I love looking at photos of WDW and sometimes save some (usually from the Themepark Attractions & Strategies board) to my computer purely for my own enjoyment. However recently I've noticed that, although some pics look fine as a thumbnail, when I try to look at them full screen, they just show up as a thin line across the middle of the screen. I don't think it's to stop people downloading them as they're from people like me generally - amateur photographers who took pics on vacation. Does anyone know please why this happens and how I can get around it? Sometimes I can open them with Paint and save them in a different format but sometimes that's not possible either. Thank you.

It sounds like something is not working correctly in Windows. Try installing Irfanview and using it to view them. It is free and a really nice basic program for basic editing and viewing.

It sounds suspiciously like a virus I've come across before. I'd run some anti-virus and anti-malware scans just to be safe.

Just for the record... saving images to your hard drive, even for you own personal enjoyment, without permission is a violation of copyright laws. Many people who post are fine with you doing this, but there are some out there who get touchy.
