the sea day. We could even do a mini golf event maybe adults and kids, thats if they dont all leave us for thier own clubs.

On my Wonder sailing a bunch of the moms got together in the Cove cafe one morning and put together pirate "goodie" bags for the kids to get at dinner. Eye patches, glow in the dark stickers, jewelry, gold coins, etc... it was really neat :)

WELCOME CRUISERS!
Getting to know all of you DISers before the cruise helps make the cruise more enjoyable.
Here is some information I found on another Dis site for DCL cruises that I thought may be helpful to those on our cruise.
MAGNETS
Milliepie and tjbaggott do great custom magnet work and can be found on the magnet threads on Dis boards.
Cruise magnet graphics can be found on this thread:

FISH EXTENDER EXCHANGE SIGN UP:
We will need to have a person to lead up the Fish Extender (FE) program to get the following information organized for the group.
1. Your DISboard name.
2. Stateroom Number
3. Names, ages and gender of everyone in your stateroom that will be participating in the FE Exchange.
There are always questions such as "Is there a price minimum or maximum?" "Do we give one gift for each stateroom or one gift per person in each stateroom?" "Do we give a gift each night or just one night?" The answer to all of you is this: It's entirely up to you. If you guys want to set some minimum/maximum amounts, per stateroom or per person gift, that's entirely up to all of you. I think everyone just does what they're comfortable with and everyone is always happy to receive gifts no matter how big or small!
One note: IF we find out that there will NOT be FISHIES outside our stateroom door, I suppose we'll change the name of the "extender exchange" to whatever it is. From interior pictures posted of the Dream the Fish Extenders look very much like the ones on the Magic and the Wonder, but we will not know for sure until January 2011 when guests start sailing on the Dream and post back information for others on these boards.
Participating in the Fish Extender Exchange is completely optional. Feel free to do or spend whatever you're comfortable with. As for the Fish Extender itself, some people buy them, others want to make theirs, whatever you choose is fine. The same rule applies to the "goodies"! You can buy or make them!

DIS MEET
DIS Meet - Sailing Day:
Time and place to be determined at a later date.
Possible meeting places on the Dream for a meet and Greet:
Deck 3 Lobby – Bon Voyage Bar
Deck 14 – Outlook Bar
Deck 4 – Vista Cafe
PORT CAMERAS
Some people like to view the Disney ships leave port. As the time was getting closer to our sail away date last year, some posters in the '09 thread would log on every Sunday to watch the Disney Wonder sail away. So, if anyone is interested in watching the Wonder or Magic sail away, here are the port cameras:
Port Canaveral Webcam

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Passports - do I need one?
Having a passport is ideal. However, a birth certificate with a valid photo ID will be permissible.
From DCL website:
Passport Information
Guests are responsible for obtaining proper documentation to board the ship. U.S. Government passport requirements continue to change; therefore, we strongly encourage Guests of all ages to have a valid U.S. passport for all cruises. Having a passport allows you to always be prepared to travel wherever you wish, and offers an added measure of security when you're traveling.
For air travel, however, the deadline was January 23, 2007. This means that all travelers, including U.S. Citizens and all foreign nationals, traveling to the United States by air, such as Guests flying to Orlando, Florida from Canada, are required to carry a valid passport after the effective date.
From Dept. of Homeland Security website (thanks eroinm (Michael)):
How will the final WHTI requirements affect passengers going on cruises?
U.S. citizens on closed-loop cruises (cruises that begin and end at the same port in the U.S.) will be able to enter or depart the country with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate and government-issued photo ID. A U.S. citizen under the age of 16 will be able to present either an original or a copy of his or her birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by DOS, or a Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Please be aware that you may still be required to present a passport when you dock at a foreign port, depending on the islands or countries that your cruise ship is visiting. Check with your cruise line to ensure you have the appropriate documents for the stops you’ll be making on your cruise.
When can I book excursions, reservations at Palo, and/or register the kids for the kids' clubs?
120 days before the sail date if you are a Platinum Castaway Club Member (sailed with DCL 10 or more times)
105 days before the sail date if you are a Gold Castaway Club Member (sailed with DCL 5 or more times)
90 days before the sail date if you are a Silver Castaway Club Member (sailed with DCL once before)
75 days before the sail date for everyone
When is Pirate Night?
Pirate night on most cruises:
4 day Cruise on day 3 Tuesday Castaway Cay
7 day Cruise on day 4 Tuesday St. Marteen
(Information as of December 2010 and is subject to change)

Greetings! We're booked! We're hoping as it gets closer we will be able to keep this cruise-booking this far out and guessing at our sons' school schedules is new, but right now we hope it will work for us and we can't wait!
We would love to do the meet-n-greet and the FEs. Please put us down to participate! Looking forward to meeting y'all soon.:)
It will be four of us-me, DH, and our boys DS1 (21) and DS2 (20). If our guys have their way, there may be another room of nice college kids (and their parents) coming-our kids are cruise-snobs :laughing:and only want me to book the Disney ships! :woohoo: They've made it their mission to try to get their friends to see what we are nuts about-the ship decor, the food, the service, the friendliness, the SPA, the excursions, Castaway Cay, Wavebands, the adult pool, etc....we can't wait!

We just moved our cruise from the Dream on June 3, 2011 to this one. It will be me (41), DW Marilyn (41), DS Chris (12) and DD Sarah (5).
This will be our first cruise ever (unless we take a short one out of Galveston this upcoming summer to hold us over.) My son will actually turn 12 the last day of this cruise.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone!

