I understand that Universal has a lot of areas for a kid to get wet in-What age are these geared for? My son will be 10 1/2 and am wondering if he will still be interested and if I should bring a change of clothes?

My son who is 11 loves the water rides there. His least favorite is Jurassic Park, and he loves Ripsaw Falls. You really get soaked on both Ripsaw Falls and the barges, so you should probably bring extra clothes unless you want to walk around wet all day.

Are they all rides or are there water "areas" to play in also? Like Nickelodeons Splash Zone which is at Universal in Hollywood? Will my 10 year old like the water play areas?

The three I mentioned are IOA rides, but there is an area at Toon Lagoon with a fountain that kids can play in, also in Seuss Landing, there is an interactive play area with water. There are also water play areas in USF.

There is also an area in Camp Jurassic where you can have some pretty good water wars. Over at USF, Curious George Playground is a great way to get soaked and have fun, this should definitely be a favorite of theirs. Plan for some water fun...

USF has Fivel's playland and the Curious George play area. Fivels has a wet area and Curious George is mostly wet with a nerf ball play area.
these areas draw as many grown-ups as kids so your 10-1/2 year old will have a blast :smooth:
