In February we are going to take a short cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. When we dock we plan on renting a car and driving up to WDW. We will only need the car for that travel day, we plan on using WDW transportation the rest of the week.

Any suggestions on which car rental agency has the best prices for this sort of thing? Not sure if some have a one-way dropoff fee.

Thanks!

You did not say where you will be staying. Check National and Alamo first, because you can drop it off at the Car Care Center and get a van to wherever you want to go on property. National and Alamo usually don't charge a drop-off fee as long as you stay within Florida.

I'm not sure where in the area you would drop off other company's vehicles.

We will be at BLT.

I would definitely check out Alamo/National then. Drive to DW, check in at the CR (that's where BLT checks in) get your stuff into your room, then drive to the Car Care Center, it's only about 5 min, they'll get you back to BLT.

Some agencies have a drop fee. Some agencies won't let you use some of the codes and discounts we like to use with a one way rental. Agencies generally have capacity limits on one way rentals. Agencies may have different "deals" for different size cars. The question is if the agency needs cars moved from FLL to Orlando.

Check sites like Kayak. Also check sites like travelocity. Sometimes those sites have deals on one way rentals. Also price dropping off the car at MCO and taking DME to WDW. I'd only do it if there was a big cost savings.
