Same here! Just me & my wife. :donald::donald:
ksukats, will your kids be out of school for the cruise or will you have to take them out?
Any bets on the atrium statue? My money is on Crush.
Now if only someone would make a Disney Fantasy ticker for me to add to my signature...

The school calendar isn't finalized for next year yet, but this year the kids' last day is Wednesday May 18th. We are hoping that it will be May 16th next year.
Crush would be a cool statue.

We are hoping to book this cruise while on our November 7th Wonder Cruise! We'd move our Dream Ressie over now but if we do that we won't be eligible for the OBC our TA is giving right now so we have to book new. Figure we will get 2 cruises by not just moving the Dream to the Fantasy!
It will be at this point just Myself and My mother we live in Central Florida and we are finding that Cruising out of PC is very addictive :lmao:
Since we will be getting on the ship 1 day after my 30th birthday what a way to celebrate right? :woohoo:

Hi everyone,
I'll be the first to start the rush of people joining this board. Back in May 2009 we did a Disney Magic cruise and met a WONDERFUL group of DIS board friends. We all decided to go on the new Fantasy cruise. We all hoped to do the inaugural cruise for the Fantasy. But the date they released just didn't work for everyone.
Soon we'll all be invading this thread. :D It's so exciting to finally have officially booked this cruise!!! After waiting for a year and half with a dummy.
Let the planning begin!!!!
We are big Fish Extender people, so I hope you all want to participate!

Yay JorDan, for being the first of our wonderful :woohoo:, terrific :cheer2:, fantastic :flower3: group to check in :cool1::thumbsup2:banana:. Can the rest of you tell that us May 2009 Magic DISers had a great time together :grouphug: and formed some long lasting friendships ???
Some introductions are in order :). I'm Kathy, a HUGE Disney fan and with ~ 45+ visits to WDW under my belt, an even bigger fan of WDW :cool1:. I'm an Accountant by day and a WDW trip planner the rest of the time :cloud9:. I LOVE the planning and anticipation of my own WDW trips and I love to help family and friends plan their WDW trips as well. On the cruise, will be me, my husband Brian (not near the WDW fan that I am :scared1:, but he "tolerates" a WDW trip every year or two with family and friends; he ABSOLUTELY LOVES Disney Cruises though :dance3:, especially after the great group of friends that we made last time :grouphug:), our son Jake (on the cruise we will be celebrating his graduation from Purdue with a BS in Physics and Astronomy) and Jake's girlfriend MaryRose (she has never been to WDW :scared1:, so I think we're going to throw in a 4 or 5 day WDW stay after the cruise, so we can show her what she's been missing :woohoo:).
As JorDan said, we are soooooooo excited to have the cruise booked. The anticipation of when The Fantasy would start sailing was driving us nuts :rotfl:! Only 19 more months to go :cheer2:!

I'm jumping on board too, as part of the May 2009 Magic Western DISboards crew I'm super excited to say that we are now official May 2012 Fantasy Western cruisers! Let's see, here's a little about me. :thumbsup2
My husband and I are expecting our first child in 5 weeks, so for the cruise it will be me, DH and DD (she'll be 15 months or so at sailing time) and will be our little Disney princess. princess: We actually found out I was pregnant while at WDW in March this year. What a MAGICAL vacation. :wizard:
During the 2009 sailing we knew we wanted to cruise soon, but since we were planning a family we didn't know the time frame and didn't book on board. As the others have mentioned we formed a very close bond with several cruisers on the last cruise. We are hesitant about cruising with such a young one, but knowing that some of out fellow cruisers have new additions and we will be on the best cruise line for kids too we decided to book!
I'm soooo excited to start planning this vacation, it will be such a different experience from the last for sure. :goodvibes

Another one of the May 2009 Magic Western DISboards crew checking in!!!
:dance3:
I'm Chasity and will be cruising with my other half, Gus!! We just got off the Westbound Transatlantic a few weeks ago and really wanted to do it again next year but had to settle for Mexican Riviera instead (not enough vacation time). We are DVC members, Disneyland annual pass holders and try to make it out to WDW at least once a year!
We can't wait to meet up with our Dis friends in 2012 and make new ones!!
Looking forward to planning this with all of you over the next 18 months or so!!! :hourglass

YAY for everyone else joining in!! :D
I guess I should introduce myself: I'm JorDan the disney-aholic. Also coming on the cruise will be my husband and by then TODDLER baby boy! We are located out in Utah, just got our first Annual passes to Disneyland- we go at least 2-3 times a year. This will be my 5th Disney Cruise, Husbands 2nd and technically Baby's 2nd hahaha. We are so excited!!! 19 months sound so close, yet so far away. I'm also looking into staying longer as well after the cruise. I really want to go to WDW for a few days, but mostly go to the Harry Potter park at Universal. Let the planning begin!
Remember Lynsey- G will be there there to protect, play and take care of his future wife. haha

As everyone else has already commented, in May of 2009 we had an amazing bunch of DISers that sailed together and I'm super excited to do so again. Many of us have been so lucky to keep in contact via Facebook since then. :grouphug:
Sailing on this cruise will be myself (Amanda), My husband (Jason), my son Logan (this cruise will be the week before his 2nd birthday), My mom (Carole), My dad (Bob), My younger brother (Kevin), My older brother (Rob), His wife (Alison), their boys Bobby (11), Adam (9), and Matthew (2.5), My father-in-law (Jeff), My mother-in-law (Barb), and my brother-in-law (Eric).
Can't wait for all the planning to come! :-)

Well, here's another "crash" to the original post. We were also Key Lime Pirates in 2009 and will be changing our cruise to this one as well! We were booked for October 2011, but just didn't care to sail the Magic for a 3rd time and felt like it might not work for our "family" plans.
I am Cinda, a surgeon, and my husband Adam works for Bank of America corporate in security. We are working on a little one and will be bringing the baby if we are fortunate enough to have one in the next year! (I guess ours will be the "youngest" new Diser...funny since we are by far the "oldest" parents!) We will also probably be bringing some grandparents or Nannie if there is a baby involved...
We love Disney and have been more times than I can recall. Our last trip was 9 days this summer and we just returned from a weekend at Universal Orlando for Halloween Horror Nights. This will be our 5th cruise overall.
Will let you know our room number once we hear from Dreams Unlimited...

Hi Everyone! Another Key-lime Pie-rate checking in! We will be going on the cruise as well.
Right now, it is only me (Mati) and my DD (Sabrina). My DH is just not a cruiser (or Disney fan) and am on the fence about bringing my DS.
A bit about us, I am a Critical Account Manager for BMC Software and LOVE Disney :lovestruc unfortunately the rest of my family isn't as in love :confused3 so for now, planning Mother/Daughter trips to get my "fix" in. I am about to turn the big 4-0  and Sabrina will turn 9 on the 9th of November. I guess that means on the cruise she will be 10 and I will be....ummm....39?
I am so excited to be going with all my DIS friends again :grouphug: and will have plenty of time to help with the babies, hang out and dance into the night without the DH to dominate my time!!!
We just got back from Universal and LOVED the Harry Potter section of the park so may have to tack a day on to the trip to do that again...we'll see. I may need a serious Disney fix by then!
Glad to meet the new folks and of course, happy to be on a thread again with my DIS friends!!!!

The majority of us were on the May '09 Magic cruise together with an extraordinary group of folks from all over the world! :grouphug: Many of us keep up with each other  on Facebook, nearly daily! Lots of new babies :littleangel: will be with us this trip including my two newest grandsons. We include my dh Bob, 3 grown dc Rob, Amanda (Tink113, you will hear lots from her), Kevin, dgs Bobby, Adam, Matthew, and Logan. Rob's wife Alison, Amanda's husband Jason, and Jason's family Jeff, Barb, and brother Eric round out our group this trip. We really do not intend to overwhelm  anyone... there are just a bunch of us and we have tons to share!!! So happy to be here! :dance3:

Hi there!
I booked this cruise last night after a little "encouragement" from my May 2009 buddies , who i can't wait to see again!! I am 99% sure we will travel, as long as no problems with work etc get in the way in the meantime (lots of redundancies going on where I work at the minute).
I am Sonya, 32 (but only officially 26 if you ever meet anyone I work with :rotfl2:) and a Personal Assistant in Local Government. My DH is Tony, 31, he is an Environmental Health Officer in Local Gov. We have been together 8 years . . . he had never been on a Disney trip before we met . . . now he looks at me like I'm crazy if I suggest going anywhere else! We have the Disney bug BAD, got married in Disneyworld, and this will be our second cruise!
Tony actually joined the DIS last year, so I will try get him onto this thread, if I can drag him away from the love of his life (the X-box!) to say hi to everyone.
I was very lucky to meet former May 2009 cruiser Mati last week again in Orlando, and we're hoping to see Jordan next year in Disneyland, so hopefully lot's of contact to keep us going upto 2012!!
I bet the next 18 months goes SO quickly!!!!!

Also, I hope we didn't overwhelm all of you with our crashing of the KLPs. We are a great group and don't worry, we are friendly with open arms! It'll be a great trip
I never really got to meet Belinda, so I hope she can come along so I can make up for that!!
How about a little fun?
What is everyone's guess for the Fantasy's Atrium statue? I am thinking possibly Crush from Finding Nemo.
I wish it was Admiral Donald on the Fantasy instead of the Dream because we are huge Donald Duck fans :donald::donald::donald:
Ohh, well Tony will hope its Belle in her yellow dress  *Sigh*. I am going to vote for . . . Tink! Oh - or does it have to be water related in some way? In which case I vote for the seagulls out of Nemo. "Mine, Mine" - love those birds!!!!

:) Is anyone on our FANTASY cruise in MAY 2012, booked on the DREAM in 2011? We have one booked in May 2011. Have the same stateroom booked on both ships. A 5e cat. 5th deck. Close to the movie theater.......can go to the show late at nite in my P. J. :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hi Don...
Nothing really all that mysterious about Val... She was our DIS leader :hippie: last time and a really great person to have along. Unfortunately, her husband was not as fond :confused3 of the cruise and not at all interested in revisiting same.
So looking forward to this group interaction! :woohoo: ?names anyone?

Ok , Carole wants us to come up w/ a name for our FANTASY cruise in MAY 2012. Ok I would say the Dummy name and the K-L-Pie names are no more, that's history.NEW SHIP, NEW CRUISE, NEW NAME. Let's start the new name list, and all of us take a vote. KSUCATS , you are[1st poster] the leader, what do you say to that? CAROLE.....DEAR, this Val person, she must have been a "big hit" with everyone....please fill in the "blank spot". LET THE SAILING BEGIN......I AM READY. :thumbsup2
Carole (Tink113sMom) is my mom. :upsidedow Yes, I know how redundant that sounded. Yes, Val is a "big hit". like we said, we were a unique & friendly bunch, so all our regular thread posters were "big hits". ;) Val, however, was our thread mom. She kept us all in order ... :rolleyes1 If you couldn't tell, we can get a bit chatty. That's how we all became one big happy KLP family. :grouphug: Since then, our family has grown as 3 of our KLPs have had babies (myself included) since then & another due in a few weeks (:lovestruc Right Lynsey! :lovestruc).
As far as who will be in the lobby, I'm with you Sonya. I vote for Tink....or Jimmeny Cricket (my mom's fav). However, I'm thinking it will be a Disney Princess if Disney is running a pattern. (Magic = Mickey (classic), Wonder = Ariel (Princess), Dream = Donald (Classic), Fantasy _____ (Princess???) In which case, I would vote for Belle!
Now for a name.... hmmm....
What is that show your always talking about Sonya, the Eastanders? lol For some reason that is all that comes to mind. :lmao:

Hmm I didn't think of ir being Tinkerbell or Jiminy Cricket, but I do like the sound of those. Crush would be good too....
Everytime I think of Fantasy I think of Sorcerer Mickey or something from Fantasia. I have no idea what it could be, so many to choose from.
I would love it to be Belle. :D If it was, I'm afraid we'd have to guard the statue to keep Tony from taking it home :P
On our last cruise in May 2009, we had wristbands made. They were lime green and VERY easy to identify people from our group. Some people even told their kids if they needed help or got lost they could look for the wrist bands for help. I think it was so great!! I think we need to do something like that again. What does everyone think?
Also, No Dream cruise for us until after the Fantasy. Baby is too little to be totting across the country. We plan on re-booking again on the ship! :D Especially since we'll be GOLD members by then. WOO HOO
I'm still thinking of a name.......hmmmm......

JorDan - I got all the wrist bands last time so I can look into it again. I loved looking at everyone's photos after wards and spotting all the neon green bands. :surfweb: I even got Brent to wear one, but he had to hide it under his sleeve so the Captain didn't see it and get after him. :lmao:

I agree that there could be a problem with Tony if Belle is in the atrium :dance3:. I too loved the wristbands from last time :lovestruc. Amanda ~ Do you remember how much more they would have been if you had the printing of the letters in a different color?
JorDan, you are now planting that re-booking seed in my mind :rolleyes1. Maybe we should all just plan on cruising together every few years :dance3:.

I am pretty sure Cinda :cutie: was the one who came up with the last name... where are you Cinda? We still have plenty of time though...
The bracelets were excellent insurance for the grandmother  in me... I was so afraid our 6 and 8 year old grandsons would get away from us and knew they would be safe with one of our group! They were only about a dollar each, so very well worth it!:thumbsup2

I keep thinking about the EC Fantastiks...but mainly because I LOVE that musical! (So, I'm biased...:)) It ran for 40 years in Grenich Village, NYC and was an amazing musical! I'm all for whatever the group wants or chooses though!
As for bracelets, I'm good with any color and/or pattern. I did think they were an excellent idea, particularly for those with children. Obviously, I'm in for four (and hopefully 5...if it's really little ;))! I think our neighbors are talked into going with us. They are like second parents to us now and frankly, we couldn't imagine going without them! (They are the ones on FB at HHN with us.)
As for rooms, we are officially booked in 6190 and 6192. They are aft connecting balcony rooms. While they aren't cheap, I'm excited about them and love to view the wake of the ship when sailing. If we can't be found, we'll be relaxing there...
How is everyone doing dinner? I asked for the early dinner, but I was told to pick my show time preference. I was told to choose between 5 and 9, so I picked 9. I'm hoping that if we have a little one, they will be asleep by then...
I had joined the board for my October 2011 cruise, but never really got "into" it... So glad our group plus many new cool people are going! :grouphug:Now, it's just time to sit back and wait!:woohoo:

Cinda... We are doing early dining the next time (Jan 2011) because of the babies... I figure they would be beyond tired :headache: by the time an 8:00 dinner was over, although we really prefer later. I guess we will re evaluate then for the May 2012 trip, however I know Jason's parents retire early so we may stick with early then as well.

