Yo Santa,
If your reading this please put this on the top of my Christmas wish list...

but only if I've been a good boy...
Thanks,

*Sigh*. You mean that Santa really exists and checks the DisBoards??
Oh D&$m! I've just finished telling a few people on the games board that....
Like Santa, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, I do not believe that the Tag Fairy exists. It must be a Moderator in Drag.
If Santa really does exist, I'm in BIG trouble with that little TF!
ps. If Santa is checking this post, I would like DH to get a Canon dSLR (preferably a 5DMII, otherwise I'm happy to settle for the rumoured new D60; with a 17-55 f/2.8 lens) of his own for Christmas; so that he keeps his hands off mine!
And I haven't been good....but I've been good at it! :)

D60 isn't a rumor, canon released the specs on it.

It's a big list for Santa this year, but in fairness I've been a pretty good boy:
Canon 8-15mm f/4L
Canon EF Extender 1.4x III
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM L IS macro
I better get to work on some cookies for the dear man.:thumbsup2

Ditto for me mom2rtk .... last year Santa just kinda skipped my house. Guess I'm not just not being a good enough girl ... or it could have something to do with the fact that I have no significant other who can pass along my wish list to Santa.

Santa brings Canons to good boys and girls. Only the bad ones get Nikons.
Though Santa usually stiffs me. The Birthday Fairy, now that's a different story. Of course my birthday happens to coincide with when we usually get our tax refund.

I want plenty of things, most of them unrealistic. But I might just have an outside shot at one of these: http://www.promotesystems.com/products/Promote-Control.html
Seems like it would rock when bracketing for HDR.

Christmas isn't a big time for getting camera gear around here. Christmas is when the kids get their wishes fulfilled. The grownups wait until Spring bonus season.
That said, I do have a wish list. I keep it on B&H. I use it to just keep track of the things I might be interested in getting. Here's what's on it right now:
Sanho Hyperdrive Album (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=WishList.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=683413&is=REG) - No more taking a laptop on trips just to copy pictures off of memory cards.
Canon 17mm Tilt/Shift lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=WishList.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=606803&is=GREY) - For those times when a 24mm isn't wide enough. Honestly, after using the 24mm for a while, I'm starting to think that I'd prefer the 45mm or 90mm TS lenses rather than the 17mm.
Canon 24mm f/1.4 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=WishList.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=590449&is=GREY) - Doing some star shots over the summer got me interested in wide fast lenses. It not a combination that I'm usually interested in. I tend to like medium/long fast lenses or wide lenses with little concern for speed. Given how few use cases I have come across since then, I probably won't spend the money.
Canon 14mm f/2.8 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=WishList.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=519474&is=GREY) - I've been working on my wider shots. For years, my widest lens was a 17mm-40mm (on FF) zoom. I'd like to go wider. I recently got a Sigma 12mm-24mm, but I was pretty disappointed with the IQ. Would it be worth it to lose 2mm, gain a stop, and gain much better IQ, all at the cost of about $1,600? Probably not, but I'll consider it. Another route that I'm consider is an adapter and a Nikon 14mm-24mm. That would mean manual focus, but for super wide stuff I'm usually on a tripod anyway.
As for camera bodies, I'm waiting for Canon to announce another FF camera. My foray back into the APS-C world with the 7D has convinced me that I'm better off sticking with FF.
I also want a couple more speedlights, but I'm in no big hurry. If Canon announces a successor to the 580, I may do something then.

Very interesting, Mark.
I've done some reading on Astrophotography recently. Were you happy with your results?

No, but then I'm almost never happy with my results. I learned a lot for next time, though.

I have been good, but the budget hasn't, so if Santa is listening:
Pentax K5 (if it lives up to the rumored low light AF and high ISO ratings)
Sigma 30mm f1.4
Sigma 10-20mm f3.5
Fairly modest requests!:rotfl2:

Must resist the pull to spend money as I head to my camera shop today to get my sensor cleaned.......
This could be dangerous......

Canon 14mm f/2.8 (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=WishList.jsp&A=details&Q=&sku=519474&is=GREY) - I've been working on my wider shots.
I've used this lens (the mark II version) a couple of times and have been very happy with it (minimal distortion, nice color contrast, only slight CA wide open, and very sharp corner to corner at f/4 up). However, I think it is extremely overpriced. I'm hoping that Canon has an answer to the Nikkor 14-24 next week at Photokina. If so, that will be my Christmas list (assuming it rivals the IQ of the Nikkor).
