Here is the thread Disney Rider suggested. Those of us who are up to the wee small hours cropping & making swap items can chat on this thread instead of bogging down the other ones :) Hope to chat with some of you tonight :flower3:

Here's a thought...I really love to have someone to talk to and ask opinions from when I am scrapping / cropping. What if we did...say once a month...an on-line crop. We could set it up for a Friday night or Saturday afternoon / night and even possibly hold sign-ups. Anyone interested could come onto the thread during the crop, get in the conversation, ask opinions, or whatever all while sitting at home and working!!! I don't know about everyone else, but it would be awesome for me! I know I am more likely to actually get myself to do it if I have the "push" of a designated time frame and in a "group" environment. (Even if it is a virtual group!! :lmao:) I don't know if it is something that would need a hostess or not?? Maybe one of the mod's will read this and weigh in?? Anyway, just a thought...I have seen them other places and thought it may be fun!

I love this idea! I usually ask DH questions about my work/pages...poor guy is usually relaxing playing Xbox when I am bugging him haha.
I am so glad I was nosey on my lunch break and opened this thread (I am usually passed out by 9:30 eastern time...I know, ridiculous. All my co-workers tell me that will change when we have kids- so I'm gonna enjoy it while I can :coffee:

I'm thinking if we do this on a weekend...maybe some that are usually in bed earlier than others may stay up later and be able to "hang out" more. Obviously, those that wanted to participate could join the virtual crop later (since we have possible interest from all different time zones). And, when you have had enough or are just too tired to go on...just say good bye and log off!! I just think it would be fun to have an appointed time to be able to chat and help each other out. And, since only some of us are close to each other, it seems logical! (To me anyway!) :thumbsup2 I know if I said to my DH I have a crop on Saturday from 7 pm until 1 am...here at the house on the computer, but I will not be available to anyone...just like it would be if I were at a crop somewhere else...he'd say ok, shake his head and go on with his day. But, what it will do for me is make me come, sit down and WORK!!!!! I love doing the swaps and make the time for them. But, what I don't do is make time to scrap...for myself!! I seem to find time to scrap for others. So, it's time to do it for me and I need that lead!! LOL

Erin--that's a great idea!!! I would love to do this. DH & MDD are tired of giving me their opinion and I would love some feedback and a dedicated time to work on my pages not swap stuff :rotfl2:

If you wanted to do that on the boards I know they have chat sessions and we could have a chat session (I don't know how it works but I can ask on the mod board). You other choice might be setting up a yahoo group or something like that- I mean you could use a thread on the board but a chat set-up may work better.
Let me ask about how chatting works and I will get back to you when I get answers (but it may be tomorrow since I am going to meet my Sis for dinner out of town tonight).

Rebecca I'm not sure if we can post pictures on the chat thread though.
We could do it here, but I'd rather have it in the scrap forum instead of the swap forum, more traffic.

Either way would be good...do you think it is a good idea?? Do you think it would work and / or generate interest?

Yeah, I think it would be a blast.
I'm a midnight mom but we could do it from 6 -1 or 7 -1 so people can come and go.
We just need to pick a date. Maybe do a poll on the scrap board and here to see what day of the week works for most.
do you want to set up the poll or should I?
We should wait to see what the webmasters say about where we should post, here or the chat.
Sometimes the chat doesn't work so Rebecca and I are trying to figure the details out.

Very cool!!! It doesn't matter to me who sets it up...I just think the motivation would be great...plus the conversation would be fun!! So, when we hear what's what, let's do a poll on both sides and invite everyone and see what works best for people. We can do a sign-up and hopefully keep it up...maybe once a month. Would you want to do a different "host" like the layout challenge every month to sort-of have the responsibility of setting the dates up and whatever? I am excited!!!!

Hey girls!!!! Weren't you the chatty bunch last night??!! Well, I missed out...went to bed at 12:30...but that was 10:30 / 9:30 for you guys. I think this little section...whether it is here or the chat board or whatever will work out nicely!
Lisa - I can't wait to see the Santa set! It does sound tedious, but the picture in my mind is amazing!
Surina - wish I lived by you to come buy all your scrappy stuff!!! LOL You actually just got off here not long ago!!
Cheryl - hope you got some sleep!
Anyway, up with the kiddos...the oldest left about 25 minutes ago and the middle leaves in about 20...then the little guy an hour after. Then, it's swaparama for the day! I have cleaned and run and played and done all of my mom things the past couple of days...today (at least while they are at school) is all MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! :woohoo:

Yeah im still up. I think I had to much coffee and Dr.Pepper.
Maybe a hot shower will help.....
I hope this thread stays here I love my Swap friends I feel we are way more social than other parts of the boards. I've tried talking on the scrapbooking boards and Ive never felt the same level of Board love as I do here. I never feel ignored over here. The people that DO talk to me on the other board are 99.9% people that are on this board as well.
But thats my 2cents :)

Surina, I looked at the CKC conv schedule...the one in AZ is the weekend after we get back from WDW, so I don't think that would work....will look at Megan's school schedule, give my other AZ friend a call and try to figure out a long weekend we could come down, with your being so close to my friend we will definately have to get together! But, all three of my kids do and have their own Disney mugs (the big kind) and drink every weekend with my husband! Nope - give me my Twinings Irish Breakfast tea about 4 - 5 times a day and I'm good to go!! Anyway, my 6 year old has been drinking it for about 2 years...his growth hasn't been stunted yet!!! LOL I know that is an old wive's tale that they say about kids and coffee!! Anyway, cute picture!! Hope you can get yourself back on schedule with sleep!

Yay!!! A fellow tea gal! I also like the English Breakfast!! I go back and forth between the Irish and English. Both are great...but I am a bit of a tea snob and really only like to drink Twinings!! Disney actually got me started on that because that's what they give you at their breakfasts and I was hooked! A bit expensive, but the flavor is the best!!

I take mine with 1/2 & 1/2 and sugar. It really is my downfall!! When I am dieting (which I should be doing right now)...I switch to pom green tea. I like it, but really miss my regular tea then!! But, I have to make myself give it up because the cream and sugar are TOOOOOOO many calories!! So, when I am not dieting, I take advantage!!

Funny - the only thing (kinda like coffee) I will drink is a White Chocolate Mocha with 3 shots of espresso from SEATTLE'S BEST!!!!! I know...not really Seattle, but as close as this girl's gonna get!! :rotfl2: They add so much whipped cream and syrup that you can't taste the coffee taste anymore!! I actually had one earlier today when I ran to Borders to pick up my new Pagemaps 2 book!! I am going to curl up with it when all the kids are in bed...in about a half an hour. And, I'll have a cup of tea as I look through deciding what I am interested in...then, it's back to swapping. I have lots of plans for the night still!!! It's already 8:30 here, so I need maybe 2 cups of tea to get me through!! Wow - what a ramble!!! Anyway, I'm hoping that a couple of you are up and on here to help me through!! I plan on being up and working until 1ish...so 10 or 11 depending on where you are. (I guess 10 for Lisa and 11 for Cheryl??) And, Surina - she may be sleeping until Friday since she couldn't fall asleep last night! Poor girl!! Hope you got there at some point! If you are up tonight, though...join the party! See - the espresso...you can tell that I am not used to all the caffeine...blah blah blah!!!!

We are still waiting to hear if we should use the chat feature or just a thread- the biggest thing with a thread when a number of people are on it is the posts can get somewhat confusing if you say much in them.
I have done some online crops/scrapbooking parties before including some games on a yahoo group and it was lots of fun.

While we are waiting to see the best format- what kind of things would you like to do? I have done web scavenger hunts, timed challenges(the challenge starter gives you a list of about 10 different kinds of things to have on hand and then post exactly what you need as the challenge starts), bingo games- using words instead of numbers, or I am open to other ideas.

Or
Grande solo non fat caramel macchiato from Starbucks, with loads of sugar.
Rebecca

YES YES AND YES!!!!! I will try to come up with some other ones too if I can, but those all sound awesome to me!! Should we come up with a way to do prizes? This may be a great stress reliever during the hustle and bustle in the holiday season!!! (If we can get enough people to set aside the time!!)
can't do prizes. Against DIS policy.
Or prize is bumping up our page count for the month!!!!
scrapvillage has a virtual scrapbook crop, if someone wants to pour over their multitude of pages.
it did look like they posted their challenge topics ahead of time though

yeah, didn't she say something about wearing modest attire while on the show. I do believe I caught a glimpse of a pretty skimpy outfit. I don't know, I don't watch. Bad ballroom is just so painful to watch.

much better, thanks!
She got her cast off Sept 22 but has to wear a brace when doing activities for 3 - 6 months. She hates the thing but will wear it at school. The type of break it was has a 5% chance of rebreak with the first 6 months, hence the brace. It has metal bars in to to stabilize the arm and wrist.

Didn't care for Long beach, we high tailed it to LAX to get on the plane.
my one and only trip to DLR was the 25th anniversary. My dad's Coast Guard band was playing in the parade. Of course there is only 1 pic of me and my brother from DL and the stupid river boat was in focus not us, I know where my dad's priorities were. all the other pics were of the band.

