Deciding between the Canon sd1300 and the Nikon Coolpix S3000.

Just using it for travel, everyday use with the family. Any recommendations here?? Thanks so much!

In general (and that's just general and what I usually hear!), nearly all reviews, comparison sites, and camera forums seem to generally have consensus that Nikon's P&S cameras aren't quite up to comparisons with some other manufacturers (unlike their DSLRs)...most recommendations for P&S cameras tend to lean towards Canon, Sony, and Panasonic as the better 3 (though each of them has better models and not-so-great models). Take that for what it's worth...though honestly they're all fairly decent, and none are really 'bad'. The Canon SD line generally gets better reviews and more recommendations than the Nikon Coolpix lines.

Thank you so much! I really had my eye on the Canon, and this is just what I needed to push me there. I have had other Canon cameras and have always been happy with them.

Thanks again!

I've used both Canon and Nikon P&S cameras and much prefer the Nikon (I have the S4000 and love it!!) :goodvibes

Truthfully I think it all depends on what you want your P&S camera to do ... since I already have a DSLR, I wanted something small and slim to put into my purse or pocket when I didn't want to take along the DSLR.
