It finally happened

After months of doing paperwork and background checks, my wife and I just found out our adoption for our son Douglas was approved by the state of Michigan! :cool1:

Congratulations! I know exactly where I was and how I felt when I got the phone call for our referrral for our daughter and when we found out that everything was approved and we could bring her home.

But so worth it in the end! My oldest was born in Korea, and my youngest, the Phillipines.

Both are pictured below, as you can see, we have been a family for quite a long time!

From one adoptive parent to another, it's hard to explain how adoption and the choice to give a child a home can effect you. Our adoption of our 15 year old should be final about December. Thanks for doing an amazing thing!

Congrats on your adoption - what a handsome young man! We went through a long process before our daughter came to us so we know how exciting it is when you get to complete the process. Remember - take lots of pictures because they do grow up fast! (its always good to have a new reason to support your photgraphy habit, especially such a joyous one!)
