Totally less than scientific study but an entertaining read. Based on judgments made on half a million photos with detail extracted from the EXIF data to explore what makes a photo attractive.

Some good stuff in there on how people judge photos based on f-stop. Background blur scores well.

Lesson to be learned here too. Take it easy with the harsh flash. It adds age to the subject's appearance.

So in other words, Canon just BARELY beat out Pentax as far as attractiveness and Pentax beat out Nikons? YAY!!!!!:yay::banana: And the Leica pns beat all of us out (except of course for the 4/3.) So what's that tell ya?

Sounds like people who own Panasonic Micro 4/3 cameras know more attractive people in general, and have better looking friends. If you use a Motorola phone camera, you have some seriously ugly friends. ;)

I'm reading this "study" as Nikon people are more apt to photograph 'challenging' subjects and add makeup, botox and designer duds in post processing.

We all know those Cannon people can't accessorize worth a damn anyway

;)

I didn't bother to understand the data. But what I got out of this is that Canon users are more attractive than Nikon users... did I get that right?

And so are Pentax users! Great deductive reasoning!

Background blur scores well.

Well if Canon scored higher than Nikon, clearly foreground and middleground blur were considered equally as attractive.

:rolleyes1

I don't get how the camera brand has anything to do with attractiveness. I mean, I can understand point and shoots being lower than dSLR, but I'd really like to see how focal length and apature effect the shots.
