God morning, everyone.

Before I start Thursday's edition I have a couple of things to share with you. I'm going into a meeting at 11:00 and will then be leaving till Tuesday for some much needed quality time with DH. Because of a recent aquisition by my company I will be taking on some additional staff and will have to spend time getting to know them and to figure out how they will best fit into my exisiting staff. (For Pete's sake, I'm only an officer/manager. Heaven forbid I should have the opportunity to interview these people beforehand and decide up front if I think they'll work out or not) So, now that I acually have to work for a living for a little while my DIS time will be cut back severely. I hope I can get on once a day to at least respond to Deb's history post but it looks like I have my work cut our for me for the time being and I really won't have time to do this daily for awhile. Anyway, here goes.

In Turkey the color of mourning is purple. In most Muslim countries and in China it is white.

Kerimaki Church in Finland is the world's largest church made of wood.

Las Vegas has the most chapel, per capita, than any other U.S. city.

The smallest man ever was Gul Mohammed (1957-1997) of India who measured 1 foot 10 1/2 inches.

Clouds fly higher in the day than they do at night.

Dogs and cat consume over $11 billion worth of pet food a year.

Assuming Rudolph is in the front, ther are 40,320 ways to rearrange the other 8 reindeer.

On an average business day 9,500,000,000 minutes are spent on the phone.

The San Francisco Cable Cars are the only mobile National Monuments.

There are more than 10 million bricks in the Empire State Building.

Have a great day and a great holiday weekend. I'll try to do a quick pop-in after my meeting.

Kathy

(P.S. to A&HMom If you get stuck and need some info, PM me and I'll hook you up)

Thanks, Kathy:D . Don't be a stranger. I should wear Turkish purple today in mourning for the loss of two games to the Yankees:( :( .

As for the Cable Cars, unlike most tourists, I rode them constantly as a kid to get around the City:) :) ................

Don't you just hate when a pesky thing like work gets in the way of your on-line time! I do!

We'll miss you, Kath. I hope things work out well with the new staff.
