1) Deposits for Mainden voyages, and all cruises 2012 and thereafter, will now require a 20% deposit ... regardless of Castaway Club status, and regardless of whether you book while onboard.

2) Reservations for Maiden Voyages are not transferrable (you cannot change dates).

3) If you book a Maiden Voyage, and later find an individual in your party / stateroom will not be able to sail ... that person will forfeit their 20% reservation / deposit. The only exception will be if you have someone else take that position. In this case, there is a $50 document charge is the change takes place within 45 days of sailing (likely, to create a new set of cruise documents).

I got the email yesterday that they are booking the Fantasy starting April 2012. I was so excited:cool1: Talked to the hubby and I think he knows it would be a losing battle to fight this one. So I'll be on line tomorrow looking at sailing dates! We've been on the Magic twice in '08 and '09; thought we would wait for the new ships before taking another. Hope to have the pleasure of meeting some of you on a future FANTASY cruise!

Best Wishes!

We booked cat 10A ... it's the only inside stateroom category with the split bath. There aren't too many of these.

Would LOVE to know how many staterooms were booked by Gold & Platinum CC. Let's see who books via Silver CC, and newbies! :surfweb:

We booked yesterday at 5am (PST).... only by chance did I come across that the booking was happening. Didn't get an email or anything from DCL and we're gold members. Yeah another MV (sailing on the Dream in Jan)!! We are definitely going to be broke for the next 2 years....

We received an e-mail on the 18th ... informing us we could book on the 19th. VERY SHORT NOTICE indeed! I contacted my T/A immediately ... I think they were caught off guard as well.

We are Platinum.

Booked the Fantasy MV yesterday morning. We are sailing on the MV of the Dream in January. We also sailed on the MV of the Magic in 1998 and the Wonder in 1999. So 4 for 4 on the maiden voayages. Yeah.

They have only gotten better as the time has gone by. So we are expecting a great time in January on the Dream and an even better time on the Fantasy the next year.

The Easter Bunny may make air fare and overnight hotel accomodations a tad more expensive. Can you imagine the costs associated if this was an inaugural cruise / new Disney ship at Christmas? :santa:

That e-mail is generated manually by DU personnel. It is subject to human error. When my cruise was booked, somehow the deposit information was incorrect ... so I had to make an additional deposit for the correct amount. All works out in the long run. :thumbsup2

I just upgraded my room on the cruise. I booked first thing yesterday and grabbed a 10A. Then today, I was looking at the prices online and it looked like a 9B Ocean View was less than the Inside I had so I called Disney. I was able to upgrade my room and knock around $90 off the total.

10A's sold out yesterday ... but some people canceled (never funded) their reservation.

--I saw that as well. I e-mailed my T/A to ask why an Oceanview was less money ... especially since the O/V was mid-ship!?

As an aside, there does not appear to be as much difference in price from one end of the spectrum to the other. We can actually upgrade to mid-ship verandah for about $700.

There was less than $200 difference between the 5B & 5A, so we made the jump to deck 10.

We're waitlisted for a suite. Right now all the suites are blocked from bookings, but if they open up we should be near the top of the list.

I doubt any suites will open up. I don't believe they ever did for the Dream Maiden Voyage. I was put on the waitlist for that one within 15 mins of bookings opening up for Gold/Plat cruisers. I don't know why but I also waitlisted for this cruise too. I don't think it will happen but you never know.

There are already several catergories sold out, and since this is a no refund/transfer cruise I assume that means it will stay that way. I know a lot of people "dumby book" other cruises to hold a credit, etc, but this one is different, so I am thinking it may sell out before it even reaches the 1 year mark.

The timing works well for us, DS's spring break is that week (and so are a lot of other school systems), so I believe that will add to the popularity, as opposed to the Dream's which is in late January during school.

We are on the Dream in 2011 for Spring Break too, so lots and lots of fun and excitement coming our way!

The first few Dreams cruises had the suites blocked.... reserved for VIPs.

I got one for the first 4 day with open suites (Feb 27)

We are on the inaugural Fantasy Eastern cruise on April 21 and booked a suite.

