Honeymoon Pre-Trip Report (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2874525)
Hello, readers! :goodvibes
A little about ourselves:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/me.jpg*Danielle (me, 23) - A Photography and sculpture artist with a huge crush for art history. I am a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania girl (and gosh darn proud of it)! And guessing like all of you, I have a HUGE overly obsessive love of all things Disney! (My favorite movie is Mulan! Followed by Princess and the Frog and UP). At one time I even worked as Cast Member for the Disney Store! I miss it dearly...
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/feeee.jpg*Chris (the fiancé, 23) - An Illustrator/graphic designer, a born and raised New Hampshire woodsman with a love for old-school/hand drawn Disney (Loves Eyvind Earl and Ub Iwerks with a passion). He is currently working as an assistant Sign Maker for Whole Foods Market.
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/cat.jpg*Midori (1 year old kitten)-Our little ninja baby. She enjoys eating McDonald's Chicken McNuggets and then working them off by doing some parkour.
The Happy Couple :)
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/collage.jpg
How we met:
We met our freshman year of college (Fall 2006). We both attended art school in Massachusetts. Our college has an annual student enrollment with less than 300 students and the female to male ratio is like 5:1! And that doesn't even factor in whether the male population is straight or single...
Luckily, Chris and I found each other and we have been best friends ever since. :lovestruc
Our Engagement:
I had asked my parents if we could go to Disney World for a long weekend to celebrate my 21st Birthday. :rolleyes1 It was during Disney's, "What Will You Celebrate?" promotion (where you got free admission on your birthday!) and I thought that was a milestone worth celebrating :) But it turns out we had more!
Our trip was from 5/29-6/1 2009, with my birthday on 5/31. Our group consisted of myself, my parents, Chris, Katherine (Chris' sister-celebrating her college graduation), and my 3 year old niece, Damia (her first visit).
5/30/2009-Our Magic Kingdom day!
After meandering our way through the park, Chris decided he wanted to take a picture behind Cinderella's castle in the courtyard. He slyly handed his sister the camera...I tried to pose with my arm around him, but he kept wriggling away. By the time I looked glanced over at him, he was already down on one knee. I started freaking out and yelling, "Here?! NOW?" For some reason I've always been uncomfortable with the idea of my parents being there for my proposal. Luckily at the same moment that Chris was proposing, my 3 year old niece had flipped her stroller and my parents had to pick everything back up :rotfl: Chris got a little choked up, proclaimed his love for me and he asked me to become his princess. :) I said "yes"!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/prop.jpg
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/ringg.jpg
Why 11/11/11?:
We have a few meanings behind this! It's not just a cool number. :)
1. Our first hang-out session was November 11th, 2006.
2. Chris' grandparents were married on November 11th, 1955.
3. One time I had joked, "let's get married 1,000 days from now!" we counted and it landed on 11/11/11.

Why a Disney Wedding?:
We were originally planning on having our wedding in the Boston area, because that's where we went to school/met, and all our friends and family could conveniently attend. However, there was something that didn't feel right about having our wedding in Boston...that and it will be friggin' COLD (I hate the cold weather :guilty: ).
That's when I came across the facebook event for Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding's Open House, held on August 28th, 2010. I decided that would be the real deal-breaker right there. After all, that IS where we got engaged ;) .
So, my mom and I flew down to attend the Open House to see what they had to offer.
It was my first time going over to this side of the Grand Floridian and I immediately fell in love with Franck's:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/DSC05267.jpg
My mother and I were all cute and matchy-matchy, too. We have a special talent of dressing in similar colors on the same day. Anyone else have that problem? :)
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/minirally37/41272_507475533885_108400203_30164816_6955347_n.jp g
Of course, I was VERY impressed with all of the information Disney provided and how approachable the consultants were. Before I knew it, I was already giving all of my wedding ideas and picking our date with consultant, Stacey. (She's so great!)
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/minirally37/41215_507475503945_108400203_30164812_7176230_n.jp g
Haha, us caught in the act of planning! Thanks DFTW :)
And with that short meeting, we were penciled in for our date! Before I knew it, a Disney wedding fell into my lap! :lmao:
We then walked over to the funny Q&A session at the Wedding Pavilion.
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/DSC05272.jpg
As soon as I walked in...it was love. :goodvibes The Wedding Pavilion is gorgeous and perfect! So, now we are penciled in for a ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion, reception at Atlantic Dance Hall and a dessert party to follow at Terrace de Fleurs in the France Pavilion of EPCOT!

OH. Here's my idea of wedding colors! I always get weird looks when I tell people I want blue, brown and orange. I guess they think it's going to look like some sort of rainbow diarrhea. :confused3
The image is an actual setting they had previewed at the Disney Fairy Tale Open House...I just tweaked the colors from green to blue to show what I want :lovestruc
:yay: Blue and brown and orange flowers! Pretty! :yay:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/newscheme.jpg
So I went with two of my closest bridesmaids (seeing as the rest of them are scattered across 5 other states) to David's Bridal just to get an idea...
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/minirally37/0910001917.jpg
We found this dress. They liked it...it kept their tatas in (my mother is insisting on strapping these girl's tatas down! HAHA.) They liked the A-line and brown band; it made them feel thinner.
Oh well, gotta keep looking and an open mind!
Any ideas where to look for the blue I want as bridesmaids dresses? I guess this isn't the time of the year to look for them...

I am overly excited! Once I told all of our friends that we were planning for a Disney wedding they freaked out in excitement.
So I threw together these little digital save-the-dates that I sent to my friends on facebook:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/minirally37/63580_507578272995_108400203_30167955_8388180_n.jp g
I'm hoping that the earlier I notify everyone, the more time they have to save up money!
So far, everyone that I sent them to is excited and appreciated the time I took to make them :lovestruc Yay!

Oh! And I'm happy to share that I made my first official purchase towards our wedding! I ever-so-sneakily bought 3 of the DFTW David Tutera flower girl cones on sale from the Disney Store. Thank goodness they were only $9.99--that's a steal!!! :thumbsup2 Now if I can only find the matching pillow that is discontinued.... :headache:
They are even prettier than I imagined! I can't wait for my flower girls to see them!
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/minirally37/60444_507600787875_108400203_30168460_7075432_n.jp g

My brother asked his daughter, my niece (now 4 years old! holy cow!) if she wanted to be a flower girl. She asked what a flower girl entailed...and if she got to "throw flowers all over the place" :rotfl: This is going to be good!

I love your colors and I have to tell you: I went in June 2009 for my PS and I *wanted* those petal cones but they were around $70 each. I ended up getting Mickey purses for the flower girls but I am so jealous you got them for $10!!! I am in shock! I can't wait to see what you come up with. I am imagining a chocolate cake with those beautiful flowers on it!

We finally narrowed down the 3 resorts we wanted our guests to choose from:
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Caribbean Beach Resort
All-Star Movies
!!! :dance3: !!!
I can't wait to get my wedding on by staying in the Animal Kingdom Lodge! :rotfl: Ever since we ate at Jiko in May 2010, I've been obsessed with it! It's so pretty :lovestruc
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/minirally37/AnimalKingdomLodge_008_Lobby_JPG.jpg
So, I sent back this info (and the dreaded room block chart :headache: ), back to my consultant...She responded telling us that she got an even deeper discount for our guests during that time! :worship: YES.
Hopefully that means more guests will come ;)

Ok not to take up your pj but maybe you can help me with my question. Even though I can't make anything official yet should I email them about doing my room block now? Or were you already able to book at 16 months?

Oh no problem! I like that people are reading my PJ :goodvibes
I would totally email someone! I've already returned all my room block info and guest list info. Someone is writing up my LOA as we speak and should be emailed to me by early next week.
I have to say, I am still a little confused too. I thought everyone had to wait until the 12 month mark to officially book, but on this timeline they gave me it states that:
At 16 months out-events held in one of our theme parks or a location other than our ballrooms (Ariel's and Atlantic Dance Hall) can begin working on a Letter of Agreement immediately. For events held in our ballroom locations, the agreement process can begin 12 months prior to your requested date.
So, I guess it depends on where you are looking to have your reception...?
Hope that helps!!!

Can I just say how jealous I am that you're having an 11-11-11 wedding? That was the date that we wanted, since it's the day that my FI asked me to marry him and also his birthday :D But oh well :) Love your colors! Mine are Blue and Orange (or turquoise and tangerine) as well :)

Ok ladies! So any help on this would be greatly appreciated. And I'm sorry in advanced if this is rambling poo coming out, but it's past my bedtime ;)
I want my three little flower girls to be mini princesses at the wedding. (They will be ages 3, 4, and 5 at that time.)
I really want to send them to the Bibbity Boppity Boutique to have hair done, but to save some money, I'd like to purchase their outfits before hand. (Preferably in the next couple weeks--discounted Halloween stuff! :thumbsup2 )
SO...Which dress do you like??!!!

Blue IS my color, and I'm not too upset if someone else wears white on my wedding day (I was considering dying the white one, but it's synthetic and wouldn't work too well.) But I'm concerned about it being a different shade of blue than what I was originally picturing  Oh well, I can live, right? :confused3 :rotfl: RIGHT? :crazy2:

Yes, right now Alfred Angelo styles are my some of my top favorites, I just haven't committed to a color yet. All of their blues are too pale or too green. I want burn-your-retinas bright turquoisy blue. :lmao:
But now I'm thinking of toning it down and matching it to Cinderella's blue. That seems more do-able.
Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Blue jay looks the closest to me but you'll probably want to compare fabric to fabric in person.

10-05-2010, 06:18 PM
Ok, now I'm leaning more towards this one:
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/minirally37/102091M.jpg
Because:
1. I was reading "traditional wedding" customs and the flower girl and ring bearer are supposed to mimic the bride and groom. Thus it is OK for the flower girl to wear white.
2. The shade of blue I want for my bridesmaid dresses is much different from this and I am a stickler on being matchy-matchy.
So I feel the white is the way to go.
Also, something else to think about...the dessert party is going to be outside between 8-10 at night in November, so they might get a little chilly...and sleeves will help :)
I'll let you know which one I decide on! :lmao::rotfl:
***OH and I'm wouldn't do the veil...just the dress.

Just thought I'd post the start of the little projects I'm working on.
I'm designing all the little informational inserts to put into our guests welcome folders.
I started with my favorite :lmao: The "Drinking Around the World" Checklist.
Front:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/check.jpghttp://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/bb-1-2-1.jpg
I saw this idea from another DISbride, I can't remember who, but I thought it would be a good thing for our college buddies to have...so I revamped it!
Surprisingly it was really hard to find which drinks are offered at each of the countries. I'm not a huge drinker, (You can find me in Mexico with my fiesta margarita :drinking1) so I wasn't sure what was served where.
I think I'm going to do a couple more of these with a list of our favorite restaurants, rides, etc. Or even a Thank-You, Welcome...OH THERE'S SO MUCH I CAN DO!!! :goodvibes

Oh man, nothing too new in the world of planning, but I thought this was exciting news to share.
Future sister-in-law and I are going to look at more bridesmaids dresses tomorrow (yay :goodvibes) and when I went to call and make an appointment at the one place the lady was hilariously poking fun at me that I haven't found a dress (or even started looking for that matter) and that she is going to force some for me to try tomorrow!!! :scared1: :lmao:
I've never tried any wedding dress on...so we'll see how this goes...
Guess I better start googling styles I like. And shave my legs! LOL :rotfl:
I'll let you know how I make out!

Good morning! :goodvibes
My long day dress hunting with my future sister-in-law, Katherine, turned out pretty successful. We went to 2 different places, and I'm pretty sure she tried on about 25 different dresses...she was a good sport. :)
And after many swatches and dress styles later...we both fell in love with this:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/1009001142.jpg
Just so you know, this is NOT the color we are going with and it is obviously too big on her...but I LOVE the whole look. :goodvibes
It's a Watters dress: dupioni silk, pockets, optional spaghetti straps will come and will come in the color Adriatic blue.
I'm in love with the bust of it! It reminds me of Ariel in a way :rotfl: but I also think it is a great style that will compliment the Atlantic Dance Hall.
This is what the dress, in the correct color, will look like according to the Watters website:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/Screenshot2010-10-09at32429PM.jpg
It's fun and flirty and all my out-of-state bridesmaids that I've shown it to love it! YAY!
So after I found the bridesmaids dress that I love :lovestruc, we went to lunch at Sonic and then on to dress shop #2!
Now, I knew that the lady at this place was going to make me try on wedding gowns (she was poking fun at me on the phone because I hadn't even started looking yet) so as soon as I walked in, the gowns came out.
This was my first time putting on a wedding dress...it was fun! :upsidedow
Well, after I got in the first and walked out of the dressing room, my future sister-in-law started to tear up and cry! I LOVED it. It was the best out of the 3 I tried on. Could it really be this easy? :lmao: LOL.
This is very close to what it looked like, except I don't remember the top neckline looking like that (it was a surreal moment, after all) but if the top is like that, then it matches the bridesmaids!!! Weee!!!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/Screenshot2010-10-10at101900AM.jpg
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/Screenshot2010-10-10at101904AM.jpg
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/Screenshot2010-10-10at101916AM.jpg
Turns out at the end of the day, the price of the gown will be LESS than the price of all the bridesmaids dresses put together (we are footing the bill for them also) :scared1: Oh well, everyone will look fabulous! ;)
So that's all I have to report for now on the dress situation.
Now I'm off to do some crafty things!
OH! And sign our Letter of Agreement and send it back!!!!!!!!!!!

So the first thing I printed out were these little beauties :lmao::
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/Photoon2010-10-10at1747.jpg

I am so pumped (and relieved) because I went back with 3 more of my girlfriends today to try on the previous potential wedding dress...and I think it really is THE ONE!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::thumbsup2 I LOVE IT.
I also asked the woman what the top looked like again, because I remembered the top being differently.
Turns out it's the same dress and I can get the top of the bodice in pleats (that match the bridesmaids dresses!) SCORE! :goodvibes:cool1:
YAY!
I FINALLY HAVE DECIDED ON DRESSES I LOVE!
I now present to you, THE gown :lovestruc:cloud9:

It has the right amount of jewels, it's beautiful satin, the train is the perfect length and it hugs me in all the right places! :goodvibes
I'm even going to do a veil with it (I didn't think I wanted one until I tried it on, hahah!)
And the gown is officially going to look splendid with this style bridesmaid dress:

Now I'm just waiting on my mommy to fly up here and see everything in person and then we'll order them! (I've sent her emails of the dresses and she loves them :thumbsup2).
Now on to researching tuxes...dang, I feel like this is going to be hard. :lmao:

This time it was my David Tutera for Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings ring bearer pillow! :thumbsup2
I was very nervous because I ordered it off of ebay (I've never done that before), but I was desperate to get this discontinued pillow to match the flower girl petal cones. :headache:

I feel like 2011 is going to burn a hole in everyone's pockets. Gah! :headache::sick: So much money being spent right now, but I guess it's good we're kind of spacing out our purchases.
My parents got the contract, signed it, and it's making it's way down to DFTW as I type. :goodvibes I can't wait to get my planner!
Also, I think we've decided on booking Reverend Tim Herring as our officiant! :woohoo: He seems like such a sweetheart and I think will be perfect for us...Now, just gotta send our deposit!
EDIT: WE GOT REVEREND TIM <3 YAY!!!
I've also contacted David & Vicki Arndt to do our engagement photos when we go down for our planning session in May. I love their work and I hope that the time we want is still available! (go figure, May is the busiest month :rolleyes1 )
EDIT: WE GOT DAVID & VICKI FOR THE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT! :) I'm happy!
And D23 announced today that the Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th Anniversary Celebration is going to be that same weekend that we are going down in May ;):thumbsup2 I'm excited!!! Guess I have to save up for those tickets too now! :rotfl:

Yes, it does take quite a while to get the planning packet and hear from your planner. I would suggest just working on anything you don't have done yet. You can start looking at some menus, putting together a music list for the reception, or wording for the ceremony. Have you decided where you want to have your engagement shoot done?