We specifically plan to be there on Christmas, the 3 Disney trips we've taken as a family have been the week before through the day after Christmas. That way we don't have to deal with extended family drama. Both sets of parents live within 30 minutes and my mom can't get along with DH's mom, it's hard to be 2 places at once :confused3 So we started going away for the holidays so we can have family time (just the 4 of us).

Heck yeah its better than MK I agree but I'm waaaay Biased I'm a born and bred OC girl and lived behind DLH for a good 10 years of my life. my friends and I used to get our most touristy stuff on and sneak into the DLH hotel pool all the time. I got my first season pass when I was 7-8 and we would go hang out in DL after school. Ahhh the good ol days. Doing homework in Tomorrowland. but to this day I hate and am soooo bored with fireworks. Every night during the summer for most of my life... Uggghhhh I hate them now. I leave DD with Gma and go shopping or use that time as a great time for a Me only bathroom break. ahhhhh the stall to myself.
BTW there are tons of Dairy farms here in AZ and here in the Valley when I lived in Gilbert you could smell them.
Cows smell doesnt bother me but Chickens now thats a different story!!!

That was it, we left the morning the storm was forcast for FL, it "chased" us all the way down to the VA/NC border where we finally hit rain, Jim was afraid to stop and get stuck, I know the Delaware river got so frozen with all the ice dams, happy I was in warm and sunny FL!
Being w/o power is the worst, we lost power in Charlotte NC I think the same year you did, the transformer blew for our apt complex, so we had to move to a hotel since we had no fireplace.
I can imagine being that close to DL would take away some of the magic of the fireworks. But how lucky to be able to go when ever you want!!

Night Buffy, sleep well!
I love xmas in disney, we went once at thanksgiving and once the first part of dec, our dream is to some day be there on xmas....problem is my family would freak that we aren't home for the holidays...they aren't dis freaks like us
We specifically plan to be there on Christmas, the 3 Disney trips we've taken as a family have been the week before through the day after Christmas. That way we don't have to deal with extended family drama. Both sets of parents live within 30 minutes and my mom can't get along with DH's mom, it's hard to be 2 places at once :confused3 So we started going away for the holidays so we can have family time (just the 4 of us).
We typically go Dec 18 to 28, give or take a day.
I love being there at Xmas. I'm sad we aren't going there this year but I have got to get some bills paid off first! LOL
Next year we are going for sure. My god daughters want to go with us and they've never been.

so I petered out on you guys last night.
We were exhausted from the big meet yesterday. The boys came in, did homework and went to bed without any fuss so I know they were beat!
Then DH came home, there was a huge, accident on 95 last night so he was about 3 hours late getting home. The whole highway was closed and they blocked all the exit ramps to keep traffic from taking back roads. Poor guy was on fumes before he could break away to get gas.
I decided to turn in early and read, I'm trying to finish my book at it's taken me weeks to get through it when I can usually pop one off in about 2 days.
I'll probably be around tonight. DH is home so he can have some kid duty for a change.
Oh and Rebecca and I haven' heard back from the web masters so I guess our best bet for now is to just start a thread in the scrap forum.
We should post a poll as to which day would be the best and what weekend to choose.

I'm here but I'm not staying. I'm skyping DH then headed to bed. I'm trying to shake a cold but the migraines won't stop. they go from a constant dull ache to full blown. Figures as much, I'm either sick or we have crappy weather on my birthday. It looks like sick wins this year. :headache:
Awww Buffers I feel you!!! I hate my Migraines. I'm still waiting for my DH to get his Laptop so we can start skyping.
I was so sick from last Monday til this sunday I felt like I was gonna die. I knew it was from the memorial ride and then standing outside at the memorial at my friends moms house I think I caught a chill and it got in me.
I hope you have a Happy Birthday though maybe a bottle of wine and cold meds will help a little :thumbsup2

DH comes home tomorrow so I'm hoping he'll pamper me. I doubt it but one can wish right?!?! LOL
Head is a little better tonight but now I've started coughing again. I'm like on the verge of sick which I think is worse then actually being sick. I feel just bad enough to be blech, but not enough to stay in bed.
We have a memorial rally with the mini's Dec 12 but thankfully it's in cars not bikes. I hope we can go. It's the same day as my fathers family party. And every time we go it snows. If it snows DH won't take the mini because MA puts way to much salt on the road. I hope we can get to both though. we missed the funeral because DH was in DC and we haven't been to the family party in a few years because we've been headed to WDW.

Sorry to hear your not feeling well Buffy, hope you can get some good sleep tonight and are better in the morning!
I get migrains too, they suck BIG time....I found using ice packs really help me, one at the base of my neck and one where ever the pain is.
