Happy happy halloweeeeeen trip report Day 4 added

As per usual there is me, my mam and my dd ashleigh who is 3.

Where

We stayed at the Santa Fe and i am happy to report everything went smoothly at the hotel

When

October 3rd - 9th, right at the start of the halloween season

Day one - Sunday October 3rd


We wake up at seven and thank god for once i was totally packed and ready to go. I didnt even go through my case, i thought if i start going through it now i will only start shoving in more stuff i probably dont need. Ashleigh couldn wait to get going and stood with her suitcase for nearly an hour asking can we go now over and over lol

Finally at half nine we set off for the airport and had some breakfast up there. Everything went fine with the journey and we were collected at the other side by ezy shuttle. I cant compliment them enough, they are a great service.

I had only booked me and ashleigh into the room as my mam was going to get an ap. I mentioned this at check in and the guy forgot about it. I reminded him again as i wanted to pay the local taxes. He said to go to the other desk as they cant take money at check in only reception. There was a bit of a queue so we went and sorted out the room first. I got the block i requested so only a short walk and we were there. I was pleased to see the new cars bedspread but mostly because as they are new i know they are clean lol. We also had a new tv with our name on the screen. Ash got quickly changed and we were ready to head off

Oh and i didnt tell her to stand like that, she just does that as she is convinced she really is a princess lol

Back at reception it took quite a while for the cm to sort out paying the local taxes. In the end it was 99 cent a night. This did not include breakfast. That was 4 euros per night. I decided not to pay that as we rarely all make it to breakfast. As it turned out me and ash went to salon mickey each day and my mam went to breakfast.

Next up was getting my mams ap. Seeing as it was mid afternoon by now all the ticket desks were closed so we had to go to guest relations and enter another queue.

As we enter main st i cant help but notice this is the only halloween decoration up

Next up you guessed it a huge queue at the ap office. Ash could see the showtime spectacular and was mad to go over but she was pretty good at waiting once i told her she could pick out our first ride.

Of course she picked its a small world. You would think if they are closing off the post show bit they would put something more than a couple of benches to block the way.

Next it was time for the parade. Mickey and co weren't wearing their halloween costumes but it was good to see jack and sally and all the pumpkin men in the halloween bit.

After the parade we did a run around of the fantasyland rides and then headed to frontierland to see some halloween decorations. We saw jack was out but ash wasnt ready to meet him yet lol

We tried to get something to eat but most places were closed. We then went to caseys only to be told they no longer do any meals, not even for kids. You have to order each item separate so they dont really offer anything for small kids unless you want to half a hog dog between two. We ended up in the hyperion. Ash was happy to sit and watch the cartoons and it was nice to relax for a while.

Back in fantasyland ash tried to pull the sword out of the stone

Then it was time for the showtime spectacular. I have to say we really loved this show. Its a lot of fun. If you want to actually watch it you are better off standing back but ash wanted to be in on the action so we were standing close to the stage.

She kept asking when could she meet stitch and angel and i was explaining to her that it was a show and she couldnt meet the characters she could only watch it when who comes running over only lilo stitch and angel. Ash was over the moon lol.

So this was when the friendship began lol. She also met jesse but she just kept telling her oh wow i met stitch and angel lol

After that it was back to the hotel. We had planned on going to annettes but we were all much too tired.

when i mentioned it the cm was like oh yeah when i asked again to pay the taxes he sent me to the other side of reception. then that guy didnt really know what i wanted and it took quite a while to sort it out.

did you get another printed out easypass for her? i got that for my mam once i paid the taxes. to be honest i dont see how we couldnt all have gone for breakfast as there was nothing marked on the breakfast passes.

Day 2 - Monday October 4th

ok just a little warning i have a feeling this trip report is going to get picture heavy. i ended up taking over 2000 pictures lol.

So at 6.45 my alarm went off and i jumped out of bed and got ready. I then had the great job of trying to wake ash. Once i mentioned we could meet up with my friend and her daughter she was up like a shot. I gave my mam the breakfast card and arranged to meet her later. Me and ash just cant eat first thing so we decided that salon mickey would be better for us a little later.

First item of the day was for ash to get a pic with donald at the santa fe. We actually missed quite a few of these greets as ash just wanted to head to the park.

We got to the park right before eight and did a round of the fantasyland rides.

Then we went to explore upstairs in the castle. It really is lovely and i noticed the snoring knight for the first time.

