I just got these Pics developed with a trow away camera and I had O'Hana's on it! So here is my review!
August 9, 2002
We were doing E-Night this night so we made PS for 7:40 PM. We only had a 10 minute wait so we got seated right before 8 PM. It was just my DS and myself this trip. O'Hana's has become a favorie of his! I am a vegetarian so the AKL Concierge contacted the Chef the day before and made arrangements for my meal. The Chef came out and spoke with me and we decided on Grouper over pasta with grilled veggies and a teriyakki glaze. It was YUMMY! We both give this restaurant a 10. Our server was very unattentive and we had to ask repeatedly for things. I give him a 4! In fact...this whole trip we got service which was very poor. I am wondering if it was because it was just me and my DS and we didn't order drinks etc. Perhaps that had something to do with it???? Anyway here are some pictures! Enjoy!!!

Nice pictures! Thanks for posting them. We haven't tried Ohana yet but hope to get there next time. Your entree does look delicious!
My husband and I were at the World in early May and we also noticed declining service in certain areas. I was hoping this was a short term problem. Let us know if things have improved after your next trip.

Aww man, now I'm hungry!

I like Ohanas simply because it's the closest thing to my favorite Brasilian Churrascaria that they have at Disney. Sorry about the service, I'm a bit surprised because when I went the servers practically got me to jump out of my seat with the "ALOHAS" they greeted us with. The kids loved the coconut races. I don't remember what I had to drink so I must have ordered something good.

Thanks for the great pics!

Ohanas is one of absolute favs!!!!!!!!!! Great pictures! Did they give you the recipe for the Honey Lime Dressing that is on the salad? I gues we must have had 20 or 30 helpings of the salad so the waitress finally took pity on me and gave me the recipe.
I have it if anybody wants it. Just PM me!

DeborahB - I really felt that it was because I was a women dining alone with my DS. Alos I did not order drinks since I was driving and I usually ordered an appetizer as my main course. I could be wrong but this was the only trip we have taken without my DH
( work obligations) and we never such poor service.... We are going back at Christmas time all together so I am sure it will be different. I will Post my reviews!
GoofyDisney - I would love the recipe for Honey Lime Dressing. Would you Post it here please!!!!
CaipiraBob - What is Brasilian Churrascaria? Sounds interesting!!!!

As a single parent, AND a former waitress, I'm all too familiar with the service/tip issue you spoke of. It is a common consenses with waitstaff that females are poor tippers......unless they've been waitresses. I'm not saying that I think females are poor tippers (so please don't flame), but I know for a fact, that this is what most waiters/waitresses think.
I believe it has snowballed. The waitstaff thinks women are bad tippers, so they don't give good service, which causes women to tip according to our bad service which causes the waitstaff to think women are poor tippers. Unfortunate, but true.

Thank you for visiting 'Ohana at the Polynesioan Resort.
We hope that you enjoyed your visit, and we are happy to share the following recipe with you.
Recipe Name:
Honey Lime Dressing
Serving: 2 cups
Honey 1/2 cup
Dry Mustard 1 tsp.
Salt 1 tsp.
Cider vinegar 1/2 cup
Lime Juice 1/4 cup
White Onion diced 1/4 cup
Canola Oil 1 cup
Place all of the ingredients except oil in a food processor and blend until smooth. Slowly add the oil until it is well incorporated into the dressing.
Note: If you make this and put it in a Ball jar or some other air tight container it should last up to three months. (According to CM) However, ours never lasts that long because we use it all the time. It is great on your salads at dinner and great to throw on tossed greens to take to a pot luck or whatever. It really dresses up your salad! And is so YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you say Grouper as in fish? I was not sure I read that right.
I guess I can call all the resturants a few days before.

doberlady - Yes! They prepared me grouper! It was very good and so much of it! I would call the restaurant a few days in advance and also tell them at the Podium when you check in for dinner that night. The chef should come to your table and ask about your likes etc. Enjoy and let us know how you liked it!
GoofyDisney - I made the drssing last weekend and it was great!!!!!! Thanks again for sharing.

That is too bad about the service:( As a former waitress I can tell you women were usualy the best tippers after young (20's) people! People having just drinks were great too (sometimes 100% tip.) This was common knowledge among the wait staff too. We always said be very nice to the wife/girlfriend she decides what the tip is:)