We are officially booked on this cruise and after weeks of lurking I've finally decided to join the DISboards!
Traveling will be myself, DH, DS5 and DD2 (turning 3 the day after we disembark). We'll be celebrating DD's birthday on-board though (can't pass up such a wonderful opportunity). Also with us will be my parents (first-time cruisers).
Looking forward to hearing everyone's planning...ugh such a long wait!

Hello Everyone! I am pretty excited about this cruise. We are in the process of booking with a large group of our friends. So far we have myself - Carrie and my husband Jeff and our two girls (8 and 7 at sailing), with my in laws and another family with their two girls. We have another three families that are interested in going with us, but haven't committed yet.
We were on a 5 day cruise on the Wonder this summer to Key West, Nassau, and Castaway Cay. That cruise was a gift from my in laws and was one of the greatest vacations ever. My daughters have both asked to go on the new Disney ship and were willing to give up birthday gifts to do it!
The first day of this cruise will be our 11th anniversary!
I really look forward to getting to know you all as we count down and sharing the excitement with a group that really understands!
And I guess I need to update my signature for my next post!

Hi everyone. I have several PM's to get to. I have had a horrible few weeks. On November 20th, my father passed away after battling cancer for a year. He lives out of state and I was able to make it up there before he passed and stayed until after the funeral.
Over the last several months, I have been taking my daughter to doctors to try to get her foot healed. She has a foot issue and had just been put into a wheelchair before the funeral.
Upon return home, we were involved in a car accident. A girl texting did not stop at the light and the front of her vehicle ended up in the back of my new Honda Van. My mother, daughter and myself were injured and my van was a total loss. Everything in the back of the van was crushed. Thank goodness my daughter was in the center seat, not the back or she would have been seriously injured.
So even though I dropped into the boards a little, I could not bring myself to think of my upcoming cruise.
I am going to go through each message and add you to the facebook. I have found that I have to be friends with you before I can add you. If you want to go ahead and be-friend me just include on the friendship request that you want to be including on the Fantasy cruise. I think you can put in facebook.com/hamandayoung.

Count us in too! We have two cat. 5a staterooms on deck 10. This will be cruise #2 for my trio, and we are bringing my parents along for their very first cruise. Best of all DD's SWEET SIXTEEN is June 2nd (embarkation day)!
Our party:
Me (Diane Rowe, age 44 when we cruise)
DH (Devin Rowe, age 40 when we cruise)
DD (Katie Rowe, age 16 when we cruise)
This is my trio, and we will be in stateroom 10066.
Also traveling with us are my parents, Ronnie and Judy Taylor, who will be in stateroom 10064.
Count my daughter in for FE's. I would like to make a special request for participants to give her a b-day card...she will "freak out." ;) I will be responsible for gathering gifts for the other participants, but her father and I will not participate in the receiving. It's her special b-day, and we'll let her enjoy the receiving.
I am soooo excited!

Just booked a category 9B oceanview room. This will be DH and I's second cruise and DDs' 1st cruise. This will be the first time sailing with Disney. My family consists of myself, Jaime, DH Shannon, DD Jaden (will be 11 at cruise time) and DD Madison (Madi who will be 7 at cruise time). They don't know hat we are going on a cruise. I need to think of a good way to tell them.

Hello, BigTex71! It's sort of funny...we were booked on the Dream one week prior to your original 2011 Dream cruise. Now here we are: Two groups of Texans RE-booked on the same 2012 cruise. My daughter's b-day is on day one, and your son's b-day is on the final day (or did you mean last day of the Galveston cruise?) Small world, eh?
I've looked into a cruise or two out of Galveston before, but we've not taken the plunge. Maybe one day...

I hope you all had a wonderful day. Santa was very generous here in our household and my boys are so content.
Now, we are bracing for 18-20 inches of snow!! I guess I need to get to the store tomorrow!! The thought of cruising in the nice warm sunshine is what gets me through this horrible weather. I am so not a snow person.

Hello! This is the first cruise we have ever booked. We always said if we were ever to take a cruise it would have to be Disney!
I am Marcella (37) and will be with my mom Lydia (57), dad Phil (63) they are divorced but are now very good friends (separate cabins of course!) Nathan (16), Josh (9) and Charna (7).
I know the kids would love to be able to count on a friend or 2 especially the oldest as he can be shy. The younger ones have never met a stranger.

I've not signed up yet because I'm not 100% on this cruise. :guilty: I would love to say I won't change my mind, but my boys are so young that it is really hard to commit for sure!
My youngest (4 months) has some health issues that *should* be okay by then but I'm trying not to let myself commit whole-heartedly to this cruise should something creep up that we'd need to cancel.

We don't mind, just post until you get to 10! You can tell us all kinds of fun stuff. I am planning out the actual fish extender for each of the families going with us. I think the planning might be the BEST part!
Anyway, I am now debating the main dining vs late seating. I think I want to do the main dining, late just seems TOO late, :confused3KWIM? What seating are you all doing and thoughts on it?
I have also been looking at the excusions for our ports. Some of them look really good. I am also debating giving my husband the golf excursion on St. Thomas. It is expensive, but how often will he get to golf in the Carribean?

We like late dining. This gives us a little more time to get back on ship/get ready. We also have the 2nd show, so that it's right before dinner. We did early dining once just to see what it was like and got seated with people much much much older than us (early bird special, anyone? :rotfl:). We aren't doing that again!

We are main seating on the dining. I figured it would be easier to switch to late later if we wanted than to get back to main. Plenty of time to change my mind.
As of right now my oldest (18months) is a champ. He goes to bed about 10:30, sleeps until about 10, and naps daily from 2-5ish. We rarely eat until 8 and he did awesome with late ADRs at WDW a few weeks ago- we usually made ADRs for 8:30.
I want to wait to see how my youngest (4 months) will be with sleep before I think about switching. We might need main to accomodate him. Hopefully he'll be like his brother, though, I'd much prefer late seating!

I keep going back in forth on which would be better but I don't want to feel rushed and figure he can always do Dine and Play. Hoping he might be able to master the art of napping by then or at least letting his mommy nap:)

Yikers - got caught up in all the holiday craziness and have not been on the boards at all. I'm so glad the FE has been started, sounds like so much fun - thanks for organizing it Alamere! I need to get to 10 posts!
No problem...I'm an obsessive-compulsive planner, so I enjoy having something to focus on while we wait for the cruise!! Once you get to 10 posts, just send me a message and I will add your info to the list!!

We also prefer late dining. The timing of dinner has always fit well with how we handle our busy ship schedule...ahem, I mean our gluttony and sloth ;).
TiffanyD, I think we participated in the FE together for our Nov '09 Wonder cruise?
Lots of birthdays on this cruise! My DD will be turning 9 on June 9 when they kick us off the boat. (I really don't like it when they do that!)
My husband and I are joking that my new years resolution is to NOT go to Disney in 2011. Somehow.... I always manage to squeeze a trip in :rolleyes1 I think all of the construction at the parks will help keep me away. Besides, I have the Fantasy to look forward to. :yay:

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Yep, just need to keep chatting my way to 10 posts...
So we decided on main dining because I, too had heard how difficult it is to get it. Sounds like many of you prefer late though, yes?
I'll have a 5 year old and almost 3 at the time and I didn't want any grumpy-stripes at dinner. But now that I see everyone's rationale, i may need to re-think this. Late afternoon naps - love this! We'll also be on Hawaii Standard Time, so 5 (or is it 6?) hours behind EST. Then again, my oldest had no problem adjusting when we visited Japan at 10 months old. Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

I just called our TA to switch us to early dining since it fills first. This way if I think my DS, 6 at sailing, can handle late dining I can make the change back to late dining. I want to pack as much is a possible but don't want him falling asleep in his dinner:) This happened on our past Thanksgiving trip to the Dominican Republic! The people sitting around us thought is was hilarious...well I did too.

Yes, we did! I remember your name :)
Were you theo ne with the door with the KTTW card wreath? And the paper bag album for the gift? Or were you one of the cd's? We did the little "booty bags" of pirate stuff for that one!

Yeah, I would really prefer to do late dining. I feel like to make the early seating you cut your day by quite a bit to get ready and to the dining room on time. But like previously stated, it's harder to get so that is what I have us on right now. I know it will be easier to switch to late should DS2 have the same schedule as his brother.
I haven't looked into the new ships show schedules, but aren't those different now too? I wasthinking there were 3 times.

Nope, I try, but I'm not terribly crafty. Too cool, I rember that wreath as well and save my KTTW cards just incase I'm inspired. We did the Nerd stuff, Dry erase magnets, and the highlighter-dry erase-keychains. We were FE virgins and were just blown away by all the cool things we received. The pirate goodies were a great hit with my kids! pirate:
Oh the Dine and Play! We LOVE that! :woohoo: It was one of the things we really missed on our Carnival cruise.

Hi all:wave2: my family of 5 will be on this cruise too, me DW45, DH48, DD16, DD14 & DS11. I wanted to jump in here and ask if anyone got some cruise documents this week, the one thats like a post card book and says when you have to make your final payment and such? Well anyway mine says that it's for a western Caribbean cruise. I was going to call DCL but I decided to log onto my reservation and it is truly an Eastern. But for a few minutes there I was worried they switched the itinerary on me. Did this happen with anyone else?

Well, getting there anyway. Good morning all! Part of the group that is going with us have been debating on when to book and if parents were going to go and so on. I was out on the Disney website last night, and it looks like to the lowest catagory Oceanview staterooms still available is 8B. They haven't changed the price on those, but it looks like we are filling up!
We did decide to move to the main dining now. This is the seating we did on the cruise last summer and it was fine. I guess because we were a big group (11 last time, 18 this time) I didn't notice the other diners! I figure if we need to switch back later, it will be easier to go the other way.
Hope everyone is staying warm. I am dreaming of the warm beach!

Hi,
I got those also and called DCL - they told me they out sourced their mailing and they got all messed up. They are working on the fix and will have new communication coming out soon to fix the mistake. Our trip is still scheduled for the Eastern Caribbean.

We're in one of the starboard forward rooms.
I'm reading the "Special Rooms" thread quite a bit now, trying to get confirmation that we won't have to go up in the forward elevators, walk to the midship elevators and go down to get to Oceaneers. That seems crazy, but it's what the deck plans are showing.

Glad someone is organizing fe's. So many participated on our last cruise the we go something everyday, sometimes more than once a day. Look forward to cruising with you all.

Greetings everyone from Chattanooga, TN!!!
I can hardly type as I am so excited to know I am cruisin' Disney again :cool1:
We have cruised on the Wonder ('05) and the Magic ('08). Booked a dummy date on that last cruise, but when I kept seeing commercials for the Dream, I knew it was time to move the 'fake' one and create a REAL cruise date. (Can you say "DCL Obsession"???)
Our party will include my DH David (43), DS Ben (16), DS Jake (15), DS Nathan (12), DS Matthew (11) and of course me, Lori (44), who will probably drive everyone within a 1 mile radius insane with DCL talk over the next 16 months. (Ages are at time of sailing)
We will be staying on Deck 5 in an 8A Oceanview (rooms 5520/5522) and am thrilled about finding two conecting oceanview rooms. I believe you guys are right about the ship filling up. My travel agent, Dana, told me this morning that DCL told her they only had one more quad room left (in the oceanview & below category) This lack of available rooms is my answer to people's question when they ask "Why in the world do you book so far out?"
HOwever, now, even that room is gone because our friends took it!!! Our friends Brett and Stephanie and their two sons will be joining us on the cruise!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi..and I look forward to counting down the days with you guys!!!

Count us in!! As much I hated to do it...I called last week and switched us from the Dream this summer to this cruise next summer. We are really excited about the eastern since we've never done it!! It will be me Lee Ann, DH, DS 14, DD 10, and DD 18months. We decided it would be easier cruising with an 18month old rather than a 6month old baby. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise..we've done both the Magic and the Wonder. I'm so excited about this cruise!! I just hate to have to wait so long. Atleast we have lots of time to get to know everyone!!
I've read through the thread and still haven't decided to do the fish extender thing yet or not. The other two crusies we went on didn't have a big following on here so we didn't have a FE group. Hi Lee Ann!
Welcome! As far as the Fish Extender, I know how you feel about running all over, but then I got to thinking that it was worth the thirty min or so that it took me to deliver gifts last time in order for my kids to be receiving gifts every day. They loved checking the pockets when they returned to the room. We had maybe twenty families in our group?

I am glad to read this. I booked 5E just to be close to the Oceaners Lab/Club. It never crossed my mind that we might have to go to another floor & then coming back down. But going back (now) and looked at the deck plans it doesn't show it clearly as being opened or a door. So, there is a door that you can use to get to a hallway to get to the club/lab?

It's been quite a while since I've posted, and the group seems to be getting quite large. I need to go back and read all of the posts, but just wanted to ask if anyone else has checked the price of their rooms recently?
We have two rooms for the five of us on this cruise (Cat 5c and 11b across the hall) and the price has now gone up by almost $3,000! I'm not sure we could afford to book this cruise today.

Yes, we have a Facebook group as well and we were all discussing this yesterday.
A few of us have 5E's booked and they're no longer available so no way to really tell for my specific room, but an 11B was more yesterday than I paid for me 5E!

I read on one post somewhere that there is a door that opens to allow passage to the back of the ship, but I can't say for sure. Wish we had a more definite answer as this is why I really like Deck 5 on the Wonder/Magic...well the easy access to the kids clubs/movie theater and the fact that there isn't much foot traffic in front of our rooms.

Hi all its been a while glad to see cruise get closer. Hello to all the new cruisers:hippie: I think this cruise is filling up pretty fast for being over a year away. I have three 11B cabins for 10 people booked for this cruise. After reading the Dream reports I decided that we really would be better off in the 8D, cabins or any of the cat 8,. I told my TA this and she found out none open for four peopel only three. I would have to upgrade to a 5A and that was more that I am willing to pay.
I wished I would of been able to know more about the room types on opening day and been able to see the real rooms. Once I saw the couch is almost touching the bed I started worried with four the 11 might be really tight. Now I just have to waite and see if someone cancels or moves up to a different room type. My TA said you could hope for an free upgrade but in four cruises I never recived an upgrade so my luck is not to great.

From the Meyer-Werft Website:
Disney Fantasy Moves a Step Closer to Reality
During Keel Laying Ceremony
PAPENBURG, GERMANY (Feb. 11, 2011) – Today, Disney Cruise Line celebrated the keel laying of the Disney Fantasy at the Meyer Werft shipyard. This is the second of two newly-designed ships that take the family cruise experience to all new heights. Sister ship to the Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, entered service on Jan. 26, 2011.
The keel laying ceremony is a significant milestone in the ship building process when the first block, or section of the ship, is lowered into the building dock and a coin is placed under the keel for good fortune. Placing the coin was Karl Holz, President of Disney Cruise Line, assisted by Minnie Mouse.
The Disney Fantasy will offer many of the innovations that the Disney Dream features and brought to the cruise industry for the very first time, including AquaDuck -- the world’s first shipboard water coaster. However, the Disney Fantasy will feature a few new design elements and guest experiences that will give the ship a unique identity all her own.
The 4,000-passenger Disney Fantasy will sail week-long Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Fla. with its maiden voyage scheduled for March 31, 2012.
To learn more about Disney Cruise Line or to book a vacation, guests can visit www.disneycruise.com, call Disney Cruise Line at 888/DCL-2500 or contact their travel agent.

Can any of you who have sailed the 7 day cruises on the Magic before help me out? I know the Fantasy will be a little different, but in your experience which night will work out best for Remy reservations? Don't want to miss out on any of the other dining rooms, but really want to try Remy!

