We returned from a long stay in Orlando a few days ago. The Disney portion of our stay was split between offsite (HIFS) and onsite (Old Key West).

We (daughter, age 9, and I) were in one-bedroom unit at OKW. We were in building 21, which is not close to the main pool, but a very short walk to one of the quiet pools.

I thought the resort beautiul and quiet. Walking from pool at night back to our room, I felt we were in a small town.

As for the room. It was so spacious, with a wonderful color scheme. I loved sitting on the deck, reading a book and watching the golfers. The bathroom is split--with one large part containing the jacuzzi tub and a sink. The other part had the shower, toilet, and another sink. There is also a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer.

We both loved this resort and definitely plan on staying here again. We had an AP rate, which was $276/night, tax included.

$276.00 per night for a 1 BR is a great price! Congratualations That is almost less than a room in one of the delulxe resorts would be! The DVC 1 br are wonderful. you should also try the other DVC 1 BR at BCV, BWV & VWL sometime they are all great. I don't think you would be able to get them as cheaply though.

Actually, we have stayed at the Boardwalk Villas in 2000. Had a one bedroom unit, which was wonderful. Also, had a great price--Fall Fantasy room-only no passes. With that discount, the rate was around $180, including tax. I tried to get a one bedroom unit at the Boardwalk Villas for this past trip, but could not get availability for my dates.

When I made the reservations back in May, I cancelled my Polynesian Concierge reservation after seeing the property during a business trip in April, I decided the resort did not appeal to me, even the reservationist commented on what a great rate I was getting for Old Key West.

Wow you really are lucky getting great rates! I am amazed. Fall is value season vs now which is summer season and it was 2 yrs ago, but even still you have gotten unbelievable rates. I have stayed at BWV since it opened and I am also a DVC member there and I have never heard of a rate of $180 for a 1 br! I have had family members meet us at BWV and they paid more than $180 per night for a studio at BWV. The next time I need to make cash reservations at a DVC resort I am going to call you first! LOL!!!:)

Shhhhhhhhhh!!!!! :) Don't give away the secret!!! ;)

We got great rates too by renting points. 24 points per night for a 2 bedroom villa at about $8-$9 per point. :) :) Uh oh, I'm giving away my secrets too! LOL :)
