My husband + I will be there too. We got one of the last 2 Cat 5 cabins. Just curious... how long did everyone try calling in? I called from 9 to 2:00. By the time I got through all cat 6 + 7 were sold out(sigh). At least we got through. We'll be right by the front elevator on Deck 7.

I started calling at 8:58 and kept redialing. I guess I was really lucky to get through by 9:14. Another 20 minutes until I got a person, and by 10:00am, it was all done. :) :) :)

We may have to alternate going to the Adult Beach.;) The first day at Castaway Cay all OKW and BCV owners, the second at Castaway Cay, all HH, VB, VWL and BWV owners.

That would be perfect for me since I own at OKW and VWL.:p :p :p

Well, I think most of the above works Robin! :D

We need to figure out who's game, and what parts work for them. Lunch may not be possible to do. I'd suggest:


Meet at the Radisson pool at 7:00(?) the night before for some kibbitzing and snacks(anyone who's making grocery runs bring something)
Meet on Deck 10 for sailaway by, say, right after the drill?


Also, who's planning on staying onboard for the Nassau day? Mary(wdwlvr) and I are. Maybe Lunch would work on that day.

I have to check with DH to see what time our flight is on Saturday. I know that it's a bit later, so I don't know if we'll arrive in time for the pool bash.

The Sailaway Party will work. I don't know about Nassau day. DH and I stayed onboard the last time and would do the same, but DD will be with us so we may do some exploring.

I am getting excited. SWA just opened up reservations for the time period of the cruise. Guess I will checking in there until I get a good rate.

As for Nassau day - I am not sure yet - We had Matt that last time we were there. I think I will at least like to look around. Maybe the Pirate Museum.

A friend of mine was on the phone with Member Services yesterday arranging transfers and the girl told her they were printing the documents as they spoke. They are planning to ship them out late next week, so we should have them by the 13th.

We are supposed to get 18 inches of snow on top of the 28 we got on Christmas......I'm counting the minutes to this cruise!!!!

As for the Radisson meet, most have said they'll probably be a little late, that's cool, I'm thinking of moving the time later a bit to accomodate. Don't want anyone to have to rush. I'm thinking of going to 8pm? Opinions?

Meet #1 (OPTIONAL) is going to be at the Radisson on Saturday Night February 1st, at about 8pm.
Meet #2 is going to be on the Wonder, February 2nd, after the lifeboat drill(about 4pm) on the top deck(deck 10), middle of the ship(above the Goofy Pool) on the dock side. We'll make it part of the sailaway party. :)
I am making buttons free to whoever wants any. These are being made in advance so if you want any I need to know now, and what names to put on them. family members are cool to get them too. :D

Ok, short of new responses, this will be the final bump of this thread.

If your name is on the list a few replies back and you havn't talked to me, and you want in on the gathers, please do so. And don't use pm's - they don't work right and have had lots get lost. :(

Here's the rundown one last time:


Meet #1 -optional- Saturday February 1st at the Radisson, pool area 8pm I will be contacting the hotel this weekend to make sure the area is not being reserved for something already. Look for an update in this thread if there is a change.

Meet #2 Sunday February 2nd on the ship, Deck 10(top deck), Midship, dockside. After the safety drill at 4pm.

I'm making a button run this weekend! If you want some, speak up, if you havn't already! I'd like to wrap up all travel stuff this weekend, if possible.

This is his 5th cruise, he might go off on his own! By the way, he is coming, he decided that he was ready to miss school for a cruise! He did not want to miss school for a WDW Vacation! I loved reading this in your post above. Only 8 more working days left for me & my DH. How about all of us Dis Boarders bring bubbles to blow from deck 10 during the sail away party? I have done this on the last two Disney Cruises I have taken and planned to do it again.

Do NOT miss the opportunity to see and hear her. She was the special guest speaker on the inaugural 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise and we had the opportunity to hear her sing and meet her briefly during an autograph session. She was on board with her husband Edd Kalehoff (a talented musician and composer the Monday Night Football theme and over 100 other TV themes) and their daughter Alexis (a second generation Broadway actress). They are "real" people who we enjoyed meeting and chatting with.

Thank you Towncrier, I'm really trying to make it a fun time for all! Some of it is easier than it looks - the logo is a scan off the postcard DVC sent out to promote it. I just had to crop the background out. :D Making the actual buttons is some work, but pretty good- those are pop-together buttons from a local craft store.

That is also my first attempt at a handwritten html webpage. I used no publishing assists except for a HTML4 for Dummies handbook used as a dictionary.

GREETINGS FROM THE MEMBER CRUISE!!!!!!

We had a GREAT meet at the Radisson last night, the sadness of yesterday's events notwithstanding. Met up with a good number of people, gave out buttons, got lanyards(thanks BethC!), cxhatted a lot, all in all a good time :D

We're onboard and the party's already started!! They've redecorated all over, there has been special gifts in the staterooms already, with the hints of more!

Too many things to mention, and I don't want to hang around here right now anyhow! Be sure there will be a full webbpage report when we get back!

The cruise is officially over but I have made many new friends - to those I have met here - it's been great spending some time with all of you and to anyone I may have missed - we'll just have to wait for the next Member Cruise to see each other. I hope that we all can do this again soon!
My dh enjoyed this trip as much as I did this time and I think that it is thanks to DVC and the DIS board that he had a good time this trip. Thanks all!!!

Mark & Mary, thanks so much for organizing the Sail Away meet and making the cool pins! It really helped to start the cruise out on a great note. It was so cool traveling with old friends and making new friends, that nothing can compare to the First SS Member Cruise! My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough, and I sure hope the next one is a 7 night :sunny:
