Ok so I do have another part to this trip report.. it’s the bloopers part! I not once, but 4 times got my feet stepped on my matt, he didn’t even know he was crushing my feet other then the fact that I was trying to shove him off my toes! And I also umm smacked my nose into one of the walls in the pirate caves—yes that was fun and funny too! And I umm threw my head to far back on golden zephyr and smacked my head on the seat(those seat backs come up really high!)….that’s a good impression to make on your date! And I stubbed my toe on a crack, and tripped once while walking --i don't remember where it was though!

I looked at the Plaza to stay at for my trip but I found the Quality Inn for a better price so we'll see how that is in 15 days!

Not yet but I will for our upcoming Thanksgiving visit! I'm not too worried ~ I drove to Seattle a couple years ago and twice this year I've driven to the bottom of UT/top of AZ - but I'll be doing it after I put in 6 hours at work - I plan to start those 6 hours at 6am! It'll be a long day.

Mapquest says 10 hours 55 min from my zip code to Anaheim.

I know lots of people from Utah drive. I just can't make myself do it. 6 hours is my breaking point. If it takes longer than 6 hours, we fly. I've been tempted to move that to 4 hours. My kids are troopers.....they are WONDERFUL passengers while driving. We make many, MANY 6 hour trips from Utah to Montana every year and drive. They handle it well. However, if I'm going to Disney.....I just want to be there.....and the drive would just be too much for me.

As it stands, we can leave home at x time and be in the park at x plus 3 hours time. Granted that takes into consideration the time change but really.....leaving home at 3 and being in Disneyland by 6-7......what's to be beat????? Let me know how the drive goes. Maybe I'll change my tune and save a few bucks. :)

So how exactly do you do that? Was it on the boats?

Still Day 1 the Arrival Day.

Even though the parks had closed at 8 I walked down the Esplanade. You may not know but my Disney trips for 20 years had alternated DL/WDW. I had never been to DTD at DLR. So we talked as I walked past the slow trickle of CM's going home. Checked out the tram loading/unloading area. Wandered down into DTD there where still a bunch of people by house of blues but that was about it. There were also some people dressed really nice going back to the Cast Shuttles so I guess somewhere they had a cast member formal. Every now and then I'd past a happy couple or group of youthful drunkards. Some CM's cleaing and Security wandering. I looked in some shop windows and could see people restocking.

That's cool! I'll have to do that the next time I'm down there. I've gone through in the morning when the guys are watering down the walkways, but never at night.

It's unfortunate that DLR wasn't set up like WDW where the parks have a way for people without bags to enter.

I've thought about that too! It would be so much faster and easier for a ton of people!!

When in college, I worked in Yellowstone for two summers. We would arrive in May with snow and leave in September with snow. Some of my best memories are from my two summers in Yellowstone. I have been to Wyoming, and it is very beautiful. Funball you will be floored by the natural rugged beauty that is Wyoming. I have a gorgeous picture of the Tetons hanging in my living room, which I cherish. Anyway back to the love story.....

Jackson Hole is BEAUTIFUL. We went on an Adventures by Disney tour there last summer. LOVED it!

Is Wyoming anything like Yosemite National Park or the Redwood forest in Santa Cruz (both in CA)? Trying to get an idea of the terrain.

I'd say no. The Redwoods are incredible for the trees. Yosemite is mostly waterfalls and rocks, no offense meant but it is my least favorite National Park and I've been to everyone in the west. I just find it boring and crowded. GTNP gets crowded too but mostly because most people visit the same 3 spots. Yellowstone is similar, most people go to a few places and it gets crowded in those few spots. Most visitors in these parks never get of the beaten path and the backcountry is incredible and quite often offers some rare solitude.


The Grand Tetons is extremely picturesque.. It has a variety of hiking from easy to difficult usually to a lake or waterfall. The views change often. It has a lot of wildlife. Lots of Bears and Moose, some elk, bison and antelope. Lots of eagles and Osprey. There is really good rock climbing for those who are into the sport. Also rafting gentle and white water. The Town of Jackson offers a lot of shopping and dining plus other activities. It also has a lot of hotels.


Yellowstone is more about diversity. It has some mountain areas, a colorful large canyon with waterfalls. Many specatacular hot spring and geysers, for the record I avoid old faithful most the time. Incredible lodges, they aren't plush to stay in but nice to see. The wildlife is spectacular. Seeing bears and wolfs is rare, about 1/1000 visitors see one or the other. But only on rare unlucky visits will you not see Bison just off the road or in large heards. Lots of Elk and in some spots Mountain Goats. Lots of hiking.

That was the beauty of working in Yellowstone NP. At the time I worked at Yellowstone, it was mostly college kids from all over the US that worked there (today it is mostly foreign students), and we would go hiking on our time off or days off. Most trails we choose were almost over grown, since very few tourists would travel on them. Got to see lots of wildlife like moose. elk and, one time, a porcupine. The animals didn't seemed to be bothered by us hikers. I think it was because they didn't see hikers very often. Lots of the employees climbed the Grand Tetons (I didn't). It was an eventful accomplishment. BTW, I worked at the Old Faithful Station in the upper grocery store. The GCH reminds of the Old Faithful Lodge and I think that is why I love that hotel soo much.

I don't think Scandalous is the right word. It was really interesting to see how another single parent handles the park. I myself had taken my son to WDW for a week last Spring and to DLR for a few days the year before. The one thing I noticed is Laura's boy is a local and knows DL as well as anyone.

Plus thier relaxed attitude is just like when I ski with my son. We get there when we get there, and leave when we leave. And the whole time my son is telling me where to ski.

I was up in Yellowstone a couple weeks ago, since it was the end of the year I heard lots of staff saying good bye. Many foreigners talking about thier plans to travel here and there in the US before going home.

Also many telling others they were lucky to leave before the snow comes. Though it did snow right at the end of August but has since melted.

Is it near Big Sky? I love the gallatin river valley that's an excellent scenic drive. I've stayed in West a few times. I had a good high school friend who married a girl who's grandparents had a cabin. It wasn't too big, but no kidding, slept 20 something.

It is in fact near Big Sky. Instead of turning off 191 to head up into Big Sky, you continue heading North about 10 miles. It's right on the Gallatin River. We fell in love with the area as soon as we saw it. Absolutely beautiful!!! We can't sleep 20, although, we do have two cabins on the property. One is small and only sleeps two, the other is larger but we can only sleep 8 in that one.....unless you want to sleep on the couch or an inflatable mattress. ;) To sleep 20 would be a blast, though!!!!! I just don't think I could trade dangling my feet off the deck over the river for 20 people.

..I touched her hair. She had promised it was skin peircing and I had to check. More plyable than I had been told.;) But what was peircing is those stunning eyes of hers. They are truly incredible, I can still see those beauties now.

So for a few cycles it went long hug for a couple minutes, ease away and look at each other. Then after 3 or 4 times I gave Sara a light kiss. Then we held each other for a long while. I could feel her heart now and that it was going like a humming bird's. ...

i just want to say something..ok so this relantionship that matt and i have started sometime back in august.. i have to say that he is the best Pm message i ever answered that day, if i hand't we would not be here today doing this report. and i probably would of never even met him and i would of never had the best time ever at disneyland along with the best first date EVER.

I am so glad that all this has fallen together, i am so happy that fate took its course with us becuase matt you are the one person that makes me soo happy inside, and pushes me to do things i never would do, and i thank him for that! i have been such a happy person since i have know matt, and he has such a great heart and soul that i truly love so much!

Since we are neighbors, Matt if you ever want to carpool out to see Sara, well I have the perfect family vehicle. We have a DVD player for the kids, I pad, I touch, I laptop, so I can keep them happy. I use my tulle box for the luggage and fold down the 3rd row then put luggage there.

I am up for a trip to disney at a moment notice. Grab your son, I'll get mine and we can make a trip to see SARA! :yay:
