Hello all :wave2:...I thought it might be about time to make a start on my own PJ before its too late! :worried:
Ive spent so long reading everyone elses that time has gotten away from me and now we've got less than 6 months until we start our happily ever after! :)
So, here's a little about us...
First of all, I'm Kat, 26 and work in customer service. DF is Paul, 25, and he works in car insurance.
This is us! (YAY I finally figured out how to post pics! There's no stopping me now!! :woohoo:)
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Kat%20and%20Paul/katandpaul.jpg
DF doesnt normally have such short hair but he decided to cut if all off...Im not a huge fan but dont tell him! haha!
We met 7 1/2 years ago at a local night club called Jumpin Jaks. I was 19 and DF was 18. It was a busy Saturday night in April and I was dancing away with my friends and having a great time :dance3: DF was heading to the bar and he put his hands on my hips as he squeezed past me, surprised, I stepped back, right onto his foot in my 4inch heels! I felt bad and apologised and he continued on his way to the bar. I told my friends then and there that he was 'the one' :lovestruc and I guess I was right! I kept my eyes on him throughout the night (and he kept his on me!) We swapped numbers and I saw him almost every weekend after that. 5 months later he finally worked up the courage to ask me out. I remember him giving me a long speech and telling me that he might not be the best boyfriend but to bear with him (just for the record I think he's the greatest!!) We've been inseperable ever since!
The proposal...
In Sept 2007 DF and I and my family (mum, dad, sister, brother in law, baby niece, aunt and uncle) went to Florida. We were staying at Disney's Old Key West Resort for a few days before heading to the coast and that morning we made our way to Typhoon Lagoon. We had a geat day and DF spent the whole time trying to convince me to go to MK that evening to see Wishes. Im not a huge fan of fireworks (too loud for my liking!!) but DF was adamant he wanted to go. I moaned about it all day to my mum and sister (little did I know what he had planned!) With a little, ok, A LOT of persuasion from my mum, sister and DF I eventually agreed to go.
We got dropped off at MK in the early afternoon (DF and I were both too young to drive a hire car at the time so we were chauffeured around everywhere by my fabulous parents! :thumbsup2) We did a few of the rides and had some dinner. We did a spot of shopping in the Christmas shop and then found a place to sit and watch the parade. When that was over we headed round to the front of Cinderellas Castle to see Wishes...it was soooo busy!! First of all we were just standing in the middle of a huge crowd but then I spotted a little hideaway just big enough for two, so, I took DF's hand and led him over. There wasnt a huge amount of room so DF stood behind me with his arms around me. The fireworks were great and as it was nearing the end DF whispered 'Can you hear me?' I said 'Yes' and then he said the 4 little words every girl wants to hear...'Will you marry me?' Now, at this moment you'd of thought I'd of burst out crying, threw my arms around him and said yes Yes YES!! But unfortunately for DF I said 'Dont joke!!' (and then went back to watching the fireworks!) You see, my unfortunate response was because, by this point in our relationship we'd been together 4years and were in the process of buying our first house together. I knew DF was 'the one' from the moment I first met him and had been desperate to marry him ever since but he was adamant he had to get all his ducks in a row first. Which meant moving in together BEFORE we got engaged and that wasnt due to happen for another 6 months so I thought he was just messing around. Of course, when the most beautiful, sparkly ring appeared over my shoulder I soon realised he wasnt joking! Of course then I said yes! ::yes:: Unfortunatley the ring was too small (he severely underestimated the size of my sausage fingers!!) so I couldnt put the ring on but I wouldnt put the box down and my face hurt so much from all the smiling :goodvibes I didnt cry (much to DFs disappointment) but I threw my arms around him and couldnt stop kissing him!! I was the happeist girl in the world right then!]
Here's a pic of my ring...I dont seem to have a close up one of me wearing it (I dont think I took one as I insisted on showing it to everyone in person! haha!) so I downloaded this from the website!

DF thought that now he had proposed he'd get a bit of a break before I'd want to start planning and set a date...well, he thought wrong!! :)
We're planning our Wishes wedding for 8th March 2011...I'm super excited...and with less than 6 months until our magical day I really need to get a move on with the planning!! :)

So poor old Paul thought he'd have plenty of time before I'd want to really get down to planning but just a few days after the proposal we were at Francks getting more info about having a DFTW :) I even took him for a sneek peek around the WP. It's beautiful without a doubt but I knew straight away that it wasn't right for us, and DF agreed.
We knew we wouldnt be having a big wedding, not like we would if we'd got married back here in the UK (theres no way ALL our friends and family would be able to fly to Florida) so we decided to go for somewhere a bit smaller and that's why we chose the wedding gazebo at the YC! Its beautiful and takes advantage of the fabulous Florida weather too and coming from the UK, we need some of that gloriously warm, sunny weather!!
Unlucky for me though DF just would not agree to have a Disney wedding until we had spoken to everyone at home to make sure the really important people could make it! And worse still he said we'd have a lot of saving to do so we couldnt get married until 2011!!! And that seemed like forever away!! :guilty:
Fast forward 3 years and a few days and here we are...with just under 6 months to go to our special day! I still get all giddy with excitement when I realise that in just 176 days and 55mins I will be Mrs Greenaway!! :goodvibes
Earlier this year I flew to Florida with DF and my parents to buy my wedding dress and to meet with Michelle from DFTW at Francks to decide what venues we wanted to use! :yay:
This is a picture of me, DF, my mum and dad whilst in Florida
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/DSC02463_edited-1.jpg
We almost didnt make it to Florida though. We were just a few weeks from flying when the airports closed down due to the volcanic ash in the air space. We started off thinking 'we've got loads of time for it to clear, it'll be fine!' But as it got closer to our flight date we started to worry! On the Sunday before we were due to fly I went shopping with my mum and dad as DF was away on a boys boat trip and we had pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact we weren't going. We were so sad! :sad1: On the Tues at work I told my boss I'd probably be in on the Thurs (flight day) but I had booked the Wed off as were we doing twilight check in and staying at the Hilton and had decided to still have the day off (just incase!) On Tues night DF and I were sitting at home, he was on the internet and I was watching tv and he said to me 'they're opening uk airspace tomorrow' It was all over the news so I called my dad. No one wanted to get their hopes up and he said 'we'll just see what they say tomorrow'. Soooo...just incase I wrote a list of what I needed to pack as I'd be doing it very last minute! DF was working the next day so off he went and I waited for 'the call' from my dad. We got so lucky as we had one of the first flights out of the uk! I think it made us enjoy the trip even more because we were so close to not going!!
Here's a picture of us celebrating at the Hilton on the Wed night!! All checked in and ready to go! :goodvibes

Meeting with Michelle was great...she was so nice and had loads of ideas! We'd already decided we wanted to get married at the wedding gazebo at the YC and until late 2009 we wanted to have our reception at AG, but imagine my surprise (and disappointment) when I read on the DFTW website that it was only avaliable as a reception location until Sept 2010! :sad1: I was totally thrown...I'd set my heart on it and now I had to pick somewhere else! I spent hours going through all the wedding blogs and reading up on possible locations but I still couldnt narrow it down! But when we met with Michelle she made my day when she suggested it as a reception location!!:woohoo: (Can I seriously be this lucky?!) She explained that they were still going to be able to use it as a reception location...it was music to my ears! We'd never actually seen inside AG before so Michelle took us over and from the minute we walked inside we were sold! For those of you that havent seen AG before, here are some (not so great) pics!!
This is the dance floor

This is where we will have our pre reception
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/DSC02108.jpg
And this is where our roman table will go (but it's going across the picture not top to bottom if that makes sense?!)
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/DSC02104.jpg
I dont think the pictures really do it justice but its a beautiful room and we are so excited we get to use it!! :goodvibes
Here's a copy of the floor plan. It gives you a much clearer view of the room and you can see how we will be using it!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/floorplan.jpg
It did, however, cause us to completely change the theme of our wedding! I'd wanted a real fairytale theme for the wedding, candalarbras with flowing pink and purple flowers, crystals and candles but after seeing those amazing fish lights hanging from the ceiling (and some under the sea themed centre pieces at Francks!) we decided to change the theme to Under the Sea. That meant changing colours (now cornflower blue and green) and everything else too! Nothing like shaking things up a bit though eh?!
:)
Next time...dress shopping!!

Congrats and welcome! I started my PJ late as well but I think it's great to get the less used locations out there no matter where you are in the planning process.
Do you have your dress yet? Sorry if I am jumping ahead! :)

So, while we were in Florida in April this year I made a trip to Davids Bridal with my mum to find THE dress!! :goodvibes
Believe it or not it actually works out better/cheaper for us to have a 2 week holiday and buy my dress in Florida than it does to buy it at home!
We got my sisters dress at Davids Bridal when we were in America a few years earlier and ever since DF and I had got engaged, my mum and I had planned on going back there to get mine. Originally we were going to go to Minnesota to buy my dress as my mum travels there for work but in the end we decided to go to Florida as then we could meet with Disney at the same time!! :) And get a holiday too of course!!
So off me and mum went to our early morning appointment with Alix at Davids. She was so nice and helpful. I showed her the dress I wanted (or at least thought I wanted!) it was a beautiful strapless dress with a dropped waist. Not many sparkles but beautiful none the less! Alix humoured me and let me try it on and...omg...it looked sooo awful on me!! Luckily for me though Alix was amazing and straight away bought out some strapless, pick up skirt dresses. The first couple were lovely, but mum hadnt cried yet so I knew they werent quite right!! I tried on the next dress (which ended up being the one, I just didnt realise it at the time!) and it was beautiful, mum got all teary and started taking pictures...before I knew what had happened I had a veil on (I wasnt planning on having a veil!) and I had jewellery and shoes too! I looked down and thought 'this is way too sparkly!' but everyone disagreed, even just random shoppers! But I insisted on trying on some others just incase! But with each dress I tried on the dress I thought was way too sparkly just kept coming back to me so after trying on 3 others I went back and tried it again but this time I looked in the mirror properly...it wasnt half as sparkly as I thought it was (you see when I look down sparkles is all I can see but when you look in the mirror there's not that much at all!!) We all agreed that this was 'my princess dress' and totally perfect for a DFTW and dad was called in to see it (dad paid so he had to get the final say!) Dad got teary too so I knew it was a winner! :thumbsup2
Davids Bridal is so amazing. Not only are the assistants super friendly and helpful but you can get everything there! Just a few hours after we first went in, out we came having bought the dress, jewellery, veil, tiara and underwear. We had to leave the dress there for some alterations (it was slightly too small so I had a corset back put in and had it taken up too) and we collected it just a few days before we had to fly home. They did a great job and packed it all away into the smallest box! Ive no idea how they did it and I'm quite worried about how on earth we are going to get it back in the box when we fly back over for the wedding!!

Thank you!! I totally agree with you!! I just actually posted about my dress...I wanted to post some pics but for some reason I cant :sad1: so hopefully when I get the problem fixed (whatever the problem may be) I'll get some pics posted for everyone!!

So when we got back to the UK in May everything moved along pretty quickly! We got our LOA from Michelle pretty quickly and we sent it back just as fast!! And when the date was all confirmed we could finally move on to the fun stuff...save the dates, invites, favours etc :goodvibes
We actually sent save the date DVD's out to everyone in Nov 2009. DF loves making videos and normally makes a fair few throughout the year so it seemed like the obvious thing to do! It was more a 'Save the Year' invite as we couldnt actually confirm the date or even the month until we could call Disney 12 months before hand! We had great fun making them and included lots of info for all of our guests. The DVD included pictures of me and Paul during our holiday when we got engaged, pictures of the wedding gazebo because we knew we would be getting married there (I'd sooner change the date than the location!!) a few pics of the Beach Club Villas as my mum and dad are DVC members and had offered to put everyone up there for 2 nights over the wedding and we also included details, pics and prices for other hotels in Florida that our guests may be interested in staying in for the rest of their holidays! Everyone loved their DVDS and we were so excited as it was the first real wedding thing we'd been able to do! :thumbsup2
We didnt worry with sending save the dates to everyone once we'd confirmed the date with Disney as we loved the one's Disney were already sending. We did however, make the invites...and oh my...it was so much fun! :goodvibes
We'd really wanted a fairytale theme for the wedding and although after booking Ariels we decided to change it to an under the sea theme we decided to keep the invites fairytale, so we made pink scrolls and typed all the wedding detalils on them in silver fairytale writing. They looked so beautiful, if I do say so myself!! ;) (I have pics which I promise I'll post once I've sorted out the issue I have with posting pics!) We even made boxes out of a pink shiny card and put white shredded tissue paper in them for the invites to sit on. We tied the scrolls up with 2 types of ribbon (a wide white ribbon with silver detailing and then a thin pink ribbon) And to top it all off we put a pretty pink ribbon and bow on the box. We had to hand deliver them to everyone as they were too fragile to go in the post! Luckily most people live local so that wasnt a problem (we do however still have 2 sitting upstairs that we need to deliver - make that 1! Just as I'm typing this DF is off out to deliver one to his BM!) :thumbsup2
This is our invite and the box we made for it to go in
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/Photo0093.jpg
And this is the invite closer up!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/Photo0091.jpg
We've had a great reaction from the invites too :)...we've put so much thought and effort into making the save the date DVDS and invites it's really given people an idea of what to expect from our wedding, well at least I hope it has!! :worried:
Next time...our planning sessions!!

I dont think I've said this before but our wedding planner is Carol Mikles. She's been great so far but if I send an email it's generally her assistant Jessie that gets back to me (I've seen some other brides on here say the same thing so I'm glad it's not just me! I was getting worried!! :worried:) I have to say though, I don't mind who gets back to me just aslong as someone does!! :) Carol's been out of the office a lot lately (I guess these last few months are a busy time for weddings - they are in the UK anyway!) But anyway...lets get back on track!
We had our first telephone PS with Carol on August 18th. We arranged it for 7pm our time (2pm Florida time!) so we had time to get back from work and have dinner etc before she called. I was on facebook updating my status every few minutes with a countdown - I'm sorry but I was just so excited!! :yay: At 6:55pm I had my notebook and pen at the ready and was staring intently at the phone willing it to ring! Carol called right on time and (maybe it's just the accent) but she sounded so happy and excited to speak to us! She was also very surprised to hear that DF would be joining in on the call too (I have to say I found that a bit odd...don't all grooms attend the PS?! He doesn't have very many opinions as to what he wants for the wedding, he's just trying to keep the cost down!! haha :rotfl:) Our budget is £15,000 (that's about $23,500 depending on the exchange rate! I'm silently praying it'll go up by the time we have to pay Disney!!)
But anyway I keep getting off track!! :offtopic:
The PS! As I said, she called bang on time and we got straight to it. I already knew that this PS would be about the basics (photography/ceremony times, dj, what we are supplying, what Disney will supply and when and how to deliver our items to Francks, ceremony music etc) I'm a pretty organised person and for all of these (what I'd call) basics, I knew exactly what I wanted! Carol let us know we'd have to confirm final numbers, at the latest, 3 days before the wedding. Our numbers keep changing due to various things! (Couples breaking up, people not being able to get time off work/school etc.) Currently we have 22 people (thats including me and DF) and 4 of them are children under 5. There's a possibility of the numbers going up to 24 if 2 of our friends that recently got married in Gran Canaria find they can afford to come to Florida. There's also a chance the numbers could drop as 3 of our friends all work together and might not all be able to all have the time off. (One is our photographer and another is the BM and they have both already had the time off confirmed!) If that happens it means one of DF's friends and his girlfriend wont be coming! But fingers crossed it'll all work out ok!!
We decided to move all the times up so instead of having our pre reception at 3:30pm its now going to start at 3pm. That means our reception will be from 4pm until 19:30pm and then 20:00pm until 21:30pm is our dessert party at Epcot. It all works out much better that way! Our ceremony wont be very long so there was no need to have 1hr set aside for it when it'll probaby all be over with in about 15mins! (The best 15mins of my life though!!) :goodvibes We have also decided to have Minnie & Mickey make an appearance. ::MinnieMo::MickeyMo We have 4 small children coming to the wedding and my niece who will be 4 by then and one of the other little girls who will be 2 are both BIG Mickey fans. We've kept it a secret (except from my parents) so it's going to be a big surprise for everyone! They are even coming in their formalwear which I'm super excited about!! :thumbsup2
The planning session with Carol lasted about 40mins and she sent the BEO by the end of the week so it was a pretty quick turn around! The price came back at just over $14,000 - a lot more than what I expected but DF and I have agreed not to fret about it until we have the floral BEO, and then we can start to worry!! :worried: We are super lucky because my parents are paying for the open bar (originally we were going to have a cash bar) and they are also giving us £1000 which will go a long way! They are also hosting a character breakfast the day after the wedding AND buying the kiddies outfits (the 3 little girls are all going to be dressed as Disney princesses princess: rather than in traditional bridesmaid dresses so I'm really looking forward to going to DTD and telling them to pick what they want. I'm sure they are going to be really excited about it!! :hyper: The other little one is my nephew. He'll only be 1 1/2 but we're going to get him a little suit.
Our floral planner is Warren. We had our PS with him on Sept 1st...same time...same patient waiting and silent willing of the phone to ring. :goodvibes This PS only lasted 20mins as I had no idea what I wanted :confused3 (poor guy) The only thing we really agreed on was Mickey crystals in my bouquet! haha :rotfl: He was really good about it though and gave us some ideas and said he'd email us some pictures either that evening or on the Friday. Well, I became so totally addicted to checking my email every 5mins and by Friday evening nothing had arrived! Needless to say I was a little disappointed! :sad1: So I checked my email again on Monday...and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday and Friday but still NOTHING! By this point I was super annoyed  so I emailed Jen who had arranged the floral PS (I didnt have Warrens contact info) I didnt hear back from Jen either but I did however get 2 emails from Warren on the Monday evening. He apologised and said he'd sent the email on the Wednesday when we spoke but he thinks it must of bounced back due to too many photos being uploaded. He didnt send any pics of centre pieces (which he said he would do) but he included ideas for my bouquet, bouts, aisle and wedding gazebo decor and also decoration for the tables at the dessert party. I also got links to look at upgrading the table linens and for the chocolate favours. I have to say, the upgrade info for the linens was so overwhelming that we ended up deciding to stick with the basics (in white) and just have blue napkins! The 2nd email was for a Mad Hatter Bridal Tea Party which I'd only decided I wanted a few days before our floral PS. This is instead of a hen night in Florida (Im still having a hen night at home in the UK though!) :) I was so excited to get the emails I replied straight away to tell him what I loved/hated/changed my mind on and all the things I'd forgotten to tell him during our original phone call!! Things like wanting extra flowers to leave on the seat that would of been for DF's dad at the ceremony, he passed away suddenly in May (sadly just a few weeks after booking their trip to Florida for the wedding) I also realised I hadnt actually told him we were going for a whole 'under the sea' theme (dont ask me how I forgot to tell him that!!) I havent heard back from him yet but I did only reply to him on Monday and he only works Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I'm hoping to hear from him on Friday as I've asked if he can send some pics of the centrepieces he suggested (high and low alternating centrepieces as we're having a roman table but I'd really like to see some pics before I decide what I really want)
We have also decided to have silver chiavari chairs at the reception with organza bows, alternating in blue and green. I'm sure many other things will change over the next few weeks and months but hopefully not too much as I can't stand all the waiting around for the revised info!!

