This may be something that I need to kick my booty into high gear. I spend so much time on Dis might as well keep myself motivated to lose this added weight for Disney!

I joined a comp that ends Sept 22, 2010 and I don't feel like I have made any progress. Comp started June 30, 2010. I have had so much trouble trying to lose 1 lbs! Never had this problem before. Before my kids and before the four meds that I take daily! Stupid thyroid.

Not too long ago I came across a video about kettlebells. Looked like so much fun. After reading so much about it I decided to get my own kettlebell. Fell for KBs right away. Now I own 5! I downloaded Lauren Brooks video for my ipod and carry it with me everywhere. She's awesome.

So, after freaking out for 1 month about not starting my cycle, I finally did today (tmi, I know. sorry). So I feel awful. Bloated, crampy, achy, tired, etc. Hopefully in a couple days I will feel better and get right back into swinging hard.

I did find (two years ago) that skipping rope lost me 42 lbs. Why why why am I not out there skipping! Fifteen lousy minutes a day! I am challenging myself to get out there tomorrow then jumping on here to make an update after my days workout. If I succeed in doing so everyday then I will reward myself with a new clothing item. It's a rare thing. I am not a clothes shopper. But I need clothes bad!!! I hate clothes right now. I feel awful wearing shorts so I wear pants all summer. It's hot out there!!!

So, today my workout update is walking at a art festival. Cleaning the house (vigorously), cooking and food shopping. I feel like I shedded quite a few calories. Ate pretty well, I suppose. Except for half a tiny blizzard. I made lasagna with whole wheat lasagna, turkey, low fat ricotta, low fat mozz and heart healthy prego mushroom sauce. So good.

Tomorrow: I will be back! :thumbsup2

Hi Amy
Welcome and good luck! Keep journaling for motivation it does help keep you focused.I hear you about the darn thyroid- I had 1/2 removed and even though my labs are fine(don't need meds) I swear it has slowed my metabolism.

Hi Amy! Good luck with your weight loss...sounds like you like to exercise! Those kettlebells sound like a good workout! Are you also counting calories or just cutting back? I'm always interested in how others approach their weight loss.

Keep up the good work!!
Beth

Thanks you all.

I don't so much count calories. I do eat as naturally as I can. I do eliminate whites (flour, sugar, rice, etc) and I also eliminate table salt. I do have a problem with not drinking enough water which maybe holding me back from losing any weight. It's really difficult for me. I choke on water as If I am drowning.

I also need to start working out in the morning vs night. It's hard first thing in the morning because I have to eat!

Kettlebells are a lot of fun! I suggest if you are interested look into some youtube videos with Lauren Brooks and Steve Cotter. If you live in San Diego look for Lauren Brooks studio. I will have to find out the name and get back with you. Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure. She has some great dvd's, too.

Crud buckets! I didn't get a chance to exercise today. I did walk back and forth on our street behind my little one on his bike. So maybe that was exercise. Didn't feel like it.

Morning: Apple with natural peanut butter and coffee
Lunch: ? (nice :sad2:)
Snack: Triple venti sugar free vanilla non fat caramel macchiato. lol Drank about 1/2.
Dinner: Homemade extra lean hamburger w/mustard on ww 90 calorie bread with homemade potato chips.
Snack: Coconut popcicle

Not such a good diet today. I need to eat more!

Did I skip a day or two?! Eek.

I started a 7 day cleanse today. It's from GNC. They were originally $39 onsale for $9.99! I read reviews online before opening it up. Sounds promising. We'll see how it goes.

No workout yesterday or today :( GOT to get back into it! Maybe the cleanse will help with that. Give me more energy and motivation!

I didn't eat terrible today.

Breakfast: Apple with natural peanut butter
Snack: Handfull almonds and sunflower seeds, unsalted
Lunch: Apple with natural peanut butter (didn't feel like fixing anything)
Snack: Half of a tall caramel macchiato, sugar free vanilla and non fat milk
Dinner: Grilled chicken salad with cucumbers and tomatoes with vinegar and olive oil

Hi there,

It sounds like you've found some fun new ways to get excersie. I've seen the kettle balls at the gym but never tried them. Maybe I will have to check them out. Who do you use for your natural peanut butter. We used to get the "ground your own" from Whole Foods. Soooo yummy!!!!

Good luck!
