Just when the last warm days are bidding us farewall and all the bugs go do...well...whatever it is they do for the winter, I found this little guy enjoying the cider cups in the trash can at a local orchard.

His fun times sadly came to a grim end when he decided that buzzing around the can wasn't fun anymore and moved on to annoying the resident barn cat instead. :scared:

I am sad to report that right after this photo was taken, the bee was promptly swatted from the air and killed. Figures!

And...so it is, the circle of life! Hopefully his last few minutes were enjoyable!

I wonder if the last words he buzzed would translate to: "I'm a yellow jacket, not a bumble beeeeeeeeeeee!"

:rotfl: I know it's not a bumble-bee...but it just sounded better.

Hallmark regularly runs photo contests and winners are featured on a line of greeting cards. The theme changes every couple of weeks (right now, it's vintage) but if you can come up with an intersting caption, I think you could be a winner. :) There's the link the the hallmark website.

That looks like so much fun! I kind of wish the contest I'd enter it in was now because chances are, after months of seeing contests that this wouldn't be applicable for pass by, I'll end up forgetting about it. I never even thought of submitting it for something like that, but hey, $250 is $250 and the cat wouldn't even need to sign a model release! :thumbsup2