:sad2: That is an awfully big number you just tossed out there Sonya :sad2:
Luckily, we only have 92 days until our cruise in Jan to tie us over.
I think early dinner will stick, because of the little ones. The only problems I have with early dinner are:
1) I feel like we eat so often that by the time I get to dinner, sometimes I'm not even hungry. popcorn::
2) After dinner, under no circumstances, can I go back to my room and make the mistake of laying down (even for a moment while waiting for the next activity). Get's me every time!!! Next thing I know, it's lights out for me. :cloud9:

We are on early dinner, as we want to sit near all of you this time around! have booked the later show at the minute because I don't want to be rushing back from port (takes me forever to get ready in the evenings!!). I might change that yet though.
There is nothing like the after-dinner sleep though! So satisfying!!!

For the wrist bands... I think we'll have enough kiddos this time to do an order of Kids and Adults. (I have a very small wrist so a kid size would fit me better anyway) I'm willing to splurge a bit on these since they were so awesome last time. Remember how I said I ran into KLPers at Downtown Disney afterwards cause of the wrist band! It would be great to have the words in a different color. I'm up for PINK! hahaha Any color would work. Maybe it will go with our name....
Welcome aboard Tony! So glad you guys are coming!!! I get 2 trips in a year with you guys. How exciting!!
I agree with you Don....7 days is too short!!! I would love to do a longer one...but I'd want it to spend more days at Castaway! :D
I know this sounds religious, but we will be going to 2 islands that start with St. Too bad we can't incorporate that., like the Pirates of St. Eastern Fantasy.
Maybe wait to see what kind of celebration they'll do on the ship- it might not be Pirates in the Caribbean still. I've been on it when it was the supercalifreudilous night or whatever it was called (been too long)

I guess I should do a more thorough introduction ;) My name is Bryan - Donald Applecore is the name of one of the first Donald Duck Cartoons that I ever saw & I've been a huge fan ever since. My DW is Lisa. We currently live in Grapevine, TX which is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. We are transplants from Memphis, TN, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about living in TEXAS!!!! (But some days, we do miss good Memphis BBQ)
Our first cruise ever was on the Disney Magic back in August 2009. We re-booked on-board even though we weren't sure when we would get to cruise again We finally settled on May 2012, and were thrilled to learn that the Fantasy would be our ship!!!! We are booked in Cabin 9547 - one of the deluxe inside staterooms. We had an ocean view cabin on the magic, but DW was SO EXCITED about the virtual porthole - she demanded an inside cabin on the Fantasy - LOL
We are looking forward to cruising with everyone!!!!:donald::donald::donald:

Tony, sounds like Sonya had a hard sell (NOT)! When I told Adam we were going, he just looked at me and shook his head. He knew better than to protest! (Plus, he secretly LOVES Disney...just too manly to admit it.)
While things can always change, I suspect we won't be getting a Disney fix for a bit. We are going to camp next weekend in Northwest Georgia...should be fun (and a bit cool)! I don't see any Disney trips in the future besides the cruise.:sad1:
I'm on call tonight, but have a massage and facial booked for tomorrow. Then, Adam and I are off to see about a new "family" car. We are going to look at Ford Flexes, Chevy Traverses, and Chrysler Aspens. I'm thinking we'll choose the Flex in the end, but will see...

I got all caught up with work (and making a photo book for our USF trip) :rolleyes1 and lo and behold, all these posts!!!
Love the countdown Sonya! Yes, it is a long time away but will be cool to see that number drop. :cool1:
Ok, so checked into taking Kai (my DS for those who don't know me). It wasn't so bad and debating about adding him to our cabin. Thoughts peoples? Should I keep it a Mother/Daughter trip or take my baby along for the ride? He will be 7 (yes, seven, isn't that crazy? :scared1:) by then. Sabrina will be 10!
Also looked and it seems we are on the late dinner so still need to have DU change that to early dinner to be with you guys. I think I will opt for the later show too. :thumbsup2
Tempted to move to an outside window but the virtual porthole AND the fact I am next door to Kathy and across the hall from JorDan is keeping me in my place. I am so excited!!! :dance3:
So Joni (DH) still has no interest. I told him Tony was going and that helped a bit but he just did not enjoy the last cruise. On the positive side, that means I should have plenty of free time (unlike last trip) but on the negative side, has anyone ever dined at Palo solo? :confused3 Can't imagine that would be fun but would hate to miss out on that. No ideas on names -- will think about it and ask Sabrina too. The mind of an almost 9 year old can produce some pretty interesting and creative things!!!!
As for Texas -- I am from Austin. I have lived here almost all of my life. My DH is from Finland (thus the long vacations there). Yes, I am a Longhorn and a Cowboys fan and yes, I still root for them even despite the horrible losing seasons.

In order to get pricing, I will need to wait until a few months before the cruise as I need an idea of how many we need. This is a small order (under 1,000) and they want exact, or close to, numbers. No worries, last time they were like $1.00-$1.50, so not bad at all.
However, I agree with my mom that I'm sure some of the guys on our trip might not want to wear them if they are pink. I'm fine with keeping with the glow in the dark, neon green. The color really made them easy to spot.

Will Kai be upset if you go without him?
We are early dinner and late show as well. I will be too stressed trying to hurry up and get ready for the early one after port days I think.
Re Palo, we probably won't do the dinner this time around, but we will do brunch - you're more than welcome to come to that with us! We know we get on!!!
I'm not worried about having a porthole - the only thing I would like is a veranda but I don't think I can swing the extra money with flight costs going up so much so I'll be sticking with our room I think! Do you know I checked prices earlier and our cabin has gone up £300 (about $500) since we booked Tuesday!!!! - I can't believe it!! I'm glad you all got me in early!!

Mati you can definitely join us at Palo! It would be great! Can't bear the thought of you eating there alone! Do they do Escargot there? LOL!
Amanda - I am happy to wear pink...:rolleyes1 but perhaps a green band might be better!
Jason can explain to me what all the fuss about Halo is! He has got a bigger gamerscore than me after all :worship:

Tony (& Jason), Gus and I have an Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii and he loves Halo so I'm sure he'd love to talk games with you guys as well!!
I'm more into Rockband, Guitar Hero and puzzle games like Jewel Quest & Zuma. I used to love Ghost Recon but kinda fell off the wagon. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on Epic Mickey when it comes out!!

