Thought it might be fun to see how others in our diverse country live, work and play. How do you spend your day? Where do you live? Show us your small towns, large cities, farms, place of work, school activities, etc.
We live in "small town USA" located west of Houston in farming/ranching country. Our county fair is held every October and the entire county joins in the fun.

The US Flag and the Texas flag fly proudly over the entrance to the fairgrounds.

A parade through our town signals the official opening. This year the Bellville Heritage Cowgirls served as parade marshals.

Our elected county officals (hubby is on the other side of the float!) take the day off from business to ride a float in the parade. The theme this year was to have your float represent a country western song. They all joked that their song should be, "Take This Job and Shove It"!

This is one of my favorites this year ... The Beverly Hillbillies:

DGD rode the Chamber of Commerce float as winner of Little Miss Mistletoe last Christmas:

Youngest DGD was on her pre-school float:

Cars park in every available spot:

Entering fairgrounds after parade ... dress is western but notice young ladies in long white dresses (they were parade participants):
