I was a bit surprised to notice that gas is cheaper onsite (at least yesterday and today) than offsite. The Exxons onsite are $1.47 while the gas stations in Lake Buena Vista (off of 535) are $1.65 (except the 7-11 gas which is $1.59). I guess it "pays" to pay attention.

The US 'gallon' is about one fifth smaller than it is here in Scotland - but that still equates to a 'pump price' of around $4.25 :(

You'll appreciate why so many Brits upgrade to convertibles and Jeeps when in Florida - it's the only time we can afford to fill them up and run them :bounce:

It's going to get worse again too. The price for a barrel just went over $30 and WHEN we attack Iraq, be sure that oil will inflate even more.

If you don't mind driving a few miles out of the way, you can save almost .20 cents!! That was the case for me on my last trip in March.

We drive down, and always fill up at Costco while we're there.
DH looks forward to gassing up, because he can make a stop at Starbuck's!!
So our trip usually equates to: Fill up at Costco before we leave, stop in St. Marys, GA to fill up again, and fill up at Costco FL for the trip back.

Good Luck!!

Yeah, we bought onsite too for convenience and it was cheaper. If we went further away it got better too. Worst was right by the DTD hotels and towards the Marriott Village.

I am driving to WDW next week, and I budgeted $2.00 per gallon (my car requires Premium) .... do you think that's enough?

The prices are MUCH lower if you stray out of the immediate WDW area. I went to a station by the Buena Vista Outlets mall, and I believe it was $1.36 per gallon. My jaw dropped when I saw the price, since I too had seen the $1.65 price at a Sunoco near the disney entrance.