It was around half nine at this stage and my mam rang to meet up. There were some pumpkin people out on main st so ash got some autographs (she filled two books this trip)

Next up was a trip to salon mickey. I am glad to see you can now get fruit. Ash was so happy to see an apple lol. She did still eat her cookie though

We went back to the park and caught the character express or whatever they are calling it this year. Ash really doesnt like the pushing and shoving for the characters so i let it up to her if she wants to meet someone or not. She wanted to meet minnie in her halloween dress and we were lucky that minnie picked her out straight away

Next up we went back to fantasyland where i seemed to spend most of my trip. There were disney characters advertised on the schedule but to be honest i only saw the same one or two out during the week. In any case ash met chip and dale

After a go on iasw and buzz it was time to start heading up main street for the meet and greets. As we walked past the pooh one i noticed the queue was really short so we joined that.

Next up we went to join the mickey one and the queue here was much longer. Next i see tiana and naveen walking around the place. I convinced ash to leave the mickey queue in hopes of a quick pic with tiana. By the time we ran over they were mobbed and ash had no intentions of getting squashed. The mickey queue was suddenly after getting even longer so we decided to just join the tiana queued line as there was only two people in front of us.

We waited ten maybe fifteen minutes and it was our turn. Suddenly ash jumped up in my arms saying she didnt want to go up. I asked her what was wrong and she thought that dr facillier would jump out and get her. So she asked me to lift her up to tiana and ask her if dr facillier was with her. Tiana and Naveen were so nice to ash and explained that dr facillier was nowhere around and Naveen had sorted him out. After ash had a big conversation with them both we got a few pics

NEXT UP WALT DISNEY STUDIOS

After meeting Tiana we decided to go to the studios. It was great to finally see studio one without the scaffolding.

At half twelve the stars n cars characters came out so again ash got some move autographs and pics. today was our most character heavy day

I notice this week a lot of the characters were asking kids do you know my story. Ash has never been asked that before. Its a bit awkward as most of the kids dont know how to answer. Ash told mulan she knew her story and mulan asked her what was the best part. Ash thought for a moment and then said when its over lol. I asked her why was that and she said thats when i have seen it all.

This Snow White puts on the full snow white voice which was really hilarious the first time i heard it lol

Mary poppins and bert were really nice and tried to teach ash to walk like a penguin.

Next up was our first visit to toy story playland. I know there are a lot of bad reviews of this but for me its a fun area and it is what it is. It never promised to be an e ticket, its carnival rides with a good theme. Today we just tried slinky dog which was a huge hit wih ash. The only downside was it ended quite quickly.

We were all starving at this stage so we decided to go to annettes for lunch. We had skipped out on it last night as after eating counter service we were not hungry enough. Me and my mam had soup and then shared a doughnut ice cream dessert. Ash had a kids meal with hot dog and ice cream. It was good value for money and a nice change from burgers for me

Heading back into the main park we had a look around the shops. There is a lot of christmas stuff out. Much more than halloween.

We met up with my friend and her dd again and went to do potc. The girls were not too sure at first but seemed to like it when we were on it lol. Ash loves pirates, she even loves the whole ride just not the drops.

We then went to wait for captain jack to appear. Ash was playing near his pirate box. She is obsessed with it lol. When he came out he was probably not the best jack i have seen. For me the best characters can stay in character but relate to the person they are dealing with. He took ashleighs book signed it then wouldnt give it back to her. He kept holding it over her head and making her jump. When she said can i have it back its mine he looked to the front and said wheres your name. It would have been funny except ashleigh is three. Then this is the photo i got

Then it was time to go watch disneys showtime spectacular. Can i just say i love this show. its great from wherever you watch it. My mam would sit on a bench and watch it from a distance and we would stand up close for the character interaction.

Of course stitch made the whole show for us. Ash had already picked out her teddy. She is allowed one but usually spends the whole week to find the cuddliest (is that a word) one. She picked out angel and we had great fun with stitch. He took the angel plushes from ash and my friends dd and was dancing around with them. Then he went and sat down with them playing and a cm took them off him and gave them back to the girls which made him sulk on the ground. it was too funny.

He spent the whole time he was off the stage with the girls and really made their day. When he got up on stage he was waving and blowing kisses to ash and next he tore off one of the flowers from his lei and threw it to her. It landed right at her feet and she was the happiest little girl in disney that day lol

After ash had calmed down from all the excitement lol my friends dd wanted to show ash dr facillier. Now remember how scared she was earlier lol. Well it turns out my three year old is highly influenced by peer pressure. She loved dr facillier, in fact she would meet him over tiana any day. He was really nice and talked to ash about what rides she did and how brave she was for going on potc. She told him all about her flower from stitch. He really was one of the best cms i have ever seen

Seeing as we were on a roll we decided to introduce ash to jack. She did meet him and had a little chat with him but she really wasnt to taken with him at all even though she loves the nightmare before christmas on dvd.

