Dreaming desperately of a 7 day Western in Oct 2003 or Jan 2004. DH wants everything paid in full before we go & I'm not sure I can save that much in that timeframe. We made or 1st trip to WDW last October & the cruise seems so much more expensive. How are the cat 9 rooms? I would go for an inside cabin, but for the 7-day cruise, I don't think I would like to not be able to see daylight. DH & I have done a 4-day RCCL & loved it. I would really like to do the 7-day vs. the 4-day, so I thought a cat 9 would be a good choice. Another question...is there a casino onboard? TIA for all your advice.

We just booked for a trip this Novermber. My husband is just like yours, he wants to pay in advance so we do not come home to a huge bill. Thru these boards I read about the secret port hole rooms. They price out as a cat 10, I believe, but are adjacent to the cat 8s. They have a port hole but it is obstructed. I just want a window to check out the weather so this is a great option. The cabins are 5020/22/24 and 5520/22/24. There is not a casino on the ship but if you do the Eastern sailing there is gambling in ST. Maarten. Hope thet helps!

Cat 9 rooms are just fine. Two weeks, and we are on our second cruise in a Cat 9 room. You are on the lower part of the ship, so getting to dinner is very easy. Just make sure and check the "noisy room list" to make sure you don't get put under the nightclub or kitchen.
We had a cat 9 room and the kids loved it to be able to see the ocean as we moved along. Liked it that we booked a second one with the same room category.
By the way some of the "nosiy" room is actually by the thrusters and the noise will be noticable when the ship is turning at the port.

It's at http://www.dcltribute.com/faq/deck2noise.htm (Dave from Marietta's site).
We just returned from the 8/18 Wonder and 2632 is definitely a noisy room. I'd stay as far away from that room as you can!