Hi I'm just joining in. I'm enjoying all your planning. You're so detailed it seems like you have things under control. That's so great. I also really luved the idea of Save the date videos. That's so creative. I'm sure they were lovely. :) I understand what you mean about checking your email a million times. :rotfl: I hope everything works out and you hear back from them soon.

Hiya! Thank you so much! :) The DVDs were so great and if you've got the time I'd totally recommend doing it. It stands out and its something people can keep too! Ive been planning this wedding for 3yrs so some parts I have totally under control! But now Ive reached the time to start deciding on floral Im totally lost! :confused3 Guess you cant have it together all the time eh?! Im still waiting to hear back from Warren at the moment, but it has only been 1 wk. Only problem is, the longer he takes to reply, the more things I change my mind on! oops!:rotfl:

Hi, joining in!
Our wedding is about a week before yours, so I'm looking forward to reading along.
We were engaged in October 2008, and I thought that was a long enough time to be engaged, I couldn't imagine adding an extra year to that!
I've enjoyed reading along so far. I agree with you about the prices of wedding dresses. I've often told people that it's cheaper to fly to the states and to get a dress there then to buy one here! I ordered mine from perfectbridal.com and saved over $1500 by doing it. :confused3

:rotfl: I know what you mean. I've been waiting to just make it "official" and I swear I keep changing my mind about the date and locations. :rotfl: Usually stick with your first choice. I've noticed in other things that i end up going back to that one. :shamrock: I hope you hear from them soon. :shamrock:

I agree with you FutureMrs.B...first instincts are usually right! So Im trying to stick to my guns and go with what I first wanted. Theres a few things that Ive had better ideas now but majority of things my first choice is the best! :)
So Im still waiting to hear back about the floral. I didnt get any pics of the centrepieces they recommended so I hope they send those soon! I just want to get the final budget sorted out!!
I've been buying little things here and there for the last few weeks and now everything is starting to arrive! :goodvibes my spare room bed is fast filling up!
I got a honeymoon journal. I originally saw it at Confetti but when I went back to buy it they had gone into administration!! I was really disappointed when I had a great idea ...ebay!! You've got to love ebay eh?! I found it on there, same price but I was ok with that. So thats been delivered now. I've also ordered my guest book now too. Its plain white and written on the bottom in silver it says 'and they lived happily ever after' sooo perfect!! Thats the theme for our at home reception in May so I had to have it! I may add some coloured crystals to jazz it up a bit! I also found a pen on ebay. Its super cute! Its a white ceramic cinderellas carriage and the pen sits in the top. It was way too cute not to buy! :)
This is the pen...I love it!! :)
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/pen.jpg
I've been looking at place cards/holders too but its really hard to decide what I want! Ive found some great shells where the cards sit on the top. But Im holding back on buying them because I want to decide on the floral first. Although our theme is under the sea, the floral is currently sounding more fairytale and if thats the case I just dont think the shells will match!? Argh! I just cant wait to get it all sorted out!!
We've already got our favours, well half of them!! When we were in Florida in April we made several trips to Michaels and got white buckets in the sale! We are going to half fill them with sand and then put Mickey/Minnie ornaments in them. I liked the idea of putting Little Mermaid ornaments in them to match the whole under the sea theme but DF isnt loving it so Minnie and Mickey it is!! :)
We also recently found out that my fabulous parents had upgraded us to CL at AKL. We are super excited! They had originally booked us for 2 nights after the wedding using their DVC points but when they found out about CL they decided to upgrade us. We're also going on the sunset safari! Only 8 people get to do it each evening so we cant wait for that! We get an African themed dinner at Jiko after too! I went to Kenya a few years ago and did a safari there and it was amazing so Im really looking forward to this and seeing how it compares to the real thing!! :goodvibes
Hope the foods better though...i could only eat breakfast in Kenya as the rest of the time the food was not good!! Or maybe Im just really fussy?!

Hi Kat and congratulations from another (VR) bride!!
My VR will be two months away when you get married!!
I am really enjoying hearing of your plans. We own DVC at ALV and BLT and we stayed on the club level at AKV a couple of years ago and also did the safari - you will adore it I'm sure!! For the VR we are staying at BLT. We are also using points to supply all of our guests (there will be 15 of us in total) with a DVC room for 4 nights - some at Kidani and some at BLT.
Good luck with the planning and looking forward to hearing more!!

So I've had a super lazy day today and I've done nothing. Seriously, NOTHING! And because of that all I can think of to do for some kind of excitment is tell you all about our BP. Fun for you eh?! :)
MOH - Zoe - Ive known her since we were 13. We went to school together and she's the only 'grown up' on my side of the BP!
Then we have our 3 Disney Princesses (literally - the little ones will all be dressed as the Disney Princess of their choice. Should be interesting! ;) ) Charlie (5) and Katie (who will be 2 and is Charlies little sister) They are the daughters of 2 of our very good friends! And last but not least we have Laura, my niece who will be 4 and is our FG.
DF has his BM Sean who he has been best friends with forever! There's also my nephew Stevie who will be 18mths at the wedding. I really want him to be part of the BP but DF isn't liking the idea. Originally I wanted Stevie to walk down the aisle with Katie (holding hands - super cute right?!) but I was recently sent a picture of a little boy walking down the aisle with a sign round his neck saying 'here comes the bride'. I love it!! :goodvibes My sister came up with the idea of having Stevie walk down the aisle at the beginning of the cermony (or possibly before our FG) with a sign that says 'Once upon a time...' and then after the ceremony he could walk back down the aisle after DF and I with a sign that says 'and they lived happily ever after.'
I think DF is going to take some persuading though. What do you all think?! Is it too much or is it cute? Stevie is only young so maybe he shouldnt be part of the BP?! Argh! I need help!! :confused3

Aww I think it sounds like such a cute idea! The only problem I could foresee is if he's one of the lil hyper kids that would be running all over the place. If not I think it would be really cute. Another idea might be still go with your original one of having the two hold hands and walk down the aisle. Either way I'm sure it's going to be cute. :cutie:

Thanks so much for your reply!! He's not actually walking yet so no chance of him running around all over the place just yet! :) He's quite a serious little boy and not very hyper so I dont think he'll be causing havoc. I like the idea of the 2 of them walking together though especially as they are both young...better chance of getting them both down the aisle or they may wander off! :rotfl:The aisle at the WG is quite long and it does worry me if they'll make it all that way!

DF took me out to dinner tonight to the Outback. I love it there and it always reminds me of being in Florida :goodvibes Whenever we go out we always spend the whole evening talking about our wedding and all the things we've still got left to do!!
We are planning on making welcome bags for all our guests and having them put in their rooms for when they check in to the BCV although they all would of been in Florida a few days by then we still thought it'd be a nice thing to do! We are leaving them till we actually get to Florida so that leaves us 1 week to put them altogther. I might try and sort the bags out here though! I love some of the welcome bags Ive seen on here! Everyone puts so much effort into it! I love it!! :thumbsup2
I tried persuading DF that he really did want my nephew to walk down the aisle and although I couldnt get him to say yes he agreed we'd leave it as
a maybe and just see how the little one does at the rehearsal. If he cant walk down the aisle then he wont get to walk on the day! :( Time to start practicing I think!! :)
Ive emailed Warren today about the flowers. We've changed our minds on some things and Im still trying to get the pics of the centre pieces that he told me about on 1st Sept! I really hope he sends them soon!
I read on one the of pjs yesterday (sorry I cant remember who's!) They had a buffet and had the desserts removed which took the cost down and then they had a cake. We didnt even think of doing this and as we are having a DP it makes sense to do this as, seriously, how many desserts do we need?! I always felt bad that we had a Disney chef at our disposal but weren't using them for our cake! Im super excited as DF said we can look into doing this so I get a cake! YAY!! :yay:Im so excited!
We saw this cake at Francks and it fits so perfectly with our 'Under the Sea' theme so if we do have one we'll be having something like this, but a bit smaller! There is only 22 of us after all!!

I collected our guest book from the post office today and Im really disappointed with it. Its not like it was on the site so Im going to have to return it. :( It took so long to find it and now Im going to have to find another one! I might look at making one?! Has anyone else made their own guestbook?! I wouldnt know where to start but I'm willing to give it a go! :)

Good idea on the buffet - we went to a wedding recently (non-Disney :sad2:) and they only had cake for desert. I was surprised they didn't even have coffee!! Oh well, I don't think many people noticed.
Have you thought about doing one of those guest frames? I have seen a bunch of them for sale all over the Internet, the guests sign the frame matting and then you put a pic in it and can display all their well wishes.
At the above mentioned wedding, they did a fingerprint guest tree. There was a tree printed in the middle of a poster and you made your finger print on it then signed your name under it. The ink for the finger prints was some sort of green ink that came right off with alcohol wipes. It was pretty cool and super original. Someone made a fingerprint person under the tree. :upsidedow

I do like my desserts so dont think I could only have cake but we have 9 different desserts for the DP so I dont feel like Im missing out!! :goodvibes I would love to have a wedding cake though...Id feel a little sad if I didnt have a cake to cut! And it'd be a really nice surprise for everyone as currently everyone knows we aren't having a cake.
I really like the idea of the frame but was unsure how it would travel seeing as it would need to come home in the luggage but I do really like the idea. I could do a small one for the wedding as there will only be 20 of us and I could always have a bigger one for our home reception! I'll run it past DF and see what he thinks but I think its a great idea...thanks!! :thumbsup2
A finger print tree is so original, what a great thing to do! :) I bet it looked great once everyone had done it!

Congratulations!! :) Its always good hearing from another UK bride!! Davids is sooo great!! You'll have no trouble finding a dress! The dress I want for my MOH is from Davids too but I couldnt buy it when I was there in April as she wasnt with me so Im taking a risk and buying it the week before the wedding! :worried: Have fun when you go back in Nov!! Im so jealous...wish I didnt have to wait till March!! :) And thanks for reading!!

Where are you staying? You can ship the frame to and from the Contemporary, if that is an option. If you order it online, just re-use the packaging they send it in.
We are using our own champagne glasses, serving set and memory vase for both the DFTW and the home reception so we are shipping a box to the Contemporary and then back home. It is super convenient since we are staying there but I bet there are other locations you can ship to/from if you are staying somewhere else.
If not, maybe you can remove the mat and leave the glass part at home. You could get one of those heavy duty cardboard envelopes (like the ones to ship photographs) to put it in and it may travel quite well that way. :goodvibes

We are staying at the BC for 2 nights and then AKL for 2 nights and all the other nights are at a private villa we have hired. Leaving the glass at home is a good idea! As we are coming from the UK I'm just not sure Virgin can be trusted not to break it! haha! :) If we do a small frame though it would go in my hand luggage so thats not a bad idea and then I could just put it in one of the heavy duty envelopes you suggested for extra protection!! Its all coming together now!! Thank you so much for your great ideas!! :goodvibes

We are finally making headway on the flowers! I got an email back from Warren late last night (like 11pm our time so I was fast asleep by then!!) :)
So here's what we have got sorted so far...
My MOH's bouquet will consist of all white Asian lilies. Warren said this way I will get a larger bouquet that is more cost effective. I originally wanted calla lilies but he said it would be smaller and cost more. He also added a Mikey crystal to the handle to give it a little sparkle.
For the ceremony decor Im having the white folding chairs with a floral cluster tied to the end of the 3 rows of chairs and it will have a cornflower blue ribbon tied to it for some pop! Ive also got the petal cones on each seat for the guests in blue, green and white. We have a floral garland around the entrance to the gazebo in mixed floral of blue and green with sheer white curtain panels hanging inside the gazebo. I did think about having mixed petals down each side of the aisle but decided against it incase they blow away!! :rotfl:
For my bouquet I have a combination of white Asian lilies, green mini calla lilies, green roses, white roses, dark blue delphinuim and blue hydrangea and greenery. This way I can combine both types of lilies in my bouquet as I couldnt pick just one!! :)
I have also added in a small bouquet of white mini calla lilies for Paul’s dad as he sadly passed away suddenly at the end of May not long after booking his trip for the wedding so it is important to Paul to have something in memory of his dad.
We are also having a corsage for each of the mums to wear on their wrists. They are made up of white mini calla lilies with filler and greenery.
So now all we have to do is sort out the centre pieces. Warren sent me some great pictures but we are having real trouble deciding on what we want! Who knew it would be sooo difficult!! Im sure the email I sent him was just plain confusing but we'll see what he says when he gets back to me!!

DF and I have been talking about the wedding music for quite some time! Some of the songs we agreed on straight away but we still cant agree on a song for the recessional!! :confused3
When we had our PS with Carol she told us to pick 4 or 5 songs for when the guests are being seated so we've picked:
1. Some Day My Prince Will Come
2. When You Wish Upon A Star
3. A Dream Is A Wish your Heart Makes
4. Beauty And The Beast (DF hasnt totally agreed to this yet but I really like it!!)
5. Kiss the Girl
Then when it's time for DF, his BM and Rev Jack Day to walk up the aisle DF picked 'I Just Cant Wait To Be King' from the Lion King.
I've always wanted to walk down the aisle to Canon in D so all the BM's, MOH and myself will walk down the aisle to that. And this is where I become a total bridezilla because there is a specific part of this song that I want to walk down the aisle to and I dont care how its done but I WILL walk down the aisle at that point in the song!!
There are a few songs we are trying to decide between for the recessional and they are:
1. Ever Ever After by Carrie Underwood (my pick)
2. Hold Up A Light by Take That (DF's pick)
3. Happy Together by The Turtles (my pick)
4. Wonderful World by Joey Ramone (DF's pick)
5. (Good Riddance) Time Of Your Life by Glen Campbell (DF's pick)
6. I Only Want To Be With You by Dusty Springfield (my pick)
So as you can see we've got a few different songs to choose from and we just cant agree!! I wanted something a bit more lively. After all, we would of just got married so I want something happy sounding!! Any suggestions/opinions on these songs is, and would be, very welcome!! :)

We got our estimated BEO back in August and I completely forgot about it to be honest!! We were worried about the cost but have decided to wait for our floral BEO to come in before we start panicking and cutting everything!! :rotfl:
I thought I'd post ours as I know how helpful I've found other peoples!
So here we go...
Ceremony
We are having an ipod to play our music so for everything we need to actually have that (speakers, technician etc) its $505
Ceremony location $2079.63
Wishes videography package $3300
Total $5884.63
Pre Reception/Reception
Bar package for 16 people x 3hrs $618.55
Soft drinks/bottled water x2 (for the kids) $42.53
Fairytale Cuvee x3 for toast $239.69
Down by the sea with Ariel buffet for 16 $2206.17
2x childrens plated dinners $59.28
Non alcoholic punch $82.47
Champagne punch $121.13
DJ $1400
Minnie and Mickey $1350
Total $6119.82
Dessert Party
Location (UK lochside) $266.25
18 Illuminations viewing fee $248.25
18 Classic dessert buffet $695.87
Set up $79.88
1 motorcoach $435.75
Total $1726
So everything together is costing a grand total of $13730.45
2 of the kids are free as they under 3 so thats a bargain!! Shame we cant pretend the other 2 are under 3 aswell!! :rotfl:
It was more than what we thought (or more like what we hoped for!) and we did take out the microphones Carol has recommended for the ceremony as they were $320 and I'd rather just talk a bit louder!! :)
Now we just have to wait for the floral BEO and are hoping that it comes in at under $10,000. I dont know if thats realistic or not?! Some of the prices Disney charge I think are really cheap and reasonable but then there are other things that I think are way over the top!! So I just dont know what to expect! :confused3
Im hoping to hear from Warren again next week and then it shouldnt be much longer until we get the floral BEO so Im keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it comes in under budget!! I'll keep you posted!!
We also need to get the price back for the Mad Hatters Bridal Tea Party (which is also included in that final $10,000) which Im hoping to have at the Whitehall patio at the GF. I was really concerned about what this would cost but I'm less worried now as my nan (who passed away recently) left us £1000 which she asked we use for the wedding as she wasnt going to be there. I decided the tea party would be the best thing to use that money for as she really liked her tea!! :)