Aww I know I've said this before but Ash is so cute!! I love how she has a dress for every day :D So cool to see the princesse's up close too, I didn't manage to get that close during our visit :( Is it just me or does Ariel look a bit perma-tanned!? Looks like you had another amazing time, looking forward to the next bit!

no this was at half twelve all the stars n cars characters came out around the park. the princesses were by the art of disney animation.

if you meet the dr facillier i did and i think there is only two then he is super nice. he is great with kids and doesnt go overboard with all the scary stuff. he had a full blown conversation with ash about how he is not scary lol

ok so after meeting jack we head back to fantasyland to watch the parade. this week we ended up having a usual spot for the parades and shows. we are so predictable lol.

Ash did a bit of ballet after the parade. No she doesnt take lessons, she makes it up as she goes along, calls it ballet and insists everyone watches her lol.

After the parade we did a few more fantasyland rides and then headed out of the park to have dinner at the rainforest cafe. It wasnt that busy when we went in but there was quite a queue as we left. Food was quite good till i was trying to put some vinegar on my chips and the thunderstorm happened, yep poured a cork full of vinegar everywhere, the food, my clothes. Ash who hates a lot of strong smells just wanted to leave but calmed down once i cleaned the table and moved my plate as far away from her as i could without sitting with the people next to me :rotfl:

After another look around the village, a quick look to be honest as we were all exhausted, we headed back to the hotel for another goods night sleep

its ok the second it happened i started laughing. i am just one of those people lol. stuff like this always happen to me. i had just taken off my jumper too and it was on my lap and i said to my mam i am going to give you my jumper now before i spill something on it :rotfl2:

julie he was honestly the nicest cm ever. ash stayed in her buggy while her friend introduced them and showed her he wasnt scary :rotfl2: he bent down to her level and asked her all about her day and what rides she had gone on. even now she say dr facillier is only scary in the film bless her. it took a lot for her to get over the killing of ray lol

Day 3 - Tuesday October 5th

Today was the day ashleigh was really looking forward to, she was having her meal in the auberge. She really loves this meal, its worth every penny to me. She decided to wear her sleeping beauty dress. So we got dressed,left my mam in bed and headed off.

Ash was really happy to finally wear her pink dress ( pink is her very favourite colour) and her new pink shoes.We headed to the park and went on buzz lightyear.

After getting off the ride ash started crying. I asked her what was wrong and her new shoes had cut her foot the poor thing. I went and met my friend after ringing my mam and asking her to bring some new socks and shoes. The girls wanted to go on the tea cups so i had to put ashleighs shoe back on and carry her. It was a difficult half hour before my mam showed up lol thank god i had the buggy. We made our way to main st and went to the first aid centre and got ash some plasters which helped.

My friend then had other plans so i met my mam and sorted out ashleighs foot. The train was coming down main st so ash got some more autographs

We had a look around frontierland for dr facillier but he wasnt there. Then it started raining. We headed to the castle to stand in for a few minutes. Withing five minutes the place was surrounded by people in ponchos. They were everywhere. Five minutes later, the rain stopped lol. I know its mean but i couldnt help but laugh at the panic of a few minutes of rain.

We watched the sleeping beauty show before our auberge reservation. At 12 we said goodbye to my mam and went for our meal

We were seated in the same place as last time which ash thought was hilarious, she kept saying is this our table mammy.

Suzy and perla came around and seemed delighted that ash knew which was which. They spent some time with her and saw her colouring, gave her loads of kisses and cuddles

Our food was lovely and ash finished everything, which keeps me happy.

Next up was Belle, she was really nice and couldnt stop ash talking to her.

After Belle came Snow White and her prince. I think snow white was french so i am not sure how much of ashleighs speech she understood but she smiled and laughed and couldnt get a word in, in any case. As she was leaving she held ashleighs head and kissed her on her forehead leaving a great big lipstick mark. I showed ash on my camera and she wouldnt let me wipe it off.

Then came Ariel. I have to say she was the nicest ariel we have ever met. She spoke with ash for ages. Ash told her she wants to grow up to be a mermaid. She came back a couple of times during the meal and stopped whenever she passed to talk to ash. She then came and asked me if i would mind if she took ash out the the photographer to get a picture of them both.

she was the best ariel we have ever met, and we have met loads. she was so nice to ash and got her to sit on her lap. ash explained she doesnt like to sit on princesses dresses in case she rips or dirtys them. so then they had a big conversation about how strong ariels dress was. all week long ash was telling the princesses about their strong dresses and how ariel said its ok to go near them :rotfl2: they were like um ok :rotfl:

i prefer to stay just to the side of reception. that way you dont get the noise of people hanging around outside but you are really close for breakfast and the buses. i like to stay in block 58. i requested this by email, they are usually quite good at giving you your request

The queues were really long again for the face painters so ash didnt want to wait. We watched the halloween show on main st which was really good.

