View Full Version : When you are the only male in the group going to WDW - UPDATED 9/16

I just changed my Countdown clock description (see bottom of this thread) to reflect my growing unease of traveling with 5 women and staying for 10 nights at a WDW resort.

When this trip was first proposed and my DDs (aged 17 and 13) asked if they each could bring a friend, I immediately had thoughts of only one thing: sharing the bathroom! I mean, it was tough enough a couple of years ago at Dixie Landings (now Port Orleans Riverside) with just the three of them. Now we are talking about 5 of them and 4 will be teenagers!! :p You know, the ones who have to look GOOD before they can be seen in public?

After sitting down in the nearest chair, I insisted on a Home-Away-From-Home resort with the accomdations having two full bathrooms, at a minimum. Well, that proved a bit out of our budget for this trip. So, we did the next best thing and got two adjoining rooms at the All-Star Movies. Thankfully, my DW and I will share one room and one bathroom. Sigh! All was well until....

My DW invited her mother to come along!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: My SIL, BIL and 4 year old Nephew will be joining us as well. At least, they will have their own room!! Plus, it brings the odds down to 3 :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: to 7 :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:.

WOW, are you ever outnumbered! You have no hope but to smile and go with the flow. ;)

I bet you have a good time anyway. :)

Hee Hee :p

I think that they owe you a paid admission to the ESPN Sports Club, to compensate for the estrogen overdose!

:p

Oh, brother!! I think you need to re-examine your finances and see if you can stay at a GV at OKW or BW!! ;)

Have you looked into renting points from a member? :)

Funny, I thought that would be every man's dream.;) Oh, wait, I see the group involved. I'd take some extra advil with you-and you might want to pick up lots of bottles of Women's Tylenol or atleast some Pamprin.;) Just in case.:p

We did two rooms at the All star with three women and DH, not quite the same, but it did work out well. Just scratch and belch a lot and I'm sure you'll do fine. Dinner at ESPN Club would probably help out, and don't forget the driving experience thing (I forget what it's called) I'm sure there's enough testosterone there, that you could just show up and breath and feel much better, lol ;) ! Hope you have a great, manly, time!!! ;) ;) ;) ;)

No, the place where you can drive the race car. Named after a Petty I think. It's by the Magic Kingdom. Stephen is dying to try it. You can ride with someone, or, for a ton of money, drive a car yourself. Sounds quite manly, huh?

LOL! I know how you feel 'cause all my friends are guys. I go to IOA all the time with them and my brother so it's four guys and a girl. I'm always outnumbered.

Groosch Scottwdw ...."I feel yer pain" :teeth:

The only advice I kan offer is fer yer to pack....A Man Bag....

it's contents, kould be what will save yer trip!

Suggested Contents;

Back copies of Popular Mechanics

Pork Rinds

A Video copy of Apocalypse Now

A grip exerciser
(great fer stress abatement - and if yer use that each day the gals are in the water closet...yer'll look like popeye when yer git home)

A couple duck decoys ter decorate the room with

Nite stand sized Black Velet Painting of a Deer in Hunt'in season

>>>>>>>of course....yer kould try to fight nature, and "go with the flow"

if yer choose this path.....yer'll need to study up on the latest news in fashion, skin care, boy bands....oh, and the offerings of all the WDW spa's! :teeth:

Scott you're looking at the glass as half empty my friend. Here's your line: "Why don't you all go for an all girls shopping spree! I'll just stop in at the ESPN Lounge:teeth: We can meet back at the hotel later this evening. I can't wait to see what you all buy".

Enjoy;)

Sure, girls, but I question your sincerity on your suggestions. :D

However, some of the guys have some great suggestions! Yes, I do believe the first Sunday we are there, I'll just spend it at the ESPN Club watching football with all the guys (and, yes, I know there will be gals there too!) and having a few brews. By the time they come back from shopping, water park or whatever, I should be feeling much better!

Maybe a stint at the Adventurer's Club at PI will help too. I'm sure some of the members would be sympathetic to my cause. ;)

Goofyposter, wonderful idea!!! Will start making my list now....let's see....can't forget the Dogs Playing Poker throw rug for the bathroom now can I?

As to the Richard Petty Driving Experience, I did that when my wife and I celebrated our 15 anniversary at WDW a few years ago. It is a very MANLY thing driving a 600 HP stock car at over 125 MPH (insert Tim Allen grunts here). However, there was a couple of women in group so ladies you should look into it. I still say it's THE best thrill ride at WDW.

I'm feeling much more prepared and feeling less quessy about the upcoming trip. However, ok and browneyes, please, one MIL is enough already!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :jester:

Trust me, you do NOT want me in a car driving at a high rate of speed.;) That's just borrowing trouble.:teeth:

Don't you have aunt-in-laws or something?:p

You know, I'm not sure the worst of your problem is going to wdw with 5 women as much as it is going to wdw with 4 TEENAGE girls! That alone would give me nightmares, lol. I didn't notice where you are from so are you going to be driving? I would pack a good pair of earplugs if that's the case 'cause you'll end up humming the tune to songs you can't stand by the end of the trip.

I live in central NY and we are flying. Of course, they will bring it's own bit of challenges as one of the girls has never flown before.

I will be giving them each a list of what NOT to pack either in their checked bags or carry-ons. The Syracuse airport just got all new federal employees for baggage checking so I don't want an overzealous checker holding us up for a nail file or some such feminine object.

I will have one small carry-on. I know my DW will have her large purse and the biggest, legal carry-on bag she can find. Each of my DDs will do the same each packed with CDs and players and, hopefully, some homework as they will be missing a week of school. But, packing is a whole other can of worms, isn't it?

ROFL Scott....sorry.....hard to sympathize...... :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
Does Merrie have a sister she can ask so you have an even number in your room too? :smooth: :jester: :p

Here is another suggestion, you can rent a THIRD room at the All Stars just for you and you can have your own bathroom. ;)

Have fun, I KNOW you will!

Dude. My deepest sympathy.

Get rooms near the food court 'cause the public bathroom there is your only hope. Given this, beer may not be you best friend if you get my meaning. Think Scotch.

Gentleman, hats off to our soon to be dearly departhed brother.
(Better him than us eh? Who's got a beer?)

Ho, ho, it is to laugh. Oh, just rub it in, CC. How about giving me the money to get that third room...hmmmm??? I was expecting something a little more sympathic from a fellow Canadiens fan. Sniff.... :D