I had a couple hours before work, so I decided to make another goody for our guest's welcome bags. I made signs that our guests can hang up in their window at the value and moderate resorts!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/signmockup.jpg
Still trying to figure out what kind of signage to make for our deluxe resort guests...Any suggestions? (They will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.) Have people put door hangers or something of the decor sort at their room in AKL? It's just difficult when the doors are wood and there are no windows towards the guests.

I love the hair inspiration pic's. That is similar to how I want my hair and I have been having a hard time finding good photos. The window signs are very cute! I think a door sign would work perfect for AKL to hang on the doors, maybe you could even include some cute wording that relates the AKL.

I love the hair inspiration pic's. That is similar to how I want my hair and I have been having a hard time finding good photos. The window signs are very cute! I think a door sign would work perfect for AKL to hang on the doors, maybe you could even include some cute wording that relates the AKL.
Yay! I will totally try doing a door hanger for my AKL guests then. :goodvibes

So, my mommy flew up from Pittsburgh for just 1 full day so I could go try on the wedding dress for her. Needless to say, she loved it and she had her crying moment. ;)
So the gown is now officially ordered! YAY! Huge check off our list now. :cool1:
Ok, and I have a request for help ladies!
I am trying to get an idea of what to wear for my engagement photo session. All I have picked out is my shoes/headband for one...and I need to know what should go in between :lmao:
So, in your opinions, what color(s) / style of outfits would go nice with these?:

http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/84130198-08.jpg
I'm worried about getting too red or too bizarre. The locations we're having them taken are the Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge. And it's going to be in May, to factor in the temperature.
Thanks in advance!!!

Your shoes and headband are so cute. What if you have like a cute white sundress? Or even like capris and a nice top? When in May are you going. We are planning on being there like the 2nd week of May.

So I booked Beauté Spécialé for my trial run hair/make up in May and also for my wedding day! :thumbsup2
And I caved and ordered the Mickey groom ears top hat and Minnie bride headband off of Ebay...I got the Mickey groom hat today and I'm happy with them, so I'm glad we'll have them for the e-photos and rehearsal! :cutie:
Also, I'm kind of excited cause I think I figured out what kind of centerpieces I would like to have! I was torn between flowers and feathers. I'm going all out with the Art Deco theme to compliment the Atlantic Dance Hall and I feel like feathers are very reminiscent of that style. But Fe thought all feather centerpieces looked tacky and gross, but then I showed him these:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/cp1.jpg
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/cp2.jpg
He doesn't hate them, but I think they're perfect! A little bit of everything. :goodvibes
Of course, I'd change the colors...so maybe he'll like them more when they pop. :rotfl:
BUT right now I'm having the conflict of which photographer(s) to choose.:sad2::sad1: I am SO nervous and nitpicky and pretty much having a nervous breakdown only about this aspect of the whole wedding! :scared1: These are the times I wish I didn't have a BFA in Photography and have a good eye for photographs. :rotfl: I think I'm going to have to ask outsiders for their opinions... :confused3 What to do???
So that's really all that's new on the wedding front...but in other Disney news:
I got my cast member name tag! :cool1:

So, I'm getting really giddy because tomorrow marks the start of our 1 year countdown!!! :hyper::cheer2::hyper: So I thought I'd post! :bride:
Anyways,
This past Monday was D23's 70th Anniversary Celebration of Fantasia — Then, Now and Forever! in Boston and me, Fe, a co-worker from the Disney Store, and some of our art school friends went in to town to catch the event. We had a fabulous time!!!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/74048_507863321755_108400203_30175665_2919436_n.jp gMe with producer Don Hahn! (I was melting.)
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/148500_507863341715_108400203_30175667_5058580_n.j pgSorcerer Mickey was in Boston! I couldn't believe he was there...you'd think I was 6 years old again. :rotfl: :wizard:
And now for the stuff I've gotten in the mail...:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/1110001534.jpg
Thank jeebus I got these! I am SUCH a nervous wreck when it comes to buying things off of Ebay (I guess it's because I've been scammed so many times before...) But if any of you are wondering if it's worth buying the discontinued Mickey top hat groom ears...it totally is! ;) Fe is actually being a good sport about it and he's gonna wear it during our wedding rehearsal. (Even though Best Man #1 thinks they're dumb... :headache:)
And the other day I got this cute card :)
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/letter.jpg
And inside was:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/swatches.jpg
My fabric swatches! Neat!
Now I can successfully show people what shade of blue I'm talking about...
I also joked with Fe (because they sent a sample of my wedding gown fabric) that I got my wedding dress in the mail! I was like, "look! here it is...this is what I'm wearing to our wedding!" and i took the little square and held it over my pelvis.
Fe refused to turn around (I guess he really thought I got my dress :rotfl:) and when he did he did one of these guys :scared1: and then one of these guys :lmao:.
Oh and I'm excited because I've decided I'm going to DIY my unity candle set! I can't wait to get crafty!:thumbsup2
So that's all for right now...! :lovestruc
Happy Wednesday, all!

1. WE WERE ASSIGNED OUR PLANNER!!! :dance3:
Sooooooo excited, can you tell?! :rotfl:
I'm just bummed cause I missed the call while I was at work...but we got Carol Mikles and she sounded absolutely adorable in the voicemail :cutie:
2. I decided to get all DIY for our unity candle arrangement...well I got this guy in the mail today and that's basically my starting point. :thumbsup2

I gotta figure out what I wanna do to the candles...But I am thinking I want to spraypaint the candle holder brown to match our colors better. Then when it's on the actual altar, it will have fresh orange floral stuck in some of the nooks and crannies :)
Yaaayyy! :flower3:

:goodvibes I was originally leaning towards the sand ceremony, but the more I thought about it, the sand ceremony seems like child craft-time sand art and there was no way I could transport it back home...so I chose the unity candles.

So I've been researching what sort of jewelry I wanted to wear with my wedding dress. I decided I wanted to go all-out with the Art Deco theme found in Atlantic Dance Hall (and now my wedding gown!), so I wanted something to match.
I found this and am in love! :lovestruc
Necklace:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/closeupneck2.jpg
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/closeupnecky.jpg
Bracelet:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/RH2111_closeup2_ExtravagantPearlBracelet.jpg
Then my Mommy wanted to know if it would really match, so I got creative and put the jewelry on to the model that's wearing my wedding gown: :rotfl:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/wjewl.jpg
Then I'd probably wear something like simple pearl studs, so earrings won't distract from it all.
What do you all think? Too much?
The only sparkle on my dress is what's showing, so the rest is just plain satin.
Opinions welcomed!

I'll give you my honest reaction: the jewelry is very pretty and your dress is truly gorgeous, but I'm not really feeling them *together*. To my eye, the jewelry is just a little bit too much with the dress and detracts from it a little. And I think it's not even so much the bracelet as it is the necklace that sort of overpowers the design of the dress.
JMHO. :flower3:

Also just MHO but I agree with pixie. I think the bracelet goes well, but the necklace is a little too much and detracts somewhat from your absolutely gorgeous dress!!!
What about trying bigger earrings and no necklace???

I agree with some of the others in that the top of your dress is interesting and beautiful on its own, and that you really don't need a necklace. If you want to add some bling, maybe a cool headband or vintage hair pins or clips? Or a cool fascinator? If you're wearing your hair up...then some big earrings could work too.

I LOVE the jewelry, it is so gorgeous and I think it will go perfect with your Art Deco theme! I debated about doing that myself as I am also using ADH, so I will be very excited to see how it all turns out! If you don't end up wearing the jewelry with your wedding gown, I would still get it and wear it for the rehearsal or something because it is just so glamorous!

It may seem a little much, but I think my best option is to order it and see how it looks in person. I may even remove the part on the necklace that hangs down, so it's just a plain circle... :confused3 We will see!!!

There you go! You're right ... in person is always the best way to know for sure. And I like the idea of possibly removing the drop on the necklace to make it complement the dress a bit more ... it really is pretty jewelry. :)

I am OVER-THE-MOON right now! :goodvibes
A couple posts back, I mentioned how I was stressing over which photographers to use for our actual wedding day.
It was especially hard for me, because I have a B.F.A. in photo...so all I would do was critique other artist's photos. :confused3 I was also in a hard spot where all of our artsy-college friends who studied photography offered to shoot our wedding, but I had to go with my gut and decline. (I couldn't risk anything bad happening :scared1:)
Then ALL of the most-used/well-known DISboard photographers were unavailable for our date. :guilty:
I was getting really upset until I found a post about a set of photographers that were similar to the Roots, so I Googled them.
(This is the exciting part :)):
**We are using Ashley and Phillip Colhouer from 13:13 !!!!!** :yay:
If you haven't seen their work...go to their site and blog! :thumbsup2

I feel at such peace right now knowing that we are going to have fantastic photos!
I'm really excited too because we are actually going to have Ashley and Phillip a couple days through our trip (they live a little ways away; so we're housing them at Disney) They're going to be able to shoot our rehearsal and our wedding day!
Chris and I are traveling down to Cape Cod tomorrow to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family (This is my first Thanksgiving without my parents! :sad1:) But I know I will have a fun time...we get to share more wedding info with them!
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!! :flower3:

hey my names Vicky, i came across you because i'm searching for a reception location, and i saw you had the same problem a few months ago. I see you went with the Dance hall, which would also be my pick except my wedding is March 10 2011 on a thursday, the ceremony is a 5pm and they dont offer it past 6. Did you get to see the other location you were interested in i know you mentioned the LSS, which i like the idea of, but i'm worried about how dark it is and the way its set up. I'm new to this site any info you can throw at me would be great. I love the choices you've made so far, especially your color choices they look great together.

We got the go from my planner--our Planning Session and Menu Tasting will be on May 12th, 2011!!! :thumbsup2
So I've been on the phone with my parents about making our travel arrangements. I think I've made our whole little trip schedule...it might change a little though.
Me and my parents are staying at the Wilderness Lodge this time for 3 nights! SO EXCITED! ;)
I don't know where Chris and his parents want to stay yet...It'd be great if we could all stay together at the Wilderness Lodge, but I don't want to force anyone to staying there (I know that the rustic theme overpowers some people) and knowing his mom, she'd wanna stay at the Poly, haha.
But here is the tentative May 2011 trip schedule:

I got word from my family and friends that they received our save-the-dates in the mail this week!!! :goodvibes I'm so excited!
I haven't even seen them in person yet, but they are the ones that DFTW provides:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/std-2.jpg
They even said that they were able to get on the facebook wedding website, which I guess is working fine...:laughing:
I also went ahead and ordered some shoes!!!
I thought I originally found a pair that I was going to buy, but the heel turned out to be too tall (I'm not good with heels!)
So I've been searching the web for WEEKS trying to see if there was something I like.
Then I came across a pair of Nina shoes which had an appropriate heel size for me! And it came in white satin (that will match my dress) and it has a pleating design! Then I noticed that you could make your own in the same style.
So here's what I ordered!

I am so jealous that you are a Pittsburgh gal. Df and I are huge Steelers fans and we love PA. If it wasn’t so cold we would move there. We have been to Philadelphia a couple times, still hoping to eventually make it out to a game in Pittsburgh though. YAY a fellow CM. I actually worked at Disney Store on the studio lot in 2001, it isn’t there anymore :o( Do you love it? Is your store one of the new style?
I love that you chose 11-11-11 because it has so much meaning behind it! I can’t believe that it was exactly 1,000 days later, if you ask me it’s fate! It’s so cute how you and your Mom dressed similarly and that DFTW snapped your pic. That’s a fun keepsake. Sooooo glad you were able to get the DT flower girl cones & ring pillow so inexpensively! (If you ask me they were way overpriced to begin with just to have his name attached to them) They are beautiful though. AKL sounds amazing (and romantic), I read about their concierge level and the special safari thing. I imagine you forget you are in Florida sometimes staying there. I think you made the right choice about the flower girl dresses and surprisingly the stock photo didn’t do it justice. I think it will be absolutely perfect for your little princesses!! It is so sparkly!!
Drinking around the world seems like fun, I like the checklist. (stealing it) I love the top of the dresses they match beautifully. Your dress is gorgeous! What a great idea, the Cindy pic for your guests. Did you change the back to B&W (Being an artistically gifted person)? I think feathers rock for centerpieces and you are right, they do match the style and theme of the hall.
OK, I’m super jealous that you went to the D23 Fantasia 70th event. I bet it was awesome. I can’t wait for the next D23 expo out here in Aug!!
BTW, I think the jewelry you found is stunning and not too overpowering. It is hard to tell on the model because of her subtle make-up, but I am sure it will look perfect, if you love it, go for it!

Aww, thanks for reading through my PJ! I really appreciate it :goodvibes
That's awesome that you guys love Pittsburgh! I totally understand about the cold weather (and it's cloudy almost every day, booo )
I am TOTALLY in love with being a CM. Best feeling ever. Our store is not one of the new ones, but it gets the job done. :lovestruc
LOL. And yes, I did change the b/g to the Cindy pic. ;)
I'm going to the next D23 Expo!!! We should have a DISmeet! :thumbsup2
you'll be at your planning session the same time we are on vacation!! we will be staying at the gf so maybe we'll see your epix at some point!! we may try to do ours then too. haven't decided yet.
so i'm not sure if i ever told you... i was born and raised in the pittsburgh area and moved away at 19 after i completed my first/only year of college at point park. are you headed there for the holidays? i'm leaving on the 23rd and am coming back on the 26th.
all your plans look great btw!
Yay! Disney in May is such a great time! I think it'll be great if you get a chance to spy on us doing our epics! :goodvibes
And Woohoo to another Pittsburgh girl!!! :woohoo: It's insane how many PA brides I'm reading about on here! Small world.
I don't know my plans for the holidays yet (fast approaching, I know) but my work schedule isn't done yet. I am flying back to Pittsburgh this week though, I have jury duty, so I guess I'll be celebrating the holidays with my family early.
All of your dinning choices sound great, many of those are my favorite places to eat at! Congrats on booking the planning session and getting the STD'S!
Thanks! We're getting really excited about everything. Especially the dining, isn't dining at Disney like...the best part?!

I got the cake knife and server in the mail! It is more incredible than I thought! I am in love :lovestruc probably one of the better purchases I've made.
I also went home to Pittsburgh for a couple days last week (for jury duty) but luckily I didn't get called back any additional days so I got to spend some time with my parents. :thumbsup2 We got our Christmas tree, went shopping, and got to go to a family Christmas party. Overall, it was a good couple of days...really hoping I can get home for Christmas though, I don't know about my work schedule yet. :confused3
I also got to see one of my MOHs and showed her the swatch of the bridesmaid dresses...She loved it! Hopefully she'll love the whole dress.
Last night Chris and I went to his little cousins' house and we got to ask them if they wanted to be the flower girl and ring bearer. His aunt was so appreciative and got so excited (a little teary-eyed too) The kids still seem a little confused, but they accepted and hopefully they'll be REALLY excited once they find out it's going to happen in Disney. ;)
Also, I JUST found out they have matching toasting flutes to our serving set! I just ordered them and got free engraving! :wizard:

Your sparkly server set and sparkly toasting glasses are awesome as well. I love them.
DH took me to a D23 event when we went to Disneyland back in March. We saw Toby Tyler at the Studio lot and it was so much fun and great to see the studios, they even let us shop in the store which was really fun. I had to control myself from buying everything!
We are going to the D23 expo in August too!!! My DH went to the 1st one but I couldn't go because it was the start of the school year for me (I'm a teacher). I simply can't wait for this one. We should all say hi when there :flower3:.

Hi everyone!
:santa: Hope you are all still enjoying the holiday season. I can't believe 2011 is this weekend! :scared1:
There's really nothing too new to report. I've flown back and forth from MA to PA 2 times in the past couple weeks and I just now have caught a cold. :headache: Luckily, it's just that...and nothing more severe.
Wishing all of you a safe and merry New Year!!! And I'll make sure to post something wedding related in 2011! :yay:

Happy 2011!
I'm getting married this year!!! :goodvibes
And a lot of you lovely ladies too! Congrats to us! :thumbsup2
Chris and I went wedding band looking today! I've been searching on the internet for styles I thought I'd like...but of course when I got to the store I tended to like the styles I thought I would hate. :rotfl: Why does it always work out that way?!
We did not buy anything yet...but at least we have a better idea of what we were wanting.
These are the rings we tried on and liked the best:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/pZALE1-8890803t400.jpg
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/pZALE1-4927463t400.jpg
Whenever we work up enough energy (and both have the same days off of work) we're going to venture into Boston and go to the place where Chris purchased my engagement ring and see what they have for wedding bands. I feel like they'll be able to help me more than just the regular mall stores.
Ok, I'm going to go get off my "diamond high" now and go see the new Tron movie.
Take care, everyone!

So, I was off of work today and started playing around with our buffet menu items, but then drifted to some cake designs.
The one thing that I wanted to do was let Chris have the biggest say in making the cake, since I've practically done everything else. But I thought it would still be fun to just sketch out some ideas. This is going to be the hardest part!!! :upsidedow
We know what flavors we want though! :rotfl:
Ever since the DFTW Open House in August 2010 (they had flavors for us to try) I knew that Chris would love the lemon cake with raspberry filling. He LOVES fruity desserts. I liked the combo, because it was light and not as rich/sweet. We're also thinking of having the orange cake/orange filling for alternate layers. We have a lot of guests that are allergic to peanuts and/or chocolate...so that leaves out quite a bit. So fruit cake it is!!! :thumbsup2
These are just a couple of designs I came up with...
Trying to keep with the Art Deco theme and color scheme. Done with either color fondant or ribbons for the line work and then minimal fresh floral:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/cakesketchv1.jpg
And then this <incomplete> design:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/cakev2.jpg
Which would have the crystal ribbon around the layers and some kind of topper that resembles the feather plumes.
For some reason I can't get to adding color to this one...grr.
Oh well, I'll show Chris and hopefully he can brainstorm for us! :lovestruc

:bride: 10 months from today I will be getting married! Ahhh! :woohoo:
This scares me/ excites me because now I have a little over 100 days until our planning session!
Currently, I am scanning a box of vintage Disney stickers Chris got a while ago from Disney World...
For about 2 years we've been wanting to Mod Podge them to our coffee table to mimic a pillow that I got from D-Street.
So, I finally went out and bought a big bottle of Mod Podge and I've been scanning the stickers all afternoon...Just thought this would be a good surprise, especially since we're both going to be snowed in the next two days. :rotfl:
I'll post pics when we're done with the project. :)
I also got more accessories for my unity candle project, which seems to have gone on the back burner for a couple months...hopefully I'll be able to finish that soon and start on a new one.
That's all for now!
Keep warm, everyone!

Well, we survived the blizzard. It's really gross outside though...:sad2:
Chris and I did get around to Mod Podging the table with our vintage Disney images...and it turned out really neat, until our cat decided she would knock over a bottle of iced tea and ruin part of it... :headache: So now we have to fix part of it.
I've also been working on my unity candle project and am almost done with it! I just have to spray paint the holder and it should be good. :thumbsup2
I will post pictures as soon as it's complete! :)
And today I finally purchased some totes for our welcome bags! I ordered the reusable bags they sell at the Disney Store and I managed to save over $60 in the end! :woohoo: (THEY WERE ONLY 80 CENTS EACH!) :woohoo:
They look like this:

Someone complimented me that I had such a beautiful vision and it all sounds beautiful, while that is extremely sweet, I am having a hard time picturing everything myself.
It's actually making me nervous and concerned...
So I'm doing more in-depth collages that will help me to visualize everything.
This is my bridesmaid one so far:

Anyways...This the overall feel I want for my men:

I'm probably not going to get those exact cufflinks, seeing as they are pretty pricey and I was thinking the hats would just be fun to have around for reception pictures, but everything else seems to be a keeper.
Do you think the guys and gals will compliment each other well?

I have to ask about the tealight holders you had in your reception collage -- I have the same flutes and cake set and would love to find the candle holders, too. Can I ask where you found them?

So, this past week has been a pretty good one. I had a couple days off in a row, so I got to do nothing but wedding plans! :goodvibes
-I made the collages, which most of you have already seen on the previous page, to make sure my vision is cohesive enough for myself.
-I found the bridesmaid and groomsmen's gifts...now just have to order them!
-I made the templates/designs for the reception placecards...just have to buy paper and print!
-5 out of the 7 bridesmaids have sent in their measurements for the dresses! (I had none before this weekend!)
-I GOT MY SHOES/"SOMETHING BLUE"! AND THEY FIT!!!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/shuz.jpg
-Also, the fantastic DISboarder, NickandLarisa aka Larisa of Moya Lara: Exquisite Wedding Invitations made my invitation mockup and sent me the preview! IT'S GORGEOUS!!!! :flower3::upsidedow I am so excited! I just kinda left everything up to her, except I told her I wanted it to be sorta Art Deco-ish and have our colors. Well, her approach was pretty neat and combined Art Nouveau and Art Deco, which makes it look soft and perfect for a wedding invitation. Just to give you an idea how unique it's going to be...THIS IS NOT OUR ACTUAL INVITE:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/envelope.jpg
That is the way it is going to open and it's that fun rectangular format. Can't wait to see the finished product!
What was also cool is I saw her status update on Facebook and it was about me and Chris! :rotfl:

I'm such a facebook junkie :surfweb: ohhhhhhh, it's bad. But I still thought that was pretty neat. ;)
But the icing that really topped the cake...: MY DRESS CAME IN!!! They didn't show it to me, because it had just arrived today  and they have to do an inspection, but WOW:woohoo: that was so fast! I can't wait to go back in and try it on!!! :lovestruc

I love the teal and brown, they compliment each other so well!!! OMG the men are wearing fedoras! I thought about using those for the guys, though I am still debating. There is a costume shop in town and every time I go I always eye them. I really dig your bridesmaid collage is absolutely breathtaking :) You are right on target with your theme. So we finally booked our hotel stay for our planning session in May! It's CONFIRMED we will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge for 3 nights and I couldn't be more excited!!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo:
And I finally finished planning our schedule during those few days..with all dining reservations done and vendors confirmed!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/weeksched.jpg
Looks like it's going to be a busy couple of days, but it will be so fun :goodvibes
Also, I had been chatting with some of my bridal party and friends this week. They are really concerned about saving up money for the trip. :guilty: So I tried really hard to ease their minds and I made a blog about "planning and budgeting for Disney" and I showed them how much everything would approximately cost. They were all very appreciative and I think they are all thinking it's more feasible now.
Also, the best news I think I've gotten--My friend from Germany is planning on coming to the wedding! I didn't think she would be able to because of the amount of money and travel, but it sounds like she's in! :yay:

(I'm leaving in 25 days! :woohoo:)
We made Cinderella's Royal Table dinner reservations, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservation and we're gonna spend the day at the Magic Kingdom.
I'm hoping I can find Rapunzel and Flynn and get an autograph from them  and also ride the Snow White ride before it goes bye-bye :guilty: and find some of those "just married" buttons. :rolleyes1:headache:

Oh! And I'm happy to share that I made my first official purchase towards our wedding! I ever-so-sneakily bought 3 of the DFTW David Tutera flower girl cones on sale from the Disney Store. They are even prettier than I imagined! I can't wait for my flower girls to see them!

I finally finished a DIY project! :rotfl:
I kept starting new ones and never finished previously started ones.
So without further ado, my unity candle set/holder!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/unitycandle.jpg
The candle holder came from the Disney Store, but it only held pillar candles. So I went out and bought the smallest taper holders I could find. (This was actually really hard!) The taper holders were glass so I had to E-6000 them onto the candle bases. Then the last step was I primed and spray painted the whole thing chocolate brown to match our colors.
This is going to be displayed at the alter in the wedding pavilion during our ceremony. I'm going to request some fresh orange floral to be put in the nooks of the candle holder to make it stand out more.
Onto the next project!
PS. GOOOOOO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!

So, yesterday marked 9 months!
I can't believe that they just keep rolling by!
So, I ordered a dress for my engagement photos at the Grand Floridian! It matches the accessories I was wanting to use and it has a "hidden mickey" on it. :goodvibes http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/redacc.jpg
Now, I just have to find a more casual outfit to wear at the Wilderness Lodge...but I'm sure that will be easier. :)
I also ordered a set of the earrings, necklace and bracelet I think I am going to give the bridesmaids as their present...just gotta see how they look in person. :thumbsup2
That's about it for now, I haven't really done too much wedding related stuff this week. I'm really just in a bit of a funk. :guilty: I think it's the weather. :confused3 Goodnight, all!

So, my Valentine's Day present this year was a trip and dinner date to Ikea!!! (We promised no big gift exchanges to help save money) So this was a cute and perfect little outing for us. :lovestruc
Chris and I walked through the maze of amazing furniture and home accessories while making a small list of potential things we would like to buy. :lmao: We got towards the end and decided to eat our dinner before we started to fill our cart. Of course, you can't go to Ikea without eating the Swedish meatballs!!!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/0215011608.jpg
They were so good! I am craving some right now.
After that, we went downstairs and I found some items that I could use for the wedding!!! I got all these candles and the glass holders (and actually more that aren't in the picture) for under $10!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/_MG_3222.jpg
I thought the orange tealights were a nice alternative to just regular white ones. So there will be 3 or 4 (however many open flames you are allowed to have at each table...) placed at our reception tables. And I think the part I am most excited about is how compact they become when stored!
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/_MG_3227.jpg
We're getting really worried with all the items we have to ship / take with us on the plane...so the fact that they fit back in the tube packaging with the candles in them makes me so happy!
On another wedding note, I think I've decided I want to wear a feather in my hair... :cutie:
Hope everyone else had a great Valentine's Day!

Ok, so this past weekend has been a mixture of wedding planning and emotions!
I wanted to post more recently, but I got into another little funk :headache: I'm trying so hard not to pull a bridezilla moment, especially since we still have 8 months and some odd weeks to go, but...Friday I got the 1 set of bridesmaids jewelry I ordered, to test to see if I liked them or not. OHMYGOODNESS, they are bad! I wanted so much to love them (they were a mix of pearls and rhinestones, which I want them to wear), but they are unbearably chunky! (I honestly thought they were going to be around the same size as real pearls...like 8 - 10 mm, not 50! :rotfl2:) I even sent a picture to one of my bridesmaids to show her and I quote, "Oh my god, Danni! PLEASE don't make me wear that! They are horrible and remind me of Wilma Flintstone."
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
To remind everyone what Wilma's style is:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/58928-wilma_flintstone.jpg
And the jewelry that upset me:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/Photoon2011-02-18at2032.jpg
Which now, looking back, I find this extremely funny. But at the moment, it was a breaking point for me. I cried; (stupid, I know), but I just want to please everyone so bad! Oh well, onto a new search!
Next, I started figuring out music for our ceremony and cocktail hour. What I can share with you so far:
Ceremony:
Processional
-"Married Life" (Bridesmaids enter)
-"Cinderella at the Palace" (Flowergirls enter)
Bride's Processional
-"Here Comes the Bride"
HA, as you can see, I've gotten really far on that one... :rotfl: I will edit this when I figure out more.
Also, I have decided for the cocktail hour to play all 20's/30's swing and jazz music to set the tone. I figure it will ease everyone into Atlantic Dance Hall and then later I will change the music to a wider variety.
But I found this awesome CD of music (thanks to Facebook ) that I am purchasing:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/disneyJazz.jpg
Yes, you read correctly, Disney Jazz! There's a preview of all the songs on iTunes...they're really awesome. Sexy and sultry even, but that is just my love of Jazz talking also. :goodvibes So I thought that CD of music mixed with authentic jazz and swing songs would be great for the cocktail hour. :thumbsup2 I'm excited!
Lastly, I started to design our name cards! Chris and I collaborated on this; he designed the overall look and then I made them real. Here's a pic, sorry taken on my cell phone:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/0222011703.jpg
We really like the design and the size, but we think we want to change the paper color. :confused3 I really don't know. The black on white makes it easy to read, especially in what will be lower-light conditions, but colored paper would tie into our theme. :rotfl: More silly things!
Phew, that was my all-around wedding update! I feel a little better now that I got that off my chest.

Hey, I totally understand you getting upset about the jewelry! I hope you find something you like a bit better. I cried the other day because I tried to wear earrings again and it didn't work (I have some sort of problem with my ears and haven't been able to wear them for a few years) and I broke down because I was upset that I wouldn't be able to wear earrings for my wedding. I just try to tell myself there are much worse things in life, but it's hard!
Your name signs are gorgeous. And that sounds like the coolest CD! I want it now, not for my wedding or anything but just to listen to! Great find! :thumbsup2

I understand about the jewelry, too. The idea is nice, but I agree that the size is just too big. They are pretty, but a little overwhelming. I'd have probably had a panic attack on top of crying.
I did the same thing months ago over the earrings I thought I wanted to wear myself. I even bought a pair for each of my girls in silver to match. I quadruple-checked the measurement before I bought them, and when they arrived (big shock), they were over twice the size the listing had posted. I freaked. :scared1:

Totally understand about the jewelry!! Everyone goes through it at some part of the wedding planning process.
Those pearls are pretty big. Depending on your budget, I found some really awesome bracelets on etsy that mixed pearl and rhinestones. I can find them for you, they are on some page of my pj. I was considering getting them :)
And I like your name signs!! :goodvibes

Great find! :thumbsup2
Aw no!!! That's so upsetting about your earrings :guilty: But yes, I agree, there are worse things in life and we have it pretty good compared to others.
I freaked. :scared1:
Haha, yes! I panicked and cried all at once. Thanks for listening :goodvibes:hug:

Ughh, I don't want to experience this kind of freakout again during the planning process. :rotfl: I checked out your pj, thanks for the leads!
Thank you ladies for reading, caring and consoling me  It's greatly appreciated.

I totally just stole this from you. I hope you don't mind! For my bachelorette party we are drinking around the world then going to Jellyrolls. My MOH is making a passport and this is perfect. Thanks!

I adore your name cards! If you want to incorporate some of your wedding colors, maybe you could mount them on some colored cardstock... I don't think that would take away from the overall design of them, and they would still be easy to read. Hope everything works out with the bridesmaid jewelry! (At least you got to make a Flintstones reference, that's always fun :) )

Aww don't fret friend:hug: Everything will be ok. Do you have a budget for the jewelry? I got all my girls pearl necklace and earring sets from sammoon.com. They are excellent quality and get this $3.50 each set! Check it out they've got some good stuff. I love your selection for music we are using lots of Frank and Dean Martin for our cocktail hour :). Your cards look great very Art Deco:thumbsup2

So, I am leaving for my spur-of-the-moment/birthday surprise for my niece/Spring break trip tomorrow! I am flying into Tampa and then heading to Disney on Thursday. I am trying to convince the family to stay an extra day on Friday to take advantage of the Flower and Garden Festival, but my parents are not too keen on the idea. :confused3 Anyways, I'm so pumped for the weather! I can't wait to feel the sun for a few days. :sunny:
I will most likely update on Sunday when I have returned!
Take care, everyone!

Hi everyone! :goodvibes
I have returned from fabulously warm Florida...and I miss it already. (Good thing there's only 65 more days until my next trip!)
We had such a great time at Disney, but it was a LONG day. Here's my mini trip report:
We traveled from Bradenton (About 2 hours west of Orlando) so we had to get up at 6am...left by 7 to get to Downtown Disney by 9 for my niece's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment a little after 9! It was SO worth it, in my opinion. We've been planning on taking her for about 3 years now for her 5th birthday -- what a good age!

The birthday girl all done!!! So cute.
By this time it was about 10:30 and we headed over towards Magic Kingdom where we stayed until close.

Eating her birthday dessert!
We had a blast watching her all day. She even kept thanking us over and over (and started planning for next years birthday!) But we told her she'd be back in just about 8 months for my wedding where she gets to be a princess again. So she's excited for that.
I did have a little anxiety during the day, which made me very nervous for the wedding. My brother, who has never been to Disney before, just kept BASHING the place I love. He critiqued the food (saying it sucked ), saying the rides and everything were fake, cussed in front of families with children :scared1:, and basically just ruined the magic in front of his own daughter . This really got me peeved...and stressed me out. I started telling my parents later, how am I ever going to make group activities at my wedding go smoothly without him acting like a stick in the mud :confused3 . They told me not to worry and that they'll talk to him, but he really should realize he shouldn't do this type of stuff in public (especially since there are all types of people that can easily get offended). SIGH.

Oh, I am so jealous, this makes me excited for my trip :) Don't worry too much about your brother, let him spoil his own time, you all can have fun around him. I don't know why some people have that anti Disney attitude, you just have to ignore it, the day will be about you and DF and that's all that matters, sending good vibes your way dear :goodvibes

Your niece is too cute!! And hopefully your parents can talk some sense into him - I mean, aside from him just being a downer, it's just really inappropriate to cuss in front of children. I know some people don't think it's that big a deal, but to me it is and I would hope it is to him as well with his own young daughter! But if he continues you'll just have to ignore him and know that so many other people are loving the Disney magic!

I'm really excited--I've been working on this for the past 3 days and I think I finally have our food items! Of course, we still have our tasting in 2 months time, so that may eliminate some things, but at least I know what I want to try for the tasting!
Here we go!:
Hors d'Oeuvres for Cocktail Hour:
-Assorted Cheese and Fruit Platters
Reception Buffet:
-Smokey Portobello Soup (recipe from Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge)
-Build-Your-Own Salad Station
-Mickey-roni & Cheese
-Mashed Potato Martini Bar with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and Sweet Potatoes
-Seasonal Vegetable Medley
-Roasted Chicken with Applewood Bacon, Caramelized Shallots, Apple and Cabernet Reduction (from “Down by the Sea with Ariel” menu)
-Beef Tenderloin with Tomato Hollandaise Sauce (recipe from Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom)
-Sauteed Potato Gnocchi with Grilled Eggplant, Cherry Tomatoes, Pesto Broth, and Parmesan Cheese (recipe from Le Cellier – Canada, EPCOT)
-Rolls & Butter
Desserts:
-Wedding Cake (Lemon Cake with Raspberry filling and Orange Cake with Orange filling)
(Modified “Main Street Dessert Buffet” menu)
-Fresh Fruit Display with Biscotti and Warm Chocolate Ganache
-Warm Chocolate Banana Torte with Rum Glaze
-Petit Chocolate Bottom Cheesecakes
-Chocolate Covered Pretzels
-Lemonade, Milk, Hot Chocolate
-Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, and Selection of Teas with Flavored Syrups and Sticks, Sugars, Cream, and Honey
Phew! That's a lot of food! :rotfl: But I'm a HUGE Disney foodie...so I had to have some of my favorites. I might add some additional non-chocolate desserts to the dessert party menu, because we have some chocolate haters! But everything else seems pretty solid. What do you all think? Are you getting hungry? ;)

I haven't posted in almost 3 weeks :confused3, but I meant to! The list keeps growing and breathing becomes harder
Just to catch everyone up to speed:
We've decided to have 2 wedding showers. One in Pennsylvania (tentatively in September) and the other in Massachusetts (tentatively in October). It's also going to be a couples shower versus just a bridal shower for me. I still have a ton of family and friends in PA that haven't met Chris, so I feel like if we're asking them to come to the wedding, then they should at least be able to meet him beforehand! And hopefully splitting the guest list by locations will make it easier for them to travel to one over the other. I asked my 2 MOHs if they would play hostess (there's one MOH in each location, score! haha) and they agreed and are really excited. Of course it's going to be Disney themed, but we can't decide what. I'm making collages of ideas for my girls and they can decide. So far I've made an Alice in Wonderland, Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Little Mermaid, and Lady and the Tramp collage. So it could be anything!
We're also getting closer to the finish-line with our invitations. Larissa from MOYA LARA :: Exquisite Wedding Invitations uploaded a new preview with our enclosure cards and they look gorgeous! I can't wait to see the invites in person!
Also, our planning session trip is in 40 days! I'm getting SO excited. (But again, also a little stressed...haha) I have to remember to send back the packet to my planner and finish paying off our hair and photo vendors in just a couple of weeks!
I feel like I had a lot more to share, but of course all I can think of is having a nice cup of orange juice  You all can see where my priorities are...
OH! I do remember what else--We had to shorten the length of our wedding trip in November :guilty: Due to Chris' new job position, he can't take off more than a week. His managers were like, "You're lucky you are getting a week off during our busiest time, because we really shouldn't be giving you anytime off." Um, hello?! The man is getting married...and we've had this planned for a while now. Sheesh. So right now I'm reworking the park schedules and restaurants. We also had to move our bridal park shoot. Hopefully everything will work out. (However, there is one good thing about the shorter stay...we get to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the whole trip! We were going to downgrade halfway through, but now we get to stay deluxe the whole time! :lovestruc:bride:) And due to the limited time off, we had to push our honeymoon back too, but I'm not too worried about it. I've decided it might be relaxing to go in the middle of January, after the holidays have settled and when it's cold up here...that way I can be warm somewhere in the tropics! :upsidedow
:flower3:

Ack! We're 7 months out from the wedding! :scared1::woohoo::laughing:
So, this past weekend I finished the planning kit and menu checklist and sent them back! It was pretty wild seeing how the wedding day was going to be, all laid out on paper like that. ;)
Here's what we've chosen for songs...but of course, these could change! Haha.
Prelude/Guest Seating (4-5 songs): “Romanza”, “Adagio”, “Air”, “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes”
Grandparents & Parents (1 song): “Youʼll Be In My Heart” from Tarzan
Officiant/Groom/Groomsmen (1 song):
Bridesmaids (1 song): “Married Life” from UP
Flowergirls (1 song): “Cinderella at the Palace”
Bride (1 song): “Traditional Bridal Processional”
Unity Candle/Sand Ceremony (1 song): “I See the Light” from Tangled
Recessional (1-2 songs): “When You Wish Upon a Star”
We also narrowed down that MOH Melanie and BM Brendan are going to be giving the speeches at the reception. I had asked our other MOH and BM, but they both are uncomfortable with public speaking. So, the other 2 volunteered and I'm excited that everyone gets to participate in something meaningful yet be comfortable at the same time.
Also, 1 month from now exactly I will be in the Wilderness Lodge with my parents and Chris and his parents for our planning session trip! I'm SO excited. I still have to pick out another outfit for me to wear for our engagement pictures...and I don't even wanna think about Chris' wardrobe, because I haven't! Hahah. :rotfl: I also started to assemble pictures and swatches and all sorts of visuals for our planner into a binder...so hopefully this will make things a little easier.
And...what I'm really excited for at the moment...our invitations are in the final drafting stages and should be in production soon! I can't wait to see them in person. They're going to be beautiful. :lovestruc
I'm pretty sure I need to get the ball rolling though...I have to finish some other DIY...I'm probably going to sit down and finish our welcome packets. Yeah. That's what I'll do... :rolleyes1
Hope everyone has a great week. It feels like it's going to drag on... :headache:

I really love the vintage vibe that the sheaf bouquet gives off...I especially love the idea of adding some cascading pearl strands. :lovestruc But part of me thinks that I'll get kinda "weighed down" or overpowered by a large bouquet like that. I am a petite girl so I don't know what style would suffice. Suggestions?
Happy weekend, all! I'm gonna do a bigger post sometime next week--I'm off to a birthday party in New Hampshire now.

Hi Danielle!
I can't believe I had completely missed your pj! I have read everything so far and really just couldn't get enough. Everything is coming together so nicely. :goodvibes your dress is gorgeous and so are the bm dresses, I think it is very neat that the tops match. Lol I also
love your colors and your unity candle... & I really love those centerpieces your thinking about!! Okay so I love everything! :lovestruc

Woot woot!!! I'm starting to feel the pressure. Are you too, Amber?
Ummm.... YES..... :scared1: The months are going by so quickly!! I thought I was ahead of the game... but I wrote a list the other day and I kinda panicked a little bit!!! Ahhh!!! :D
I love the idea of the arm bouquet!! That is very unique! Honestly I have never seen one like that before!! It does look very vintage! I am sure you could work out something with the florist so it wasn't too heavy, and I guess it would depend on the type of flower you used as welll! Love the second bouquet too!! I would vote for the first though just because it is such a wonderful idea!!

Haha, yes! I start to panic everyday! :lmao:
I am leaning more towards the arm bouquet...I feel like it still mimics the girls' bouquets but lets me stand out just a little more. ;)

So, I flew home for 3 days/4 nights and spent Easter weekend with my parents. (It was my first Easter home in 5 years, so it was fun!) The whole time seemed to be devoted to the wedding though, haha! :lmao: But it felt good to get some stuff checked off.
-I had made an "event saver" through AirTran Airways, so all our guests (and us ;) ) could save 10% off their flights. So, Chris and I booked our flights for November through them and got a great deal!
-My parents and grandparents have their flights booked too--at least someone's coming to the wedding! :rotfl:
-We also gave in the last of the measurements for the bridesmaids dresses and paid down half...so those are in progress!
-And, my mother found the dress she's going to wear!!! I'm really happy for her. She fought back and forth on colors, styles, lengths, all sorts of things really...but she felt the most comfortable and most beautiful in this:
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/zoom-J1116.jpg
http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/dseymourphoto/detail1-J1116b.jpg
It's a little more bronze-y/copper-y in person, so I think it'll look nice against the chocolate-color that we're using in the wedding. Also, it is a discontinued style, so she's just buying the sample from the bridal salon...which means we saved 25% off the dress and got 10% off her shoes. :woohoo: Not too bad for a whole ladies ensemble.
I'm pretty sure the next thing we're going to do is book our rooms! :yay: I'll get back to you when we do!

Your mom's dress is gorgeous! I love it... I still have to get my mom to buy a dress. She doesn't really like wearing anything fancy, so she's been dragging her feet a bit.
And yay for the flights! I'm still searching for a good deal when I go down to Orlando in July... it's peak season so no luck yet and I don't want to wait too long!

Thanks, everyone! I'm so happy for my Mommy. She never treats herself to nice clothes or pampers herself, so I'm looking forward to her feeling and looking great. :)
Just finished watching the royal wedding...how beautiful! :lovestruc but now I'm ready for a royal nap :rotfl:

Hello! I am going to WDW for R&R on June 5...my boyfriend and I are planning to drink around the world...since I am currently in Afghanistan....(without a MICHAEL's UGH---well, and without ANYTHING) I am unable to do all the things I would have LOVED to do to plan for this trip...well, I am wondering...would you be willing to email me your Drinking around the world notecard template? If not I understand, but I had to ask, as they are too cute and i would love to have those for us. (I already ordered T-shirts for he and I to wear) lol
Anyway, thanks....and HAPPY PLANNING! :)

So, I'm feeling kinda like this today -> :sad1:
And it really sucks because I want to tell you guys so I can get this stuff of my chest, but I've been sworn to secrecy until further notice. But I can tell you that I'm physically fine, so is Chris. I'm just depressed and didn't need this crap right now. (I know, still vague.)
But I guess I was just hoping you guys could help out and send a little love my way? I'd really appreciate it. Some comforting words, even. :confused3
And in other non-wedding related news...
Here's a fun picture of me and my Disney Store cast at the Walk for Hunger (20 miles) from this past Sunday (We raised over $500!):

I will be in the Orlando airport 24 hours from now!!! :woohoo: We are finally heading down for our planning session (I really can't believe it.) Because, tomorrow marks our 6 month out mark.
So, I'm not feeling too prepared...and that's a little worrisome. I'm trying to print out as many pictures to support my vision at the planning session because I really don't wanna take my computer to Disney. (Too much luggage going with us already!) So I'm frantic about that. It's also hard because I haven't actually decided what kind of decor I want!
I've also gotta finish packing...I have my engagement photo clothing so far and accessories, but I gotta pack a few more things...Oh, and toiletries, can't forget those!!! While Chris on the other hand, hasn't started packing at all. Grrrrrr.
So I will be back on here about Saturday to post a mini trip report! Adios!