I've read through the thread and still haven't decided to do the fish extender thing yet or not. The other two crusies we went on didn't have a big following on here so we didn't have a FE group. I think it would be fun...I just don't want to spend alot of time running all over the ship. I even made us a FE for our last cruise...
Headed over to join the Facebook group.
Lee Ann :)[/QUOTE]
Well, there's two fixes for us here....
1. We all change our reservations to the "suites" so we don't have to walk as far....:rotfl:
or, 2. We get our exercise delivering gifts so we can eat what we like and not worry about "cruise calories" :scared1::laughing::laughing::laughing: For this to work, we have to be ALL over the ship! :thumbsup2
Personally, I think we'll enjoy where our current reservation is located (we have an aft verandah), so I'll go with getting a few Mickey bars while onboard and not feeling guilty one bit! :mickeybar:

Hi everyone!!! I just got back on 3/19 Magic cruise and booked this cruise while on board!! (Hey Amanda!!!)
So we'll have 2 families this time around:
First it's me (Emy) and my husband (Jeff). This will be our 3rd Disney cruise and can't wait to sail on the new ship!!
Also sailing with us is my good friend's family (also Disney fanatic) The Jones: Betsy, Jon, and their triplets (Will, Becca, and Hays - they'll be all 10). This will be their 2nd Disney cruise and first time on 7-night cruise!!!
Jeff and I booked 11A GTY room, and thinking about changing the Jones to GTY room as well, but they want connecting room if possible. Do you think they'll be able to get upgrade and have connecting rooms? Our reservations are all linked together (since I booked it on board for them).
We would like to be part of FE (the 2 families) as well!! We had fun doing FE on our last cruise!!

I have had this room booked since Oct 2010, but just now went more on the + side of going than being a maybe! Can't believe the price has gone up $2K since we booked :scared1: Makes me want to keep this b/c I feel like I got a deal, especially too, since the Galveston cruises are even more expensive for oceanview/verandah rooms than this - go figure:confused3
Anyways, we had a BLAST on our 1st Disney cruise, the Dream on Mar 13-17, 2011. Since then, my DS has been begging every day "When can we go on a 7nt Disney cruise?" Little does he know :lmao:
I will PM alamere the info for the FE - so want to do that again! The kids would race off the elevator to see if we had anything in there. Are we doing a magnet exchange too? That could be part of the same group, or a different group, whoever is interested. We did both on the Dream - so fun:banana:
So sad though it's more than 1 yr....

DH Bill
DW Laura
DD-16 Katie (will turn 18 :scared1: days before we sail)
We are looking forward to seeing those of you that we have sailed with before and meeting those that we have not sailed with. I will PM about Facebook and FE.

Welcome to all our new posters :) Looks like our group is growing!
I'm making the trip seem closer by cutting it into smaller "chunks" I tell myself that I only have till June 5 for my trip to DC, and after that we will be under the 1 year mark. Next will come fall break, Christmas and spring break. At that point, I'll be so busy wrapping up the school year, that the weeks will fly by. I'll say goodbye to my dear darling students and hit the road!!!
For anyone who hasn't, I would encourage you to join our Facebook page. Lee Anne is doing an awesome job of coming up with a "Question of the Day" :)

Hi all, Sorry I have not posted for a while I see the group is still growing hello to all new cruisers. I will see if DD can look up the Face book group as I dont have a face book and I dont want one.
We are a family of 11 cruising and of the 11 we have 3 teenage Girls 15-17, two 12-10 year old boys and 2 kiddos 6 and 5 at the time of cruise.
I would like to spend 4 days after the cruise visting Disneyworld. I was seeing on another fourm about a program called the Disney yes program.
I tried reading about it because it looks like if the kids sign up for one of the programs you can get some really discounted tickets. My question has anyone here done this before and could you give me more information.

Hello Everyone! It has been a while. I'm not sure I have said anything formally, but we would like to be part of the FE. It adds such a fun touch to our trip and it gives me something to obsess about besides packing. ;)
What are people doing about family groups and participating in the FE? Do you include everyone in your group on the list or do you stick to one room per group? The last two exchanges we included the Godparents on the list but I bought all the gifts for both rooms. Just curious about what others do.
I hope everyone is well. :goodvibes We are blowing away here in New Mexico.

Thanks. I'm sure your kids were cute at that age, too! I think at 17 the appropriate term is that they're handsome, yes? :goodvibes We do have a lot of birthdays on board :)
I have a FB and I'm in the group, but I don't visit it. I'd rather use the thread. Call me crazy. They're doing random Questions of the Day to try to get to know each other, I get an alert every time someone posts in the group. Other than that (and I admit I haven't looked in awhile) not much is going on over there.
******************
We're officially going. I was hit and miss there for awhile just because of their ages. But DS1 did so awesome at WDW at 18 months and DS2 will be a smidge older than he was when we went, so I'm excited again.
That and we need this vacation. I think it'll do us wonders. DS2 is probably going to be getting a brain shunt placed here in the next few months. First it was a no, then a "prepare yourselves", then a "wow, he completely turned himself around" and now it's a "prepare yourselves" again so we're trying to, well, prepare ourselves. :lmao: I went ahead and purchased insurance so if his shunt were to malfunction while we're on board that the evacuation won't bankrupt us. Which, of course, means that he will probably not even need a brain shunt now :rotfl: Either way the insurance was worth every cent.
I've started to look at excursions. Sooo tempted by those cabanas on Castaway, but am I the only one that thinks $500 is CRAZY?! :scared1:

This is right from The Disney web page. From all I can tell if you have a group of 10. You can get deep discounted tickets, it looks like kids under 13 has to have an adult. Older than 13 parent needs to be in the park. It also looks like you can buy one extra deep discount ticket for every student. Classes are just a few hours.
I have sent an E-mail to try and get more information, I should here back in a few days.

Disney Yes? I too would like to know more.
Laura and I tried to remember how many FEs we had on the 2008 PC but couldn't remember. We knew it was over 100. I hope you don't remember ours because it will probably be similar.
Bill
There were some great FE gifts on that cruise. Loved the magnets, CDs, pens, pins, pirate ducky, coffee, candy, etc. and of course the gold POTC pocketwatch. That will be a tough cruise to top! We are missing the 6/23/12 reunion cruise but by the time we found out about it, it was to expensive to change reservations. Plus we really wanted to do an Eastern this time.
We ordered 400 individual FE gifts for that cruise. I seem to recall that a few latecomers only received one per room from us instead of one per person. We ended up with 3 or 4 leftovers!