Then we headed to the studios to watch stars n cars. We met up with my friend and her daughter. The characters were great fun today. Gaston was literally sweeping Ariel off her feet lol.

Ariel came over to ash so i had to quickly clue her in that we just saw her in the auberge and her and ash are best friends :rotfl2:. She was so nice and asked ashleigh if she wanted her to go get some more characters for her to meet. Of all the characters ash asked for minnie. She stays right over the other side the whole time so ariel said she would try her best after the show. We also met the evil queen

At the end of the show ariel stayed true to her word and brought minnie all the way over to ash. All the people behind us were saying wow isnt that girl lucky lol. Ash was over the moon and that just sealed ariels fate as ashleighs third best friend.

she is starting to miss them now, she had a bit of a cry last night. after a talk i have realised she thinks the cartoons are pretend but the characters at disneyland are real, so in her three year old mind stitch and angel really are her best friends. poor girl

Day 3 Continued

Now the last time i had an evening meal in cafe mickey it was a disaster. we were upstairs out of the way and only met two characters. Seeing as that did not seem to be the norm from reading reviews here i thought i would give it another go.

This time we were seated in the conservatory, it was nice a quiet and the characters all came around. Ash was delighted. I have to say the characters were a bit rushed but the restaurant was packed so i can understand that. At lunch i feel we get more interaction but with fewer characters so really its a toss up between which i prefer now.

First up was pluto who ash loves but she keeps asking why doesnt he walk on four legs like other dogs do.

The biggest excitement for the night was when stitch came. Ash was screaming look its my best friend i love you stitch. She got loads of cuddles and stitch even wrote to my best friend ashleigh love stitch in her book. She was over the moon when i read it out to her lol

Now ash is a bit afraid of certain villains. Mostly the tall thin ones so i was surprised when she said she would meet captain hook. Most of the other kids were hiding from him lol. It all went well till he asked her to hold his sword, no idea why but she didnt like that idea at all

After cafe mickey we had a look around the shops but to be honest there wasnt a whole lot i was interested in this trip. i think its a combination of seeing a lot of the stuff over and over and being totally exhausted from getting up at half six each morning lol

We went back to the hotel and fell into bed ready for another day

Day 4 - Wednesday 6th October

Again i left my mam have a lie in and i arranged to meet up with my friend when we got off the buses.

We headed into emh and it took forever to get the girls down mainstreet. They wanted their pic taken with everything.

We headed to fantasyland and straight onto peter pan which was a firm favourite this week. Ashleigh had decided that this week she wouldnt walk anywhere, she would dance instead lol.

From there we did a round of the fanstasland rides, dumbo, tea cups, carousel.

Then we had a go on Buzz Lightyear and made our way back to main street and took some more pics. We watched the train make its way down but it was the same characters again so we went to city hall to check if alice would be out today. The ladies in city hall made a big fuss of both girls. We were told that alice would be out at 11.30 and 12.30. Ashleigh was happy and couldnt wait to go alice hunting.

Me and my friend parted ways as i wanted to do woodys roundup. We got there and there was a queue outside but once it opened the queue moved quickly.

We met pluto and goofy. Ash ran straight to pluto and gave him hugs and kisses and goofy pretended to cry lol

Its definitely a great way to meet characters. i wish they would have more areas like this rather than the scrums.

I met up with my mam after woodys roundup. It was time to go find alice. I looked by the maze which was where i was told she would be, walked all around fantasyland, asked a cm at small world, nobody knew where she was. At 12 we decided to go into the maze, ash had been wanting to go in all week.

I was trying to film ash going around the maze, but as my luck would have it i pressed the button incorrectly. I am now the proud owner of ten minutes footage of my own feet walking around the maze :sad2:

We had another look for alice but the same as before she was nowhere to be seen. We went to the chalet de la marionette for some food. Afterwards we had one last look before we finally gave up. It wasnt going to happen today. Poor ash was a bit upset, she had promised ash in march that she would bring her alice dress to show her. I knew it was a bit of a long shot but after being told she would be out it was dissapointing.

We then went to meet sully, it was a bit of a free for all. I dont understand why they dont rope off a queue area like they used to. Its a nice photolocation but if everyone is crowding around you cant get any of it in a pic.

