Hello to all ! :wave2:
It's been about 6 months since I've been here on the boards, and it feels great to be back!
DH and I decided a couple of nights ago that it's time to start planning ANOTHER Disney Vacation. We will be celebrating 10 years of marriage in June and thought DLR would be the ideal location to celebrate such a momentous occasion.
I can't wait to share my planning ideas and pictures with you all.
Unfortunately "MY" computer is currently down so I can't share any of my more recent photos with you. Until then however I will share some older ones until I can get my computer up and running.
Please standby for a list of "possible characters" and pictures. And my preliminary plans!

I'm still awaiting confirmation on whether or not my Dad AND my brothers family will be joining us on our trip.
Until then I will share the rest of the Cast with you.
Me/Deanna/32: I'm a SAHM and love every minute of it. :cloud9: I fell in love with Disney the second I passed through the gates of Disney World back in 1996. This will be my 3rd visit to the DLR, and I'm so excited to celebrate a decade of marriage at the Happiest place on earth!
Favorite Disney attraction: ToT and Splash Mountain
**taken at the beginning of my last DLR trip**
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/Roadtrip014-1.jpg
DH/Will/34: Investment broker, and the most amazing father and husband in the world. He would do anything to make his children happy. He agrees there is nothing better in this world then the look on his kids faces whenever they go to Disney.
Favorite Disney Attraction: Space Mountain
**Taken in the salt fields in Utah**

DD/Reya/4: Just started preschool a couple of months ago. She's the most affectionate, sweet, talented little girl I've ever met. This trip will be a surprise for her. Should be fun trying to pull it off. ;)
Favorite Disney attraction: Dumbo
**Taken on our road trip back in July**

DS/Jayden/10 months: This will be Jayden's 1st visit to DLR. His first visit to WDW was 7 months ago when he was only 3 months old. He's a boy by every definition of the word. In other words a pain in my behind.... but he's also the most amazing and lovable baby boy in the World. I'm so lucky he's a part of my life.
Favorite Disney attraction: Festival of the Lion king and It's a small World.

Yay!!! I'm so happy to have one of my old readers!
It sorta feels like just yesterday that I was planning my last trip. So much has changed since then though. My daughter has hair, she'll be 5 years old when we leave, we'll be traveling with two 18 month old babies. My DSIL had a baby girl 10 days after I had my son. So it will be interesting traveling with two more kiddos.
Thanks for reading.....and chime in whenever ya want. :)

**Not sure if anyone is actually reading, but I guess I'll continue on
Preliminary Plans
Dates: June 11th-June 20th
Flying
Renting a car
Getting a 5 day Park Hopper
One day at Universal Studios
Open day which will include Santa Monica
Open Day which will include WB Studios
I have a whole list of ideas on exactly what I want to do. There are tons of new things that we haven't experienced before and I'm excited to add as many things as humanly possible.
Our anniversary is on June 14th. I would like to do something that involves the family during the day, and something that Just DH and I could do in the evening. Does anybody have any romantic ideas for me?

DSIL/Lori/27: ((Not Pictured)) SAHM. Has been a part of my family for the last 6 years. Will be Lori's 2nd visit to the DLR. 1st time was with us back in 2008. She's as excited as I am.
Favorite Disney Attraction: BTMR
DB/Chad/29: Truck Driver . Most laid back person you'll ever meet. I'm so happy that I made him into a HUGE Disney fan as well. I'm mostly excited to spend some much needed time with him.
Favorite Disney Attraction: ToT

Niece/Alyssa/6: 1st grader Alyssa is so full of energy. Very hard little girl to keep up with, but is a sweetheart too. As far as I know this trip is going to be a big surprise for her as well.
Favorite Disney Attraction: Winnie the Pooh

Niece/Alexa/10 months: Born on Christmas day. 10 days after my son. We'll have the best time with the babies. I'm really hoping she won't have the same fears my daughter did when she went to Disney at 18 months old. She was terrified of the disney characters, and most rides that were in the dark. Here's to hoping. Alexa is also a sweet baby girl with lots of personality already.

