Hi,

I'm new to this board, and soon to be new to DVC(just started the process on Friday). I've gained a world of information reading this board, which helped in our decision to buy. I have a question, and since my guide is out of the office till Wednesday, I thought I'd try here.
We are buying 175 points at BCV through Disney. Our use year will be March. I have to bank the 175 points so that I can use them in 2003. We have only made the initial deposit, haven't filled out any official paperwork yet. By the time I close, will I still be able to bank all 175 points? Or will the 6 month 100% banking window have passed? I'm a little confused. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sheri B

P.S. I'm so excited to finally be joining!:Pinkbounc

Generally, people seem to have been able to bank the points under the scenario you have described, but be sure to tell your guide about your intentions to make sure everything goes smoothly.

I purchased in March 2002, but for some reason because I was buying points from WLV while they had already begun sales on BCV, they had to begin my use year in August 2001. They gave me an option of keeping the points, or buying them back.

I kept 25 points and had to tell them RIGHT THERE to bank them, or I would have had to use them by August 2002. You can definitely bank them, but you MUST tell them right away!

Sheri...we had a similar scenario when we bought last year. As soon as I had a member number assigned, I called MS and they banked all the points even though I was within the six month window. There was no problem at all. It is a good idea to let your guide know what's going on in case there's any glitch with MS.

Also, they don't send you any document when you bank points so I'd advise getting the confirmation number and writing it down in your records. And lastly, during every call to MS that involves points I always confirm the status of all points in my account to make sure our records reconcile.

While it was painful to pay the pro-rated dues on the points and not use them last year, it did enable us to go twice this year with a few points left over to bank into next year!

Good luck!

When we bought at BCV, there was a form included with our paperwork which we could sign and return to bank our first year's points if we wanted to.