I'm super excited because I found (and bought) a new guest book!! :goodvibes I was reading another PJ yesterday and they posted a link to guestbookstore.com and I thought 'ooo I'll have a look at that' and O...M...G...I fell in love!! :lovestruc They are THE BEST guest books I have ever seen! We decided to go with the casual page as we liked the look of it more and just went with a champagne cover as we thought we could jazz it up ourselves if we want. We also added an additional page each for myself and DF so we can write down our memories of the day. I was worried they wouldnt deliver to the UK but they do! yay! :woohoo:So I ordered it straight away. It cost $64.05 (but that's because it cost $34.05 just to get it sent here!!) Ho hum...I dont care, I love it and it's perfect and it made me happy!! :goodvibes
I also got our welcome bags from ebay (you've got to love ebay! :)) We decided to get them in blue as our colours are blue and green. I'd of got 1/2 and 1/2 but the green was more of a lime green and thats all wrong so we decided to go for just blue! So now I just need to start on the welcome letter for everyone. We aren't going to fill the bags up until we get to Florida.
We moved all our wedding 'stuff' onto the spare room bed and it's starting to take over!! I'm seriously starting to wonder how we are going to get it all over to Florida for the wedding!! We only get 1 case each and are away for 3weeks so we have to take all the normal stuff (clothes, shoes, truck load of make up ;)) AND all the wedding stuff!! :scared1:
We only have a baggage allowance of 23kg and as we are flying economy (boo!! :sad2:) we only get 1 case and have to pay an extra £30 for each additional case! Coming home we are flying premium (woo :yay:) and get 2 cases each, same weight of 23kg each so at least I know we'll be able to get all our shopping home!! haha!
DF and I want to buy some of the Mickey cookware. When we were there in April we fell in love with the Mickey cutlery and it was a bargain at $50 but we just didnt have the money or space to bring it home so we agreed we'd wait till the wedding and buy it then. We are also going to get the aprons (just for fun!) and a load of other stuff too! I'm also planning on heading to Target and buying up all their vests as they are great and I just cant get vests like it over here so I have to stock up as I dont know when we'll be going back :sad1:
Still waiting to hear back from Warren but in his defence I only sent the email last Monday evening and he only works Monday, Wednesday & Friday so I think I need to give him a bit longer before I get all stressed out!! I just cant help it...I want a reply and I want it NOW!! I think I just really want the floral budget back so we know what it's costing us!! Hopefully not too much longer and we'll know!!
I'm also stressing as none of our friends have booked their flights/accomodation yet. We told everyone about this wedding in 2007 and it drives me crazy that with just 5 1/2 months to go the only people who have booked are our families (and I'm extremely grateful that they have!) It's not cheap I know, which is why we gave everyone so much notice but the longer they all leave it to book the more it worries me! The main people I'm hoping will book soon are my MOH, the BM and our photograper (who's a close friend) who are all planning on flying out together and staying at a villa together with 2 other friends. My MOH is currently away in Cyprus for another wedding so I'm hoping when she's back she'll get her flight booked but part of me is worrying that the reason she hasn't booked yet is because she either 1, cant afford it or 2, doesnt want to come. I'm probably just being silly but I feel like I dont have much control over anything as Disney are essentially doing everything wedding related so all I can do is obsess over the lack of flights booked so far and the fact I dont get replies to my emails as qucikly as I'd like! ARGH!
OK, I feel a bit better after getting that all out! :) Is it just me or do other brides go through this aswell?!

Know just what you mean. So far I know DF's family have booked their flights, but not their accom, two of my friends have booked everything, but that's it! :scared1:
I'm waiting on our floral BEO too, not expecting it until around October 15th, but it's taking too long!
$10000 for floral! :faint: Wow, I'm hoping my floral comes no where near that! I know flowers can really make the room but I'm hoping my floral comes in at less then 25% of what my main BEO came in at.
What did you search for to find your welcome bags on ebay?

I'd really like my floral to be less than 25% of my main BEO too!! :) We havent asked for much so its highly likely that it will...Im just thinking by totally over estimating I'll be really happy when it comes back!! I just dont know what to expect! $10,000 is whats left of our total budget which is why I hope its less than that. And that has to cover the cost of the tea party too!
I just searched for canvas bags on ebay. We got 10 plain blue bags for £12.95. DF is going to design a logo for us and we are going to put that on the bag. I'll post a pic when he's done it! :goodvibes

So while I'm waiting for my floral BEO I thought I'd tell you a bit about our at home reception.
It's at a golf and country club near our home in Essex called Lords. (you can check it out at www.lordscountryclub.com (http://www.lordscountryclub.com)) Its going to be on 7th May 2011 (2 months after the wedding)
We've got the smallest of the rooms (the view suite) I'd of gone for one of the bigger rooms but there were 2 things that really sold this room to me. 1, it has doors that open out onto beautiful decking overlooking a lake and the golf course and 2, it has 2 flat screen tv's on the wall which we can play our wedding DVD on! :goodvibes So all the people who couldnt make it for the wedding (and all those that did) will get to see it again and again and again (I'm putting it on repeat! haha!) We are also going to have all our photos on DVD so we can play those aswell :thumbsup2
We're having a buffet which includes things like roast beef yorkshire pudding with horseradish, a selection of sandwiches, mini indian selection, sausage rolls, crisps and pretzels etc And we'll be have a wedding cake aswell as we aren't sure if we'll have one at the actual wedding) that's being made by someone my dad works with. She makes all our cakes and she's amazing! :)
DF has just booked our DJ (the son of someone I work with - it's good to know people :thumbsup2) and he's about a quarter of the price of the DJ we have got through Disney! Shocking!!
We dont have to worry too much about decorations/floral as the room is beautiful on it's own. There are flowers already in the room so we probably wont have any more just to save some money! We've got 5 round tables though and to decorate them we have got some chunky white candlesticks with white candles (2 on each table, all different heights)
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/Photo030.jpg
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/Photo039.jpg
and then we have some white double sided photo frames. On one side we are going to put a picture from the wedding and on the other a memory we have from the day - hopefully one that fits with the photo if we can remember anything!! haha! I also think we will scatter rose petals on the table to add some colour as everything else is white!

We're hoping to give the photo frames out as gifts to people who have helped us with the wedding. I'd also like to jazz them up a bit as they are a bit plain. Not sure what I'm going to do with them but I'll think of something! I'll post 'after' pics when I've done them!! :)

I am super excited today for a number of reasons! :hyper:
Firstly, our complimentary room night - when we first met with Michelle, our sales consultant, back in April we asked for our comp night to be at AKL for the night of the 9th as we are staying at BCV the night of the wedding. When the confirmation came through a few weeks later they had booked it for the wrong night!! They had booked us for the night of the wedding. As it was, by then my parents had already booked us at AKL for the 9th and 10th, CL (very excited about that too!) I forgot all about it until a few days ago so I emailed Carol to see if we could change our comp night to BLT for the night of the 19th. Jessie, her assistant, emailed me back to say they couldn't book us at BLT as they were all reserved for DVC members but she did book us at the Contemporary :) Ive never even been inside it before so I'm very much looking forward to it! To top it all off, the 19th is my 27th birthday so DF is taking me to California Grill for dinner as I've always wanted to go! But the real icing on the cake is that we can see Wishes from there! We got engaged during Wishes in 2007 and this will be the first time we have seen it since then! Im am so so soooo excited!! :goodvibes
Secondly, our floral budget - I got an email from Warren today, now we have finally decided on everything he's going to put it all together and send us the BEO in the next few days! I think I've mentioned before that he only works Monday, Wednesday and Friday so I just know I'm going to be obsessively checking my email for the rest of the night and all day Friday!! :rotfl:I can't wait to get the BEO back so we know exactly how much this wedding is going to cost us!
And lastly, the Mad Hatter Bridal Tea Party - I've been emailing Carol back and forth and we have ironed out all the details (picked the food, cake and filling, characters and props) and she's going to amend the BEO to include it and send that back to me too! :) She's also going to speak to the chef to see what the price is for the wedding cake we wanted so we can decide if we want to go ahead with it or not!
It's all coming together now! :thumbsup2

So I'm still patiently waiting for our floral budget. On Wednesday Warren said he'd get it sent to me in the next few days. Guess I was a bit too optimistic in hoping it would be here before the weekend! Well fingers crossed he sends it Monday! I know I know...I'm so impatient!! :)
But while I wait for that I have been sorting out the Mad Hatter Bridal Tea Party. It's all booked for March 5th 2pm-4pm and will be at the Whitehall Patio at GF. There's 12 of us going, 4 of them children, and I am very, VERY excited about it! :goodvibes
When I first enquired about having a tea party Jessie sent me some pictures and just hit the nail on the head! It was exactly what I was thinking (I guess that's what they are paid to do though eh?!:))
So it's going to look something like this:
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/madhatter2.jpg
I'm buying some cheshire cat cuddly toys for the children and we're also making an activity pack for them so they dont get bored! It'll just have things like a colouring book and crayons (can't trust them with felt tip pens...last time my mum gave my neice pens she coloured the soles of her feet and inside her ears! :rotfl:) maybe some Alice in Wonderland figures for them to play with and whatever else I can find to fit the theme!!
As we weren't originally going to have a wedding cake I decided to have mini mad hatter cakes for the tea party as I figured I had to have cake at some point right?!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/madhattercake.jpg
We're going to have a seperate round table set up with the cakes and cupcakes displayed on it.
It's going to be yellow sponge with milk chocolate mousse and the little ones are getting cupcakes with colourful buttercream topping as (call me cheap if you want) but I didn't want to spend $25 on a cake each for a 1 and 2 yr old! The cupcakes are only $7 each and I don't really care if they eat them or not for that price!!
The menu for the tea party is quite basic...I didn't really want anything fussy or over the top so we are having jam tarts, scones, a selection of sandwiches (egg salad, tuna salad and chicken salad - yes I like salad! ;)) a fresh fruit display with dipping sauces and then I decided to add Mickey Mouse chocolate dipped crispie treats and some assorted pastries (similar to the ones they serve at the Garden View Tea room at the GF.) Then we'll have iced tea and assorted hot teas and I'm going to add some juices/soft drinks as I forgot the kids would need drinks! (Can you tell they aren't my children?!) It's costing about $34pp and I'm really happy with that! It will be a fabulous afternoon I'm sure!
Now I need to find something to wear! :thumbsup2
My mums designer at work is designing our save the dates/invites/menus for the tea party...and only charging us a cup of coffee and a chocolate biscuit! I think we can stretch to a whole tin of chocolate biscuits though! We are looking at possibly doing something 3D and maybe adding some sparkle too (I love sparkle :lovestruc what girl doesn't?!) When we get them back I'll post a picture!

I love your ideas for the tea party. It sounds like it's all going to come out really nice..btw I don't blame you about the cupcakes for the kids I would've done the same. :rotfl:

Thanks FutureMrs.B! Glad I'm not alone on that and don't look too cheap!! :rotfl:
Sooooo...I'm still 'patiently' waiting for my floral budget. Had an email from both Carol and her assistant Jessie today but nothing from Warren...yet! There's still time...if not fingers crossed I'll get something Wednesday!!
I've been home sick today  and I was feeling better until I got some bad news! Normally, when we get our dollars we just get them from whichever travel agent has the best deal! But the last couple of times we've been away we've got them from a website as they always offer a better deal. We've never had any problems until today...I was just sitting here scanning the boards when DF gets a call from my dad (I didn't know it was my dad at the time). I'm super nosey so was staring at the computer but actually listening to him! ;) Our good friends recently had some really bad news (I wont go into details as it's too depressing/upsetting to be posting on my PJ) but I first thought it was to do with them but then the conversation moved on and I thought it was someone important (like BM or photographer) saying they couldn't make it to the wedding! :worried: When DF finally got off the phone I casually asked, 'who was that?' and when he said my dad I was thinking, 'oh cool, so no ones dropping out then!' :) but then he dropped the bombshell...the company we buy our dollars from has gone into administration and we've lost our money! :scared1: All £1000 of it (it was about $1700ish) Ok, this is when the tears start :sad1: and I become hysterical!! 'What do you mean they've lost our money?!?!? We've been saving for this wedding for over 2yrs...we cant just magically reproduce £1000!!' Then DF says ' your parents are going to cover the cost so we wont be losing anything.' Amazing, right? This is when I realise how amazingly lucky I am and how truly amazing and generous my parents are! (well actually I already knew that but it just reminded me!) We don't want to take their money. After all, they've lost their money too and it was probably more than what DF and I have lost. They are going through the motions as apparently its about 1300 people who have been affected and it could take years to get the money back. IF they can get it back. DF said my Dad wont take no for an answer (both my parents can be very stubborn when it comes to things like this but as my mum always says there'll be a time when they can't do this. So they want to enjoy spoiling us while they can.) So now the tears are drying up and I can breathe again knowing we havent lost everything. Of course we are going to try and find a way to repay them but it wont be until after the wedding when we can stop saving and give the money back to them! But for now, at least it's one less thing to worry about.
While I'm waiting for my floral budget to arrive I'll try and get some pics posted over the next few days of the kind of thing we are going for! And when it does finally arrive I'll post it and fingers crossed, we'll be under budget!! :worried:

I'm a lot calmer about the whole thing now! Ive realised there's no point worrying about it as there's nothing I can do. At least I know that after the wedding I can start to pay them back! Not that Im thinking about after the wedding!! I dont want to wish the time away! I want to enjoy every minute of it! :goodvibes

Well I'm still off work sick so thought I'd post some of the pics Warren sent me to help decide what we actually want!
He sent me a few pictures of bouquets but this was the one that really hit the nail on the head! It's the wrong colours (my bouquet will be blue, green and white) but I just love this! :lovestruc
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/bouquet_with_texture.jpg
I think I mentioned this before but the flowers that I'm actually having in my bouquet are white asian lilies, green mini cala lilies, green roses, white roses, dark blue delphinium, blue hydrangea and some greenery. I actually had to google some of the flowers at first as I didn't know what they all looked like!! :rotfl:
For our ceremony decor we are having a floral garland around the entrance to the WG in mixed floral of blue and green with sheer white curtain panels hanging inside the WG. We also have the white folding chairs with a floral cluster tied to the end of the 3 rows of chairs that is tied with a cornflower blue ribbon. It will be similar to this but in the right colours!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/aisledecor3.jpg
I think I mentioned this before too but our theme is 'under the sea' so we decided to carry on that theme with the reception flowers. (sorry this pic is a bit small but you get the general idea!!)
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/tableflowers.jpg
The vase is filled with water and sand and has a star fish at the bottom. This time the colours are right but the flowers are wrong! :) They'll be smiliar to whats in my bouquet and more rounded than in this picture. We are going to have 3 of these on the roman table and in between those we'll have a mixture of low, fuller centrepieces and we are also going to include some of these vases...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding/tableflowers2.jpg
We saw these vases filled with sand and shells when we went to Francks and DF really loved them which is why we are going to include some of them on the table.
Well that's it for now! Still waiting for the floral BEO but I'm sure it'll be here soon! :)

Still waiting! All this waiting is giving me a headache :headache: or maybe that's just the cold?! :confused3 Am I the most impatient person ever?! Warren did say last Wednesday that he'd get the budget to me in the next few days. The next few days to me isn't a week! But then I guess a week isn't really that long?! Fingers crossed for tomorrow eh?! :)
So while I'm waiting for the floral budget I thought I'd show you all a picture of my shoes (seeing as DF said I couldn't post my dress - spoilsport - I thought the shoes would be the next best thing, and he's already seen them so it's ok!! :thumbsup2) They aren't as fabulous as some of the shoes other brides have posted on here but I love them! :goodvibes I originally wanted something fabulous with a killer heel, but, I have a bad back for a start and being on my feet all day in killer heels isn't going to help that situation at all! Secondly, when I had my fitting my feet were killing me at the end of it (I was only standing for an 1hr or so!! :rotfl:) and I've got a bit of a walk from the BCV to the WG so I thought I'd go for something pretty but comfy! So without further ado, here are my shoes!!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Photo034.jpg
They do say fabulous inside so I guess I did get my 'fabulous shoes' in one way!! haha! :)
It's not a great pic, but you get the idea!! They are a dusky pink colour in like, a crushed velvet. They really reminded me of a princess shoe so I think they fit a Disney wedding very well!! :)
Hopefully tomorrow I'll have good news and another budget to post!!

OK...so last night I had my first 'wedding nightmare!' I haven't had any bad thoughts or dreams about the actual wedding. I've always just thought it's going to all go smoothly and I'm going to be super happy and totally not stressed and just enjoy my day! :goodvibes
So let me tell you about my dream! (Hope this doesn't bore you too much!! :rotfl:)
So it started with me getting my hair and makeup done. And it was ALL WRONG! :scared1: It was horrible but there wasnt enough time to re do it so we just had to go with it. Then (bizzarely ) we headed to the reception first. We were walking around the Boardwalk and there were so many other brides all heading to the same place! There were loads of tables set up outside and I walked to the top table, there wasn't a lot of room for all of us and my sisters MIL was sitting next to me which was weird as she's not actally going to be at the wedding?! Also, my 4 yr old neice was in a highchair and my 1 yr old nephew wasnt there at all! Also very weird. So when I sat down I realised the colours of the centrepieces were wrong. Everything was red and orange, small and very tacky. Our colours are blue and green so I proper freaked out :scared1: and my mum just kept telling me to calm down. I can remember saying I have to go and find Warren. This isnt right! All of my guests were really far away and sitting with another wedding too so we couldn't really talk or anything :( . When it was time for food they bought out cake :cake:and nothing else. Now I like cake as much as the next person but I am having proper food at the wedding too! All of a sudden Carol turned up and ushered us all over to a boat which my mum said was taking us to the ceremony location. :boat:Carol kept trying to drive the boat away without me on it and wouldn't help me on board! :sad1:
When I finally got on the boat she said we couldn't have the wedding at the WG as it might rain so we had to go somewhere else and have the ceremony indoors (it was beautiful blue skies...didn't look like a chance of rain to me!) She also said no DP because of the rain. And then I cried! :sad1:
After the ceremony people did their own thing for a while and then we all met up later for the tea party. There were way more people there than I had told Carol about, I didn't know any of them and they were all old! From there it went back to the outdoor reception and just kept replaying over and over.
A very bizzare dream! It didn't upset me so to speak, just worried me a bit. Why am I having bad dreams about the wedding now? :confused3 I honestly believe that Disney will make our day amazing so I don't know where this dream came from! Hopefully it wont happen again!

