What is it with underwire bras?? After just a few washings the wire always comes out. Those thin plastic ones really hurt when they snap and poke you, too. I'm sitting here reading the DIS and I noticed that my underwire has worked its way out and is nearly poking me in the chin. This was an expensive bra, too! Grrrrrrr!

I usually hand wash mine, occasionally I cheat and use the washer but NEVER the dryer. (well DH has, but you can guess what those bras look like

OK i went to Victoria's Secret and they told me that you cant put bras in the dryer...this is the 1st i've heard of it but they just said to hang 'em dry which is a pain in the neck but better then a wire poking ya.

I hear ya'!Did you ever put one in the dryer and it came out malformed?Like the wire was tied in knots?Happened to my favorite bra, too.

I also have a gripe about not putting them in the dryer. If you DON'T put them in the dryer, they lose a little of their "pick up",if you know what I mean ;) .I have a hard time finding one with enough....um...oomph shall we say :bounce: :bounce: If anyone knows of a good "picker upper" in the "C" region, let me know,ok?

I don't buy them either even though it seems like 90% of bras have them.

Try washing them in a lingerie bag. The dryer is a definite no-no!

I haven't put one in the dryer in many years and I haven't had a wire pop out since I started line drying them. I do wash all mine on a very delicate cycle as well and they seem to be holding up much longer now in general.

Well, I never put them in the dryer, but I do wash them with the rest of the clothes. From now on, I will wash them seperately. Thanks for the tip. :)

I've been there done that, but now I either hand wash my bras or put them through the wash on a gentle cycle & never put them through the dryer or out in the sun. I hang them on a clothes airer inside.:p

How do we know Eros hasn't worn one??? ;) ;) ;)

I have to have an underwire. I haven't been without one is so long it feels really weird without it.

But, gentle cycle on cold water and line dry. Heat and bleach will tear them up.
Make sure you close the closure too. It can snag.

Does anyone have the problem of the wire poking you in the armpit?? so they work they their way out that way instead of the middle.
I hate it. but no choice. need support.

maybe i am just lucky...but most of my bras have underwires..and i have never had any trouble. I wash and dry them just like everything else.

Most of my bras are from VS....I love their new cotton bra..it is so soft and simple...

I just got over 150.00 worth of new bras's and panties...but they are all so comfortable..and matching..of course!

I don't worry about wires anymore and I don't wear them. I figure with the advancement of technology I can have Dr. J. ****y take care of what underwires didn't down the road. ;)
