Uploading Photos

I don't seem to have the "rights" to upload photos to any threads. Is there someone I need to ask? I have been on this site for a while and posted over 200 times.:confused3

Please help. :teacher: I am a advid photographer that just found this forum and would love to share and discuss our works of art. :yay:

What site are you using to upload your images? Photobucket, Flickr, Smugmug, etc.?

On other forums, I can upload my pics to my account wioth the forum and then add them to the post. Is it different with DIS? do I have to download the pics to Photobucket and use that site? What site is good and secure? Aslo will not require me to pay to use. :0

Where it states Posting Rules, I have listed You May Not post attachments.

I use Flickr. They have a free option that allows the uploading of 100mb per month. Their "pro" version is $25 per year and is unlimited. Smugmug is a pay site with a 14 day free trial. Photobucket, I have never used. There are others out there, but these three seem to be used most frequently on DIS. You will need to copy and paste the URL from the photo into your post, either through the 'mountain icon' or on Flickr using the 'BB code' directly into the post.

Yes, the DIS doesn't allow anyone to actually upload files directly to the site/forums ... you post pictures by posting the URLs to where your images are actually being hosted.

Photobucket is free, and has links that have the proper [IMG ...] "code" right with each picture you upload....