I guess maybe I could wait till the end of the week (after all he's not in tomorrow) and if I dont get anything Friday I could send him an email?! :headache:

Don't worry about the wedding dream, we all get them and generally there's always something that goes wrong in them.
My last one, everything went well until the reception, we've got the Whitehall Room booked, but in my dream it was under renovation so we couldn't use it, instead we were in a long boring room with one long table and everyone (50-60 people) all sitting at it. I was at the head of the table and DF must have been at the other end, but from where I sat I could see the whitehall room and it was clearly under renovation, but it still disapointed me as it was a much nicer space. Then the meals came out and they were terrible, all dry and gross.
It's natural to have dreams about something that's on your mind a lot, and considering you're waiting for your floral BEO and still haven't received it, it makes sense that in your dream your centrepieces are all wrong, because you haven't had the chance to confirm that you'll be happy with them yet.
Enjoy your wedding dreams, they're funny and help tell you what you're most concerned with at the time.
I'd email Warren, just a quick email to let him know that you haven't received an email back yet and were just wondering if there was a delay. It wont hurt. Having said that though, Elizabeth is my floral planner and she said it takes usually 2-3 weeks to get the BEO done up, she got it to me in 2 weeks. Warren probably shouldn't have said a couple of days :confused3
Wow, that was a long post for someone else's PJ...

We decided on our menu quite a while ago but I realised I hadn't posted it! We decided to just go with one of the pre selected buffet menus rather than a personalised menu because we actually loved the Down by the Sea with Ariel dinner buffet. We only made one small change and that was to add the salad station from another menu as it was much nicer!! :)
So here goes...
New England style clam chowder - DF tried chowder for the first time during our trip to Florida this April and he loved it so much we had to have it!
Medley of greens with toppings: cucumbers, tomatos, red onion, broccoli, carrots, marinated mushrooms, olive, cheddar cheese, bacon and crutons Dressings: balsamic, low fat zinfandel & blue cheese
Tomato & cucumber salad with bermuda onions and dill
Jumbo shrimp and P.E.I mussels with cocktail sauce and lemons
Grilled New York strip steak with merlot and black pepper reduction, balsamic crimini mushrooms and roatsed shallots
Roasted chicken with applewood bacon, caramalised shallots with an apple and cabernet reduction
Baked potatoes with toppings to inlcude green onions, cheddar cheese, bacon and sour cream
Baby vegetable medley
Cornbread, rolls and butter
We did have desserts but decided to get rid of those and have a wedding cake :thumbsup2 (yum!)
hmmm...writing all that has made me very hungry! :rotfl:
And for the Dessert Party we have gone with the Classic menu which includes...
Tiramisu
Cheesecake
Chocolate Éclairs
Pistachio Cannoli
Chocolate Fudge Brownies
Linzer Diamonds
Cream Horns
Fruit Tarts
Fresh Fruit Salad
Fruit Punch
Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, and Selection of Teas
Flavored Syrups and Sticks, Sugars, Cream, and Honey
I feel even more hungry now!! I can't wait to try everything :goodvibes
We aren't supplying any alcohol at the DP simply to save us some money!:rotfl: My fabulous Dad is paying for the bar at the reception so we figured that by the time we get to Epcot people would of had enough to drink so won't really need anymore. We don't want people falling all over the place drunk!! If they do really want a drink they can go to the Rose & Crown and buy one!

So from reading many, many PJs on here I've noticed that lots of brides are having a Welcome Party. This was never something that actually crossed my mind :confused3 Although I did plan on having a kind of 'Thank you for coming all this way just to see us get married' party after the wedding. Has anyone else done a party like this???
Although we are staying on Disney property for some of our honeymoon, the majority of our time will be spent at a villa my parents have hired. Because of this, and because of when everyone flies out we thought we'd have a pool party/bbq a week or so after the wedding. We thought we'd get some decorations, food and beer and just kind of catch up. What do people think of this idea? Is it a good idea or just plain weird?! :rotfl:
So far only our familes have booked their flights and they are all flying on different days. My parents, sister, BIL and the kids are flying out with DF and I on March 1st, FMIL and FBIL's are flying out on March 3rd and my Uncle and his GF are flying out on March 6th. Our photographer along with my MOH and DFs BM are looking at flying out on March 2nd, depending on if they go for 1 or 2 weeks this could be later. There are other people coming who have yet to book and I'm unsure when they will be flying although they know they need to be there by March 4th for the wedding rehearsal. So with people flying out on all different days it just doesnt seem worth our while or practical to have a welcome party (as much as Id love too after reading about everyone elses!! :goodvibes)
Seeing as the group is small (22 of us, 4 of them children under 5) I dont want to have a welcome party if everyone isnt there. It's my uncle and his GF that are flying out last. They dont get in till the evening of the 6th and we were just planning on a quiet family meal that night. The 7th we all check into BCV and DF and I wont be seeing eachother from 2:30pm that day (DFs idea to take that to the extreme - I just didnt want to see him the evening before/morning of the wedding!) and then the 8th is the wedding so we run out of time for a welcome party!
Welcome parties arent really a British thing either (mind you neither is the cocktail hour but we're still doing that!! Minus the huge amount of food though...just drinks for us thanks!! :rotfl:)...I guess its a bigger thing to do when you have a destination wedding??? I guess I'm just kind of worried...what if our guests are EXPECTING us to throw a welcome party?! I dont want them to start off their holiday disappointed?! :worried:

We're combining our welcome party with our rehearsal dinner, and when I say rehearsal dinner I mean nibbles and drinks
We do rehearsal dinners here, but not welcome parties or cocktail hours, it's weird finding out all these little differences between here and the other side of the World. You see US weddings on TV all the time, but you never pick up that they're any different from what we do.
I think our weddings sound a lot more like yours :confused3

I think that the pool party/BBQ sounds a brilliant idea!!!
We are having our Welcome Dinner at the Turf Club Grill at Saratoga Springs Resort. We are calling it 'optional' and have made it clear that we will be eating there on the Monday evening, and we would be delighted if our guests would like to join us, but it would be self-funded. Most of our guests have decided to add the DDP to our first five days at BLT/AKV, so it will be a table credit for them and all have said they will be joining us.
We would have loved to have paid for all our guests to attend the Welcome Dinner, but it was just a stretch too far budget-wise. All our guests are attending and nobody has raised any objection to having to pay themselves.
We chose Turf Club Grill because it has a menu suitable for all ages and tastes and is rarely crowded or noisy. It is also within strolling distance of DTD if anybody wants to continue the evening in the bars and shops there.

Thats a good idea :thumbsup2 We aren't having a rehearsal dinner either for a number of reasons but mainly due to the different dates everyone is flying in! We also dont normally have rehearsal dinners in the UK either...at least Ive never been to one for the 4 weddings I've been in! :confused3
I'd never heard of cocktail hours until I watched a programme called Four Weddings! I was amazed of the amount of food some people have at their cocktail hours only to go on and serve even more just a little while later! We are only having a fruit punch and champagne punch at our cocktail hour. If we served food everyone would eat then and not eat any of the buffet! :rotfl:

I really like what your doing though! Even with just 22 of us DF and I couldnt afford to pay for a welcome dinner. I dont think we'll have time to do anything though :sad2: The best day to do a meal would of been Saturday 5th March but thats now the day of my bridal tea party and DF's stag so he'll be out super late! I guess I just cant do everything!! :)

I fell in love with our guestbook the minute I saw it so thought I'd post some quick pics to show you just why I love it so much!! :lovestruc I got it from www.guestbookstore.com (http://www.guestbookstore.com) (I found it on the boards...thanks so much to the bride who posted the website as I'd never of found it myself!! :thumbsup2)
Our wedding is small (22 of us in total including the 4 kids) so I knew a normal guest book would be too big and I didnt want something with loads of empty pages left in it! With the books on guestbook store you can have as many or as little pages as you like (well, a minimum of 20 and you can buy extra pages in groups of 20 - I think it was 20 anyway!?) We also knew we wanted something a bit special...Flying to Florida from the UK isn't cheap. Our guests are spending £1000+ just to come and see us get married (ok ok, they are getting a fabulous holiday out of it aswell! But its not necessarily where they would of gone on holiday given the choice!) so because of this our guestbook had to be a little bit special as all the people coming are so special to us for spending so much to see us start our happily ever after! :goodvibes
The cover of the book is a bit plain at the moment but we are going to jazz it up with a pic from the wedding and some sparkles (there are loads of different covers to choose from though so you dont have to have plain!)

We'll have a guest book table but the plan is for my MOH and DF's BM to give the pages out to guests during the cocktail hour so they can fill it in. Every guest has a double sided page.
Here's side 1...

I just love this sooo much!! And I think it'll be so great to look back on this and read what our guests really enjoyed about the day and what they wished for us!
On a different note...we found our first item for our welcome bags!! I've mentioned it before but we got engaged during wishes and when out doing our food shop not too long ago I found some new chocolate by Cadbury...called Wishes!! :thumbsup2 It's a delicious chocolate star! Yum! So we got one each for each welcome bag! :goodvibes

We got our wedding rings in April when we were in Florida for a holiday. DF got my ering from Kays in 2006 (he had it a whole year before he proposed!!)
So during our first week we headed to the Florida Mall on a search for the perfect wedding rings! We headed straight for Kays as this is where the ering came from. I showed the guy my ering and we told him our budget and what I wanted and he kept showing me everything I didnt want! :headache: The rings he was really pushing, apart from being way over budget were the ones with the dip in the middle? I really dont like them! Im not sure why, I just dont. I've always known exactly what I wanted...a channel set ring with square diamonds (for some reason I really dont like round?! :confused3) I have to say, other than the fact he didnt seem to listen, he was really helpful. He even went to another store to get a ring with square diamonds and that would fit me just so I could see what it would all look like together...but still with the dip in the middle. Not good! :sad2: DF couldnt seem to find anything he really liked either. So off we went in search of the perfect ring elsewhere!
My dad always buys mums jewellery at Zales so we headed over...5mins in the store and I'd picked my ring! yay! :cheer2: I only had to try on one ring, it was perfect and I love it! :lovestruc DF had to try on several rings before he found what he wanted! Bless him! He originally wanted titanium, or maybe stainless steel. He ended up with white gold and it cost more than we had budgeted! But my ring was slightly cheaper so it all equaled out! :goodvibes
Here's a pic (sorry its not great but you get the idea!!)

Im not doing it yet though as at the end of this month we'll be finding out if 2 of our guests can come or not (I think I mentioned this earlier in the PJ...3 of them work together, 2 have got the time already, unsure if the 3rd can. If he cant it means his GF wont be coming either!) So If worse comes to worse and they cant come we'll have to remove them :sad1: I figured there's no point messing around with everything until we know what their plans are! Now I've got my floral budget I'm not really sure what to do with myself!! :confused3 The last few weeks have revolved around me getting that budget and now its here and there are minimal changes, what do I do now?!
I still need to finish the favours and place cards so thats my new thing to fixate on!! :rotfl:Maybe I need to write a to do list!
We've got small white buckets that we will be filling with sand and a Mickey ornament for the men and a Minnie ornament for the women (we wont be buying them until we fly over in March though)
I cant decide if I should have seperate place cards/holders or just attach cards to the buckets and save myself a bit of money/space on the table?! When we got the buckets they came with plain white round tags to print people names on. I didnt like them originally, but now Im thinking they might be ok?! If I dont use them I was thinking of having a shell place card holder and either having the card attached with guests names on it or have the name written on the shell?! Is this just a waste of money? Having the name engraved on the shell kind of makes it like a 2nd favour, and I dont really need a 2nd favour! The 1st one is good enough on its own! I'm swaying more to just using the tag on the buckets and attacing them with a blue and/or green ribbon. Less for us to take back to Florida in March and it will save us some money too! I asked DF what he thought but he has no opinion so it's down to me!! :)

We weren't originally going to have a bridal tea party but in the end I just couldnt resist! :goodvibes I was a bit worried about whether or not we'd actually be able to afford it but my nan left us £1000 when she passed away and left specific instructions that it had to be used for the wedding.
My nan loved tea so I decided using it for the tea party would be the best way to honour her wishes, as I know she would of just loved it if she had been there!
My mum spoke to her designer at work who came up with a rough idea for a 'save the date' invite. This is what he came up with...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Teapartyinvite.jpg
You cant see it very well but the cupcake is 3D and there are coloured gems on some of the circles around the outside. I really loved it and we were going to use it as the 'save the date' until my mum came up with a great idea!!
At one of our local shopping centres there is a fabulous cup cake place called buttercup cake shop (check it out at www.buttercupcakeshop.co.uk (http://www.buttercupcakeshop.co.uk) - they are so yummy!!) :goodvibes My mum said why dont we get an individually boxed cupcake for each guest (there's only going to be 11 of us and 4 are children) and hand deliver them to each guest as the invite!! I absolutely love this idea!! Im not sure if I'm still going to use the original invite aswell or just write the invite on the inside of the box lid!?
I am super excied about this and cannot wait to go out and buy them! :yay:
They do so many flavours...Im really note sure what to go for?! :confused3 I guess it should be something a bit more basic, like chocolate, just to make sure everyone will like them!

Why is it, something good cant happen without something bad happening too? :confused3
DF and I have been super lucky with everything to do with the wedding...except when it comes to our guests!
The drama first started a while ago when DFs family said they weren't coming! They wanted us to change the month to October, for a number of reasons, all of which suited them more than anyone else and needless to say I didnt want to do this, but it's DFs family and I had to think, would I get married without my family? DF and I sat down and talked about it and the options were 1, delay the wedding until Oct 2011, 2, have the wedding in the UK or 3, stick with the original plan and go without his family. It didnt take DF long to decide to stick with the original plan (big sigh of relief from me! :)) DF and his older brother had been emailing back and fourth about it, neither backing down.
I didnt see why we had to change our plans for other people you know? At this same time my sister and her DH were having money troubles and mentioned delaying the wedding until May 2011, it was an idea, but we refused in the end. I told everyone in 2007 we were getting married in Disney in 2011 so as far as I was concerned everyone had had more than enough time to start saving!
We had to go round to DFs parents house for dinner one night and tell them we weren't delaying the wedding. It went ok, but they still didnt change their mind. They weren't prepared to back down on anything. They wanted to go for 3weeks, they wanted to fly with Virgin so they could check in at DTD before the flight home and they wanted to stay at a particualr hotel on the I Drive. I can kind of understand them wanting to make sure they got everything they wanted as it's their holiday too but I just couldnt help thinking they should put their sons wedding first!
It didnt take long for my sister to confirm they were coming (thanks to my parents paying for not only the villa for all of us but also paying for the 2 kids flights aswell and not to mention the amount of overtime her DH was doing to get some extra money) For a good few months we planned the wedding as if DFs family weren't going to be there and then one day, they decided they were going to come! :banana:They were only going to come for 1week, but they were going to be there to see their son get married and I was so happy to see DF so happy :goodvibes Then just a few short weeks after they booked, DFs dad died suddenly. It was awful and very unexpected! His family are all doing really well and are now looking at maybe coming for 10 days, if money allows.
So just when things with his family start to look up, we find out neither the BM or MOH have any money saved up!! We have just over 4 months until we get married. As far as Im concerned everyone should be booked by now!! Only the families have booked so far but one of our friends and his wife and kids will be booking at the end of the month so thats good, BUT we're still waiting for BM, MOH and photographer! And not only is it driving me crazy that no one seems to be taking it seriously but im getting seriously worried that maybe they aren't going to come! Am I being totally irrational and blowing this all out of proportion?!
My MOH sent me a message on FB yesterday to tell me her parents couldnt help her out and she was either going to borrow the money from her ex (which is a very generous offer from him) or get a loan (I know, a loan! I dont want her to get herself into debt for our wedding!) now, I feel bad about this, but I told her I needed confirmation that she had booked her flight by December 1st as we need to pay Disney December 8th. Thats not strictly true. But if she isnt going to come I'll need to find a new MOH (I'll most likely ask my sister) but then I'll need time to go and find my sister a dress and everything! I know I can make changes up till quite late but I dont want to. I want to know that its all sorted you know?
DF is going to let his BM know the same thing. It sounds like he's also going to ask his parents to help him out. Fingers crossed they can!
We're also waiting to hear on a friend and his GF. Our friend Jay works with our photogrpaher and BM for our BM's dad. Our photographer and BM have already got the time booked off work but Jay is having trouble. His boss apparently doesnt like him too much and is giving him a hard time about having the time off. He only wants 5 days. Personally I cant see the issue but its not my decision I guess! Jay should find out some time in Nov so fingers crosed its all good for him and his GF otherwise there's even more people to take off the list!
Well, thats my rant over! Sorry its a bit long I just had to get it out!!