Dad/Gary/50: Lives in California. I am excited to see him and glad that he can celebrate with us. He's amazing with his grandchildren. Very laid back like most men in my family, but he has a tendency to just walk off when you turn your back and you spend 1/2 your time searching for him. :lmao:

So I started looking at Airfare this morning. Southwest has yet to post any of their fares, so I won't know anything for another week or two as far as they go.
Frontier Airlines was listed as the cheapest fare thus far. We would be paying 204.00 per person round trip. I can't decide if this is a good deal or if I should wait it out a little longer? When I looked at airfare with them 3 days ago the price was at 184.00 per person. :headache:

It's not 100% decided, but I'm pretty sure we're going to be staying at the same place we did last time. In my opinion it was the perfect location and the place was pretty charming. It's called the Annabella Hotel.
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/119195_36_b1.jpg
The walk was beautiful, and only 5-10 minutes to DTD.
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/Roadtrip137-1.jpg
Our room was comfortable and cozy! We ended up getting a semi-private patio too, which was nice at night. We had stray cats come to visit us everynight when we sat outside. :lmao: They were sweet.

I checked prices, and it's a little more then I wanted to spend, but worth it because of the location. $129.00 a night.
Does anybody else have any suggestions and a nice place that is within 10 minute walking distance?

Wow, I'm really starting to think that I'm doing something wrong as far as my PTR goes.:confused3 Nobody seems to have any comments or suggestions to help me out, which means I must be boring you all to death. I keep telling myself that I'm doing this for myself. :rolleyes1 I had great success and lots of faithful readers during my last Tr's and Ptrs and it was so much fun getting to know new people. I love going back and reading my TR's so I guess I'll keep on trucking.
If anyone read my previous post I mentioned that I won $500.00 tonight. I have never won anything in my life, so I'm really excited right now. DH and I discussed that will go towards our Disney Tickets.... Speaking of which ......
http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii103/SharonOToole/Los%20Angeles/Disneyland/BBBBB3.jpg
I got online today to see how much Park Hoppers would cost us. According to disneyland.com prices are as follows:
2 adult 5 day park Hoppers: $211.00 x 2
1 Child 5 day park Hopper: $186.00
Total of : $608.00
DH mentioned today that his company gets some travel deals and he looked into how much tickets would cost us going through schwab. Turns out the total for the 3 of us would be $555.00 :woohoo: So another $55.00 and my tickets are completely paid for!!!

So many updates to catch up on after a weekend away - how fun! :cheer2:
How nice do you want your hotel? We've stayed at Desert Inn and Suites which is about a 3 minute walk to the front gate. We were travelling once as a group and shared one of their guest suites - the room was clean, comfortable and very cheap, just nothing special or something worth writing home about.
The Candy Cane Inn and the Park Vue Inn get great reviews on Trip Advisor although i haven't stayed there...
Congrats on the bingo win too - must be a sign that Disney is meant to be :thumbsup2

I've stayed at Desert Inn and Suites and Anaheim Plaza. Both are easy walking distance, Desert Inn being the closer of the two. Both are basic, no frills places but clean and comfortable enough. I've had rates as low as $59 a night with each, so they are great deals for the location. Also something that I really appreciated was that neither one charged a holding fee on your credit card. You won't be charged until you check in, unless you no-show, or cancel less that 48 hours from arrival. So if I find a low rate with either one(regardless if it's months and months away) I go ahead and book it.

Welcome back!
I'm a little picky on what hotel I stay at. I don't have to stay at a Ritz, but the place has to be kind of nice. I like staying at places like Hilton Garden Inn or Sheraton. But I want to find a place that is clean, comfortable, and close walking distance to DLR.
I've heard of Candy Cane Inn... Maybe I'll research that place a little more. Do you know if it's a close walk to the park?

We like the HoJo and the Candy Cane Inn. The HoJo can be a long walk. The walk from the CCI is quicker than from the Disneyland Hotel and the Paradise Pier. It's really close to the parks. Both hotels have clean, comfortable rooms and free parking. The CCI includes breakfast and the HoJo doesn't. The pool area at the HoJo is better than the CCI.
We usually stay at the HoJo because we get better rates there than the CCI.
I'm looking forward to reading more.
I just started a pre trip report too for our Christmas trip.

I checked out the CCI this morning. I actually really liked what I saw, but the prices are $10.00 more a night. Which would be a total of $100.00 or so. I need to weigh the pros and cons to both hotels.
Thanks for the info. ;)

I enjoy your pictures. Are some from WDW, I don't recognize the background on some of them, the Pooh characters mostly.
I've stayed at BWPPI, Faifield, and Carousel. They're all okay, nothing to write home about, and within 5 minutes of the gates on Harbor Blvd. We're going to try Camolot this time, I've heard good things.

Yes, there are a few from our trip to WDW back in March. :)
I don't know why I'm having such a tough time finding the right hotel for us. I think it's because I'm really picky when it comes to where we stay. I'm going to look into BWPPI and Fairfield. My dad stayed at the Carousel once and didn't like it much.
Does anybody know if the sheraton is close by?

I can't answer your Sheraton question, I've never stayed there. We're not liking the Carousel much anymore. 5 years ago it was okay, but it's gone downhill. Of the three I mentioned, I think I liked Fairfield the best. It was a little further than the other two, but the area was nice and you could see the fireworks from the pool. I'll report on the Camolot on my TR, and try to remember to drop a line here, too.

I booked our hotel today, we've decided to go back to the Annabella. I got a King and Queen bedroom for $114.00 using our AAA card. Total of $1,205.00 after taxes. I was going through pictures of our last DLR trip and was reminded of how nice the place is, plus I won't be able to beat the price as far as hotel quality IMHO.
I also booked a Full Size rental car through Budget using a discount code from Walmart. Rental price for 9 days is $174.00 including taxes.

Also, LOVE that in this picture the person holding Logan is making the kissy face too. When I'm putting chapstik on my kids I unconciously make the face I wish they would make. :rotfl:

Yes, I think I have some pictures. I'll check my photobucket album and post them for you. I was worried at first because it looks like a motel not hotel. But it's a VERY nice motel. The grounds are beautiful, the people were nice and helpful, the pool was lovely, the rooms were comfortable, and it was an easy walk to the parks. We would cut through the Grand Californian every morning too.
That's Logans mommy, my SIL. She'll be the one joining us on our trip. I couldn't find a picture of her to post earlier in my PTR.

JustAKid---- Here's some random pictures I have of the Annabella. The first couple of pictures are stock photos. The picture of the room is exactly what our room looked like. And by the way we had the conceirge room. I wouldn't recommend the extra money for that. The only thing that made it nice was the little semi private patio we had.

You have another "old reader" back! I remember following along on one of your other reports and it was great! I cannot believe how much Reya has grown. Still a cutie though. Where does the time go?? Congrats on your son. How fun to travel with such a large group.
Also congrats on the Bingo win! I never win anything. Ever. LOL To win $500 would be like winning $5,000 for me!
I think it's good you booked the Annabella again. If you liked it before, chances are you'll enjoy it again so it's one less thing to fret over.
Looking forward to more. :)

How's Vegas treating you?
Yes, Reya has grown. And she FINALLY has hair!!! :woohoo:
I've never won anything before last week. I was shocked. It would have been $1000.00, except someone else called bingo at the same time and I needed to split the win with them.
Unfortunately I've already spent the money. It went towards xmas presents. But on a positive note all my nieces and nephews are bought and paid for now. ;)

I think I followed your last report & just stumbled across your new one!! :cool1: Congrats on your upcoming 10th Anniversary!!! We did our 25th last year at Disneyland & it was our best trip ever!!! We had planned to go alone but ended up with 4 of our kids & it really did make it that much more special. Having more family with you will also make your trip more memorable!! You might be able to take turns at babysitting to give alone time for all the adults thru-out the trip. We had to do that this trip, as we took our 3 yr old autistic twins that absolutely had to get their afternoons at the motel & early bed times. This allowed everyone a chance to go off & do things they wanted & it worked out to be a fair trade off having every adult take their turn(s). Hopefully you'll be able to work something out so you & hubby can have your anniversary evening alone!!
Not sure what restaurants are your favorites, but we did Blue Bayou for our dinner & really enjoyed it.....we sat waterside & had great service & food. Other's like Napa Rose....I've never been....partly because of fear of the cost & I don't tend to take any dressy clothes.
Make sure people know you're celebrating your anniversary by getting a button & wearing all week......also mention it for all your priority seatings!!! You should get special desserts at most of the sit-down restaurants. We also told the Mark Twain CM's & we got to ride up in the wheel-house & ring the bell & blow the horn.....really quite a view from up there!! We also mentioned it to the CM's at the monorail & we got to sit up in the front with the pilot....also a great view!
I think you'll be happy with going back to the Annabelle.....you're familiar with it & knowing the layout & how things work there, just eases your mind when traveling. We've never stayed there before but always interested in seeing others reviews of places!!
Loving all the pictures!! Your kiddo's are really growing!
Congrats on winning at Bingo....haven't played in years....but those kind of wins are few & far between!! I did hit for $600 on Keno right before our trip & that was super exciting!!
Will try to remember to check back in to see how the plannings going!!

Vegas is great. We've been here over 3 years now and really enjoy it! We aren't jaded yet, lol, and still enjoy going out and doing things. Tons of locals deals and freebies which make it possible for us to go out without breaking the bank. And now that it's heading into winter and the weather is finally cooling down, it's even better. :)

Thanks for all the great advice. That's what I love about the disboards and I appreciate whenever someone chimes in.
I'm like you, I don't bring any dress up clothes with me whenever I go to Disney. So I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do for my anniversary dinner. Blue Bayou sounds likes a possibility, and maybe if I tell them it's our anniversary they'll seat us by the water. I don't want anything SUPER fancy, but I don't want something ordinary either. I'm not that high maintance when it comes to where I eat, but I don't want to eat at a chili's ora CS restaurant if you know what I mean.
I'll be sure to ask for an anniversary button the second we get there. I'm hoping to milk it for all it's worth. :rolleyes1
I'm glad you're here. Stay tuned for more updates.

No, $500.00 DOESN'T last long at all. But it is nice knowing that some of my shopping is done. I tallied up how many people I have to shop for including my kids and husband and it's 27 peeps. :scared1: That sucks when I have a vacation to save up for too.
I love Vegas. Everytime we drive to California we like to take a two day stop there. I wish we were driving this time around, but it's actally cheaper for us to fly because we don't need to pay for the gas and extra time in vegas of course. But I also think my poor van needs a break. I've only had it a couple of years and it's already beend driven to Sacramento 3 times, Vegas, 3 times, and DLR once. I barely put any miles on it on a weekly basis, but you wouldn't think so by looking at the miles on the spedometer.
Cute pic! I love this breakfast. I agree, the interaction is great there.
SOOOOOO great. When I went to WDW this last march it was disapointing because we had such a great experience at PPH.

My sweet baby boy is turning One next month. I'm planning his birthday party and wanted to share the adorable decorations and theme I'm going with for his celebration. Of course being the big disney fan I am, I had to go with SOMETHING Disney. So I decided on Winnie the Pooh. Spent $80.00 today on invitations and all the party supplies shown below plus more.
I'm SOOOOO Excited to Party..... but at the same time am so sad that a whole year has passed by already. :sad2:

We've never eaten there.....we've walked by it a number of times & I know they have a lot of outside seating....which wouldn't be too romantic....but have no clue what the inside looks like.
The Disneyland Hotel has a couple restaurants that might be worth looking into: Hook's Pointe & the Steakhouse(?).......the Steakhouse seems to be dim-lighted....but haven't eaten at either of them myself.
The things with WCT, is they're using that for WoC dinners now.....heard mixed reviews on the food.

Yes, it's a pull out couch. I would assume the room could sleep up to 5 persons. There is a king sized bed, a queen sized bed, and the pull out couch. They also have rooms that have a seperate room with a day bed.

Just so you all know during my trip planning process I'm going to have two separate itineraries. I'm not 100 % positive that my Brother and his family are going to make it, and if that's the case we won't be able to do half the things we'd like to, so there will have to be some rearrangements. So when planning I'll have Plan A. ( Which includes my Brother) and Plan B. (Which does not.)

PLAN A. Day One
We have yet to purchase our airline tickets. I’m not exactly sure what to do right now. Southwest airlines has yet to post their prices and Frontier Airlines price keeps going up? As of now their price is $232.00 per person/Round Trip. The fear is that the price is going to keep rising, but at the same time what if I buy the tickets and the price ends up going down? What kind of experience have most of you had with this exact same thing?
I also have one other dilemma: If my brother doesn’t end up going with us on our trip, there is a chance that we would drive to California instead.
What to do? What to do? :confused3
-----------------------------------------------------
June 11th:
* Arrive in Anaheim/ Hoping to arrive anytime before noon ((which shouldn’t be a problem))
* Pick up Rental Car / Hoping they’ll give us a great deal on an upgrade like they did when we went to Orlando in March. “If” not NO biggie.
* Check into Hotel
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/119195_36_b1.jpg
* Decorate the room and leave gift bags from Mickey for the Kiddos. ((I’ll have the husbands take the kids to the pool to look around while we do this.
http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p218/slackerdeanna/P8140440.jpg
* After we’ve gotten settled in walk over to Downtown Disney.
Downtown Disney MUST’S
SIL says that Logan is saving his money up for something “special” So we were thinking he would LOVE to go to RIDEMAKERZ and design his own car. This would be a surprise being that the entire trip is a surprise for the kids.
So First stop:
* Ridemakerz
http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee33/frostydjc/Woodward%202008/Picture281.jpg
* Go to Pin Traders and let Reya pick out two new pins. ((I need to buy a new lanyard and some pins for all the kids to trade on eBay before we leave))
* Disney Vault 28 ((Never been))
* D street
* Find a new wallet at Fossil
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u54/amygworld/Disneyland%202007/July2nd037-2.jpg
* Go to World of Disney and look for Comfy PJ’s to wear while on my trip and/or anything else my
budget friendly self desires.

I ALWAYS get the same dish when I go to the RFC. The Chicken Fried Chicken..... Mmmmm, Mmmm, Mmmmm. But I agree it's VERY pricey. I'm actually thinking strongly about trying the house of blues for the first time. This trip needs to be filled with a bunch of "Firsts" I looked at the menu online and the BBQ ribs sound delish.

We're going to have dinner at House of Blues on our arrival night. It's one of those places we always say we're going to try and never do, so this time we will.
Just today I bought a $25.00 gift certificate on restaurant.com for $2.00 using a promo code (normally $10.00). We have to spend a minimum of $30.00 to use it, but that shouldn't be hard. They also had a $50.00 gift certificate for $4.00 (normally $20.00) with the promo code, but the minimum spend is $100.00 and we wont spend that much.

Well, I just discovered that we have over $90.00 of cashback awards from our discover card. I'm going to use $45.00 of that to get a $50.00 gift card for Rainforest cafe'. Wooo Hooo~~~ So free dinner! :woohoo: I'll let you know in another post what I'm going to use the other $45.00 for. ;)
So I'm thinking Rainforest Cafe for our first day and we'll do House of Blues on another day. Just gotta figure out what day that will be.

It is nice but I wouldn't call it romantic. It's like a really nice Olive Garden. There is a nice romantic (and pricey) restaurant at the Grand Californian. Guy Feuretti had his Christmas special there.

Your off topic just put a huge smile on my face. Seems like only yesterday my boys started walking. Now they are in college achieving milestones, some best not known by their mother.
Thanks for sharing :wizard:

:lmao: This post made me laugh. I love the honesty, the reality, and the unconditional love that is so apparent.

Time is just flying by..... I love seeing how excited and proud of he is of himself everytime he takes a step or two. But I want my baby to be a baby for as long as possible. I want a 3rd but my husband is on the fence about it. So this might be the last time I can experience these "little" firsts with my kids.

You're welcome, and thank you!!! If I can figure out how I'd love to share a video of him. Does anybody know how I can do that?
And your comment is hilarious... I'm dreading the day my kids turn into teenagers.

It will be here sooner than you think. A good sense of humor, a lot of love, and firm understanding that at this stage of the game we are the parent not the friend goes along way.
My hubby and I still say every stage your kids are in is the 'best stage'. Each has joys and challenges. Just wait till they are driving :scared1:

I agree..... I say the same thing too... There's never been a stage in either of my kids lives that I haven't enjoyed. As far as driving. :scared1: I'm terrified. It will be my husbands job to teach them. I'm the kind of person that always has to be driving. I don't care how great of a driver you are, I have panic attacks whenever someone else drives.

I'm a little saddend today. Husband found out that he's taking a huge paycut in January, so now I have to figure out exactly how we're going to pay for our trip. I know that NO matter what we will make it to DLR for our anniversary. I'm hoping our trip will stay as planned, but it might need to be cut short to the point where we just visit DISNEY and cut out the other things we wanted to do in southern California. I'll be sure to keep you updated.
Also thought it was time to share a few more photos.... ENJOY!
((I know these aren't in any particular order, sorry if that's bothersome. I'm just posting them in the order I have them on my photobucket account))
