Any more news on what will be going into the space the Kongfrontation is about to vacate? I'm assuming Universal wouldn't boot an exisiting attraction without lining up or planning some replacement (unless it was a cost issue). I had heard about the possibility of an indoor rollercoaster, maybe based on Scorpion King?

We will be there this weekend and I just wanted to make sure that it is not closed yet. Kongfrontation is one of my favorites. I will definitely miss it.

Itribble31021,
I will be open a little while longer, I think. The passholder only event for last rides will be on September 8th, so you will be able to ride this weekend.

Kong will close on the 8th. My daughter works there and said that yesterday they dropped back to 3 trams. I have heard rumors of the components of hte ride going into storage, possibly for the rumored 3rd park.

Oh! I would have liked to ride it one last time. We won't be going until Dec. 27th though. Even though it was not much of a thrill ride I liked it.:(

I read on the themepark.com that the closings were Kongfrontation to be substituted by a ride with Shrek as a theme and Hanna-Barbera ride substituted by a Jimmy Neutron attraction.

I am a Annual passholder and we were told that Shrek will not be in Kong that it is going to be where Alfred Hitchcock is. unless there was a change in the pass week or something. We were told as of right now there are plans for another ride but the person we talked to would not say what it is. Just that it will be based on a movie sequel coming to the big screen next year.