Welcome Disneystick! I think you may have come up with a good name  for us~ "Eastern Fun on the Fantasy" sounds good to me... certainly short, to the point, and a contender in my way of thinking.
Carole
Didn't really think about naming, that was what I was calling my cruise excitement. Since now I am thinking about naming, here is one....since during Star Wars weekend in May, "May the Fantasy be with You doing the Eastern"
Just throwing a idea out. :goodvibes

AAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dream is a float!!!
AND if you search, you can hear the new horn!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!
I can't wait to see if ours is different. AMAZING!!!
I'm sooooooo excited. I want to go now!!!!!
Also, on the name....I think it should be something short, not a full sentence. It was easy when we were the "KeyLime Pie-rates" (KLPs). We'd want it to fit on the bracelet too. That's my suggestion for now......

We'll see. He could change his mind but not so sure I want him to. :rolleyes1
Mati, I'd say to being Kai (assuming he wants to go). You know he'll have fun with all the other kids and the price on a third in our cabin is less than $400 (at least for an infant)...
As for the Palo, what if all the ladies had a night out? That would give the men time to do whatever (or babysit) and then noone would be alone? I think they even have a big room that can be booked as long as you have a certain number of people. Just a thought... (Something I'd be up for, at least!)
Amanda, I have to agree on the pink. Obviously (with my job), I think breast cancer is very important but that's not what this cruise is about (at least for me). Plus, I can tell you now that no man in my group is going to wear anything with pink in it...not even a male infant. I'll go with the group and support whatever, but kind of liked the neon green (maybe with some colored writing) myself...
Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween today! I'm hoping to carve some pumpkins in a little while...

JorDan... I agree with you on the name,;) shorter is better considering we refer to ourselves that way many multiples of times! AND I love the Dream's horn too, now I am more curious than ever about the Fantasy.
Mati... I am along with Cinda regarding Kai... couldn't really imagine this sort of trip without all my kids, can't you tell? I even bring them when they are grown! Concerning the Palo night... we have been given the private room twice and it is very nice., The room holds 12, I believe. There were 8 :grouphug: of us and we had plenty of room for others. You are more than welcome to either join us or I wouldn't complain too much about going an additional time with "the girls",:dance3: although I really would like to do tea... Anyway, going alone should not be an issue...
Hope all of you have a super evening... pirate:

Tempted to move to an outside window but the virtual porthole AND the fact I am next door to Kathy and across the hall from JorDan is keeping me in my place. I am so excited!!! :dance3:

Hey Mati :) ~ I think if you want to bring Kai along, you should. You know him and know if he would enjoy cruising again :woohoo:. Right now our group, JorDan, Lynsey and Sonya all have early dinner and have our reservations linked so we are at two tables of 6. Please let us know here or on facebook if you switch to early dinner. JorDan is our expert :dance3: at calling DCL and getting our reservations linked. I'm glad that your primo cabin location is making you happy with what you have . I too am thinking that that virtual porthole will be pretty cool . You WILL not have dinner at Palo alone . Some of us want to do a group bruch and maybe even dinner. You are more than welcome to join our family for dinner at Palo if no group one is arranged :). I would like to try the Palo Tea as we have never done that.

Thansk for the info Amanda :). I agree about the pink (darn men ). I really liked DIS green ones from last time. VERY easy to spot and I especially LOVE telling the kids to seek out a green bracelet if they needed help .

I will not be going to Remy. After I saw the menu, I wouldn't even book it if it was the same price as Palo. Except maybe for the selection of after dinner caramels :lovestruc Other than that, nothing looked appealing.
Unless they have changed the rules, we can only book Palo once for dinner right? We usually get the private room for a "adult family palo dinner" with our crew so brunch or tea would work best with our DIS family. I know mom would really love to try tea. We've done brunch and it was OK. Dinner, in my opinion, is far better for the same price.

Wow you all have been busy! I didn't expect to check back in and have all the pages to read through already!
Let's see - I LOOOOOOOVED the braclets the last cruise so I say that's definate must!!! I think pink is a great color but don't think I could convince Jason to wear a pink wristband the entire cruise. :thumbsup2
I also love the idea of having a ladies tea or brunch at Palo. I loved the brunch last time around, but since alot of our men might get too jealous over missing out I'd definately like to try the tea. I'm game for anything! :cutie:
I hope the nursery won't be too hard to book so we can have some adult time. I'm also pretty excited since I read that they have times available where kids under 3 can be accompanied by an adult to play in the kids clubs! The kids clubs look soo amazing from the drawings.

I can pretty much tell you that we would LOVE Remi, so will definitely be going. We really like tasting menus and French dining, so we are really excited about it being on the ship. It IS pricey, but seeing as to how our last French meal was $540 for the two of us..it's really a bargain!
As for babysitting, we'll be pretty fortunate (assuming we have a baby at the time of the cruise). We are bringing our babysitters with us! (With the expectation that they will keep the little one here and there...) They might be willing to keep more than one, but that would be up to everyone's comfort. Obviously, we trust them immensely with our future child!
Sonya, if you book a balcony on the back of the ship on deck 6, you could be our balcony neighbor! Then, we'd have a triple-length balcony which would be really cool!
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Mine has been rather brutal (up most of last night and an appendectomy on my afternoon "off")!

Where is everyone seeing the menu for Remy? :confused3 I am so behind! I don't know that I would spend $75 there either but would still like to see!
Now, is it possible for me to make my one brunch/tea/dinner reservation for Palo and add you guys even though you are booked on another reservation?
Carole - I am pretty sure I can add Kai at any time so guessing it won't be a problem. I'll add him next month.
Joni is feeling a bit left out now that I am going to add him but he still has no interest in going so it will be a Mom & Kids trip! Of course he probably doesn't realize I will have to add on 1-2 days to visit WDW or Universal before or after. Maybe I won't mention that just yet!

I tried to find the menu for you, but looks like Disney pulled it. :confused3 It was posted to their Facebook page. I know I saw it recently, so they must have just removed it. I remember hearing that the head chef from Victoria & Albert's along with a DCL chef created the menu. There are supposed to be options to dine with the chef (at an added cost, for sure) & to dine in their extensive wine room. I also remember hearing that Remy will top out at this most expensive upgraded dining option to date for all the major cruise lines. Those that commented on the main boards that have been to V & A's have stated the average cost for 2 people tends to be $350, so they thought $75 per person was reasonable. However, when you add in the fact that when you pay for your cruise, you have already paid for your meal and the $75 is on top of that, who know how much you actually end up paying.
Here is a quote I found regarding the menu "On the heels of its announcement that the Disney Dream cruise ship will feature a gourmet restaurant called Remy, Disney Cruise Line released a preliminary menu for the eatery. A multi-course meal, which features dishes like smoked bison and Japanese waygu."
Regarding booking Palo, you can book for anyone who is linked to your ressie. I'm thinking that there may be a lot of interest, so we may need to request the private dining room and make the ressie while on the ship. party:

Oh Sonya, so sorry to hear your news :grouphug:. I went through a similar situation. I was at my company for 22 years. Four years ago, my entire department (along with a few others) was given 18 months notice about our jobs being consolidated at corporate headquarters. I still don't know if all that notice was good or bad :confused3. I'm sure you'll find something new and exciting :thumbsup2.
Here's a link to job openings in the Walt Disney Company :rolleyes1 :

I'm not surprised. There aren't as many inside rooms & the novelty of the virtual porthole has definitely upped the interest in the inside rooms. I know my wife demanded one:lmao:

Just in case anyone is interested, Disneystore.com has some good deals right now. They have Mickey Polos on sale 70% off. Reg Price - $46.95 (I feel like they were $60 on the ship) marked down to $13.99! :yay: I have purchased these Polo's on the ship before with the Disney Cruise Line Logo for DH and he wears them to work all the time. He says they are really comfortable. Looks like these are from the parks.
"Our Champion Performance Mickey Polo delivers the ultimate in cool thanks to breathable, mesh-textured fabric that wicks moisture to keep you dry -- and Mickey, of course! Additional features include breathable mesh inserts and easy-fit sleeves."
I just ordered several for Christmas Gifts for the guys in my family. Perfect for our upcoming Jan 2011 cruise. :cool1:

Not sure if anyone is interested but I saw this on Facebook and decided to transfer my DCL ressie over to them so I could be part of their group as well! From what I've heard in the past, they've had some pretty cool special events. Anyhow, just thought I'd pass it along in case you weren't aware...
http://allears.net/DCLFantasy/
BTW, I was told they are not offereing any additional on board credit with this event since they will be giving away numerous things during the cruise. Just in case that sways you either way.
Have a great week everyone!!! :goodvibes

Hmmm, not sure who that info came from but we booked this cruise just last month on the WBTA as a dummy date and had it switched over to this one. So, we have the on board credit and 10% discount and we were able to keep all of it upon transfering to the Allearsnet group. I even called DCL to confirm. The only thing you wouldn't get is any on board credit from your current travel agent but that really doesn't apply since they won't usually transfer between travel agencies. Plus, like I said, Mouse Fan Travel is not offering on board credit for this cruise since they will be hosting special events and giving away gifts on board.
Anyway, no pressure to anyone. I've never done anything like it before so just thought it might be fun to attend some of their private events and have a few people I already know to go with. :goodvibes

Yes, from what I understand that is the case. However, if you have already booked with a TA, such as Dreams Unlimited, you wont be able to transfer your ressie to AllEars. To book with them, you would have to cancel your current booking and re-book with AllEars. This would mean you would loose the 10% off and on board credit. Also, since the prices have gone up, you would end up paying even more.
I emailed AllEars to find out what the "extras" are that they are promising and was told that they don't know yet because nothing is scheduled yet. In other words, the "extras" are still in the planning stage. Wonder what it will be.

Yeah, that's a bummer about not being able to transfer between travel agencies but it makes sense. Even though, I know people who have been able to do it and keep their discounts. However, they were really unhappy with their current agency and worked it out somehow. But Mouse Fan Travel was upfront that they don't accept transfers from other agencies.
The MF agent that emailed me back said it would be a while until they annouced anything event wise but I really had nothing to loose since I wasn't booked through another travel agent and we already have on board credit so not to worried about that.
Anyhow, I just thought it was a little something extra to be excited about and wanted to share in case anyone else was interested and could transfer. :goodvibes

It came from me. I should have said that anyone using Dreams Unlimited isn't eligible to participate in this (unless you cancel and rebook). Since I have $450 in onboard credits between my two rooms, I just can't see changing. Plus, my room rates are really good for the cabins we have booked.
Sorry Amanda, I replied too quickly before reading your post...

Hmmmmm I've NEVER booked a vacation with a travel agent ever. I like to be 100% in control. Maybe that's why I'm so good at linking ressies.
AllEars would be fun, but I still want to deal with my own booking. (Weird I know...is that a surprise to any of you!? :P)

Ok jumping in as we are now OFFICIALLY Booked!!! I didn't want to get to attached to the thread and everyone if we couldn't get what we needed when we booked onboard the WONDER this past 4 day cruise! (we had a great time it was absolutely amazing, cold the first day, rough seas the first night and overcast on Monday BUT the staff, the activities, CC, and sea days were awesome!)
Let me introduce myself and the person going with me!
I'm Amy I'll have turned 30 on May 18th the day before we get on the Fantasy!!! At least that will soften that blow of getting older! We live in Orlando 12 minutes from our driveway to Epcot! We go about 1-2 times a month to the theme parks, and we drive to the Port to watch the ships sail out to sea every other month or so! I am going to college for Sign Language Interpretation and communication disorders. This will be our 4th Cruise on DCL.
Traveling with us is my mother Angela she'll be 56 years old this is her 4th Cruise as well she loves shopping on QVC and she works in an office for an insurance agency.
We booked a room on Deck 8 that is handicap accessible so hopefully it will be easier to use then the non HA room we had this cruise. Which proved difficult with her scooter and using the facilities.

Thanks for the tip Chasity! It looks like fun but as I think Cinda, Amanda or JorDan said, the price of the cruise has gone up a ton so at this point, transferring from DU to another TA would cost $$.
I was shocked to discover that the cost of adding Kai (my DS(5) for those of you who don't know me that well yet) went from @$500 to @$800 in 9 days time!!!! :scared1: I still added him because I told him he was going -- no way out. She told me it was still cheaper with him than what the original cabin would cost us now so I checked it out. She is right -- the price has gone up a ton AND inside cabins are now $3-500 more than outside cabins! That is crazy!!!! So happy you guys got me to book when I did! :cloud9:

Ok -- so Friday has finally arrived :cool1: and it has been a long long week.
I should be doing a million things with work so of course, I made one last cup of coffee and thought I would update all of you!
This is pretty much me right now ---> :surfweb:
So....my Baby Girl, Sabrina, turned 9 this week! :cloud9: Kind of crazy. She is so tall now and getting to be so grown up. It is hard to imagine what she will be like by the time we go on this cruise -- scares me to think about it! :scared1: I may be asking some of you for advice on raising a tween at that point! We had a mini birthday party but she opted to take some friends to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1) as her "birthday party". We have a place here called Alamo Drafthouse where you can see a movie, eat, drink and relax. popcorn:: The food is actually pretty good and of course, you get to have a beer or glass of wine while you watch. It is also very quirky (as Austin is) so a lot of fun. :upsidedow We'll go there next Saturday.
Ok Mati...why are you telling us all this? :confused3 Well, because this should explain why we are now (as if it ever stops) obsessed with Harry Potter!!! :dance3: We are watching every HP movie leading up to the big day. We started on Wednesday so tonight is movie #3. It has been crazy getting kids home from school, to swim/tae kwon do, bath, dinner and then ready for movie at a decent hour. It has been fun but very tiring.
I also had the added excitement of getting Kai finally added to the reservation and we all took the online AOL tour of the ship! Can I say WOW! :yay::yay::yay: The kids are so excited and LOVED LOVED LOVED the idea of the virtual porthole. At this point, I can't imagine not having it.
We moved our dinner to the early dinner and the show to the late show and we should now have the pleasure of dining with some of you .
I do also have to say -- I am starting to be with Cinda on the Remy thing. :rolleyes1 I think if Joni were with me, we would pay the $75 -- it just looks like an amazing experience! It will be interesting to hear the early reviews from the Dream.
Ok, that's it for now. I hear the bing of the email coming in on my work computer and guess it is time to earn this cruise. :scared:
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

We can commiserate together about being 30 together! and we both love QVC but she has all the apps, the computer program that notifies you when a new item is on air, she sleeps with qvc on, we have done the studio tour twice, we saw two live shows at the studio, and had it not been for this cruise we would be going on the "quacker cruise" yeah I vetoed that idea when I decided the Fantasy would be my 30th birthday celebration! We also have gone to the Outlet in Lancaster, and we are going to the one in Myrtle Beach next year!! She is a qvc NUT!
Welcome Amy and Angela!!!!:cheer2:
I am so unbelievably jealous of how close you live to WDW!!!! That's my lottery-winning dream!!!!
Thanks so much! We moved here 2 years ago and while its hard since I am unemployed its giving me the chance to go back to school to do what I want to do not what I have to do just to survive. Definitely don't move down here without a job or a ton of savings jobs are hard to come by and to be in a nicer area rent is not cheap!

I wonder when they will post the menus for the new restaurants, I'm dying to see what they will look like. I also can't wait until people start doing trip reports from the Dream so that we can see more pictures of the final product. :thumbsup2
I've not been very creative here lately, the only thing I can think of "Fantasy" themed would be something with Fantasmic or Fantasia.... I'll keep working on it.

I am totally in for Zumba. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking about starting.
By the way, Did you guys see this on the main thread:
"Just got off the magic and we saw the pirate ship at Castaway being torn to pieces on the side, kinda weird not seeing it there."
"No one is really sure about the FD but reports say that the Black Pearl :woohoo: will be taking its place soon. Filming for pirates 4 finished on wednesday i think. So it should be soon. The FD was in a bad state of direpair and It was time for something new."
"Our waiter told us that they were tearing down the pirate ship because of the age, and with the upgrades to Castaway Cay that they were replacing it with something special!"

A few other things I read on the main boards.... interesting....
Going to a different show time may be a challenge...
from The DIS Discussion Forums - DISboards.com - Disney Cruise Line Forum by tigger2on
I found this on a travel agency site:
"The Disney Dream will be assigning evening show times to guests just as it assigns dining times. Guests with main dining can view the show at 5 p.m. or 9 p.m. Guests with late dining can view the show at 5 p.m. or 7 p.m. If you are already booked on the Dream, your show time has been pre-assigned.
Cast Members will scan guests cards at the entrance to the theater. Guests wishing to change their show time can request the change, but it will not be guaranteed. "
"Disney will offer guests the use of "Portable Wave Phones" on board the ships of the Disney Cruise Line starting in December (December 16th on the Disney Wonder; December 18th on the Disney Magic.) The portable phones can send and receive phone calls and text messages from other Wave phones when used on board the ship or on Castaway Cay. The phones do not work off the ship, and are it doesn't sound like they can work with other carriers - you can use the device to call other Wave Phones on Disney's network, but not to call home.
Each stateroom will come equipped with two of the phones; concierge staterooms come with four phones. There is currently no charge to use the service, but you can rent additional units for $3.50 per unit per day if you need more than come with your room. There is a $250 charge per unit if they are lost / stolen / damaged, so that's something to consider before handing them to your pool-bound kids.
Disney is planning to use these phones to replace the pager system currently used by the Youth Activities department, which means that one parent/guardian must carry the unit at all times. If you don't have kids in Youth Programming and you don't want to use the phones, you can turn them in and Disney will turn off the service for your stateroom for the cruise."

The Wave phone is a great idea! If they were water resistant, they would be even better!
While I'll miss the flexibility of theater times, I do think that set times are a good idea from a crowd control stance.

To post a picture, you need to have a URL link of the picture, so like find one on your facebook. Right click and go to properties and it'll list the URL link there. Copy it, then on your reply to thread page click on the little picture of the mountain/sun and that's where you past it in. Just don't double the http://

Please disregard the boy (OK, he's 20, not really a boy :rotfl2: ) on the far right in the blue shirt and tan shorts. That's my son Jake's friend Sean who went to WDW with us this past May for his first WDW trip ever :scared1:. What a neglected child he was :rotfl:. Anyway, time for some introductions . On the far left is my wonderful, fantastic, awesome son Jake (can you tell that I like him just a "little" bit ) He really is a great kid, as my Key Lime Pie-rates friends will attest to. He is currently a Junior at Purdue University, majoring in Physics and minoring in Astronomy and maybe Math if he has time :). This cruise will celebrate Jake's graduation from Purdue. Also joining us will be Jake's girlfriend :cloud9: MaryRose (I'll find a picture of her to post later). She has never been on a cruise or to WDW, so I'm hoping that I have enough vacation time at work to tack on a week at WDW after the cruise :woohoo:.
Next to Jake is me, Kathy :cool1:. HUGE Disney lover, as my license plate advertises (DZNY NUT :)). I'm an Accountant by day to pay for my WDW addiction. I have lost count, but I believe I am nearing the "50 trips to WDW" milestone :dance3: . I love to help family and friends plan their WDW trips for as little $$ as possible :surfweb:. I think of it as a challenge and I love doing it.
Next to me is my DH Brian. We have been married 25 years (HS sweethearts, awe ). He is co-owner of a sign production company. He is not the WDW nut that I am, but "tolerates" a trip to WDW every few years. In the mean time, I fill in with trips with Jake or friends. Brian absolutely LOVES Disney cruises :woohoo:. He has even admitted to me that he tears up when the ship sounds it's horn :). This will be our 4th Disney cruise.
Brian and I bought into DVC in 1999 (VWL is our home resort) and love every minute of it. We have done several trips with family and friends using our points to pay for lodging. Brian is totally spoiled, because he refuses to stay at a value resort :scared1:.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's pictures :cool1:.