Then we went and got a spot round the back of stars n cars again. We have a terrible habit of always going to the same spot for the parades and i only notice it when i come home and look at my pictures

After stars n cars we went back to the main park.

We watched the new generation show from our usual spot and had met up with my friend and her dd again. As usual the two girls were like stitch groupies lol. He was so funny taking their teddies and running away with them till the cm told him off lol. He spent ages with them again giving them loads of kisses and cuddles.

After the show the girls ran over to the roped off area for the characters to leave and got more hugs and kisses. I love this pic of stitch he looks quite mischievous.

We then did a round of fantasyland rides again and got a space for the parade. As usual the girls danced the time away.

Now just to remind everyone of ashleighs big disappointment earlier on today when she couldnt find alice. I had hoped she might get waved at or something during the parade but instead this is what happened.

After the parade we went back to watch the last show of the evening........

so we are in our usual spot for the show and we see the characters are on their way. the girls run down to the rope and my friend minds our space. Stitch and Angel come right over and gives them hugs. Then ash being a cheeky bugger says to stitch can i have another flower and one for my friend too. Then we tell him we are going to watch the show.

Stitch and Angel come running over to us with a flower from stitch's lei each and they give one to the girls. Then the cm with them comes over and asks to take a pic of them all together for stitch. It was so cute the girls were over the moon.

Day 5

Again i left my mam with the breakfast card and me and ash went for emh. we did a round of the rides and met my with my friend and her dd.

as we were walking down main street we saw the character train coming down main street so we left the buggies with my mam as we ran after characters. she wanted a sit down again :rotfl2:

then we headed to frontierland in hopes of finding dr facillier but he wasnt out. my mam and my friend went on phantom manor while the girls danced around the place.

some more characters came out and the old hag from snow white came over and cackled into ashleighs face :rotfl2: she nearly lost it. ash jumped into my arms and my friends little girl was trying to climb up me to get away from her :rotfl:

the girls met a pumpkin girl and prince john and then my mam and friend rejoined us.

we took some pics of the halloween decorations and went to meet jack

ash still wasnt too sure of him but was a good sport anyway.

i think this is when we first met elaine (dlpdaft) and her dd. it was lovely to put a face to the screen name lol

first up was ariel, of course ash thinks she has already met her and they are best friends lol. its a good thing the characters know how to play along.

at this point with the mad character frenzy we had lost track of my friend and her dd. i rang her and they were in the queue for the parachute jump. now my mam hates heights, i am a total baby and ashleigh has turned into a scaredy cat. i wanted to try the parachute jump so i talked the other two into it. we had about a 15 minute wait which wasnt helping the nerves. when we got on it we all hated it lol. it was awful, my mam was screaming sweet jesus help me, ash was screaming i dont like it and i thought i was going to throw up over everyone. yes people we are a family of total wusses :rotfl: in saying that me and my mam said we would probably try it again for the laugh :lmao:

we recovered with some ice lollies and a sit down and ash changed into her mulan dress for stars n cars

we had got there early and staked out a spot at the back to meet more characters. a cm came over and asked us to bring the girls into the vip princess area. we had a great view of the show even though the girls didnt get the character interaction. at the end of the show i spotted mulan and mushu looking over at ash and they came straight over to her. she was over the moon bless her. she loves showing the characters their dresses on her lol

after that we headed back to the main park, i had a reservation for walts for me and ash. we had a great meal. the restaurant was very quiet and we got a window seat. we will definitely be back.

we met up with everyone for the parade. afterwards the girls had to say goodbye as my friend was going home. there were a few tears and i have to say we were all a bit sad for the rest of the day lol.

we did some rides in fantasyland and then watched the showtime spectacular again. ash felt a bit better once she spent some more time with lilo stitch and angel lol.

we walked back to the santa fe that evening. all of a sudden i saw a guy with a bright pink jumpsuit on. at first i thought who would wear that, then i realized it was elvis lol. looks like he still turns up in annettes every now and then.

i use photobucket as well and that is half my problems. it keeps crashing or takes forever so i get fed up and forget about the report lol

im not too sure yet what i will do. i know it will be on the morning we leave. she does love stitch, as you can see from my trip report lol. she thinks they are best friends. i am getting her a lilo dress from my friend, her daughter has grown out of hers and my friend said no point in my buying another. love her by the way lol. so i might wrap that up and say stitch is inviting her to disneyland paris

the week we went the weather was nice and warm and the parks were not that busy at all. october is our favourite time to visit the parks.

its not all its cracked up to be lol. im a sucker and ash has far too many dresses. i just cant help myself lol