Good Morning fellow Fantasy cruisers!!! :wave2: Thank you Steven and Donna for starting this thread :thumbsup2

We will be joining you all on this maiden vaoyage and are very excited  I am Terrie and will be traveling with DH, Wally :lovestruc We just sailed our very first DCL cruise last month on the DVC member cruise and are officially hooked!!! Booked the Dream while on board for May 15 and Already booked for next year's member cruise and decided to make it a B2B with a 3 day beforehand  At this rate we might need an intervention :rolleyes1 We have sailed Carnival and RCC and it was ok but nothing like our experience with DCL. I am sure getting to know people on the DIS and the camraderie that can be found on cruise meet threads really adds to the experience :grouphug:

If anyone wants to do a Fish Extender I will be happy to keep track of the group. If you wish to be in the FE group please send me an e-mail at FantasyMV@gmail.com
In the e-mail send me your stateroom number, Disboard name, first name of each person in the stateroom, realtionship to you (DH, DW, DD, DS, etc) ages and gender of children. For example here is mine:

stateroom: 7182
Disname: calypso726
First name: Terrie (DW)
Age: Kid at Heart

First name: Wally (DH)

Thank you to all for welcoming us for this wonderful adventure. I only got one of ages right for my daughters. Katie will be 16 at the time of the cruise and will be a junior in high school. Kelly will be 12 at the time of the cruise and will be in the 7th grade. When we went on a Disney Med Cruise in 2007, my oldest daughter used the Disboards to make friends with 10-12 girls of the same age before the cruise. They had so much more fun on the ship and during the long all day excursions by knowing each other in advance.

Please consider utilizing the original thread, in order to avoid confusion ... as two threads will be confusing.

Yes... Let Irish Cowboy know... We've all been posting on the original thread, before this one was set up. Hopefully we can just get one thread going. :wizard:

Okay gang....I'm finally checking in.....

Booked day 1 for platinums, but was still figuring out the situation with DD Jamie (18) who will be in her sophmore year of college during the maiden voyage. She doesn't finish finals until April 18, 2012, so she is out for the cruise.

Good news.......Elaine (Mickey&JoshNut) has agreed to cruise with me and we will be roomies
:cheer2::cheer2:

She already checked in, so I'm checking in for me and letting you know we are in 8502 and I am sure both Elaine and I will participate in the FE exchange (although we may have to change the name because the fish may now also be seahorses and/or seashells)!

Okay, since I have many cruises before this one, don't know how active I'll be until it gets closer.

But.........put me down for the "famous" mini-navigators and I'll figure out if there is a way we can fit in scrapbooking on this cruise since it is 7 days instead of the short 4 night for the MV of the Dream.

Can't wait to have another reunion with everyone.

Just booked today. We are Noel and John sailing without kids or GK's again in SR 6082.

Not sure if I know anyone here on the thread but I was very active on the last WBTA 2010 thread and we are sailing on the 2011 WBTA.

Is there a link to who is sailing and is there a theme or logo for the cruise yet? I saw a FE starting post so I will send our info.

My wife and I will also be on board for this cruise.

I'm Chris, my wife is Michelle. This will be our 7th Disney Cruise. We are also on the Feb. 27 Dream and the Aug 2 Wonder next year. We are in Stateroom 9672, Cat 6A Aft. We joined a group for a Western itin. back in 2003 but haven't gotten involved with any since then, so it may take me a little while to get back into the swing of things.

Everyone on here keeps saying what a crazy group of people we have here so he definetly would represent that lol. and someone mentioned spring he's a duck so thats springy lol. And we have the aqua duck on our Fantasy ship so maybe Donald on the aqua duck, water raft, or cruise ship? Just a couple thoughts :)

The MV sets sail only a few days after our daughter turns three, so we are taking her for her birthday. The following week is her spring break, so we're tacking on WDW after the cruise. I sent an email blast to our families when I got the news that bookings would open and we are ecstatic that six others will be joining us!

Welcome to everyone joining us! :goodvibes

You are very welcome!! There are also quite a few pictures on line to view, especially on FB.

I was thinking for a logo or theme something to do with Admiral Donald Duck.
Admiral Donald Duck Is the Dreams commanding officer. I dont think they have released who will be the commanding officer for the Fantasy yet. But I am sure it won't be Donald Duck

Greetings!
The MV sets sail only a few days after our daughter turns three, so we are taking her for her birthday. The following week is her spring break, so we're tacking on WDW after the cruise. I sent an email blast to our families when I got the news that bookings would open and we are ecstatic that six others will be joining us!

Greetings from a soggy wet Bermuda. Traveling with my mum who is a fantastic cruise companion. This will be our 2nd DCL and we're really looking forward to it.

I think my brother and SIL + kids have booked as well.

We've done a bow of a ship on NCL Sun and several other cruises with HAL, Celebrity - we decided to try out an aft cabin on deck 10 this time to see what it was like: 100166 I believe is the cabin number.

Very much looking forward to a great cruise on a fantastic ship! Never booked a cruise so far out before!

Welcome aboard!! We are John and Noel and this will be our 6th cruise.

We have a friend, Diane Kirwin who was born and raised in Bermuda but now lives here in Mt. Shasta, California. She finds it very difficult to be there in the winter because it snows there so she travels back to Bermuda and to other places in the world. We love to tease Diane as she has never been to the UK though she has traveled extensively in India and Asia. She and her family founded KIRF India (http://kirfindia.org/). Hers is the picture holding the child on the website. She is my DS Cheryl's MIL.

We don't have any time but we try do try to do trips instead of presents. I hated having a Dec birthday as I never had a birthday party growing up. We have 6 birthdays in November as well so it is a busy time of year for us. DD Samantha turns 25 on November 25 as does nephew's girlfriend. My aunt, DD's best friend Shasta and GD are all on the 15 and Dad was on the 22.

Well, we've been booked since they opened the booking windows for Gold but have just now ventured over to this thread!

We are Michael and Marc, to US expats now living in Mexico. We moved one of our onboard bookings from the WBTA to this cruise and couldn't be happier! We may even try to do something wacko like cruise on the Dream on the March 22, 2012, sailing (there's an unofficial DVC member reunion cruise group on that one), stay at WDW for 10 days, and then hop on the Fantasy from there! Let's see if the DVC points will hold up for that duration!!!

Hello Noel and John and all the other WBTA cruisers! Looking forward to seeing everyone in 2012!!

Just want to share what John and I did today. We drove up to Sausalito (http://www.sausalito.org/), got lunch to go at Sam's BFF's family store, Mollie Stones (http://www.molliestones.com/). Afterward we drove to Stinson Beach (http://stinsonbeachonline.com/) to eat our lunch. Once lunch was done, we went to Muir Woods (http://www.nps.gov/muwo/index.htm). All in all a sunny, wonderful day...with temps in the mid 70's. I hope to post some pics later.

Here are the promised pics from our trip across the Golden Gate bridge to Stinson Beach and Muir Woods:

Yesterday John had jury duty. He was not chosen to serve from the jury pool but he had an interesting day. Potential juror number two was Joan Baez (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_Baez) who also lives in Woodside. John says the attorneys question her extensively but she was not chosen, She spoke about her political views, ex husband David Harris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Harris_(protestor)) and son drummer Gabriel Harris which John found interesting. I remember when she used to date Steve Jobs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_jobs) who also lives in Woodside (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodside,_California).

I have been kicking around a few ideas for the name of the thread.

Here are:

1. First Carialantic Fantasy Adventure
2. The First Carialantic Fantasy Cruisers
3. Taking the first Fantasy in the Carialantic

Anybody have any thoughts?

I would like to come up with a few ideas so we could have a poll to vote on which name we like best. Once we have a name, I could ask ****** to help design a logo for us to post and for tee shirts, etc.

I agree with Jon, not silly at all. I think the reason we met so many people is that we toured with quite a few before the cruise in Barcelona. Plus we signed up for many activities. Every day, we called or had calls from DISers to do breakfast or lunch which we find is about the only way you can meet new or old DIS friends.

Hi everyone!

We just booked yesterday. This is our 5th cruise (4th for my DD) and first maiden voyage. We are very excited because April 7, 2012 will by my DD 9th birthday.

As of right now we don't have a room number. We booked through DVC and were told we'll probably get an upgrade (first for us!), but won't know for awhile. Who do we contact to participate with FE?

Thanks! Rosemary

Welcome aboard Rosemary and family!! We are Noel and John and this maiden voyage (first maiden for us as well) will be our 6th DCL cruise. How exciting to have a birthday aboard! We celebrated our 25th Anniversary on the WBTA in September 2010. Our stateroom had lots of gits and decorations which made coming into the stateroom even more fun!!

I am not sure if anyone is taking lists for the FE yet. However, if I am incorrect, I am sure someone will quickly correct me!!

Disname: W@LL-E
First name: Wally (DH)
Age: Kid at heart

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hope this helps anyone looking for the FE list Information.

Thanks! Rosemary

Hi Rosemary :wave2: and :welcome: aboard! My name is Terrie and I am coordinating the FE. I see you have the info from the previous posts from our other cruise buddies here for FE. Thank you Jennifer and Noel :goodvibes Once I receive your e-mail I will write back to confirm to you that I did get it.

Just got back this week from our Thanksgiving cruise to the Eastern Carribean! We gave in and booked the Sept 2011 transatlantic!:banana::banana:

I can't wait for all this cruising that's coming our way. The Fantasy seems so far away but it will be here before we know it :goodvibes

I just assumed it would be the same horn as the Dream because the Wonder and the Magic are the same. It would be fun if it were different though.

Hi Everyone,

Just found this thread and can't wait until this cruise! Forgive me if this has been asked already (as I have yet to read all replies on this thread), but does anyone know if the Fantasy maiden has sold out already?? Go to disneycruise.com, select April 2012, Carribbean, and April 7th itinerary is no longer listed! Some websites, however, such as Dreams Unlimited Travel, still advertise it. With the Dream maiden not sold out yet, I can't imagine the Fantasy maiden to be. Or could it? Any thoughts? Thanks!

SERIOUSLY?!?!? That is crazy! Do you know if they will offer discounts for those of us who stay with the 4/7. We can't switch because that is my son's spring break week. I will be very disappointed in Disney if that is true :)

Hi...just popping in to say I just saw that there were two threads....I have now merged the two meet threads together for this sailing.

I came over to see what the new date was for the MV since I read a post on the main board.

I can relate...we were booked on the MV of the Magic and the date was changed 3 times...first it was supposed to be March, then I think April and finally it was July. We had to change our flights 3 times, pre night hotel, dog sitters, etc., etc., etc.

Good luck. wonder why they changed it.

I guess they are receiving the ship earlier than planned so they are changing the MV to March 31st and yes anyone who stays on April 7th will go to a lower rate due to the fact it is now not the MV date. Sorry to hear you wont be joining us on the MV EcbLovesMickey.

Since this is a change that is not your fault I think you may be able to get your points back. You might want to check if you really want to cancel. I know this cruise is said to be cheaper now that it is no longer the maiden voyage, so you should recieve some points back.

Actually, Disney's official line is that the current 4/7/12 rates will stay the same for now and they have not decided whether or not to lower it for existing reservations. Quoted from my TA: "Disney is saying that since the April 7th sailing is no longer the inaugural cruise, guests may see a reduction in their fare, but that determination would not be made until a future date once all guests who wish to be moved to the March 31st sailing are moved."

The only reason we were willing to pull DD out of school, fly 2000 miles, and pay through the nose for this cruise was because it was the maiden voyage. Even *if* the price goes down, once we factor in flights I don't think it will go down enough. So we are going to cancel. We are looking at the MR cruise on 4/15/12 for DD's birthday since we wouldn't have to fly, but our family that was joining us on the Fantasy have no interest in that cruise so we'd be doing it alone. I am so sad right now. D:

We switched this morning. Staying with the Maiden Voyage. Just couldn't pass up what could be the last Disney maiden voyage for 10+ years.

BTW, DCL couldn't reach us by phone so they emailed and said I should call 866-325-6817 by 12/27 to let them know what we wanted to do. The number goes to a special voice mail box for the Maiden Voyage change. If others have not heard from DCL, you could try that number.

We are disappointed that they moved the maiden voyage-we are on spring break the week of April 7th so we kept our reservation. The price reduction was $846. I guess I hoped it might be more but it still is Easter week. At least we are still sailing the western itinerary.

Returned on Christmas Eve from a wonderful one week stay at WDW. Checking the Disboards and finding out about this switch. We booked the MV because is coincided with our children's Spring Break. This is a major disappointment that Disney is doing this.:headache::sad2::mad:

We were only discounted $ 294 per cabin for our two (Cat 9A) cabins. We decided to cancel so we could get our non-refundable deposit back since it was Disney's doing at this time. We may rebook this Fantasy cruise while we are on our Disney Dream cruise so we get the onboard discount and then our deposits would be refundable again like a normal cruise.

Good luck and have a great cruise in April 2012!

Only people who move to the 3/31/12 cruise still have non-refundable deposits. Everyone who stays on the 4/7/12 cruise will have their reservations turn into standard ones that are refundable and transferable up to PIF date.

I hope you got that refundable part in writing. :rolleyes1 I asked how quickly I had to make the change in date decision and they said by Thursday, Dec 30th. I said I am not changing to the March date. I said what is the deadline to get my deposit back if I decide to cancel the April 7th cruise and she told me Thursday.

Your comment sounds reasonable but that was not the answer I got so I went the safer route. Disney's trustworthiness is at an all-time low with me and I am even going on the Disney Dream Maiden voyage in less than a month.

I had my TA check again, just to make sure. She spoke to two different CMs, one of whom is in charge of the team handling the change for all passengers with existing reservations, and both confirmed that by staying on the 4/7/12 cruise the reservation will convert to Disney's standard cancellation/transfer policy. She also had them add a notation to our reservation that we confirmed this before tomorrow's moving deadline.

We also canceled outright. Between the crummy way Disney did this (and just before Christmas too) and the fact that the discount they offered us to stay on the cruise was not enough to make it rack rate of the same cruise the following week, we decided just to get the money back and decide later what do.

My family is booked on this cruise! I am so excited! I didn't want to book it when it was the MV because it was too far out for me to commit a large deposit and not have the flexibility to cancel if we had to...sure hope that we don't have to! This is our spring break week and I was so excited when it was no longer the MV week.

We've been looking at pictures of the Dream and just cannot wait to be on its sister ship for 7 wonderful nights in only 450 days! LOL!

Hi there! I checked out the other thread but that looks like it's for the new inaugural sailing. Are the folks posting here moving to that cruise date or keeping the April 7th date? We are definitely booked for April 7th. I know I am in the minority, but I was kind of glad that the inaugural sailing got moved. I was hesitant to book spring break of 2012 when this particular week was that sailing because of the "no refund" policy on deposits. I really have a hard time being able to fully commit to something this far out, so now I don't have that stress. I am getting very excited about the new ship after hearing so much about the Dream and seeing all the pictures. Just think the Fantasy will be just as new and wonderful when we sail it next spring. Hooray!

When we originally booked this cruise our deposit was non-refundable because it was the maiden voyage. I assume my deposit is now refundable but I am not certain and I have tried to call DCL but the wait times are super long.

We are going on the Dream next week - totally last minute- and I would like to see if I can cancel and get my money back and rebook on-board to take advantage of the 10% discount and credit. It would save me some $$$ if it worked out.

Thanks in advance if you have any advice for me.:thumbsup2

When they asked us to move to the March 31st for the MV -- we could not move due to Spring Break so I asked that same question, would our non-refundable deposit be refundable for the April 7th cruise? I did not get clear cut answer so we cancelled to get our refund back. I believe other passengers posted earlier in this thread that they were told that the April 7th
cruise would be treated like a regular cruise so the deposit was refundable.

We were on the MV for the Dream and we re-booked the April 7th Fantasy cruise. We did not take our children DD15 & DD11 so we wanted to share the Fantasy voyage with them. We kind of feel guilty.

The Dream was fantastic and we were told the Fantasy would be even nicer.

Don't cancel the trip, just take your current reservation on board and get them to re-process it for you. They will apply the 10% discount to whatever the current rate is for the category you booked and you will also get the $200 OBC. The only thing that you might want to think about is that onboard bookings only require a 10% deposit versus a 20% deposit, or whatever you may have been required to put down when it was the MV. I have had partial deposits refunded to me before when I've moved my date to a less expensive cruise and didn't want to tie up all my deposit money, so that may be an option if you wanted to try that. Otherwise, you could look at it as more paid toward the cruise or you could also just rebook entirely on the cruise and then cancel the reservation you are holding now. Just some thoughts on how to go about it...

I saw a post by you on the upgrade prices on the Dream MV. Lucky you that you got to go on that cruise!!! What did you hear that would be nicer on the Fantasy?

My family was booked on the Dream for spring break of this year but we cancelled it to go on the 11-night holiday cruise on the Magic over Christmas. So we booked this cruise instead and I cannot wait! The only concern I have is about the increase in passengers and having to wait in more lines...how was that on the Dream?

I heard/read that the MV of the Dream was not a full ship. I don't know what lines people are complaining about. Cabanas is so much bigger than Topsiders. The other fast food stations by the pool had no lines. The restaurants are big and beautiful. The shops had lines before they opened up for the special maiden voyage clothing on the first night and then the Dooney & Bourke purses on the second night. This would not be a problem for other cruisers. We had the late seating at 8:30 and there were always a couple of hundred people waiting to go in when they opened the doors. There main lobby was full of people waiting to get off the ship for disembarkation at 8 am. Took one minute to get off ship, found my bags right away and proceeded through customs with no wait or problems.

We had a fabulous cruise and we can't wait for the Fantasy because it will be a 1 week cruise instead of 4 nights. There was nothing specific that they mentioned about the Fantasy except it will be better. I guess doing something the 2nd time they will have improvements and upgrades that they could not incorporate into the Dream.

Hello, my name is John and my family and I will be sailing on the Fantasy on April 7th. We are Gold Castaway members and we will be in Cabin 8504.
Our family crew includes John (45), DW Alison (46), DD Katie (16), DD Kelly (12). Our daughters are looking forward to a Disney cruise since they have been deprived for 5 years.

No, you won't be the only one on board! We'll be there too! :cool1:

I haven't been on the DISboards much lately. I figure that if I get on too often I'll see some great deal I can't pass up and then before you know it I'll be scheming another cruise before this one! (it's happened before...) Not that I wouldn't like that, but we need to do some things around the house right now so I am trying to minimize my DCL distractions - LOL.

My friend and her family are going on the Dream over spring break and I'll be excited to hear how she likes it. Actually, one of my friends is going on the 3 day spring break cruise and then another friend will be going on the 4 day, so I should be able to get a lot of good info from them. I know the Fantasy may be a little different but I'm thinking I'll still be able to get the gist of things from their reviews.

Are you cruising before this spring break 2011 trip?

There will be me (Nikki) and my 2 lovely boys, Jackson (will be 8) and Ethan (will be 4). Also coming are my mum and dad - and possiby my Grandad (Depending on his health). Me and the boys and mum went on the Med cruise last year but my dad hasn't been - so so excited

We were on the MV of the Dream so we do not have another cruise scheduled until this cruise. My wife and I went on the Dream for our 20th anniversary so our girls are very excited to be going on the Fantasy.

Welcome aboard to the other new families

Does DCL offer any kind of reception for DIS board members or anything? I like how RCCL has a cruise critic event thats gives out free drinks and ives everyone a chance to meet who talks on the boards.

Welcome to all joining the thread!

I think the only kind of reception DCL hosts is for certain levels of Castaway Club members. I can't remember if it's for Gold and Platinum status or just Platinum. We are Silver level so we have not been included on the guest list! :sad2: Anyhow, maybe someone else who knows can comment on that.

In terms of what an FE is, it stands for Fish Extender. Outside your cabin door there is a metal fish-shaped peg or hook and many cruisers will hang an organizer type thing with pockets for each family member. People in the DISgroup will buy little trinkets for others who decide to particpate and throughout the cruise deliver those small gifts to everyone in the group. I'm not sure if my explanation is all that great, but there is another explanation for it on the FAQ thread anchored at the top of the main DCL thread page. We participated in the FE exchange on our 11-night cruise this past Christmas and had a ball! There were about 65 families participating so it took a long time (close to 2 hours) to deliver everything and that was on the Magic! I cannot imagine how long it will take to do it on the Dream or Fantasy with it being so much bigger! We got things from candy to CD's to handmade Christmas ornaments, bookmarks, etc. I felt like I had to buy very little DCL souvenirs because we had some of the most creative and elaborate ones given to us in our FE!

We were supposed to be on the Dream this spring break but decided to switch it so we could go on the 11-night cruise over Christmas. We didn't figure we'd have too many opportunities with work situations, etc., to take that long of a cruise again for awhile, so that's what made us decide. Plus, we had friends from a previous cruise going who have girls near my DD's age, so that was the final nudge to commit. We had a great time! (But I am a little sad as spring break approaches that we aren't going on that one too...):sad1: I hope you will share lots of things you learned about the Dream on this thread so that us "newbies" to the new ships will have a little heads up before boarding her sister ship!

I will be happy to share but I don't want to ruin any surprises. The 4 night cruise is too short -- we felt like we only got half way thru the Dream. Looking forward to 1 week on the Fantasy

We enjoyed watching the pictures of the Dream being built. We only looked at exterior pictures and avoided all interior pictures. We watched the Christening on you-tube but avoided all the Good Morning America features. I can only imagine that the Fantasy will be more splendid.

Hi Everyone!
We are booked on the April 7th sailing of the Fantasy! I can hardly believe it! My children have no idea and we are planning to surprise them for Christmas. This will be our third DCL cruise and we will be celebrating my oldest DD's graduation. Our DBFF's just booked this cruise today, as well!! Traveling with me will be my DH, DD (18), DD (15), DD (12) and DD (7)....(ages are at the time of sailing)....My DBFF and her DH have DS (16), DS (13), DD (10), and DD (7). They have never been on a Disney cruise before, so I am so excited for them. We sailed on the Wonder for a 3-day (land and sea package) back in 2001 and did the Eastern cruise on the Magic for spring break in April 2009. (Itutorfortravel, I think you and your family were on that cruise. We met briefly in the terminal before we boarded!)

I had no idea that the April 7th sailing was originally the MV for the Fantasy. I would have been so disappointed if we were not able to book as this is what my DD wanted to do for her last high school spring break!!

It has been a long while since I've posted anything. I was a bit depressed after our last cruise!

Welcome aboard -- Itutorfortravel and I were all alone on this cruise for the longest time. I have a DD(16) and DD(12) (age at cruise time) so they will match up well with your family for the teen or tween clubs. We were originally booked on this cruise for the Maiden Voyage and then Disney changed the dates right after Christmas so we cancelled so we could get our non-refundable deposits back. We went on the Dream Maiden Voyage and re-booked the cruise:cool1: since it was our daughter's spring break week.

Are we there yet?

We just booked this cruise a few weeks ago! We were on the Magic on March 5 and booked onboard for a late April 2012 trip on the Fantasy. I had no clue when our spring break was going to be and I thought spring breaks were a lot more expensive. When we got home I had our TA price out the difference and it wasn't too bad (a few years ago it was like $2500 more - weird). So now we are sailing over Spring Break!

Me, DW, DS(9) and DD(7) at time of sailing. It'll be our 3rd Disney cruise. Previous two were on the Magic. Looking forward to seeing the new ship.

(They'll have the kinks worked out after that first week right? HA!)

374 days to go, right?

Welcome aboard sunburnin! You live in my neck of the woods...we're also in the Charlotte area (Union County).

I've got a Disney countdown on my Droid phone...it's so cute, a little Mickey head with the days till our cruise. I remember when it was up around 450 days...I can't believe that in a couple weeks we'll be able to say our cruise is less than a year away.

I have two friends who are sailing on the Dream over spring break. I'm SO jealous! We were supposed to be on that trip & now I wish we had not cancelled it. However I may not have been able to talk DH into the Fantasy cruise if we had done the Dream this year, and I'd rather have the 3 extra days!