I am Shaunna(36), we are from California and have been to Disneyland many times we went to WDW for the first time this past November. It was my daughter's wish from Make-A-Wish, and we loved it! My husband Patrick(32) will be sailing with me and my son Spencer and daughter Molly, 6 and 4 at sailing. We saw the Disney Dream on the Disney Christmas Day parade and I just knew we had to go on a Disney Cruise, soooo I booked it. Thankfully we have plenty of time to save up for it. Sorry I went quiet for so long but you may understand when I finish introducing myself and my mom!
First since I like to save the best for last I'll start with my mom ...just kidding I'll go first she really is the best!
I'm Amy currently 28 but will be 30 when I board the boat (my birthday is May 18th I'll be a newly minted adult....:lmao: ) I am back in college, I am currently studying Sign Language Interpretation for my Associates in Arts which I am currently maintaining Honors in all my classes and then will be moving on to the University of Central Florida for my Double Major Yep you heard that right DOUBLE major! I am majoring in Education, and Communication Disorders. I haven't decided what my Masters will be in yet! I live 12 minutes from Epcot, 45 minutes from Port Canaveral and I am a Full time Student and a Part time Beach Bum :lmao:
The Cruise on the Fantasy will be our 4th sailing, and our 2nd 7 night Eastern. We are creatures of habit plus what a way to celebrate my birthday! and since we have no interest in Mexico the 3 sea days and a new ship it was perfect.
My mother Angela will be 56 when we sail she works full time for a major insurance agency and is a QVC shopping nut....we'd cruise more but it would dip into her savings for buying things off the tv :happytv: :lmao: :lmao: I love cruising....she loves Shopping...yeah I am working on converting her but it seems hard :teacher: for her to see the math of it all. We share an apartment but once I am done in school I will be moving out and on my own...but I'll take the cheap (ie really cheap like free) rent while I can so I can maximize the school funds.
Here is one of the few photos we have together its from our last cruise (november 2010) we did the Wonder 4 night (our 2nd 4 night see a trend we don't vary much ....bahamas or eastern caribbean) and had a wonderful time! My Mother is on the Left and I am on the Right....
http://iamgrumpy.smugmug.com/Disney-Cruise-November-2010/Disney-Cruise-2010/Disney-Cruise-2010-226/1087094516_wj8TQ-S.jpg
We go around every 3 months to watch the ship sail to get our "fix" and we love having dinner at Rusty's we usually end up with a coupon for a buy 1 get 1 free entree so the price is right. I hope to make many more trips down this year to get photos of the dream and then when the fantasy arrives of its arrival.
We will be in a Handicap Accessible stateroom to accommodate my mom's motorized scooter (ecv) and to help her not have barriers to have to climb up into for the restroom area of the stateroom. It will be interesting to see how this helps our expreience after the difficult time we had in November with her back and knees. (Mom had a Spinal Fusion, and a knee replacement in the last 10 years and has 2 more major surgeries facing her in the next 10 years)
Sorry I can talk a lot and type just as much so apologizing now if this was rambling :)

Hey all!
It's official! :woohoo: We're in!!!! :woohoo: I'm soooooo excited! This will be our 2nd Disney cruise... It's our first Eastern :-) I can't wait!!! Our last was the Disney Magic on the Western with the Valentine Voyagers in Feb. of '09. This Feb we are doing a 9 nighter with RCI (the deals were too good to pass up)... For the Fantasy, I'm looking forward to a warmer cruise AND to getting back to Disney's line :-) My boys (all three of them, haha!) like to do low, midship, inside rooms, but I like windows so I'm eager to see the virtual portholes! What a cool idea! Sorry-- I'm rambling... I've been biting my tongue as I hover around bc I didn't want to get my hopes up before I was officially booked :-)
Sooo-- Cruising with us are Jen (Me- 31), Chad (DH- 33), Joey (DS- 9 at sailing), Alex (DS- 7 at sailing). I'll figure out how to do the picture thing later (I was booking between work appointments and don't have much time before my next!).
So excited to join you all! It looks like a wonderful group!!!

Now that our cruise is officially next year I think I can start getting on here more often (well as often as possible with a new 5 1/2 week old right now)!
What part of WV are you from? We're in Princeton.
Opposite end-- We're up in Wheeling :-) About to get hammered by snow, so it was a good day to book the Caribbean, haha :-)

Welcome aboard!!! Another Chad!! My hubby will be 33 with we cruise too.
It's funny, when I see people officially booking onto our cruise, I keep thinking "wow more early birds like us". But then when I really think of it- we cruise in 1 year and 4 months!!!! WOOOOO!!! I've just been looking forward to this cruise for too long! :D It's finally getting closer

JorDan, we were definitely "early birds" considering that we had this cruise planned before we got off the ship in May 2009 :scared1:. We are getting closer :grouphug: !!

Family has left and now I can get on with fun things like -- thinking about this cruise!!!! :dance3:
Welcome Jen and family! My DD (Sabrina) will be 10 at the sailing. I am on the fence on bringing my DS (Kai). If he comes he will be 7.
Will work on getting a picture posted of me and Sabrina later today.
We should work on a name too -- is it too soon to start thinking of magnets? :rolleyes1 I guess anything that can distract me from work right! :goodvibes

We have a pretty big crew cruising with us. The first photo is me (Amanda - 29), my DH (Jason-29), and my DS (Logan - will be almost 2 when we cruise).
The 2nd photo is a better one of Logan - we are leaving in a couple weeks for his 1st cruise on the Disney Magic. The 3rd photo is my mom (Carole - Tink113sMom), my dad (Bob), and my younger brother (Kevin -23). The 4th photo is my older brother (Rob-36), Sister-in-law (Alison -36) and their boys: Bobby (11 at sailing), Adam (9 at sailing), and Matthew (2.5 at sailing). The last photo is of my husbands family. Mother-in-law (Barb), Father-in-law (Jeff), and brother in law (Eric-24) (My hubby is in the photo too). This will be his family's first time on a Disney cruise and Eric's 1st time cruising EVER!!!
We are all super excited about the trip. Eric has been suffering from some very serious issues lately and has recently had two major surgeries. This cruise has really given him something to look forward to.

Currently on the Dream - Key to the World is also Key to the LIGHTS!!! "When you come into the room, you put your KTTW card in the slot, which turns on the electricity to the room. When you leave, you (hopefully) take the card with you, which keeps you from leaving a bunch of lights on and thus saving electricity. "

OK, so what happens if you want to leave and your KTTW card is in the slot. Guess you'll have to find your hubby's and switch. Cool concept to save energy, but I'm thinking this might take a little getting used to. Watch, I'll be the one to get stuck in the shower and have the lights go out! :rotfl2:

LOL on the shower! Norwegian Epic had this concept also. Our room attendant gave us a spare card :rolleyes1: on the very first day to put in and leave in. We were told that it controlled the air conditioning again, and we are 'chilly temp' sleepers, so it was a big concern for us.
My assumption is that it does not read the mag strip at all because he pulled a stack out of his pocket and just appeared to pick a random one and put it in. Issue bypassed.
If it doesn't control the air on the Fantasy, then I'm all for conserving a little electricity. :littleangel:

I'm Susan (42) and my DH is Tony (42). We have been married for nearly 22 years and have done Disney in one form or another every other year during our marriage, save for one year that we did a Florida wedding and group concensus was to go to Universal (blasphemy, I know). We are Disney-freaks (the good kind!)---DH even has an arm band tattoo of Mickey heads.
This will be our third cruise, but second Disney cruise. We were on the Magic in Feb/March of 2010, NCL Epic in Sept 2010, and are so excitedly awaiting this Fantasy trip.
We have two kids (Kevin, 21 and Kelsey, 17) that both were on the prior Disney cruise and had a blast. It was Kelsey's 2nd Disney cruise, having traveled as a baby-sitter previously. Only Kelsey (at this point) will be joining us this time around, however we have a slew of family going along:
Lisa (my sister)
Liz (neice) and her twin 6 year old boys (Kayden and Kyran)
Jon (nephew, and Liz's brother)
Jessica (Jon's wife)
Kenlee and Jon-Jon (Jon and Jessica's kids)
Mary Kaye (Jon and Liz's mother, who is also Lisa, mine and Chris's sister)
Grandma Longshore (Jon and Liz's grandma)
Bob and Mona (DH's parents)
Lori (DH's sister) and Robert (Lori's DH)
Lori's son Eric (and his friend Ryan)
Lori's daughter Cortney
Robert's kids (Ashley-16, Robbie-14, Chris-13)
Chris (my brother) and his daughter Elise-18
That clocks us in at 25 people over 10 rooms. And there are others that are contemplating joining us!

We just booked while on the Magic last week.
This was our first DCL cruise and DW loved it so much that we signed up for two more (the other will be in the Med in 2012 once the dates come out).
This cruise it will be me (Bill), DW (Eileen), DD (Jenn - just turned 25) and DS (Chris - 20).
I just went back and read the earlier posts and saw the question about the lower pricing for oceanview vs inside cabins. We were going to get an inside cabin until the DCL rep onboard the Magic said they were higher priced due to the popularity of the virtual porthole. So we opted for oceanview cabins (6004 and 6008). Works for me as one faces forward looking over the bow!
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Thanks. We are also DVC and used our points for this last cruise but will pay cash for the next ones, using our points to stay at WDW a few days prior or after the cruise.
I was already hooked! We did two river cruises on the old Majestic, now American, Cruise Lines. I loved it and couldn't wait to do more. DW was a little more hesitant about DCL but she really enjoyed the spa, Palos, and both our DIS friends and table mates.
But I'm the travel (and travelling) person in our family so you probably won't meet her until embarkation day. We'll be taking our two adult children as they were disappointed we did something Disney without them (they've been going to WDW since before they were born).

This would be nice, but several of us would lose our discounts associated with booking on our last cruise as well as our onboard credits. I love that website though, so hate that I can't participate!
:goodvibes
I just transferred a dummy booking we made to the TA handling the AllEars group. You will not lose your 10% booking discount or your original OBC that you get from DCL. You will not get any additional OBC .
We have travelled with that group before on the Eastern Caribbean. They are a blast to travel with. We had private cocktail parties, special events with great prizes and a great time.

Just a curiosity question (although I think I already know the answer :) ), but do you know if there's a way to be a part of the group without having your reservation through them? I'm assuming DVC ressies can't be transferred, so I'll skip that question altogether :) It sounds like SO much fun, but, although I love my DVC, this is one of the few down sides of DVC cruising :(

You can always call DCL and ask to have your reservations linked. You'll need to know the DCL reservations numbers for everyone. Can't hurt to ask.
We had two families on my cruise last week that booked through different agents and were on two different decks. They managed to get linked together so they could be seated together at dinner.

Finally getting around to posting a picture of me and Tony!
This is us in Disneyworld in October 2010.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i291/TonyG_03/Dis.jpg
We have been together for 9 years in July, and will have been married 5 years this year - we got married in WDW at the Wedding Pavillion. We have two dogs - Wilbur and Milly - and no children. Children tend to love us though so any of you with children will probably get plenty of spare time on the cruise as they will be playing with me!! I work at a PA in Local Government, and Tony is an Environmental Health Officer in Local Government. We get to Disneyworld as much as we possibly can considering we are a 9 hour flight away. We are going to Disneyland this year (with Jordan who we met on the 2009 cruise - yey!!!):cool1: and are just back from our first Christmas in WDW (which was colder than England, so least said, soonest mended about that!!!). This will be our second cruise and we cannot wait!!

So exciting to see more people joining the cruise! We are going to have a blast. I'm already trying to think up what our fish extender is going to be and what gifts we might do. Woohoo!
Ok since we are doing the formal introductions here we go. It will be me (Lynsey - 28), my husband Jason (29), and our daughter Kaitlyn (17 months at sailing). I've been to Disneyworld multiple times since I was 5 and on 2 DCL cruises. I've definately been converting my husband since we've been married and going on on our Disneymoon in 2006. I definately hope my daughter will grow to love Disney as much as I do! :cutie:
I'm an accountant (CPA) at a bank and my husband in an environmental scientist. In addition to our daughter we have 3 furry kids - 2 dogs (Bucky and Abby) and 1 cat (Milo). We both love the outdoors and working out, but since having Kaitlyn it's been hard to get in the 6 day a week workouts I was used to!
Here is a picture of our little family. Kaitlyn was just 11 days in this picture so I definately have alot of fluid and baby weight! We'll definately have to post update pictures of everyone, especially those with kids since they will change soo much before the cruise.

Wow, looks like you've got us beat! ;) Glad to see we aren't the only large family cruising. Welcome!!!

Hmmm... not sure. I upload my photos to webshots and then link them that way. I know that there are a few link options. I think I use the one that is for forums. You can try different links if you have them available and click "preview post" to see if it works before posting.

Welcome Everyone!!!
We are going to be one BIG Happy DIS family on the ship!
Could you imagine if we all were on the same dining rotation?? We could take up the entire resturant I'm sure. That would be fun!!
Sonya- Heck yes I'm soooo excited for June!! I think Gus and Chasity will be joining us for a bit too.
Great pictures!!! Now let's get the Dream sailing and onto more stuff about OUR ship!! :D

Hi everyone!
I just found this thread! I haven't had time to catch up yet...looks like I'll have a lot to read. ;)
My name is Stephanie, DH is Simon. We'll be taking our 2nd Disney cruise and are so excited that it will be on the Fantasy in a Concierge room! We'll be taking our DD, Elle, who will have just turned 4 right before the cruise. Feels so funny saying that when she's not even 3 yet. We're also hoping that we might have another very young Dis'er on our hands by then, but more than likely not.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone over the next 16 months! :goodvibes

Hmmm, not sure. I've only posted pics using photobucket. Once I have the picture loaded I just copy the link on the photobucket page and paste it in my message box here. Hopefully someone else has more insight than I do on this! :goodvibes

I did the same thing. I had problems until I created a Photobucket account....now it's so easy, it's ridiculous.

Today is the Inaugural cruise of the Dream.
My friend Ricky from Inside the Magic, just got back from the media cruise. I'm looking through all his amazing pictures.
It makes me SOOOOOOO excited for the new ship..... but.........
I'm kinda sad that I won't be on the Magic! :confused3 The Magic is my home, I've been on it 4 times. I can close my eyes and see every detail of that ship. I'm excited about the new Fantasy, but also feel like I'm cheating on my old friend the Magic. We'll see how it goes. I want to crusie every ship, but I think the Magic will always have a special place in my heart.

I know exactly what you mean!! The Magic is the only ship I've ever been on.
I feel like I know the crew and it'll be strange to not see them around the other ships!
we will be on board with you . We are Dee, Don and Allen

Just did the Magic at the beginning of January - what was strange was NOT seeing the same crew - so many of them have moved over to the Dream; and I imagine some will then move over to the Fantasy - so you may be seeing them, afterall. Kept expecting to see Neville, Bingo Nat and the rest, especially after 25 days straight in April on the TA and Med. :sad2:
