Child prices for a 12 year old?

My DD will be 12 on our trip in December but still tends to eat the kids meals as it's the type of food she prefers.

I will be booking PS later this week and wonder whether to book her as an adult and child. It is quite a price jump isn't it, for a 12 year old who eats like an 11 year old? Even at the buffets she eats very little as she is so fussy she is limited in what she eats.

What do you all do in this situation?

You are considered an adult at 12 for pricing at any buffet and character meals. For other sit-down meals where you order from a menu anyone can order kids meal including you.

How about the 11 year old, Some Menus say under 11, so that means that the 11 year old would be considered an adult right?
Cinderella's Table says under 11, so I guess I will be paying adult price for my 11 year old there. Do you know of any other places that charge the 11 year old as an adult.. I know Garden Grill is for 3-9 child and over is an adult...
My 11 year old looks a lot older than 11, Will they bother me about it since I have already made my PS and told them that he is 11... He plays football and is chunky, not over weight, but just big for his age.

Just ask for a children's menu and let her order from that. I don't think you will be questioned.

I think 11 and under is considered a child throughout the WDW restaurants. We paid the child's price for our 11 yo DD at Garden Grille in May. Diana

I should add, she looks older too. At several of the restaurants, the CM at the check-in desk asked her to say her age. We get on e more (brief) trip before she is 12, and may be cutting back on buffets for a while after that. She hardly eats at the buffets! Diana

We ate at CRT in January, and they had all of our children's ages on the PS. Our 11 year old was considered a child there, as well as at all of the other WDW restaurants.

We just got back and had the same issue. DS is 12 but loves Chicken Tenders and not much else! We paid the adult price but were able to get a larger portion of the kids meal at most of the restuarants just by asking.

My DD, who will be 14 in November, ordered off the childs menu when we were there in Dec./Jan. We did a few buffets, but not many because she doesn't eat much. Lots of times she and I just shared a meal.

My 14 year old son, who looks more like 16, ordered off of the children's menus constantly, because he too only likes chicken fingers, cheeseburgers, etc. He did this at Artist Point, Chefs de France, Narcoosees, to name a few. I was never questioned, and the cast members were quite friendly about it. I think I was charged the children's menu price. We didn't do any buffets.

11 & under is a child at WDW for buffets or other "one price" restaurants. Anyone over the age of 11 pays the adult price, no way to get around this. However, at any pay for what you order restaurants they will allow anyone to order of the kids menu or at least order food from the kids menu.

When booking a PS they will generally ask for the ages of those you say are "children."