Oh my...no we don't have that many rooms!! :scared1:
We have about 25 right now in the first group and most people seemed to be happy with that number so that it doesn't get too difficult to handle. You all must have had to bring an extra suitcase just to bring everything home!!

It worked out ok.
We took an extra suitcase for FEs and Secret Mickeys. Then we had an empty to bring the stuff we collected on the trip home.

Are we getting a separate list together for a magnet exchange too? On our last cruise, we had 29 rooms for the FE exchange which was a nice, manageablesize and that was just a 4 nt one! We spread the gifts out so there was something for everyone every day :thumbsup2 We also had a magnet exchange - that was only 4 or 5 cabins. We did that the 1st nite - got some really cool, personalized magnets ;)
Just thought I'd throw that one out there....
My Disney OCD has struck again :scared1: I am excited about hitting the 400 day mark - that is so sad...I have no life! Now I know why I didn't start the ticker way back in Oct 2010 when I originally booked this cruise (and hadn't even been on our 1st Disney cruise yet) :lmao:

Hello everyone!! I just wanted to update the group on the FE exchange. We have officially closed the first group as it began to get too big for everyone to manage. I am now starting to take information for the second group. So if anyone else interested in joining the group, message me with your information (names, ages, genders of everyone in the room and cabin #).
Thanks!!
Wow, I really missed the Boat on that one. Sounds like it is the second wave for us. :lmao: I certainly understand keeping things to a manageable size. It also makes me feel like I can put more time and effort into the gifts if I dont have to make 200 things! I will look up our cabins and send the information on.
I am starting my quest for a good rate at WDW before the cruise. You would think I would learn, but I still have sticker shock :scared1: every time I price out rooms.

Awww, I'm excited too.
I don't have tickers here - as I have 4 cruises booked, but only one is with DCL. I do have all 4 set up with tickers on my cruise critic siggy though. And every time one of those tickers gets to a new set of 10s I get excited. It is fun to see them get closer, and closer. . .. :) LOL I guess I have no life either! I am obsessed with playing with vacation ideas.

Have you checked out the DVC boards? You can rent points from members and it is WAY cheaper than a room through Disney. We rented points on our last cruise and we are doing it again for this trip!! $500 for 3 nights at AKL studio room which is basically a regular room with a fridge. The same rooms are about $250 or more a night!! It works great for us!!

Welcome to the third family from Colorado on the cruise meet so far! We used to live in Highlands Ranch (2006 through 2009). We are now way up North in Thornton.
You'll love the verandah. We got spoiled last year and have booked one for this cruise as well. We had one for our 20th Anniversary trip on a Disney Cruise sans kids! For the June 2012 Fantasy cruise, we get the verandah room to ourselves as we are putting the kids across the hall in an 11B. They are looking forward to the virtual porthole though.

Yes, those WDW room rates are high. We are DVC members (bought on a cruise in 2010), but we are trying to add on some nights to our upcoming stay this May/June. We ended up going offsite (for the first time) with Sheraton Vistana Villages. It was about $119 per night for a two bedroom suite with about 1,100 square feet, a king size bed in one bedroom, two queens in the second bedroom and a pull out sofa in the living room. With a full-size kitchen and two bathrooms to boot. It's actually quite comparable size wise to our 2BR Villa at Bay Lake Tower this coming May/June. Since it's only 2 nights, we're okay with it. If we like it, I'll let you know. We're nervous about our first venture off-site!
For next June, we may add on two nights at WDW before the cruise (Star Wars Weekends) and stay off-site as well. We'd use our DVC points, but we actually have two cruises booked for 2012. The second one will be a Christmas cruise. Those prices were quite high, but we really wanted to do a Disney Christmas vacation while the kids were still under our roof. We will be using our DVC points to pay for a room during the Christmas season so we need all the points we can for that!

Please do share how Sheraton Vistana Villages are after you return home. We are looking at spending 4-5 days after Cruise doing some Land and have been looking also at some off sites, right now I was thinking of Renting a 3 Bed at Bonnet Creek. We have 11 traveling in our party.

Add us to your list, we are also sailing with you!! We're from Austin, Texas and this will be my 6th cruise on Disney and I couldn't be more thrilled to be sailing on the Fantasy.
It will be myself (Kim), DD Emily (13) and DS Hayden (11). My husband and oldest daughter aren't on this one but my sister Stephanie, BIL Larry and my DN Kiara (13) will also be joining us. It should be a fabulous cruise. We have two cabins; I'm on deck 12 (cat T) and my sister is on deck 10 (cat 6A).

Hello we are from Colorado also. I have three girls going around your daughters age. My daughter Cady will be 16 and my Nices Rain will be 17 and Jasmine will be 15 same as your daughter. Before we went on the 2008 cruise we had a Mini Colorado meet and we met KDdisney Christopher and June and thier Boys it was Very nice. Maybe we can do that at least twice before we sail I have a two grandsons going around KDdisney kids ages. So it would be fun for them to also meet the boys. Let me know what you think about a Mini meet.

I have been looking around to try and find the best spot to look for flights from Denver to Orlando. Since there is 11 in my group, I have been looking at a few sites like Kayak and Low fares.com
I have also been checking out some of the airlines group travels what I have found out is that group travel does not always get you the lowest prices. Since this cruise is not till next year none even have prices out yet. Some say 11 months and others 8 months.
I have signed up for low fare alert from Denver to Orlando and hoping it comes through with some good prices.
I thought I would come here and see if there is anything else I could be doing to help me find the best air fare for my group.

We don't do Facebook either. And I just realized that DD's age is listed incorrectly on the list of who's going - she was 12 at the time we booked it, but she will be 14 at time of sailing! I guess I wasn't thinking about that when I listed our group . . .

We booked this cruise too! Sailing will be me, DW Taina, DH Ben, DD 16-Kaitlyn and DS Ben turning 15 on the 3rd. The eastern was our first cruise back in 2005. Looking forward to sailing the new ship! We've only sailed on the Magic so far! :goodvibes
We are so exited!! This will be our first family cruise. My DH and two DD (7 & 9). My youngest DD will be turning 8 the 2nd day of the cruise. We just watched the DCL DVD this morning. We are all so excited. I wish it wasn't so far away. Hope to meet some of you on the ship.

ONE YEAR ALERT!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
Now maybe people won't look at me as if I'm crazy when I tell them I'm cruising June 2012. There's something about booking a vacation 17 months ahead that makes people think you're insane. Under a year? they can live with, but longer than that seems to baffle them, lol.
I was looking back at one of the threads on the boards called If You Could Change One Thing About DCL.. (or something like that). What was really neat was reading comments/suggestions from 2008, that are actually being implemented on the new ships. Makes you wonder if the powers that be of DCL really do read these boards...one lady even recommended a Bibbity Bobbity Boutique type place..she'll be happy to know that it will be on the Fantasy. Interesting read :)
Happy Thursday everyone!!

Yes, I agree...our school usually ends around May 24th or 25th, but we also have about 8 days built into our school year for weather days, so I don't worry too much about being extended into our cruise dates.
This year, we did use up all our days for snow (Chattanooga hasn't had this much snow in FOREVER). We also lost two days towards the end of school for tornados that hit our area, but the area was declared to be in a state of emergency, so we don't have to make them up.
Keeping my fingers crossed that all of our cruisers have a normal year with no extensions into summer break :)

That is too funny. By this time next year, my oldest daughter will be finished with 3rd grade too! I just hope that snow days don't push us too close to the vacation.
I live in Texas and it is already like a million degrees out (ok, maybe more like 100, but still...). We had a few ice days here; only 4 months ago! My neighbors had their boys playing ice hockey on the street to entertain us, CRAZY! So quickly how things change. I will be spending many a happy, hot, and sweaty day this summer by the pool dreaming of this cruise NEXT summer and the beautiful beaches!!! I'll just call it "practice".

Ha, you must live near me! It's about 98 degrees this week.
We're getting ready to go on the Disney Mediterranean cruise in a few days, and then when we get back, we can start counting down the days to this Fantasy cruise!!

High 90's here in Chattanooga as well. My DH and I decided not to join an area pool for the summer so that we can save the money for our cruise, but my goodness, I think we may have to just eat that one... just toooo hot!! We have an area "beach" at one of our parks (part of the TN River), but there's just something about swimming around and seeing a dead fish float by that just doesn't appeal to me:eek: lol

We just got back from the EBTA cruise and loved every minute! While on board we had to rebook of course! We picked the Eastern with all of you!! So excited to be joining this group. I got some great FE ideas on this last cruise. I will be sailing with my DH (39) and DD (20) at the time of sailing. I am going to search the thread to figure out how to sign up for the FE. I will PM you too. Also can anyone tell me what our facebook page is?
It was a great trip! Wish we were back on the Magic right now.....all the sea days were wonderful and the weather perfect! Can't wait till next June!!

WOW! So your "practice" sounds like it's starting out WAY better than mine!!! Mediterranean will be our 2013 cruise I think. Can't wait to hear about your experience! How long is the flight from TX??

This will be our first family cruise experience. We are so excited. Cruising will be myself (Melissa), DH (Greg) and our 2 children DD (Kyra -15), DS (Ryan - 8), ages at the time of cruise. This may be our first cruise, but we are huge Disney fans, and have enjoyed the Magic Kingdom many times in the past. Since Disney service is exceptional we knew cruising with Disney, our first time, was the only way to go.

Welcome to everyone joining us! We've been booked since the first day of booking and can't wait for next year. We just returned from a trip to WDW. It was very nice, but not nearly as relaxing as cruising.
Yay! Glad we are not the only non-facebook users! I would love the kids thread link for my DD; that is a great idea!!!! BTW, anyone check out the links to the new Fantasy details that Disney released last week? I'm so excited!!!!
Another non-FB person here! My wife is on it though.
Please do share how Sheraton Vistana Villages are after you return home. We are looking at spending 4-5 days after Cruise doing some Land and have been looking also at some off sites, right now I was thinking of Renting a 3 Bed at Bonnet Creek. We have 11 traveling in our party.
Brenda,
We returned from a 10-night vacation to the World. As you had requested, I wanted to report back about our stay in the Sheraton Vistana Resort. First, we were in the Resort and not the Villages. The Resort is a litle further north on International Drive (near the Outlet Mall where the Character Premier store). We were about 5 minutes from the entrance to WDW.
We stayed there two nights - one night each before and after our 8 night stay at our 2 BR Villa at BLT!!
The Vistana was very nice and I would recommend it to anyone wanting an inexpensive HUGE room offsite. We paid $119 per night for the room. It was about 1,100 sq ft. It had a nice sized kitchen with a small pantry/laundry room. There was a table that seated 6 to 8 in the dining nook. The living room had a queen size pull-out sofa with a 42 inch LCD TV and Bose Wave radio. The screened in porch had a large table and chairs for relaxing outside.
The second bedroom had two queen size beds. The master had a king size bed, a large whirlpool tub and a vanity. The Master bathroom had a second vanity, the toilet and shower.
Although it wasn't Disney, it was quite nice and we may stay there again next June the night before our cruise to save some of our DVC points. After the cruise, we plan to spend two nights at BCV. We want to spend the first day at their large pool area and the second day at Star Wars Weekends. The kids had a blast at SWW this past year.
Have you had any luck with Southwest airline fares for a group? I'm thinking of signing up for a Southwest rewards visa as they are currently offering two free flights after your first purchase. We are thinking of doing two Disney trips in 2012. :scared1:
I can try. I have posted pictures but I still struggle when I do.

Was Alaska completely different than any other cruise? I'm outside right now in Colorado and it's chilly out here (upper 60's). Last week, I froze at an evening baseball game and tomorrow's high is suppossed to only reach 63. Believe it or not, I think I'd rather be back in 90 degrees and humid Orlando!!! Although I'm sure Alaska is gorgeous, I like my vacations to be a bit warmer. Maybe someday.
So is anyone else excited to hear even more about the Fantasy? The kid's love the new Animator's Palate concept where we can draw pictures that will march around the room. I like the European theme of the nightclub district. My DW is happy that Minnie is in the atrium. (the kids wanted Stitch?!?)
Now that we're under 1 year, I've actually considered looking into excursions. We really want to snorkel at either St. Maarten or St. Thomas.
Oh, and I almost forgot. There's been a lot of talk about birthday's on the cruise. My oldest will turn 17 on the 4th day of the cruise. Yikes. His last year of being able to cruise as a Disney "teen".

Hi All Colorado Cruisers I spoke to Southwest and the customer service rep, said to check back in Nov to find out about group travel prices are for our dates. She said they are most likely release our dates around 8 months out. Sounds like it may not always be the cheapest but they will have you all board together and a fixed price. It requires a $50.00 deposit for all traveling and just has to be paid off 30 days before travel the 50>00 is applied to your fair. They also allow for free name changes up to 30 days before travel. all in the traveling party's must all come and go from same air port same day and time.
I also spoke to the customer service rep for the Disney I am on the mailing list for Disney Yes Program if your child signs up and attends a three hour class them and one adult can get a deep discount 3-10 pass in most cases they look about 1/2 the rack rate. They have lots of classes for a wide range of ages.
My Family also wants to go to universal studios Orlando so we need to still to figure out what we are doing.
Christopher thanks for the report on resort stay.
Cady is still looking foreword to a kids group If I or she knew how to make one she we would.

Hi! I will be on this cruise with my husband and daughter who will be 7 at the time. Would love to meet someone with a child her age to hang out with.
We will be on the ship for my birthday! Can't wait. This is our 3rd Disney cruise, we did a 4 night and 3 night - which wasn't long enough. Definitely looking forward to a 7 night!

To all the creative folks on our cruise....I am desperately trying to keep this a secret from the family (even DH) until 1-2 days before! Our DD "graduates" from 5th grade on 5.31 (provided we don't have to use the bad weather day on 6.1). So, I am trying to think of a way to surprise them.....any ideas?! For our 1st Disney cruise this past March, I had booked it in June 2010 and held out until Feb 2011, 5 wks before the cruise, to tell them. They were sooooo excited!
I thought about having 7 pieces of paper with "clues" written on them, each starting with a letter of FANTASY? Just don't know....
And then I thought I could make it their Christmas gift, but then I would have to hear for 5 whole months "I want to go NOW!" Decisions, decisions....
Would love to hear your ideas:thumbsup2
TIA!

HOW FUN!!!! Our last day of school is 5/31 also (Denton ISD). We are pulling her out a few days early though......praying we don't get caught be the "absentee police". ANYWHO......I think making it a Christmas present is awesome! My daughter is 8, and she knows now. We had a week of "how many days???" every 5 minutes..."STILL, 367..its still the same day sweet girl", but NOW, we have fun researching together. I downloaded an app on our phones that keeps a countdown, so cute! We can start planning excursions on March 4, so I think telling the kiddos at the end of December...they can keep busy looking at all the fun excursions for a few weeks. Then you get to book, then they stay crazy busy with all the end of the year stuff at school! 7 clues is SO great! What about finding gifts that start with those letters too that are cruise related?
F-fish (like little plastic toys or something..Nemo?"
A-aqua shoes
N-necklaces with an achor or for your son, a shell or a pirate
T-Tshirts that have something beachy
A-
S-
Y-
I'll think about those other letters...I'm only one cup of coffee into the day right now! So, you let them open them all, with your clue cards with the first letter, like BOLD, and bigger, then help them spell it out. OK, will you record it??? You could totally mail it in to Disney and be on TV like those commercials I keep seeing....makes me teary eyed EVERY stinkin' TIME!!!!

I have not been on this meet since the first few pages I think! Glad to hear there is a FB page - will go over to join that too! We had a FB page for last year's Med cruise and we were constantly chatting! Plus we had a website too. Has any creative person done one of those too for this cruise?
Well, we just got back from the 10 night June 29th Med cruise. After months of planning (again!), it is nice to have future cruises to look forward to! We booked 2 dummy cruises on board too in anticipation of a possible return to Europe in 2013. Fingers crossed! :goodvibes