Me too! They will be missing out (although I hope they get it together enough to be there!) Its so frustrating as I have no control over it! People are dropping like flies! I'll be disappointed if they dont make it but at the end of the day aslong as DF and I are there thats all that matters. I just want to marry him! :)

Getting phone calls in the middle of the night is never good but that was the first time it was actually serious. Ive still got both my parents so Ive no idea how DF feels. I can try to understand but its not the same. We are still trying to include/honour his dad during the wedding though. We have some calla lilies for his chair. DF bought father of the groom cufflinks and he'll actually be wearing them on the day and he'll also have a photo of him in a small frame (found on etsy) on the inside of his jacket.
I totally agree with you about the family. Mine are all booked and if the others dont make it its their loss at least I'll know the really important people will be there.

So today I finally got some good news!! :goodvibes
Our friends Paul & Hayley, the parents of 2 of our little bridesmaids, booked their flights and accom for the wedding today!! YAY!
I'm sooo happy as at least I know our bridesmaids will be there and maybe this will give the others the kick up the bum that they need!! :rotfl:
They are flying out on March 3rd and will be there for 2 weeks. Other good news is that they have a 3 bed villa so have offered the other room to 2 friends (actually Pauls brother and his husband) as they weren't originally going to come to the wedding as they only got married themselves in July so couldnt get all the money together to come to Florida but now they dont have to pay for accom so they might be coming too!! Double yay!:banana:
Hayley is super excited as she's never been to America before. They booked all their Disney tickets and Sea world too! They have even got tickets for Discovery Cove as she has always wanted to swim with dolphins. Im so glad they have booked but also so glad they are really making the most out of it and doing everything they want!!
Still waiting for MOH, BM and photographer to book but right now Im just happy that someone has booked!

That's great news! I was so excited when our first guests booked.
How did they get their disney tickets? Through the wedding discount, or another way?

Our families have been booked a while but this was the first friends that booked and I'm still really excited that they have! :goodvibes
They got their Disney tickets through a TA...even though I've been chasing them Disney still havent updated the website so we cant get our tickets for next year through them. A lot of people are getting restless and are buying them elsewhere. I think Im going to have to chase them again...I was told on 4th Oct that it'd been done within 2weeks but its still not!

So I was going to go to bed as it's 11pm and I'm tired and Ive got work tomorrow but I cant sleep..for some unknown reason tonight I went to see Saw 3D with DF, sister and BIL. I spent most of the film with my eyes closed! I was so scared!! :scared: It was so not worth the £10.50 we had to pay! Plus £1 for the glases (which we get to keep for some reason - Im not planning on watching any more 3D films! They make me feel sick!)
Not much has happened on the wedding front. We sent a group email to everyone coming to the wedding letting them know they need to confirm their flights are booked by Dec 1st. I feel mean but its got to be done. I need to confirm numbers and to be honest, Im getting fed up of waiting! Yes I've turned into super impatient bride!!
I decided to chase up Disney about the wedding website/Disney tickets and I got a super quick reply from Carol. She says it'll be updated in plenty of time for Xmas...we shall see! She also said Jessie (her assistant) had moved back home to be closer to her family so she has a new assistant now...hopefully she'll be as good as Jessie!! :)
Ive also got my amended budget/BEO...I want to sign and send it back but I cant...*** I need to wait for flight confirmtion from everyone! Its not too long to wait I suppose. I just dont like waiting! Hopefully we'll get some good news soon!
My MOH emailed me at work today. She said...I need to see you (amongst other things) Ive taken that as a bad sign. :worried: But I guess I could be wrong? Again, I guess I'll just have to wait and see!!
Good news is though that the dollar has gone up to 1.62...thats great news as we were working an an exchange rate of 1.50!! We have to pay Disney Dec 8th so fingers crossed it gets even better!! :goodvibes

Yeah I'm impatient about people booking too. My RSVP date was on Monday, and we haven't had many people let us know. I don't want to chase people either, if they can't let us know, then they're not coming! Simple as that
I'd like the tickets to be available already too, with the AU$ being so good everyone wants everything paid for now, so most of them are looking into just buying tickets elsewhere.

Yeah I agree! Ive got a few more weeks to hear from a few more people so we'll see what happens! Ive offered my MOH our room inmy families villa whilst we are at AKV. So that added to the 2 nights my parents have given evenyong at BCV thats 4 nights she doesnt have to pay for so hopefully she'll say yes!!
Some of my guests have started buyig tickets elsewhere too. To be honest I cant believe they didnt have 2011 on the site when I first got it in May...they had 2009 though?! Bizzare!

I feel your pain!!! I would be going out of my mind if my guests had not booked yet. Luckily for me, my VR is quite small and I only have fourteen guests and all the flights and accomodations (plus DDP and tickets) are all booked. Balances need to be paid for accommodation packages in March but all the flights for everybody are all paid. It is a relief!!! I hope all your's are sorted soon!!

So while I anxiously wait to hear if my final 5 will be joining us at the wedding or not I thought I'd show you a pic of the dress we're (hopefully) getting my MOH! I dont have a pic of her wearing it as I found it at Davids Bridal when I was away in April and she wasn't with us but here's the link to it...
http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Cotton-Sateen-Strapless-with-Ruching-and-Pockets-83312_Bridal-Party-Bridesmaids-Shop-By-Color
It wont be in this colour though...it will be in cornflower blue.
We did have a look at some shops in the UK for a dress but this one is perfect so we gave up looking over here and have decided to wait until we fly over in March to get it (nothing like leaving it till the last minute eh?!)

I have got accessories but as DF reads this sometimes I didnt want to post those pics as he doesnt want to see them yet! (maybe thats why mum didnt send me any from the front?!)

Im off work sick...again...and Ive not got too much to post about but I did think I'd let you all know that our friend Jay (who we've been waiting to hear from about if he can get the time off work or not) got the time off! YAY! So both he and his GF Jo will be joining us for the wedding!
We found out Thursday and were told the same day that our photographer and BM were going out Sat to book their flights! Unfortnately that didnt happen as our BM didnt turn up/had other plans (not really sure which) but either way he wasnt there so they couldnt book! Our photographer is looking at hostels/cheap hotels to stay at (not really my cup of tea but each to their own!) so hopefully he'll book soon! Im seeing my MOH on Wednesday so hopefully I'll get some good news om her too!! I cant wait for the wedding but I have to say I also cant wait for all this drama with guests flights to be over with too!!

I am soooo excited because I've just arranged DF's wedding present! :goodvibes I so wish I could tell you all what it is but DF reads this so I have to keep quiet! Not an easy thing for me to do! So to stop my blabbing about his surprise I thought I'd let you know about the places we're thinking of eating whilst we are away! (I am so hungry already...this isnt going to help but here we go anyway!)
We dont normally eat at Disney as we dont often stay on property. We're big fans of Perkins, Bob Evans, Applebees, Bahama Breeze, Long Horn etc We just dont have places like them over here! So DF and I thought we should make our Disneymoon special and do things/eat at places we wouldnt normally do!
We know we are def eating at California Grill on 19th March (its my birthday and we are staying at the Contemporary that night) but we'd also like to do the Fantasmic dinner package and eat at The Hollywood Brown Derby..has anyone eaten there before? It sounds really nice and DF loves Fantasmic! He also wants to go to eat at the Coral Reef restuarant at Epcot. I really really want to go to Le Cellier. Ive heard such great things about it but Im not sure we can fit it in! :confused3 We are eating at Jiko after the safari when we stay at AKL and again I've heard lots of good things so Im really looking forward to that! One other place Id really like to eat is the 50s Prime Time Diner at Hollywood Studios...Ive not eaten there before and it just looks great!!
Ok, Im starving now! I really want pizza but Ive only got 6p in the account and thats not going to go far! Hmm...DF just got home from work...lets see what he says!!

I have done the 'Dine with an Imagineer' at the the Hollywood Brown Derby and the food was amazing!!! It was about three years ago though. I also love the Coral Reef!! It is DS's favourite. He is ten and when we eat there, he spends the whole meal up and down to the fish tanks!!! Two years ago, we ate there on his birthday and arranged for a diver in one of the tanks to hold up a message saying 'Happy Birthday Alfie'. He was so thrilled and still talks about it to this day!!

My MOH came round for dinner last night. I dont think anyone really wanted to bring up the whole flight situation but it didnt take long for it to pop up!
There we were eating our sausage and mash (yum) and joking around and MOH says to DF 'have you got the dishwasher yet?' (long running joke) and DF says 'booked your flight yet?' Well that certainly broke the ice! MOH's ex BF is lending her the money for her flight (I think I mentioned that before?) only problem is...he cant give it to her until Jan!! :scared1: So basically she cant book her flight until end of Jan beginning of Feb! Im not too sure how I feel about this. We can only make changes upto 30 days before the wedding. It doesnt leave me a lot of time. And what if the ex decides he cant give her the money?! :confused3
On a happier note. Our friends Jay and Jo got their Tescos vouchers to pay for the flights (Tescos is a supermarket...you get points when you shop there and you can use the points for all sorts of things! They are using them to pay for flights!) So they will be booking soon so thats great! :thumbsup2 Still waiting on BM and photographer but hopefully with our friends booking it'll give the other 2 a kick up the bum!

Just a little update today to show you some of my purchases over the last few days! I got DF a little pressie. I mentioned previously that his dad passed away earlier in the year not long after booking their trip to Florida. I wanted to get DF something special to help keep his dad close on our wedding day. He's already planning on wearing the father of the groom cufflinks that he got for his dad but never actually got to give to him and then I got him this...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/memorialframe.jpg
I got it from Etsy which I have become totally addicted to!! It was such a bargain I couldnt not buy it!! ;) It says in the description that its for the brides bouquet but its got a handy little safety pin on it which means DF can pin it inside his jacket and have his dad close to him on our special day. I was going to give it to him at Christmas but I just couldnt wait so I gave it to him the minute I got it!! :rotfl:He loved it and is now on the hunt to find the perfect picture of his dad to put in it!
I also got myself a little something from Etsy...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/garter.jpg
Obviously it'll have our names and our wedding date on it though!!
My MOH got me a garter a while back. I was never planning on having one but both my MOH and DF said I had to (but I am NOT doing the whole toss the garter thing...I find it bizzare!!) Anyway, the garter she got me was really nice, but a bit too small...Im afraid I got the short end of the stick when I was born and where my sister got the nice long legs I got the short fat ones! :rotfl: So I got this garter from Etsy and Im having it made to fit me!
My next purchase I'm hoping to get is one of those lovely hangers that I see everyone on here getting! Infact, I'm off to hunt for it now!!

I think I've gone off my shoes. I loved them when I got them, but now, I'm not so sure! :confused3
So I decided to start looking around but I just cant find ANYTHING! :headache:
I have to have flat shoes as I had my dress taken up when I got it. I kind of wish I hadnt but I know it was for the best as there's just no way I would be been able to spend all day in heels! (Although I am changing into heels for just some of the photos - I love the photos people have of just their feet! Bizzare I know but I just love them! Its not just their feet...its just the bottom half. You know the ones, brides dress pulled up to show off her fabulous shoes and the grooms trousers pulled up to shoe his funky socks. I just love them! :goodvibes)
So anyway, Ive got these fabulous zebra print shoes...I love zebra print! :lovestruc I've had them a while and I just love them so they just have to make it into some of the wedding photos!! But I cant wear them all day so I have to find some others but its proving very difficult! With just over 3 months until we leave for Florida it doesnt leave me a huge amount of time but maybe I'll find something in the Xmas sales?!
BecBennett
11-24-2010, 06:01 PM
I know the feeling! There just dont seem to be many nice shoes about at the moment! I told my BM's that they just had to find strappy gold shoes to go with their dresses, and I was going to wear a closed in pair of gold heels, but couldn't find anything anywhere! My sister found a pair for herself and brought them over to show me, and I fell in love! :lovestruc They were perfect! The exact colour and material and with just the right amount of bling. so naturally I was extremely jealous! After a few more months of searching I stumbled across her shoes in a store, they're also the perfect height, so I emailed my sister asking her if she'd hate me if we wore the same shoes. She wasn't concerned, so I bought them! I love them so much!
3 months is still plenty of time, I suppose you've always got your back ups and your zebra prints, so keep looking, and if nothing comes up you'll be fine

I've been searching high and low for invites that I like for our at home reception. I didnt want to spend too much as, at the end of the day, they are only for the at home reception. People will probably just throw them out after they have read them!
So I found some on confetti that I liked. They werent what I originally wanted but they were only £2.10 each and you got free RSVP cards with them :thumbsup2 (I love a bargain!!) So I showed DF, he agreed to them and I thought, ok, I'll buy them over the next few days...but...when I asked DF if he wanted to send invites to all the people he works with, and used to work with, he couldnt decide!
He doesnt get to see the people in his old office very often so I thought...save some money and just email them (Im afraid thats what Im doing with my work lot!! :rotfl:) But DF didnt like that idea and decided he just couldnt talk about it as he wasnt 'with it' (he'd spent 6hrs xmas shopping and I think that kinda killed him!)
So when he did finally agree to sit down and talk about it he said he wanted to send invites to everyone and to add to that he wanted to invite more people! The price of our invites went up from £83 to £123. Its not a huge amount but hey, money is money right?! Then I remembered some invites I saw in a store called G store at one of our local shopping centres. I checked out their webiste and could get 8 invites for £5! BARGAIN!! :thumbsup2 DF then decided to tell me that he never liked the original invites I was going to buy but he did really like the cheap ones so I got them before he could change his mind!
They still arent what I really wanted and I'll have to make RSVP's to go out with them but they were so cheap and made me smile! Here's a pic of the front...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/weddinginvite.jpg
The're nothing fancy but they do the job. I dont have a pic of the inside but they say...
'We’ve decided to do some knot tying & would absolutely love you...To join us for the Best Bit of our day, venue…date...time...dress... to party – up our marriagement. Try not to laugh at our first dance & maybe drink some bubbles, Please say you’ll come & (R.S.V.P) to us as soon as you can.'
I think they are quite cute and they fit our personalitlies well. Im looking forward to them arriving so I can get them all sent out!! :goodvibes

I got an email from Carol yesterday to let me know our next payment of $11,000 is due Dec 8th...Bizzarely Im super excited to be paying this! (I know, weird right?! :rotfl:) I thought I'd just whack it on the credit card and then pay it off but when I called egg to let them know this was the plan they soon put a stop to it! They wouldnt temporarily increase my credit limit so when I said I'd just put the money on the card so I was in credit and then pay Disney they said if Im in credit they'll just transfer it to an external bank account! How annoying. Luckily I soon figured it out and transferred the money to my bank account and I'll just pay them with a different card! Sorted! My poor ISA is looking a bit worse for wear now though but I know its soooo going to be worth it!! :goodvibes
On other news, totally not wedding related...its snowing! Woo! We dont get snow very often but when we do...the country comes to a stand still!! We just dont deal well with snow! :rotfl: Here's a some pics of what I found when I woke up this morning...

I love snow :lovestruc but only when I dont have to go out in it!! I had to walk into work this morning which wasnt too bad as the snow was still nice and fluffy but it still took me 15mins more than usual. Work let me leave at 3pm too so I didnt have to walk in the snow in the dark but by then so many people had walked over it, it was all slushy and icey...not nice...I am not looking forward to walking into work tomorrow!! The snow is still going strong but Im now at home in my pj's with the fire on so its ok now!! :thumbsup2
Enough of my totally unwedding related babble! In other, more wedding realted news, our friends Jay and Jo have booked! Yay! Still waiting for MOH, BM and photographer to book though but MOH should be round thurs to book so we are getting there slowly but surely!!

Hi Kat
I hate snow and we have had 3 - 4 inches up here in the Lake District for the past 4 days!!!
It is still snowing on and off today and since I live in a 300 year old cottage with storage heaters and open fires (and no central heating), which is up a hilly farm track, it is becoming a real pain!!!
Oh well, just have to stay indoors in front of the fire and do wedding related things!!!:thumbsup2
Glad to hear there has been some more booking going on!! Especially since that big payment is due very soon. Makes it seem real eh?

Hiya! We've got about 8 inches now...it hasnt really snowed during the day but it's started again and Ive heard we could get upto another 20cms tonight! If thats the case I certainly wont be going to work tomorrow!
I can imagine that is becoming a real pain!! Im very grateful for my central heating and, pretty much, flat ground!
It really is becoming more real! In 3mths we'll be on our way! Super excited! :goodvibes

Ok, so I know I've complained about this A LOT on here but I'm so annoyed and I just need to vent so feel free to skip this post if you dont want to hear a lot of moaning!!
Twice my MOH has cancelled on me when she was supposed to come round so we could book her flight. First time she was sick (fair enough) 2nd time her car was snowed in (again, fair enough) but how is it she cant get her car out of the snow to come and see her best friend but she can get her car out to go round another friends to watch a movie and have a catch up??? Am I being unreasonable??? I've reached a point where I just want to say 'dont bother.' I honestly cant imagine my wedding day without her but she's thrown so many obstacles in the way...she didnt save any money because she kept moving and couldnt afford to/she doesnt want to fly alone/she doesnt want to stay alone etc...each time we overcome one issue another pops up!
We gave everyone a deadline of Dec 1st to book as we wanted to confirm numbers before we paid Disney on Dec 8th and my parents need to confirm everyones rooms with DVC, and surprise surprise we are STILL waiting for MOH, BM and photographer to book! I dont know what to do?! I dont want to pressure them into it but I'm seriously starting to lose the plot over of this! I just want them to tell me straight...are they coming or not?! Everytime we ask (and trust me we've asked a lot) they always say yes they are coming and that they wouldnt miss it. So if thats the case why, with just 3 months to go, have they not booked?
DF said he'll send the 3 of them a message over the next few days to try and get it sorted out because honestly, I'm afraid of what I'll say to them if I have to do it!
I'll be really upset and disappointed if they cancel but at least I'll finally know. I've got no issues getting a new MOH, BM and photographer (well, photographer may be a bit difficult with so little time to go but I'm sure I could find someone!) In fact both DF and I know exaclty who we'd ask but until we get some answers we're stuck in limbo!
I guess we'll see what happens after DF sends this message to them (it'd be easier to get together but thats near on impossible!) Maybe I'll get some good news soon eh?!
Thanks for listening. Sometimes I just dont know what I'd do without these boards!!

