We are thinking of making a cash reservation for this August. All of our points are now allocated for upcoming stays. If DVC should be ok'd to sell in New York can we do the add-on and then change the stay to points? <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused"> I did a search without results and my guide does not return his voice mail. Can someone here give us an idea? Thanks

Cash rooms and points rooms come from separate inventories, they can't just be converted from one to the other. After you add-on, you would have to call MS and see if there is availability for points rooms. Then cancel the cash reservation. Sometimes your guide can do some "magic" if there isn't any point availability as part of your add-on deal. ;)

When we bought our first resale at BWV, we already had cash reservations for two 1 bedroom units, both with the AP discount. After I received my member number, I called Member Services and asked about using my points for these rooms. They allowed me to switch one of the units to a stay using points but said we could not transfer the second one. That was fine with us because it just gave me more points available on the next trip! Maybe you will be that lucky too!
