Late check out?

Hi everyone,
We just got back from DW a few hours ago, another great trip! I'm working on some plans for our November trip. It would make things more convenient for us if we could get a late check out, around 5:00. I'll ask them but I was wondering if any of you have done this at a Disney resort.
I have to delete one of my countdown timers (?) and I also see that I really should make plans for an October weekend at DW! http://www.fadzter.com/smilies/flower.gif

My understanding is that you can ask if a late checkout of 1pm is avaiable and if it is there is no additional charge. This is very hit or miss though and only a limited number of rooms are allowed to have a late checkout on a given day. Sometimes that number is zero if the resort is full.

It is my understanding that anything later then 1pm you would be charged for and again it would be based on resort avaiability.

we have requested and got late checkout every time we have been. 1:00 is the latest you can get without being charged for another day. But I do have to say it was probably 1:30 by the time we left last month. We were taking out suitcases out about 12:45 to pack up the car and the housekeeper was just going into the room next to ours, she told us not to rush it would probably be about another 45 minutes befroe she would get to our room.

We have stayed as late as 4:00 at non-Disney resorts but I realize its rather unreasonable to expect that.

We have only requested late check out twice and we were allowed to do it once.

We paid 1/2 nights rate to get checkout extended to 3PM once. DH was Deathly ill (and I explained this to Guest Services) Don't know if they'd let you do that just "because"

It looks like you are staying at the BCV. This is a DVC resort and there is no late check out for DVC. Sorry. Check out is 11 AM. But they will store your luggage for you until you have to leave. We were there in July and our plane didn't leave until 7 PM. We checked our luggage and went to the parks. Later on, we got our luggage back and went swimming until about 4:30. Then we got cleaned up, packed the wet things and got our ride at 5.