We have two months and some change to go and I have an aunt and uncle who haven't booked flights OR Disney stay and another uncle who hasn't booked his flight. I feel your pain. None of our other guests can BELIEVE that they haven't booked yet. I freaked out about it for the longest time and finally got my mom to call....they're coming, they just don't feel they need to book yet (?!). It's not the money.
Different strokes for different folks ;)
But yes, it's SOOOOOO annoying!

I'm sorry to hear that but good news that they are coming! I am glad Im not the only one having problems with people actually booking though! When I go to Florida we book a year in advance...we save for ages and we get it all planned out early. I guess I just dont understand why someone would want leave it so late?! Its a big, expensive holiday for us which is why we gave everyone so much notice. I guess our wedding is just not as important to some as it is for others! I just thought for MOH, BM and photogapher it would be!
DF has sent them a message, so fingers crossed eh?!

Aww Kat this is really really frustrating!!!
I would be going absolutely mad by now!!
I guess you will just have to throw down the ultimatum and say 'if it's not booked by (whenever), we will regretfully have to find other friends to fill these roles'. You need to be sure. The photographer, especially, needs to be settled. I am sure you have lots of friends who will be honoured to be a MOH or BM, but the photographer is a little more tricky!!!
Lots of : and :hug:and I really hope this gets sorted for you soon

Yeah, I'm in that boat too... My sister was telling me the other day that it's such a headache that she only has 3 months to organise everything. I didn't bother pointing out to her that she's known for 2 years. I do have other people who have booked flights but nothing else, and they just seem to think that rooms are just always going to be available. I've given up caring, I've tried helping them and making suggestions the whole way through this, but they're clearly the wait and see what happens type of planners. Eeep! I could not do that!!

So I was browsing the boards at the weekend and stumbled across one I hadnt read before (nickandlarisa -I loved looking through all the pictures, it really was a beautiful wedding!) As I was scanning the pictures I saw we have the same guestbook (great minds think alike eh?!) and I absolutely fell in love with the stand she had her's on...and I want one!! Ive sent a pic to DF and my mum who are now on the hunt to find one! I hadnt really thought about what I'd do wth it to be honest...I just kind of thought I'd leave it on the table and let people take a page each to do there thing on but having it in a stand makes so much difference!! My mum being the total superstar that she is has found some and there's one I really like..but not sure Im totally in love with it so we'll keep looking I guess! Of course if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated!! ;)

OK so this is not strictly wedding related but it is holiday related so I thought I'd share...everytime we go to Florida we always eat at Perkins on the first night after we've dropped all our suitcases off at wherever it is we are staying, and the wedding trip will be no exception! (Even if the kiddies are asleep we're still going!!) I always get the same thing too, an appetiser sampler, but not this year as bizzarely they added deep fried green beans and took away the onion rings...odd?!
Anyway, let me get back to the point!
I went out with DF, my mum, dad, sister and brother in law for our family Christmas meal last night and after we had sat down and had our pictures taken with the stick on moustaches they supplied (see below! We were at a mexca resturant!)
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/family.jpg
mum handed us all an envelope and told us to open them at the same time. Now we've all dreamt of this moment...getting an envelope and opening it to find a cheque for an obscene amount of money because they've won the lotto...its never happened and it didnt this time either! :rotfl: BUT we did find this...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/perkins.jpg
with $10...enough to pay for whatever it is we want to eat at Perkins...and a cherry coke of course (I dont know what it is about cherry coke in Florida but its sooo much better than ours and I drink it everywhere!!)
Mum got $20 in hers and her piece of paper said 'because I like you more' :rotfl: well she did do them herself! It certainly made us smile and think about what we'll eat on that first night...and we dont have long to go now either!! :goodvibes

I have been looking everywhere for a dress to wear to my bridal tea party and its just not happening! Ive been looking forever and I still havent found anything but I'm going shopping Wednesday so maybe I'll find something then?! Who knows?!
A few days ago, while browsing the internet, I got bored of dress hunting and decided to look at other peoples tea parties. For inspiration. I found one that I was ooo'ing and ahh'ing over and sent some of the pics to mum so she could do the same! Later on I went to bed and was very nearly asleep when all of a sudden I realised...Warren has never sent me the budget for the centrepieces/linens/chair covers etc!! :scared1: Dont ask me how I managed to not notice for so long! :confused3 I just didnt! So I got up and emailed Warren about it (it was like, 11pm, there was no way I was going to be able to sleep until I had emailed him!)
He got back to me today, really, he's such a numpty. Im sure he just doesnt pay any attention to me!! He said to me 'shall I price up the blue, green and brown like the pictures I sent you?' Umm, no. Warren please re read the numerous emails I sent you on this subject...Im going for the bright colours! Hot pink, lime green, orange. There's no sludgey brown in there! I've emailed him back today with my inspiration pictures. He said he'll put it together asap but really, Im not expecting to hear back from him until after Christmas!! If I do I'll be pleasantly surprised!!
It makes me wonder what else Ive forgotten?!

Its always the way isnt it?! And once it's in there...there's no way I'm sleeping till its sorted!! I'm so glad I realised though...can you imagine turning up with all my girls and just having nothing there?! :scared1: That would not of been good!! I get totally bridezilla when I dont get replies to my emails...I just take it out on DF and the girls at work! :rotfl:! I've learnt not to expect much when it comes to Warren. He's not the quickest at replying so im now trying not to get stressed out when it takes him soooo long to get back to me! But who knows...maybe I'll be surprised this time?!

It doesnt matter how many times I read everything from them...I guarantee I will end up sending a handful of emails to make changes. I can never remember it all in one go! Its terrible! Yesterday I thought...I'll email Warren back about the tea party and tell him to add a hidden mickey for DFs bout. 5mins later I send the email...I didnt tell him about the hidden mickey though so had to send another email! I wonder if I drive them as insane as I drive myself?! :rotfl:

Well I guess he proved me wrong! I got home from work today and had not 1 but 2 emails from Warren! Mind you, he didnt prove me that wrong as he did make a mistake but easily fixable and I wont complin about it...much!
So here we go, here's the breakdown for the tea party...
Resort to provide white floor lenght linens for roman table
3x 90x90 lime green solid linen for overlay on roman table $33
11 neon pink solid chair covers with 4x periwinkle, 4x lime green and 4x tangerine solid sash tied in a bow $93.50
1x lime green solid sash tied in a bow around highchair $4.50
12 napkins - 4x periwinkle, 4x tangerine and 4x neon pink folded flat $12
4x teapots evenly spaced down table $20
4x arrangement of bright, colourful floral made in each teapot to include gerbera daisies $300
1x lollipop arrangement made in colourful terra cotta pots placed in centre of table $70
Total with tax $567.65 Bargain!!
Im super happy with the cost. I was thinking upto around $1000 (I over estimate everything...makes me feel much better when I get the actual cost through!! :rotfl:)
The only change is to remove one chair so the cost is going to go down! Woo! I kind of feel like I want to add other things now but I dont think DF will let me! I'd like to add a character but Im not going to ask him...not yet anyway!
Obviously there are other costs, like the activity bags Im going to make for the 4 kiddies but Im not going to do that until I get over there. Im thinking I'd like place cards now too so I may speak to Warren about that! Im also going to buy some cheshire cat cuddly toys and have them placed around and then the kids can take them home! Im getting super excited about it all now! Not that I wasnt before but it just seems more real now!! :goodvibes

Im sooo excited because Ive finally found my tea party dress! Yay! :banana:It cost a little more than what I planned but I dont care *** its perfect and I love it! If its here in time I may even wear it for Christmas day!
So here it is...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/dress.jpg
I dont think the picture really does it justice (they never do) but you get the idea.
Whilst I was shopping for the dress, I found some shoes...and a bag :goodvibes but I cant decide which shoes I want so I need your help!
Here are my choices...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/shoes2.jpg

http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/shoes3.jpg
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/shoes4.jpg
As you can see Im totally decided on black or red shoes just cant pick which?! :confused3 Im kind of going more towards the second ones because they have a matching bag...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/bag.jpg
And if picking shoes to match the dress wasnt hard enough, then I started to think what do I want to do with my hair? And more importantly what do I put IN my hair?!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/hairband1.jpg
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/flower1.jpg

This is harder than buying my wedding dress I think!! :rotfl:

Do any of you happen to know if any of the planners actually come on here and read what we write?! :confused3
I just got an email out of the blue from Warren, and at the end he said 'sometimes I can be such a numpty.' Now if we look back just a few days ago I said 'he's such a numpty.'
Coincidence or not?! Either way Im sooo embarassed!!
DF thinks numpty is an English saying...I have to say I've never heard anyone in America say it but that might just be beacuse they've never had a reason to when Im around?! For my own sanity I hope he's wrong...I kind of want to ask Warren...but dont want to incase Im way wrong!! I'll just try and put it to the back of my mind for now and I promise I wont say anything mean about him again!! He's actually been pretty great...just a tad slow sometimes at getting back to me!! (well thats slow in bride terms which means anything that takes longer than a few minutes!! :rotfl:)

I felt a little bad, but made a quick mention of it in my reply letting her know I didn't think she was taking too long, that I was just impatient...
I think some times the DFTW people do read the boards, and it does seem like a pretty big coincidence, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I have never heard the term numpty before but if I were working in DFTW, I think the DISboards would be a great place to see how I am doing and to get more of an idea on what my brides wanted. Don't be embarrassed though, it is a good wake-up call for them if they are falling short of expectations, Disney always wants to exceed them. ;)

OK so this post isnt wedding related at all but Im posting it anyway!
I have lived only a 40min train ride away from London all my life. Ive been into the City a lot but I've never done the tourist thing and actually gone and seen the sights...unless you can count Dior, Tiffany and Harrods as sights?! :rotfl: But last night DF and I and some of his friends travelled upto London to see our (new) friends Rob & Lauren. For the first time in 26years I walked over Tower Bridge...and how excited was I?! :goodvibes I know thats probably totally stupid but I dont care! I was so excited I took some pictures...
First up we have The Tower of London...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2010-12-18181443.jpg
...Ive seen this many times leaving the station to go to the underground so I wasnt as excited about this one!
Ive got several photos leading up to the bridge but I'll just show you up close!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2010-12-18181836.jpg
Then on the way home later that night I got a pic of HMS Belfast all lit up...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Photo0145.jpg
And then one of our friends (funnily enough our wedding photographer) took a pic on my phone of DF and I with the bridge in the background...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Photo0151.jpg
We got a few others but I wont bore you with those! I was so excited by the whole thing Ive made DF promise to take me to London again for more sight seeing! I'd really love to go on one of the red open top buses in the summer so maybe we'll get to do that next year!

I love doing touristy things! Just like you, never do them at home unless someone comes to town, but still, there's not really anything to do here anyway :lmao:

Oh I love your pics from your "touristy" trip to London. :cloud9:
I was fortunate enough to visit a few years back and just fell in love with the city. You must go to the British Museum if you haven't already. What a fabulous place.
I love Perkins pies too! They are the best. Love the mustaches in your pic. :rotfl:

Just a little update today! After reading the long and detailed to do list that BecBennett posted it got me kinda worried...Ive no idea what Ive still got left to do!! So I sat down and started writing things out and it got pretty long so I totally went for it today and got some stuff done!
Yay
Firsty I booked my cat Toby into the cattery and then I emailed Carolyn Allens to arrange a time for them to come and steam my dress. They were super quick at responding and the only time they could fit me in on the morning of the wedding is 7:30am so I booked it! Another job done! :thumbsup2 Then I emailed Warren as I finally decided I needed to know about the chairs for the pre reception and dessert party...Im having total nightmares about them :scared1: Well, he sent me a picture and it didnt take long (all of 5 seconds) for me to email back and arrange chair covers and sashes to cover them up! :rotfl: I've also now arranged for boutonniers for everyone coming to the wedding (something DF has been bugging me about forever!!)
So I feel quite satisfied today! Ive got a few things ticked off my to do list (which I'll try and post over the next few days) If I dont get back on here before Christmas (which is highly unlikely as DF is at work tomorrow and Fri and Im not and apart from baking sausage rolls and mince pies and a quick trip into town tomorrow Ive got nothing else planned!) I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!! :goodvibes

I'm glad someone was able to use my to do list, because I sure haven't!! :lmao:
My Toby is going to be looked after by our neighbour, which is a mixed blessing, because we don't have to worry about it, but usually when we come back from a long weekend our house reeks of uneaten rotting cat food  so I don't want to think about what it's going to be like after 3 weeks!! :scared1:
So today I bought a bunch of cat food satchets, and I'm going to see if he has better luck feeding my two cats using that method. How hard can it be to give them 1 satchet each a day? :confused3 As apposed to a can each a day, which I have suspicions is what he's actually doing...
Christmas is the tester, if he passes that I'll be comfortable letting him do it for the wedding...
That sounds terrible! He's doing us such a huge favour, and all I can think of is "I don't want my house to smell" :rotfl:
I hope you have a Merry Christmas too!

Well done crossing more things off the list Kat!!
I think boutineers for everyone at the wedding is quite a British thing - and a southern thing as well. When I moved up here to Cumbria, I discovered that they only buy them for the wedding party.

I hope you all had a great Christmas! :) I know I did (it was very tiring but I still had a fab time!)
Here is a pic of DF & I on Boxing Day
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/IMG_0009.jpg
This year DF and I didnt spend Christmas day together :scared1: and I have to say I wont be doing it again! We only spent it apart as this was the first Christmas without his Dad so he wanted to be there for his mum and I have a young neice and nephew who I wanted to be with so we agreed to spend it apart. I love my neice to bits but my god is she loud, demanding and just very very tiring!! It was still great though and I wouldnt of wanted to be anywhere else! (I just wanted DF there too!!)
I got lots of lovely pressies and thought I'd share some of my more wedding related gifts with you!!
Before I do though, I wanted to share a pic of my nephew Stevie. He's 15 months and I just love him to bits! :lovestruc He's the only little boy in our family so as you can imagine we all dote on him! I mentioned in an ealirer post about us being unsure if he'd be walking down the aisle as we werent sure he'd be walking but he is now and there's no stopping him!!:rotfl: Its not the greatest pic as I took it on my phone but you can still see what a cutie he is! Especially in his little shirt and tie! I'll post one of my neice later too when I download the pics from the camera!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2010-12-25133006.jpg
I got this frame from my sister & brother in law and I totally love it!! Im going to put it on the mantle piece above the fireplace when we have a pic for it! I have so many photo frames sitting in drawers waiting for pics from the wedding...this one will be added to the collection!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2010-12-27113400.jpg
I got this bracelet from my mum & dad for the wedding too. The picture is not good at all though so you cant really see how beautiful and sparkly it is! It's from swarovski and it will look fab with my dress!!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2010-12-27113320.jpg
And then my last wedding related gift was from my sister & brother in law again. Its magnets that spell out our wedding date!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2010-12-27122627.jpg
I thought that was so cute and unique! I put them on the fridge as soon as I got home!!
There's one other present that I havent got a pic of though...every year I ask DF for the same thing for Christmas...diamond earrings. I dont wear earrings very much as my ears are really sensitive so I normally have to wear surgical steel but I always ask for a nice pair I can wear everyday. After we'd finished opening all our presents (which took us in to the middle of boxing day as we had soooo many!) We had lunch and were playing some games when DF bought out one more present (for me much to my surprise and delight!) It was quite big and wrapped in tinfoil :rotfl:(if anyone in the UK watches Gavin & Stacey you may remember that from their Christmas special!) I ripped the tin foil off to find another box...well there were boxes in boxes in more boxes (some of the boxes were mine from home, like little jewellery boxes etc that DF had sneaked out the house!) Well I finally got to the end and had a little wooden box which I opened to find a pair of beautiful diamond earrings! :goodvibes I havent taken them out yet. I love them and they are perfect and Im so happy that after 7yrs he finally got the hint (not that I was ever very subtle!!) Im sure theres a pic on the camera so I'll put it on here when Ive downloaded the pics!
I hope you all have a great New Years Eve if I dont pop back on before then although Im sure I will!!

Ok just re-catching up with all your planning. You are on a roll. I love the dress you picked out for your tea and i love the 2nd pair of red shoes. But than again I like colored shoes. I was sorry to read that you were still having trouble with people booking, you would think they would want to get it done and outta the way quickly.
Also I love the touristy pics. I've lived 20 mins from NYC my whole life but I've only done very few touristy things. I was just telling DF we should take a weekend and be "tourists". It sounds like you enjoyed yourselves.
I'm sorry to hear what happened with your wedding planner but that's kinda funny. :lmao: I'm sure some of them take a peek at these just to see what's going on with their brides. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

I certainly am on a roll! Now Christmas is over :sad1: I can really focus on the wedding! The only other things I have to think about between now and March is my Dads birthday in Jan and DF's in Feb!
Thank you, I love my dress too! I wore it Christmas day but with ugg boots...doesnt have quite the same effect though as a pair of fabulous heels!!
I have to say I thougt the same thing...if it were the other way round I'd of wanted to book ages ago and get it out of the way. But at least now everyone except MOH has booked and she should know this week if she's coming or not so fingers crossed!!
I love NY! I went once after I spent the summer at Camp Kindering...I just didnt have nearly enough time to do everything!! It was great fun in London and I cant wait to do it again!
I have to say since the whole 'numpty' incident he's been amazingly quick at replying to me so maybe it was a blessing in disguise?!

