Explain this to me re dining availability

When I put in a particular time for 1 person at a certain resturant, I get certain times available. But when I increase that to 2 people, suddenly I get an additional time that wasn't available for one person. Why do you think that is? Wouldn't the table size be the same whether for 1 person or 2? And what if the time offered for 2 people is the best time for me-OK to book it, then show up as a solo? But my biggest question is why did they change availability?

Disney only releases tables if you are of a certain party size. A table that seats 4 will not be given to a party of 1, and often not even a party of 2. You likely kicked in any 3Top table that can seat 2-3 people. Yes, again 1 is excluded.
