The Yankee Candle company has donated 3,000 10" tapers to be used at my town's 9-11 observance (we are located near the Yankee Candle headquarters). Yankee Candle has always been great to all of the communities surrounding it's headquarters:)

I absolutely love Yankee Candles. I burn them all the time. We have a free standing Yankee Candle store not far from where we live and my dh and I love going there. We can spend lots of time and money there. You've just given me one more reason to love YC.........as if I needed another one. Don't cha just love a quality store!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you know that YC has based its management style on Disney's... progressive thinking, employee empowerment, quality control, etc.?
When we were on vacation in July, we met a man who maintains the systems at YC in MA. He told me that managers are sent to Disney's management school to learn to adapt it to the candle making business.
Just an interesting trivia tidbit, I thought.

Hi!We lived inGreenfield Ma(about 10 years ago now). the next town over from S Deerfield where they are based. They would do BIG things at Christmas. One year Santa arrived on a new SUV for the police dept. One year they donated a Chevy Blazer to the local high school I was working at.The kids sold raffle tickets for the Blazer...the school kept all of the profits.I know since we moved away they have continued with their generosity. The original owner Mike Kitteredge startd this enormous company making candles in his mother's kitchen. He is an American success story. He always gave back to the community. Not because it was the politically correct thing to do but he felt it was the right thing to do.If ever in western Massachussetts you MUST go to the home store it is beautiful.Actually we will be down this weekend.I hope to convince DH to stop. It's always a 2 hour stop ;)