It's simple but very sparkly and fits well with my other jewellery which is much more fussy.
I also found the cutest pic of my nephew (with a pic of my neice Laura in the background - but you cant see her too well as its a bit dark) whilst uploading pics off my camera and I just had to share it!! Im totally biased but he's just gorgeous!! :lovestruc

I am sooo excited to say that I'm getting married this year!! It's been the opening line in all my new year messages!! I have to admit we actually missed the beginning of new year (I blame big bens chimes not being loud enough!!) it was certainly nothing to do with the large amount of alcohol consumed and the yelling and general excitement that started when my dad called! (poor dad is a security guard for Ford motor company and is currently working a 12hr night shift and won't be home until tomorrow morning!) i didn't even get a chance to speak to DF as he is with his family and the battery on his phone is dead so I've taken myself to bed (my neices mini bed that is) and I'm hoping to sleep off the alcohol and general tiredness that has now caught up with me! I hope everyone has all had/having a great new years eve!! Back to wedding planning tomorrow - I have an email from Warren sitting in my inbox which currently I am just too tired/drunk/squashed in tiny bed to read so I will save that for tomorrow!! Something to look forward too!

Well I took a page out of BecBennett's book and sat down and wrote out my to do list before Christmas! It was longer than I realised and worried me so I got down to it and started ticking things off!!
Since then however, I havent actually done anything else off my list :rotfl:
I've got some time on my hands this afternoon as DF is playing his xbox (we got a new tv today - much bigger than what we had before and of course he had to try it out straight away!! :happytv:) so I thought I'd share with you what I have left to do (and please feel free to point things out if I've missed something obvious!!)
It's broken down into 3 sections - things to do BEFORE we leave for Florida, things to do whilst IN Florida but BEFORE the wedding and things to do for the at home reception (some of which need to be done BEFORE we fly to Florida!)
Things to do at home
Welcome newsletter - Since writing that we've decided to do a calender of events instead (to give to guests before we go with all their Disney hotel info - we're actually making luggage tags too and sending it all out in an envelope made to look like a suitecase) as most of our guests arrive between March 1st and March 6th and we aren't giving them the welcome bags until we check into Disney on March 7th .
Confirm date for dress steaming - all done and booked for 8th March @ 7:30am (:scared1: far too early as the wedding isnt until 2:30pm but thats the only time that Carolyn Allens could fit me in that day!)
Pay remaining money to Disney
Put ceremony music on ipod
Learn dance for first dance :dance3: - My aunt is actually going to teach us a dance. She used to do ballroom dancing and she's pretty good and as she cant be with us on the day we thought having her teach us our first dance is a nice way of having a bit of her there on the day
Check guests have sorted ESTA’s
Do seating plan - it's done in my head! I just need to write it down!
DF to finish kids favours
Get something borrowed
Photography ‘must have’ list
Get hair cut/coloured - now all booked for 26th Feb
Start packing - I wont actually start this until about 26th Feb!
Assign wedding day jobs
DF to finish logo and print/put on welcome bags
Tea Party invites/cupcakes - Im making the invites tomorrow!
DF to make list of songs for DJ
Sort out MOH!
DF to book hire car
Things to do in Florida
Buy items for Welcome bags - We have some stuff but we'll be making a trip to Walmart to finish them off
Buy/fill tea party & reception activity bags for the kids (Michaels/Walmart here we come!!)
Buy favours (just a quick trip to DTD to buy Mickey & Minnie ornaments
Buy vinylmation mickeys x2
Buy princess dresses x4
Buy MOH dress, shoes, accessories etc
Buy nephews suit
Buy BM and parents gifts
Get marriage licence
DF, BM and Dad to sort suits
Things to do for at home reception
Buy or make RSVPs
Register
Send out invites - Cant do this until we've registered as we need the info to send out with the invites!
Get final numbers and pay remaining money to venue
Pick menu
DF to confirm DJ
Look into cost of fireworks
Signature photo frame x3
Buy favours
Print wedding photos and put in frames and decorate for table decorations
Buy petals to scatter on tables
So thats the list at the moment...it kinda scares me when I look at it but I guess a lot of it isnt very time consuming so I shoud be able to get it all done in time! DF has his own to do list and its not very long and he's only done like, 2 things off it!! He's so laid back it drives me crazy! I just want it all done!

01-02-2011, 05:42 PM
Today I can tick another thing off my to do list...my MOH. I wish I could be happy that it's all sorted but it's just created a whole lot of other issues instead!
Just a quick re cap for everyone...I've been waiting for months for my MOH to book...she told me a few weeks ago she was waiting until her bf got his bonus...he needed his bonus for a deposit on a house but had offered to lend her the money for Florida IF he had enough left over. Well he got his bonus, and it was quite a lot, but not enough for him to be able to give her the money for her flight. So today she text me to tell me she isn't coming. Well, actually thats not strictly true, he MAY have the money for her in Feb. But I get married in March! I cannot wait until Feb to know if she can come. So we have agreed we will assume she isn't coming. She's really upset, and so am I, to an extent. I'm relieved to finally know. And now I'm free to ask my sister to be my MOH! :goodvibes I know she'll say yes...even though the thought of it will probably terrify her! :rotfl: My sister can be quite shy, hmmm, I'm not shy is the right word?! She doesnt really like getting lots of attention (although I think she secretly enjoyed it when she got married a few yeas ago!) I was her maid of honour then and I was really honoured and proud and I know she'll feel the same (even if her knees are shaking when she's standing up there with me - yep, she's a knee shaker!) DF is going to drive me over to hers tomorrow so I can ask her (I'd like to add she's the 3rd person I've asked!! 3rd times a charm right?!)
In preperation of asking her I thought I'd look at the dresses again on Davids Bridal. This is where the problem lies. The original dress we were going to get was strapless. My sister, bless her and I'm sure she wont mind me saying this, has the biggest b***s!! Im not joking...DF and I once put her bra on our heads...we had a cup each and there was still room!! :rotfl: So she cant wear a strapless dress, there's just not enough support there for her!! So I checked out the halter necks (she wore a halter neck dress for her wedding so I know that's a good choice) problem is there are hardly any halterneck dresses in the right colour! :scared1: Our other problem is, the women in our family are, shall we say, fuller, so some of the fabrics and styles are a complete no no for us!! We will have a real hunt on our hands to get something that flatters her figure, supports her big b***s AND is the right colour, but you know what? I think we'll have real fun looking! Only thing that kind of worries me is that we weren't going to get the MOH dress until we got to Florida, which is 1 week before the wedding! :scared1: I think we may need to start looking over here!!
I'm looking forward to asking her. Everyone knows its on the cards. I'm sure she does too. But it'll be really nice to ask her and for everyone to know. Then I'll need to email Warren and Carol as things need to be changed...again. I was only telling Warren yesterday that all the changes were done! I guess not eh?! :rotfl:

Another job ticked off the to do list today! :thumbsup2 My mum and I finished off the tea party invites and I delivered 2 of them today.
Here's what the finished invite looked like...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2011-01-03183637.jpg
and the inside...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2011-01-03183651.jpg
Each invite had a different colour inside and the envelops were all different too. We used the bright colours like lime green, hot pink, yellow and oragne and I think they came out really well! :)
DF also finished our logo for the welcome bags. We didnt want anything fancy or fussy and we really wanted to include the letter 'G'. DFs nickname is G, a lot of his friends are called Paul too so everyone calls him G as that's the first letter of his surname and as it will soon be mine too we wanted to include it so he came up with this...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/Wedding_Logo.jpg
Its going on the welcome bags and most likely the countdown calenders too.
I also made a trip to Hobby Craft today and got all the things I need to make our door hangers for the welcome bags. All I need to do now is find a picture of Mickey and co that I like and get it printed and then I can get those done too!! I feel like I'm on a bit of a roll now with our to do list!
I went round my sisters today too and asked her to be my MOH. For one horrible moment I thought she was going to say no but she said yes (luckily) so now we are full steam ahead with that too! I've emailed both Carol and Warren to make all the changes to the BEO's and now I am going to put my feet up and watch a movie!

I was off work today waiting for a guy to come and pick up our fire (its electric and its broken so they came to collect it and hopefully fix it!) because we didnt know what time they'd be getting here to collect it I couldnt go anywhere so I thought I'd have another go at trying to tick things off my to do list! :thumbsup2
I didnt do too bad.
I got the ceremony printed AND put in an envelope to send back to Rev Jack :thumbsup2 Posting it will be the tricky bit...I hate going to the post office! Its always so busy!! :headache: But needs must I guess!
I also bought a Mickey hole punch so I can finish making my door hangers for all the guests. I did cut all the paper and stick things down etc but I really wanted Mickey head shaped holes to put the ribbon through so I went on a hunt! I did find one for a good price on ebay but its being shipped from the US so it prob wont be here for a little while yet!!
I was also going to put the music on the ipod but first the ipod died and I had to reset it and then I couldnt decide if I wanted music with words or just the music on its own!? I played the songs to DF when he got home but still cant decide! What do you all think?! Its only the songs for when the guests are being seated etc :confused3
I also ordered a sample RSVP. They didnt have any to match the invite for our at home reception so Ive found one I think will match nicely but just to be on the safe side, before I spend another £60, I thought I'd order a sample so fingers crossed when that arrives its all good and then I can order the rest of them!
I also read a couple of new PJs, cleaned the house and made stew and dumplings for dinner all before they picked up the fire! Typical isnt it?! I waited in all day and they arrived at just gone 4pm!! Oh well, I got lots of other things done so its not as if I wasted a day!
My backs been really bad again too so it was kind of handy having the day off! DF isnt well either and went to the doctors today (I know he feels really bad as he actually made an appointment without me nagging!) He has to go to the hospital tomorrow for blood tests...I'm a worrier and now thinking the worst! :worried: I cant wait for the results to come in! DF said 3 days so we're looking at getting them next week but wth our local hospital who knows how long it'll take!

I find it's best to assume the worst, that way when it turns out to be something minor, you're happy about it
You manage to pack so much into your days! I have to work on one thing at a time, and that seems to take me days to accomplish! Like now for example, I'm trying to organise the marriage licenses. It's taken me a couple of days and I'm still doing it. :sad2:

Well they told him today 1 week for the results so we're playing the waiting game now!! One of the girls at work said to me today 'I hope its nothing serious otherwise they might not clear him for flying!' Way to cheer me up!!
I only ever get lots done when DF isnt around...he can be quite like a small child sometimes and can really get under my feet! Good practice for when we have kids though I guess!! :rotfl:I actually did a newsletter last night too! I'll post it later!

Yesterday evening after dinner I lost DF to black ops :happytv: (nothing new there!) So I had another look at my to do list and thought 'hmm...what else can I get done tonight?' :confused3
I was originally going to do a newsletter but had a such a mental block! I couldnt design anything let alone think of what to write (I totally blame it on all the other fab newsletters I've seen on here!!) so I gave up and decided to do a calender of events instead. Only problem is, that didnt really work either! :headache: I wanted to write on the calender what was happening on certain days but there just wasnt the room! So I gave up on that too and started looking at PJ's and that is when I stumbled upon a newsletter posted by Jules~Marie...sorry but I've totally ripped off your idea :flower3: but thank you very much!! (I'm pleased to say she 'borrowed' it from someone else too! :rotfl:) I had so much fun doing it that I went to bed super late (totally unheard of for me, 10pm is bedtime on a work night!) I got it all finished last night so I'm super excited and very pleased to show you my ripped off news letter!! :rotfl2:

It probably wont be very clear because for the life of me I could not figure out how to post it so it's been copied and pasted and cropped and all sorts so I'm not sure it'll be very easy to read but if anyone wants a closer look just let me know and I'll be happy to email it to you...after all I 'borrowed' it from someone else so I can hardly refuse!!
I also did a countdown calender for people too. Its pretty basic but I thought it'd be nice for the kiddies. We're going to buy some Disney pens to send out with them so they can cross off each day. I know the big boys wont want it but I know some people will use it!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/newsletter-1.png
We are hoping (or should I say I'm hoping) to make envelopes that look like suitcases and then we are going to send out the newsletter and calender along with their Disney accomodation info, a Disney pen and a themed luggage tag. That will kind of be the last thing we send to everyone before we go...I think!?
One change I might make to the calender, or I may add this in seperatley, is I want everyone to know the days people are flying in and out and the days DF and I will be at the parks etc. We change hotel 4 times so we thought it'd be a good idea to let everyone know where we are incase they want to meet up anytime or incase we dont want to meet up! :lmao: I tried putting all this info on a calender before but it just wasnt working as there was too much but maybe I can come up with something else. Ideas welcome!
Tomorrow night DF and I and his BM and his on again off again GF are going to our local shopping centre to look at suits. A guy I worked with at Topshop/Topman works at Moss Bros now and has offered us a 50-70% discount. I still dont think its worth it but DF wants to go and look. I personally think 1, it's still going to be more expensive than buying/renting them over there, 2, it takes up precious luggage space and 3, if we lug them all the way over there we have to get them steamed...more money!! But I figured there's no harm in looking and at least this way the boys can get measured and have a look and see what they like! I'm actually quite looking forward to it. I wasnt going to go with them when they looked for suits but seeing as the other GF is going I am too so I can keep an eye on him and make sure he doesnt end up in top hat and tails or a powder blue tux and frilly shirt!! :rotfl:

I lose my DF to Black Ops too... Stupid boys
Your newsletter looks great! Very professional.
To get all the info into the calender that you want, I'd probably do it as a list:
Thursday March 3rd - We fly in.
- We check in to such and such resort.
- Meal reservation at such and such restaurant.
Friday March 4th - So and so flies in.
- Meal reservation at such and such.
Etc. Etc.
It might be harder to find specific information about what day someone is flying in, but it should be easier to see what's happening on certain days. :confused3

Just catching up Kat!!
Wow you have been busy!!
Glad the MOH problem is sorted and, to me, it seems nice and appropriate that your sisiter will be your MOH.
Hope DF's results are what you hope they will be and all is okay. Look after your back. I know just how painful backache can be!! In my job it's almost inevitable that you end up with a bad back!!
By the way love the new(ish) avatar picture!!

Nice to see you back! Yeah I have been busy!! It's just kind of snuck up on me and with just 2 months to go there still seems like I've got so much to do!! Im glad the MOH issue is all sorted out too. My sister is really excited about it :hyper:, so much more so than my previous MOH so I know I really have made the right decision! I really wish I'd asked my sister in the first place! My back is feeling a bit better...I've had problems with it for years and actually have an appointment with my osteopath on Tues...got to get it sorted out before the wedding!!

When my MOH told me last week she couldnt come to the wedding I emailed Carol and Warren to make the necessary changes to the BEO's. They both got back to me yesterday. There's still a few minor changes with the flowers. Just changing flowers for the bouts etc but the tea party is all sorted which is great. But bizzarely the BEO for food etc was a little messed up. Not Carol's fault, just me not picking up on errors. It's really annoyed me because the things that were wrong were that there were 2 people missing from everything! I checked older BEO's and they are all the same. I dont know how I never noticed it before :confused3 So I've had to email her back to add 2 extra people to the buffet and bar and dessert party etc. I know it doesnt sound like a lot but it adds up! Ho hum. I said to DF I could remove some of the extras we added in recently but he said no. We've saved really hard for the wedding over the last 3 years and he's not bothered thats it going to cost a bit more. I must of caught him in a good mood!
We also checked out suits yesterday. He's picked out what he wants and our friend who works there has given us a great discount so we can get all 3 suits for £103! Bargain! Only thing is that's just for the at home reception. It would cost us over £600 to take the 3 suits to the US for 3 weeks so we're going to have to get something when we're over there. We're thinking either Carolyn Allens or Mens Warehouse. Has anyone else used these? I'm not sure who to go with?! Suggestions???
Ooo and I almost forgot!! We got out first wedding present yesterday! :yay: I was sooo excited! We havent even registered yet!! It was from the BM and his (on again, off again) girlfriend! They got us a crystal decanter and 4 glasses from Royal Doulton
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/glass.jpg
Its very posh...we've never owned anything posh before as DF is so clumsy! Its really heavy though so I think maybe there's less chance of him breaking it??? Well I'm hoping anyway!! :rotfl:

I just caught up with your PJ--- and I just LOVE your tea party. I'm in love with it. Can I come?! :)
Also, your DF proposed during Wishes--- that's when mine WANTED to propose, and was GOING to propose, until about the week before when I casually mentioned how upset I was that Wishes was being replaced for the summer! He about had a heart attack.

Thanks! I cannot wait for the tea party! Its going to be so much fun!! The more the merrier!!
I have to say...DF proposing during Wishes was not what I expected at all!! Im actually not a huge fan of fireworks, pretty as they are, they are far too loud for me! Saying that though I wouldnt change the way he did it for the world (well I wouldn't of minded him getting down on one knee, and he says he wanted me to cry, tears of happiness of course! :)) It was lovely and romantic and totally caught me off guard! It's a shame your DF couldnt propose during Wishes but he did do it in such a lovely way! And to have pics of the actual moment I just think is the best!! :goodvibes

This evening I went to Debenhams (a department store) and registered for wedding gifts and oh my god...it was sooo much fun!! :goodvibes I went with my mum as DF wasn't loving the idea of registering! :scared1: To be honest...I dont care if we get gifts or not but if people want to buy us something I'd at least like it to be something we actually want!
It didnt take long and we managed to ring up nearly £2000 worth of stuff for the house! :rotfl:I figured I might aswell scan everything we like/want and let people decide if/what they want to buy us. I even got a free bottle of wine! Woo! We registered for everything from towels, to plates and bowls and breadmakers...I'm kind of excited to see what we get (if anything) It'll be like Christmas in the middle of the year!! :rotfl:
Today in the post I also got the self laminating luggage tags I bought off ebay, although I did only get 5 when I ordered 10 so I must chase that up! They came with boring old white paper so Im going to ditch that and use some bright coloured paper and put black Mickey heads with guests names on them on one side and their details (probably just surname and contact number) on the other side so they can use them on their luggage for the holiday!
I'm still waiting for the Mickey hole punch but its coming from the states so I know its going to take a while to get here but I'm just so excited I cant wait!!
DF's also on a roll and started ticking things off his to do list! Well done him! I'm still waiting for him to arrange car hire...hopefully he'll do that soon! We dont have long left after all!!

You just reminded me actually...I registered with Disney too and havent heard anything from them! I'll have to look into that!
I've told all the people coming to the wedding that we dont want presents...we're just over the moon they are coming to the wedding! Some people who are coming to our at home reception in May have been in touch asking what we want so now they'll have a big list of things to pick from!!

In all my excitement yesterday i forgot to tell you about some exciting news my parents gave us yesterday!
Seeing as our wedding trip is also their holiday they decided they wanted to get away from everyone for a while and decided they'd try and get into Baylake Towers for a few days. Well instead of just booking themselves in they booked a 2 bed apartement so all of us can go!! And our room has a castle view too! Super excited!! :goodvibes The plan is to check in early and hang out by the pool for the day and then cook dinner in our room, maybe get a baby sitter so we can go to the bar for a few drinks and then come back to our room and watch Wishes from our balcony!
We're doing some serious hotel hopping this holiday and I'm really excited about it! We're starting at the BCV on the 7th and 8th and then moving onto AKL CL for 9th and 10th and then back to the villa in Kissimmee for a few days before heading to Baylake Towers on 16th and the Contemporary on the 19th and then back to the villa until we fly home! Although it's kind of a pain to keep packing and unpacking it's so going to be worth it as we dont know when we'll be going back to Florida :sad1: so we want to do as much as we can!
My sister has also picked out her MOH dress. It's from Davids Bridal and I think it's perfect for her! I think its the kind of dress she could wear again as it doesnt look too 'bridesmaidy'. Just need to sort out her shoes now! :)
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/dress-1.png
Speaking of shoes...I need to find some too! Ive totally gone off my original ones!!
My previous MOH is currently planning my hen night, due to take place 19th Feb...I dont know what we're doing, it's a surprise, but I'm really looking forward to it and I'll be sure to post photos of the night! Another excuse to go shopping! yay!

I am shattered! I went to zumba this evening after work, for the first time, with my sister. It was sooo much fun but it really tired me out! But I'm going to stick with it!! :thumbsup2
I got an email from Warren today too. Floral is now all sorted but we're going to remove some things from the reception table as I started thinking there was too much, so I guess its not totally all sorted! DF was really happy about the thought of saving some money, even if its just a little bit. But shame for him, Warren sent me some pics of things I could include at the tea party! Super excited! :yay: I want it all!! :rotfl: But DF said no so I have to pick! Help! Here's what he sent me...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/paper-lanterns.jpg
I love these lanterns and I'm pretty sure I'm going to include them!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/hatter_chocolate_favor.jpg
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/eat_me_cookie.jpg
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/drink_me_bottles.jpg
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/card_placecard.jpg
I think I'm steering towards the place cards too? But I'm not sure?! The queen of heart lollipop is cool too! Too many decisions!!
DF also got his test results back and the doctor said they were 'satisfactory' which I still dont think sounds great but they dont want to pursue it so I guess thats all good! We celebrated by having chinese! :rotfl: Kind of defeats the point of going to zumba but ho hum!! :)

After talking it over with my mum, we've narrowed it down and decided to just go with the lanterns and the drink me bottles for the tea party. As much as we loved the cookies and queen of hearts lollipop we decided that we've got more than enough food and dont really need to add any more!! So I sent it all off to Warren and will hopefully hear back from him soon with all the changes so I know what it's actually costing us!! The exchange rate is going up slowly so hopefully it'll go up a bit more before we have to pay the final bill...in 2 weeks!! :scared1: Im actually really excited about paying it! Bizzare right?!
I had to email my manager at work today to tell him the name I'd like on my name badge when we get home. When I wrote it out I just stared at it for ages! Then I had to email it to a friend as it just looked so weird! To think I'm going to be Kat Greenaway in just under 7weeks!! I've been a Schwartz for so long (nearly 27 years!) and now in just a little while I wont be anymore...kind of sad really. I did think about having both surames but, seriously, I dont think I could fit it all on one line! :rotfl: And then if I had to add my middle name in too?! Its getting silly! I did try and convince DF to take my surname but he wasnt having none of it!! So a Greenaway I will be! :goodvibes
I'm currently in the process of printing all our newsletters and countdown calenders. Im going to make a start on the luggage tags in a mo but must go out and buy black card and a white pen tomorrow so I can finish them off!
It's scary to think after 3 years of planning its all coming together and actually very nearly completed!
One of my good friends at work today suggested to our manager that on the day of our wedding they have a buffet to celebrate! He thought it was a good idea and there's even talk of a Disney theme! There's only 12 of us now plus 4 managers and they've all had to listen to me talk/moan/plan for the last 2 years so I think they deserve to celebrate too! :rotfl: I'm kind of sorry I'll be missing it but I did tell them to take pictures for me!!

I would have gone with the lanterns and the place cards, but whatever you go with will look awesome!
My colleagues were talking about having cake on my wedding day too. I said no, they have to do it before I leave :rotfl:
I'm not rushing into changing my name, I'll probably do it eventually, but like you said, it's been my name for 26 years, why would I want to jump in and change it!?!
I told DF that I think he should have to change something too, not only do we have to go from Miss to Mrs, but we lose our name, they don't do anything! :sad2: I suggested that we both change our names to something new and he said "But I don't want to change my name, it's who I am..." I didn't really expect us to both change our names, it was really just said in jest, but I just hope he realises that I feel exactly the same about my name.

What a roll I have been on today! I've actually completed jobs that have been sitting around the house half done for weeks! Yay me!
I went into town with my mum this morning to pick up a swimming costume I had had delieverd into a local store. I'm not a fan of swimwear. I dont have a swimwear body. I have a shortish, roundish, wobbly kind of body that would be better suited to a wet suit. But I found a super cute swimsuit at the beginning of the month and DF talked me into buying it (he said 'buy it' and I said 'ok'. Didnt take much talking in to really!) I tried it on when I got home and surprisingly it looks super cute on. I'm not quite ready to share a picture of me in it but here's one from their website...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/swimwear.png
I can actually see me lazing around the pool at AKL with my new Dior sunglasses when I buy them!) and my super cute swimsuit and a cocktail...Oh I cant wait!! :goodvibes
I actually loved it on...it's got a way of hiding all those unwanted lumps and bumps, must be the ruching?! I'm tempted to buy more...in various sizes...so I have plenty for the future as it wont last forever and I want this to be the only swimsuit I wear for the rest of my life! :rotfl:
While I was out with my mum I also got a fascinator to wear for the tea party! :) I wasnt looking for one. I was actually looking at some clutch bags for my mum for the wedding and we found this fascinator (in the sale! :woohoo:) and I had to have it!
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2011-01-23115607.jpg
It's just on a little silver hair clip so all I've got to do now is figure out how I want my hair (up) and then when it's done I can just pop it in! Easy! :thumbsup2
Aswell as buying stuff for the wedding/holiday I also finished up some projects. This month we are sending all our guests a little package that includes their newsletter and count down calender, all their Disney accomodation info and also a luggage tag. Here's what I made...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2011-01-23093722.jpg
I only took a pic of the front but the back says 'guests of Kat and Pauls Disney wedding' written in Disney style writing. I'm waiting for a few more tags to arrive in the post so I can finish them off and also make 2 for DF and I. I've given some of them out already (to parents and sister/BIL) I think they're cute (maybe thats just because I made them) and I hope everyone likes them and uses them! :goodvibes
I also completed our door hangers...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2011-01-23163739.jpg
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2011-01-23170323.jpg
I'm really happy with how they came out! :)
While we were picking up stuff in our local craft store we saw these adorbale little pink sparkly crowns and got 1 for each our little bridemaids.
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2011-01-23170551.jpg
My mum is going to make boxes for them to go in and we're going to include a postcard from the Disney princesses when we deliver them! We sent them all a postcard from the princesses when we were away in April asking them to be our bridesmaids and I had some leftover as there were originally 6 little bridesmaids so I thought I might aswell use them up and who better to send them to?!
And last but not least I FINALLY made the RSVPs for our at home reception in May. We've had the invites for ages but I've been hunting high and low to find RSVP's but all the ones I found worked out more expensive than our invites! :scared1: So I decided to make some! They are totally plain and we just added one not so hidden Mickey at the bottom. It's the wording that made me giggle...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/2011-01-23182308.jpg
The piture isn't very clear, this is what they say...
.................................................. ... will
__Gladly attend
__Regretfully decline
__Regretfully attend
__Enthusiastically decline
__Will decline to respond but ultimately attend
__Think you are just trying to get a gift out of me
And then at the bottom it has our RSVP by date.
Our invites aren't formal so we wanted a fun RSVP and this made us both laugh so that's what we went for!
I've also written out all our RSVP envelopes so now I just need to write out the invites and buy stamps. Lots of stamps! Which will cost more than what it cost to buy the invites and make the RSVP's no doubt!
Oooo and one last thing...my aunt...who isn't coming the wedding, has been asking me about my gift list. I sent her the info yesterday although she'll get it in the post next week anyway and today she sent me a message on facebook to let me know she had ordered us a present! So excited! :hyper: To be honest I'm not expecting many people to buy us presents but I know both my aunts will. I was so excited I went online to try and figure out what it was! :rotfl:Have I mentioned I'm not very patient?! Anyway...how typical is this...I put a rice cooker on the list for DF as he loves rice and I think that's what they got! He was really happy! I'm not a huge rice fan and when DF makes it it's always plain but I'm thinking if we are getting the rice cooker maybe I'll try making some different types of rice? I like egg fried rice from the chinese so maybe we can try that?! Either way I'm super excited for the present to arrive but I'm not sure if presents will just arrive if and when people buy things or if we will have to wait until after our reception?! When we registered they did put an end date of 21st May so maybe we'll have to wait until then?! :scared1:

Wow Kat love all the things you have got done!!!
Is the swimming cozzie from Next because I am considering the same one!!! I was given a £25.00 Next giftcard for Christmas and want to buy a strapless cozzie so as not to have strapmarks when I put on my dress on VR day!!! I have Jimmy Choo sunglasses though and not Dior ones!!:lmao:

Yeah it is from Next! I love Next :lovestruc It looks fab on I have to say! And it does come with straps too, but like you, I dont want strapmarks before the wedding (or after!) so I'll be ditching those!
I love the RSVP's! They're so funny!
Yeah they made me giggle...I found them online and both DF and I agreed they were very us! :goodvibes

Super excited today as when I got home from work I had an email from both our DJ and videographer! Woo!
So our DJ is Steve Dunlap (or at least the email was on behalf of him) and our videographer is Kirsten Burris...anyone heard of either of them? I'm sure they're both great but any info you can give is much appreciated!
We've already got a phone call scheduled in on Thurs afternoon with Kirsten and we've got a questionnaire to fill in and return to the DJ.
It's all coming together now eh?!
DF's also sorted out the suits although he did have a bit of a hissy fit yesterday when he realised he couldnt get a cravat from Carolyn Allens. He then complained he wasnt getting anything he wanted and started moaning about our colour scheme! Honestly, men right?! I told him he could buy the waistcoat and cravat over here but he had trouble finding the right colour so I think he gave up. I kind of wanted to say 'well if you'd sorted your suit out in April when we were there we wouldnt be having this problem now!' But I bit my tongue and he got over it so it's all good now. He's just going to have a normal tie!
I am still however waiting for him to sort out car hire and Im really starting to lose patience with him about it!

We had a call with Kirsten on Thurs about videography. She sent us an email after our call to gather a bit more info but we've not been through it...yet!
We need to pick 4-6 songs we'd like to use. I've picked 1 so far...Taylor Swifts 'Today was a Fairytale'...I originally wanted to have this song at our reception, last dance or something, but DF said no. Luckily he was happy to have it in the video! :thumbsup2 I'd also quite like 'Ever Ever After' by Carrie Underwood but I haven't asked about that one yet!! I'm hoping to sit down with him later and pick our songs as Kirtsen wants everything back 2 weeks before the wedding and we leave in 4weeks (4weeks today we'll be on the plane! woo! :woohoo:) so we dont have long to sort it all out! Luckily she gave us her personal email so we can email her the songs instead of sending them in the post as that'll take a while!
We've also got to fill in the forms from the DJ and get those sent back too. I tried to do it the other day but DF got annoyed about it as he was busy playing black ops (I hate that game!! :headache:) so maybe I can pin him down tonight and get them done!
I've also finished making all the luggage tags now too so that's another job done! I've made one for DF and I for when we fly over for the wedding and for when we come home too. I'll post some pics later.
My mum has also arranged dance lessons for my dad and I and we start next week. I'm quite looking forward to it! :) My aunt is coming up on the 19th for my hen night and as she used to ballroom dance she's going to teach DF an I a few steps so we should all be able to do something more than just a shuffle on the day!!
DF has also FINALLY started looking at car hire too, although he does want a mustang! :rotfl: I'm happy just getting something small and cheap...it's only for the 2 of us after all but we'll see what he books!! ;)
Disney also took their final payment on Thurs! We had trouble with our bank as they declined the payment first of all but DF got it sorted out (after spending over 1hr on the phone to them!) so thats all good! And Carolyn Allens also took half the money for the suits too. We're really getting somewhere now! :thumbsup2

Since I posted my to do list I've got soooo much done! There's harldy anything left to do now...
* Put ceremony music on ipod
* Learn to dance - I've got lessons with my dad booked, we start tomorrow! And my aunt is giving DF and I a quick lesson on 19th!
* Photography must have list
* Print logo on welcome bags
* Post newsletters/accomodation info to guests
* Send back questionnaire for DJ
* Send back questionnaire for videographer (cant do this until we have received the sample DVD from them!)
...and thats it!!
Obviously the list of things to do when we get to Florida still needs to be done but other than that we're all done! And it feels good! :)
We have just 4 weeks till we leave for Florida! Where has all the time gone?! I'm sooo excited!!
We've decided aswell that on the 26th (we leave 28th) we're going to have a get together with all our wedding guests. It gives everyone a chance to catch up and a chance for us all to get really excited! We're calling it our 'what shall we do when we get there' party?! :rotfl:

Oooo I'm so excited! :hyper: I mentioned to my mum a while ago that I was on the hunt for a very British thank you present for Carol. She suggested something from Whittards...some English breakfast tea with some biscuits or something similar. But today she really hit the nail on the head when she sent me a this...

I totally love it and want one for myself!! :goodvibes Its not out to buy yet but should be avaliable this week so I'm going to order one nearer the end of the month and I'll just have to carry it in my hand luggage! So worth it though as I really think it'll make a great thank you present! Who doesnt love Wills & Kate eh?! :thumbsup2
I've heard lots of people buy presents for their wedding planners...but what about their floral planners?! :confused3

Thanks Kat - I figured it may be biscuiteers but couldn't see it on their website. Perhaps it is not on there yet.
Funnily enough, I was looking at their 'London' tin for my planner, but I must admit the Royal Wedding one may be better. As we have different planners, would you mind if I stole your idea?
You are getting so close now!!! You must be all excitement!!!

Not much wedding related has been happening lately so I thought I'd post a pic of DF from his stag weekend...
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/g.jpg
He got off quite lightly I think...his friends just made him wear this dress on the Friday night and he had a black dress and a wig to wear on the Saturday night. I missed him loads while he was away (yes I know it was only 2 nights but I still missed him!) My friends were great and kept me busy! I had zumba Friday night and then stayed round a friends as her husband was out for the stag aswell. We had a pizza and watched some girlie films (which she fell asleep during!) Then on Saturday I had lunch out with another friend and did some shopping...I got my new wedding shoes (as the last ones drove me insane with the squeaking and the left shoe was too big)
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/shoeside.jpg
http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc443/Kat_Schwartz/shoefront.jpg
They may not look like normal wedding shoes but they're really comfy and I love the sparkly bow on the front! And I can wear them again too! :goodvibes
I also got a dress for my hen night next Saturday! (I'll post some pics after the hen night!) I dont know whats happeneing but I'm really excited about it! :goodvibes
Today I went shopping with my mum and finally had a contact lense consultation! :thumbsup2 I've got to go back tomorrow so they can teach me how to put them in and take them out but at least thats another job done! :) They would of shown me how to do it today but the appoinment was only supposed to be 30mins and they ended up seeing me 20mins late and I had another appoitmnt to get to. My mum booked me in for a facial with Clarins and it was AMAZING! I'm so going to book another after the wedding! And because they also saw me 20mins late they gave me loads of free gifts! Woo! After my appointment tomorow for my contact lenses I'm going to pick up some jewellery to go with my dress for the hen night (and maybe a new bag too!) Then I can come home and have a nice romantic meal with DF for valenines day! :lovestruc

Once you get used to your contact lenses you'll wonder how you ever lived without them before!
Before I got mine I only ever used by glasses for driving when it wasn't all that bright, now I've almost always got my contacts in!
Just remember to take lots of spare pairs and your glasses to WDW. The 1st time I got my contacts was for a trip to Disney, and I got them so I wouldn't need my glasses, so naturally I left my glasses at home :sad2: I got really sick and couldn't wear my contacts, so everything at Disney was slightly fuzzy the whole time
My DF got off really lightly on his bucks night too, I don't even think they made him do anything!! The last stag night he went to, they stuck one of those tall bike flags to his back and made him wear it out. Was good though, could always find him in a crowd :lmao:
