Wow 2nd thread!

Thanks for transferring all of the information from the first page to the new thread Janice. I keep looking at it, knowing I need to do so planning (since the 75 day mark is coming quick).

I also keep looking to see how our FE group is growing! :cool1: I've decided that I've made what I've made and now I'm just going to wait until the list is closed and figure out what more I need. I was driving myself crazy trying to keep up with the families as they were added.

And I really don't need any more help driving myself crazy :rolleyes1

Don't worry. I am hopeless too - if I don't get my 8 hours, or have interrupted sleep it throws me completely. I was very relieved to be able to go back to sleep at 5:30am yesterday as I was worried the train that races around my head in the dark of night would get going! It was ok though, I did get to sleep, until Tiger called at about 8am. But just that hour I was up has had me good for nothing today!

Great to see the second thread, and well done for getting all the information here too - you have done amazingly well to keep on top of everything.

I'm never sure when the actual cut-off is - I just didn't want us to be locked out . . . it appears some have started new threads sooner - some later - but believe me - I get stressed out easily!!

Is anyone else still having a hard time getting back on track after waking up at midnight Sunday morning? I am not a night person at all!!

I think the board rules set the limit at 3750, so we were getting mighty close! Thanks Janice for setting up the new thread and keeping us all nice and organized.

And, yes, I still feel yucky after staying up. I was up until at least 1:00 a.m. It took much longer to do the online booking this time. And after that, I couldn't sleep.....probably due to all the anxiety, adrenaline and yes, extra caffeine!:Pinkbounc

I was up until about 2am but I wanted to do our SPA and Excursions at the same time as the Palo Reservations - then I was a bit amped up to go right to sleep . . . I am feeling more human today - but not as good as I would like to be . . .

Jeff, what an amazing job you did on that tutorial!! I too wish I had it on Saturday! :goodvibes That will be so helpful for everyone that has yet to make their bookings! And yeah I copied it and pasted it into word and kept it for next time! THANKS!! :thumbsup2

Kudos to you too Janice for doing such a great job setting up our new thread and maintaining Post #1! That is invaluable to have all the important info right there at the click of a mouse. I do check it at least once a day now for something or other.:thumbsup2

LANAYRDS: So today is it! The cutoff day. I have not sent out for the quote yet so if you think you have a preference on design, don't hesitate to let me know (but you might want to do so tonight!). Also we do still have room for others to join! If you are new to the thread (or not) and would like to purchase custom lanyards that will easily identify you as part of our group, post in the thread or send me a PM and let me know! They will cost under $5 (more likely around $2) apiece! But the ball will be rolling on this tomorrow or Wednesday, so now is the time! pirate:

For those following along, I do have part 2 of my video up. Wow what a mess that was, I must have gone through 6 editing programs yesterday. Its been compressed, uncompressed, recompressed, clipped, split, and spliced. I had so many issues with codecs and compression. Who knew video editing was so complicated!?!?!

Anyhoo, here is Part 2 (http://vimeo.com/13820313)! Enjoy! :)

I think they said on the site that it's a 90 minute ride, but you can hop off and on. So, I would think 4 hours would be plenty of time to get through what usually takes 90 minutes. I'm hoping to do it too.

We're planning on doing it too and I'm about to book it online to save some time when we get there, plus the few dollar savings is an added incentive. Our plan is to hop on the darn thing with our online tickets and go directly to the southernmost point of the USA. After that, I don't care what we do, save for hitting the Hemingway house and Truman's abode. Since we've never done a cruise, our plan is to see what's happening in KW on Halloween. I've been forewarned by my native Floridian sister-in-law that it might be an eye-stopper, so if KW's main drag is "too much" for 6 year olds, well then, after our short stops we plan on getting back on the ship and hitting the pool. It is Halloween and I have a feeling that some fun things will be happening on board no matter what time cruisers call it quits and return to the Magic.:clown::clown::clown:

Yes, I'm concerned about Fantasy Fest myself with the 10 year old. My main thing is to get to the Southernmost point and get a slice of key lime pie. That's all I care about ;)

Also concerned about Fantasy Fest...I saw some pictures where it appeared body paint was the only thing being worn by some

I definitely want to get to the Southernmost point just to get the necessary photo. I also want to visit Hemingway house if for no other reason than to see the resident cats, something DD would love to see.

And I am certainly not going to turn down the chance to eat some key lime pie....the biggest decision yet to make is what kind to get, traditional or frozen on a stick!

I guess I'm somewhat nuts, but I would love to see the craziness of Fantasy Fest (but no desire to join in :lmao:) However, looking at the website for the event, it looks like the 30th will be the big day and most of it will be over by the 31st. There still may be some leftover party going on, but the big bang will be over (I would have LOVED to have seen the parade on the 30th!)

Hey gang real quick but I have received some new PM's regarding lanyards. If you have not seen the choices I will repost below. Let me know if you prefer one design over another. :)

Also let me know what colors you would prefer. We will have one color which will be the base (fabric or plastic) of the lanyard and the writing will be black or white.

SCDizneyDawn I have not gotten your PM yet but it may be hung up in the system so if I don't get it by tomorrow I will send you one to confirm how many you want. :)

Here are the options, these prices are estimated.

If you check the Fantasy Fest schedule (http://www.fantasyfest.net/schedule.cfm) you will see that the last day is Children's Day, which is the day we are there. I am hopeful, that the "fantasy" part of that festival is over.

We are buying an eTicket mostly to use the Trolley as a form of public transportation. We think it will be a great way to get around Key West, see what we want, get off and on when we want and then finish up back where we started. Maybe a high price for a "bus" ticket, but it seems to be the best way to get to see the parts of Key West that we want to see.

Oh yeah I saw that but I mean if you stop at some of the stops and visit the museums it might be a time crunch. Figuring we get 4 hours then the 90 minute ride, plus possibly waiting... only leaves about 2 hours for any wandering

Not sure what we are gonna do - right now I asked our TA about the excursion we wanted to do but is not showing up (seeing if it's discontinued, full, or what's going on).

Would anyone be having their kids wear their Halloween costumes into Key West on the day we are there? It sounds like the trolly bus will be going right by the area where the childrens activities are happening. I don't think mine will, perhaps the youngest would want to. We'll be doing that Trolly tour as well, staying on it till the Southern most point, then hop off hop on on the way back. :)

Me too. Although, I can't help but think about when my sister came back from their cruise. She said the whole trip was awesome except she wasn't so happy about trying to explain why a guy riding a bike was only wear a tu tu. and only the tu tu. :confused3 My nephew told me that KW is no good for kids. When I asked him why? He said that there are no place to buy toys on the entire island except Walgreens. LOL.

If I can convince the wife, I'm fine in leaving the kid on the ship and let him play.

I don't think so. I think I will let them wear their costumes for our Disboard TOT and then change them before we head off to explore Key West. I think it might be too hot and uncomfortable for them to walk around otherwise. Maybe I will have them wear Halloween themed t-shirts instead. I think they may want their costumes back on when we return to the ship and likely then wear them to dinner, depending upon what the ships activity schedule for that day looks like.

Old Town Trolley Update:

I just called and spoke to a very nice person who explained that the last trolley leaves Mallory square at 4:30 and returns 90 minutes later (duration of tour) around 6:00 PM.

I was trying to get an idea when the last trolley would be heading back to Mallory square. He said, depending on where you are on the 12 stop circuit you should probably look to grab a trolley no later than 5:00 PM. Worst case scenario you could take a cab back to Pier "B".

If you buy the eTicket online you print it out at your computer, bring it with you, and show it to the trolley operator. No need to go to the ticket booth at Mallory square.

I'm not planning on having my girls wear their Halloween costumes on Key West. They probably will have swimsuits on under their clothes just in case there are "get wet" opportunities in KW, especially if it is a hot day there.

I just read a post today by Snelsbrown. Thought it would be worth for the rest of us considering meeting at FishLips the evening before our cruise, to have a read.

"I, myself, hesitate about Fishlips simply b/c of the few times I have been there, the service has not been up to par and also the fact that salad, breads etc do not come with the meals and are extra if you want them.
They do have a great view of the channel and ships coming in, but I will still stick with either Grills or Rusty's - With Milligans's I feel that refills should not be an extra charge and the acoustic creates a lot of noise that makes talking kinda hard, but they do have a beautiful place and scenery of the channel again these are my own thoughts and feelings"

Question regarding our Nachi Day. Do we HAVE to have the confirmation document/email that was sent to us, in order to get in?
We had our computer fixed last month, and although the guy backed up EVERYTHING I had asked him to, I forgot to say that my entire IN box was also very important. So I no longer have that email confirmation from Island Marketing. Will this be an issue or should I re-contact them and ask them to send me a copy? :)

I recommend contacting IM and asking them to email you another copy. I've heard you might need it to show the taxi driver (b/c most know NC has a maximum limit) and you also will definitely need it to show the person at the entrance to pay off your balance. Remember that they only accept cash or travelers checks, no credit cards, at check-in there.

Glad to have an addition to our board! Since you are here, and are from the UK, I actually have a trivia question for you. Actually it's a question we'd like to have an answer for. Today is my DS's 13th Birthday. We gave him his birthday mail from relatives while out for his birthday dinner. My DH's side of the family is from the UK, and one relative from there always sends British Pounds for my children's birthdays! I've never really examined a 5lb note before. So we'd like to know if it really is Elizabeth Fry on the reverse side from the Queen, and if so, who exactly is she in regards to British History? :) This is not just a learning lesson for my son, but for me too. :)

I need some help and/or ideas!

(this is in regards to lanyards but I will welcome input from anyone!)

I have been working diligently on the lanyards as we wind down the sign ups and proceed to the next step. A thought occurred to me today that hadn't previously. And that is by dividing the cost down to each lanyard if someone does not pay for theirs then the cost per person for everyone else changes. If some have already paid then they would have to be responsible to send me additional $, etc. Others may then want to pull out if the cost is not exactly what was quoted, continuing the snowball. And we aren't even at final payment yet, so people could possibly still drop out of the cruise altogether. (Would hate to see that happen, but it could). So this could be a logistic nightmare.

As much as I would love to be in the position to absorb the extra cost should this occur, it could possibly add up to a very substantial amount. I was already not taking into account other supplies I would have to purchase like cardstock, and ink for example. So I was already facing some out of pocket expense. I'm just concerned that this could end up being a mess or a huge headache splitting it up per lanyard.

Does anyone have any solutions or ideas? Experience on past cruises? My last cruise did a "Lanyard team" where each member made a flat contribution ($10) and then enough lanyards were purchased for everyone to have one. In exchange for their contribution, these members usernames were listed on the backside of the nametags. If we wanted to do this option we would need roughly 20 volunteers to chip in $10/each. The order will cost appx $200.

Or I could add a "buffer" amount to the final cost and divide that amount up equally. For instance If the order costs $200, I would add say $30 on top and divide $230 up amongst those participating. That way if someone ends up not paying, their shortage would come out of the "buffer". If everyone does pay, then that money could go towards other supplies (the ink etc. or even ToT candy). Of course there is the chance that any shortage may exceed the buffer too, but I would feel a lot more comfortable knowing we have some cushion.

And although I would not be making the order until after receiving payments and theoretically could pull the plug and just refund everyone if too may people drop out I don't really want to worry about the mess that might be as well. I picture myself wandering the boat trying to find people at midnight on night 1 with one of those change dispensers on my hip. LOL!

So anyway I need everyone's feedback or any ideas you have, no matter how small. Thanks for your help and continued support! :goodvibes

Hi Nenner,

I completely understand the sundry issues connected with the lanyard effort. Count me in as being a willing be a part of the "buffer group" to hedge the bets of any possible non-participants. So charge me the $10 extra amount (and no I don't need an acknowlegement on the back of it) or add the extra buffer onto the final total and I'd be glad to pay a part of that too. Whatever works best I'm all for. I think it is great that you stepped up to the plate and agreed to organize this for the rest of us. The lanyards will be a wonderful moniker for our fellow meet board members on the Magical cruise through the Western Caribbean!!!pirate:pirate:pirate:pirate:pirate:

Hi Jen,

Whatever you decide, i'm fine with it. The buffer amount sound great, this way if there's money left, you will have some extra money for kids stuff. I'm ok with what ever you decide, just let me know when you need me to send you payment. I'm just greatful that you're willing to organize this and do all of the work.

Thanks all, I'm off to work!

Hi Jen

I can't find a PM to you from me regarding the lanyards. Please count the 4 of as "in" for lanyards. No preferences from me.

Thanks,

Hi All:wave:

We made our final payment a few days ago and are so excited to be joining you all on the trip! I have a few questions about this wonderful thread with SO MUCH wonderful information. Unfortunately for me I didn't check back in time to get on the Nachi excursion with you all. I am sure you will have a wonderful time! Any waitlist for this event? Or does anyone have another suggestion for a "beach day" at Cozumel??

I noticed the lanyards post and that sounds fun, but are some of you return cruisers and if so don't you get lanyards from the Castaway club.... not that we can't use more! We also are DVC members so I am thinking we are going to get some from them as well. Just wondering if these lanyards are a better option than the Disney ones.

And finally We need your help concerning magnets for the cabin doors. This is my parents first cruise and we are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! My mother is nervous about getting lost on the ship and I have to admit it is intimidating trying to find your cabin in a long row of cabins! So I snuck an old Black and white picture from my mom today of when they got married. We want to blow it up and put it on a magnet to stick on their cabin door but would like to add some words such as "celebrating 50 years together" or something.

So can anyone tell me how to do this? I have never made a magnet before. I would like it to be enough but not crazy big! Can I do it at Walmart or Target? Or is there an online store? I guess I can scan in their picture.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to sailing with you all in 87 days!!!

cmbar, I would love to help you out with some magnets, and a very special one for your parents! If you would like, pm me a scan of the photo you mentioned and I'll do my best to incorporate that into a graphic that you could then print out, laminate and attach adhesive magnets to the back of, or just print it out onto magnetic paper. Have a peek in my 4shared album in my signature and if you like pick out any others you'd like. I can personalize any there. Also, ****** and Milliepie on the Main DCL board in the thread called "Cruise Magnets and Graphics Links" do some Awesome anniversary disigns. I'm certain they'd also be more than happy to help you out! :)

LOL.

If I can convince the wife, I'm fine in leaving the kid on the ship and let him play.

fine by me i want to walk around and see some shops or something.

This is definitely irritation as this may very well cancel 1/2 my WdW trip. I sorta knew that the prices were going to go up. Under normal circumstances, I would have bought early, but I have GAD passes. So under the old ticket prices we were going to go 6 days to the parks for a family of 3(2adults, 1 child). Now it looks like may be 3. Here's the math:

Option 1: 6 days with GAD Discounts ($253.47new vs 240.70old)+tax 500.55 new 462.21 old 8.9% increase
Option 2: 5 days with GAD Discoutns+tax 479.26 new 452.62 old 7% increase
Option 3: 4 days with GAD Discounts+tax 463.28 new 443.04 old 4.5%increase

The penalty is for a longer stay, which is puzzling to me. I budgeted $450 for our trip originally. I figured I would fudge a little for 5 days and if the money showed up before we left I would gladly go 6. NOW though, I'm leaning heavily towards 4 days. It sorta makes me scratch my head. I thought D* wants us in their parks. I guess not really.

(this is a copy from another forum)

I would love to have some target practice with some water balloons and rubber darts at some CEOs. I guess I ll have to figure this one out. GRRRRRR.

:welcome: mandymouse!! :welcome:

I hope I am not butting in on your message to Mandy, but I just read your question and recognised the answer. It is Elizabeth Fry on the reverse of the £5 note. She was around in the 19th century I think, and she was a humanitarian who did a lot for the very poor and also prison reform.

I remember covering the industrial revolution period when I studied history, and I am pretty sure she was one of a number of philanthropists around this time, when conditions for the poor became more and more intolerable. I don't know whether you would recognise the term 'Quaker' but EF was one I think, and my understanding is that they were a movement of Christian people who dedicated their lives to help the less fortunate.

I am intrigued as to your children getting ££s every year - what do they do with it?! I hope that your DS enjoyed his special day, sending a belated :bday:

Hey Mandy! Great to see you joining us on this cruise (you are aware it is a Halloween, not a Christmas celebration I take it???!! :rotfl:)

Been spending most of my time planning like a demon on the Cruise board, not been on the Community Board for ages and ages  If you read the first post on this thread, it has all of the info you need I think, Janice has done a great job of keeping it up to date. There have a been a few meets I have missed over the years for one reason or another, but delighted we will hopefully finally get to meet on the Magic

LOL Kristie, you know me so well. We had originally planned to sail on the Disney Wonder on the Panama Canal cruise in January, but only decided the other day to change our dates to this cruise

Where are you staying before/after the cruise ? We'll be at the Pop Century before the cruise and we'll fly home once we disembark

Anyway I'll make sure to check out the first page later today ::yes::

Thanks for answering the question Kristie, it saved me google-ing the answer (I'm rubbish with History :rotfl::rotfl:)

I'm glad you changed your dates! It should be a fabulous cruise. From memory you have cruised before, is that right? We have only done a 3 day Wonder after we got married in Florida coming up 4 years ago. We are so excited to be doing a 7 day now.

We fly into Tampa on the 27 Oct, and are staying at the Buena Vista Palace as we got a good deal on a suite (makes life much more convenient than a hotel room with a 2 yr old!). We stayed there a night last year and really liked it. It is right opposite Downtown Disney but has a nice pool so we just have a couple of days to get over the flight. We have our obligatory annual stay on Anna Maria Island after the cruise, so it should hopefully be a wonderful trip.

When do you fly in? Maybe we will bump into you before the cruise, I'm pretty sure I would recognise you from pictures you have posted before!

I've not done an FE for a group this large before, but basically, people deliver at different times throughout the day. I personally like to get up early and deliver in the morning so they are there when people go to leave their stateroom. They would then empty out their FE, and other people will deliver again after that ect.....

Leslie, how many families are we at now for the FE? Is there any consideration to splitting the group as some have queried about? I'm for either way. I dont' know if this has been talked about but are we going to deliver whenever we want, or will there be assigned days ect. for each person? Our FE exchange last fall was a very small group, so it was all very informal, and also very fun! I think this is lots of fun too, having such a big group! Totally excited about it! :yay:

Leslie, how many families are we at now for the FE? Is there any consideration to splitting the group as some have queried about? I'm for either way. I dont' know if this has been talked about but are we going to deliver whenever we want, or will there be assigned days ect. for each person? Our FE exchange last fall was a very small group, so it was all very informal, and also very fun! I think this is lots of fun too, having such a big group! Totally excited about it! :yay:

Oooh we vote for one big group. Or, if you want to split up, then can we be in both? We've already got 35 FE gifts and can buy/make more if we need :thumbsup2

PrincessTrisha

I vote for one large FE group as well (since I'm almost done making an individual gift for each person on the list!).

I'd also prefer if we could deliver whenever we choose. It may mean that FE's come in "clumps" with gaps where there are no gifts but for my family it would be easier. I know my mom wants to help deliver some of the gifts but I've only got so much energy pushing her up and down the hallways of the ship. It would be much easier for us to do it floor by floor when time and energy allows.

Either way works for me. I've got some ideas rolling around my mostly empty head for handmade stuff, and I'm planning on some store bought items too. So, I'm easy :lmao: (but I'm not cheap!).

When we get to Cozumel those of us going over to Nachi Cocom need to remember to bring towels from the ship or our own personal beach towels. Someone posted on a Nachi thread on the main forum that they forgot to do this and had to rent towels for $8 a pop when they got there. He had a family of five so paid out $40 bucks! Yikes.:mad:

We're planning on using towels from the ship. Does anyone remember if they are very big? When our last standing Disney Store here in Ottawa, closed down last fall, I purchased a HUGE Mickey Towel for Tim. I've already got that packed, and I do plan on buying DCL towels from the gift store as souveniers for DH and myself, so maybe we'll take those as well.

Judy, I remember them being approx. the same size as a regular beach towel, but that they were kind of thin. You really needed at least two for each person if your intent was to use them to get dry.

I think I am going to pack towels for the kids at least. I just ordered a really cute Seahorse towel from Lands End for Allison....she is obsessed with Seahorses.

I went shopping yesterday and bought a suit, shirt and tie for young Michael to wear on formal night....he will now be virtually identically dressed as his father. I found two great dresses for Allison, one for formal night that sort of compliments mine and one for semi-formal night that matches a black and white print dress I own perfectly. Allison also got two pairs of shoes, silver sandals and black ballet flats.

I am so hoping we can get a family picture this time. The one taken of us on semi-formal night last year did not come out for some reason.

What is everyone's experience with formal night regarding having pictures taken? Is it very crowded? How early should we go down for dinner to make sure we can have our photo done before our dinner seating?

Hi Nenner,
So charge me the $10 extra amount (and no I don't need an acknowlegement on the back of it) or add the extra buffer onto the final total and I'd be glad to pay a part of that too.
Beth

Hi Jen,

Whatever you decide, i'm fine with it. The buffer amount sound great, this way if there's money left, you will have some extra money for kids stuff.

We are good with the buffer too. Thank you for taking this on.

nenner, count me in on the buffer. Pm as to where I can send you $10.00 and I'll get that out this week.:)

PM me too and I'll do the same.

Ditto here! It's awesome that someone has taken on the task. Let me know where I can send $10.00.

Thanks again!
Linda

I just wanted to say well done for doing so much work on the lanyards. We have been kind of excited about getting our first Castaway Club lanyards which is why we haven't joined you, but if you get to a point where people haven't paid, we will happily step in to the group so that you and others don't lose out.

I'm happy to send $10 for the lanyards, I wanted to contribute for the ToT anyway! This way if there's extra $, it can go to that!

Do you have a PayPal account?

I'm in for the $10.00. I too wanted to contribute for the TOT. Let me know where to send it...

thank you, Nicole

A very heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you! I was so worried I would get groans and eye rolls, LOL! I hate to ask for "extra" money but I would have hated to pull the plug too if things went bad.

So since we don't have 20 people total to go the $10/pp route (we are sitting right around 15 Diser's with 81 total lanyards) I think the best way would be to just tack a reasonable buffer on top of the final price and divide it evenly. The best part is since we have added a few participants since I posted the costs, even with the buffer I believe it still should be right at $2/per lanyard. I'll get into the math as soon as I get the quote, which I will probably go ahead and send out for today!

Thanks again for all of your support! I think not only will we have some cool lanyards we will end up with a really kick butt Trick or Treat too! :thumbsup2

Hi Jen

I can't find a PM to you from me regarding the lanyards. Please count the 4 of as "in" for lanyards. No preferences from me.

Thanks,
Linda

Thanks so much Linda, I have you down! :goodvibes

If we are going the buffer route - I'm in for a contributor - and I like the idea of "if there is anything left over - put it towards the TOT" - pm me your address and it will be on its way!

Thanks!!

Thanks Janice! Did you and Linda want to get Lanyards, or were you just looking to help out with the buffer?..I don't have you on my list.

The ship towels at the pool are pretty small. They are smaller than the bath towels in your room, which is a standard towel size.

Sorry about that!! I update the schedule and forgot to update it in the other spot . . . I think it is updated now . . . :thumbsup2

I also need to remove the voting portion - is it now a "mutli-stop" activity?

Thanks!

Yes, It will be a muti-stop scavenger type hunt similar to what DCL did last year! :goodvibes (Hopefully better since instead of just a list of stops we plan on giving clues and the kids will have to figure out where to go! It won't bee too hard and I was planning on making an answer list for those who get stuck. I think that sounds like a lot of fun!!)

:welcome: aboard! Glad to have you sailing with us!! :goodvibes

As far as Cozumel, I know the alternative beach some were considering before deciding to go with Nachi is Paradise Beach. It has a lot of fun water inflatables and such. :thumbsup2

I haven't been there before but I have heard Chankanaab (where the dolphin excursion is) is also a nice lovely park and beach just to visit as well. Hope that helps a bit! :thumbsup2

Yep I am a CC member so we do get those as well. I usually end up wearing both lanyards the first day and then just go to the group lanyard. I found the group lanyard more comfortable last time since it was lighter and a softer material than the CC ones. I'm actually not a lanyard fan in the real world but I do enjoy having one on the boat to keep track of my KTTW card. (One thing- well two can be counted on when I am on a cruise....at some point I will have had enough to drink that it will be obvious in the pictures I take, and also that I will lose my KTTW card at least once. LOL!

You are still welcome to join in on the custom group lanyards, as I have not yet gotten the final quote or done the math yet. Drop me a line in a PM, email or post a reply in this thread if you would like but I will be finalizing the list in the next day or two. :)

I know Judy is helping you, she is our resident magnet guru! Making magnets is a lot of fun. We love both making ours and even more cruising the ship looking at all of the wonderful creative art on all the Dis doors! (Not to mention you always know which door is yours, that can be invaluable sometimes!) :rotfl:

Jonathan I quoted you too but I guess I had too many quotes in here. I feel your pain. I remember back in the days when WDW prices actually did NOT increase every year. In fact they were stagnant around $50 for a long time in the '90's. It is a bummer. I know they are making some wonderful improvements now and I am happy to see that but yeah...it is getting more and more difficult to have even a short reasonably priced trip (under $1000). :sad2:

Keep in mind, the Group lanyards are a great way to indentify other Dissers! I'm horrible with names and remembering "Where do I know that face from?". The Group lanyards make it a bit easier, for me anyway :)

Well, I'm actually working on finishing my trip report from our cruise last fall! The pre trip part was ALL done, along with the day of travel and our first day in WDW. But then I got busy with other things. So hopfully by the end of next week, I'll have that one done, and I can start on one for THIS trip!

My kids now know about going to DC!!! But they don't know when! We sort of brought up that topic last night at my DS13's birthday dinner. We told him his Nana would like to visit her sister (our Aunty Linda) in NJ sometime this year. We added that it would be a one day trip to get there, so maybe we could drive her there, and visit ourselves, and then since DC is a short distance from there, we could go tour DC. They bought into that! They aren't terribly exicited about it, but are happy to make the plans to go!
So, the whole surprise Disney Trip Story has started!!!:thumbsup2

Was there a final decision on which lanyard would be ordered?

Yep, design number 1 (which was the basic, standard lanyard style) won by pretty much a landslide. ;) Which was basically a few votes, since I only got a handful of folks who expressed a preference.

Also, Halloween colors were the most requested, Orange with Black writing is what I have right now in the quote box (still working on submitting it). They do have an option to specify font, so I will be requesting the "Waltograph" which is the Disney style writing. I am submitting a mickey head jack o lantern graphic which I hope will be able to be included in the type. Because it's Disney though, there might be a copyright problem so I'm not sure if they can do it. But we'll see...

The quote will include a preview, so when I get it I will post the pic and you can all give me feedback..that way if we need to change anything we can! :)

Also in the coming days I will be sending out PM's, the first one will be just a reply-for-confirmation, and after I have those back I will divide the price down and send out PM's with my address for those who want to send checks and MO's and also a link to PayPal for those who prefer that. :thumbsup2

The quote request has been received and is being worked on now. :goodvibes

Yipppeee! Got our last passport in the mail today (photo issues with the munchkin), ordered dye for our Mickey tie-dye shirts yesterday, working on getting 100% cotton t-shirts one at a time with coupons ('cuz again, I'm cheap)...Things are coming together!

That sounds great, i need to get going on our shirts! I love the tie die idea. Esp. in Halloween colors. If I get ambitious I might consider trying to make a set of those for the kids to wear in KW.

Oh and I know this was mentioned I think yesterday...kids dressing in costume in KW. Our hopes are to have Character Breakfast Sunday morning and have the kids in costume for that and the ToT. Then we'll change them out of costume for KW, and when we get back onboard I'll leave it up to them if they want to put the costumes back on or not. That is our Palo night so I don't know what events will be going on in the clubs, etc. If we make it back onboard in time for any of the big events Official ToT or deck party that may have an effect on our decision.

I wonder if there will be special photo ops available for Halloween...Characters in costumes, etc? Anyone who has cruised Halloween before know offhand? (Janice? Ellen?) THANKS! :)

Will be back later with a list of Lanyard participants. Want to double check my PM's and emails again before I post it!

We may have a late addition to our sailing. Catherine is trying to get her friend to come with us and it may just work out.

I need to contact Island Marketing to see if they will allow one more teenager to our Nachi Cocom booking.

I remember someone emailing IM, can you give me the email address so I can write to them?

Thanks,

It's OK, sometimes I am positive I am losing mine! LOL!

Anyhoo...

Yes, our (Dis) Trick or Treat will be held on Halloween (Sunday Key West) at
11:00. We decided to do our own ToT because the official Disney one last year was held in the middle of the afternoon on a port day (again Key West). Since we anticipated so many of us wanting to be ashore during that time, we came up with the alternate ToT thrown by us.:) (That's the one at 11:00) We can't really say for sure what DCL will do this year. We are only assuming based on years past that once again it will be held while we are ashore.

Hope that clears that up a bit. To see some of the events and times DCL held last year click here (http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=29963734&postcount=140)!

Hope that helps!! :goodvibes

Hey gang, when looking for Navigators I found the ones for the Halloween Cruise in 2008 as well.

In regards to the "official" DCL Trick-or-Treat, I'd say we can be fairly sure they won't stray too far from these plans. Strikingly similar to 2009...so my money is 2010 won't be much different.

On this cruise (although a Thursday, strangely Halloween was celebrated again on Key West day, they had a weird itinerary with CC on Friday which was actual Halloween :confused3)

Check it out:

He he, that would be great! I already got the quote back. It was a little bit higher than I was expecting- due to one thing I forgot- SALES TAX! I am completing a draft of the name tag to paste on top of the proof so you can all see what the final product should look like! Even with tax and a good sized buffer they should not be over $2.50/ea..decent I think.

Oops you are both correct, 31 families,

Couples 31
Adult Singles 3 (includes 1 19yr old)
Children 0 to 3yrs = 2 Girls, 5 boys
Children 4 - 12yrs = 27 Girls, 10 Boys
Teens 13 - 17yrs = 5 Girls, 5 Boys

Whoo Hoo! I just went through my list and came up with the same numbers :woohoo:.

I created a Word document (which is a big table with the cabin number, board name, real names, sex and ages and then a space for what gift I'm giving).

I know a lot of people prefer excel but I am a Word girl - I'd rather put a table in Word than words in excel.

OK gang..this is a really quickly made fairly crude tag example. I will spend a lot more time on it when I actually make the real tags. The black border for example won't be so thick. But I'm excited to share it so here is the general idea:

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/nenner1/proof.png

And for those who are curious here is the quote:

CUSTOM LANYARD DETAILS
100 Printed Polyester lanyards
Base Price: $1.72 each
Width: 1/2"
Length: 36"
Double-Sided Design: Yes ($0.05 per lanyard)
Thickness: Standard - 0.60mm
Lanyard color: Orange 021 C (Orange)
Design color: Black
Attachments & Options:
- Metal, J-Hook
- Badge Holder, Index Card size - Vertical (5x3) ($0.20 each)
Sub-Total: $197.00
GRAND TOTAL: $197.00
(Sales tax will be added during checkout if we will be shipping to Florida.)

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Quote Includes:
FREE Express Shipping
Production & Delivery Time: 7 to 10 Days

So here is my Dis Math:

Grand total with 7% FL sales tax: $210.79

Total with $59.21 "Buffer": $270.00

Current price each (count at 93) $2.90 USD

What do you all think?

Jen,
LOVE IT!!!! I think you should round the price up to $2.75 or an even steven $3.00. It is much easier to work with quarters or dollars than cents and the leftover can go to the TOT or for materials needed for something else related to our Dis group.

LOL Beth I wasn't quick enough. I have already upped the buffer and changed it when Ron & I began discussing how much ink printing 93 tags would consume. Our cartridges cost $36, so I wanted to make sure there was enough to purchase one set.

Of course I was originally not counting that in the quotes. I am certainly open to discussion on that (rounding and buffer size). :goodvibes

The lanyards look great!

I'm still working to get some planning together for this cruise. I've signed up for lanyards, Palo brunch and the FE exchange. However, I still need to look into the ToT thing (I suspect my DS11 would want to do that, but he won't be home until Sunday for me to ask him) and I haven't even thought of magnets or T-shirts yet.

I also haven't planned anything for the ports yet - although we have been to all of them before, so we may just take things really easy this cruise.

We've been to Key West twice - first time we visited a wonderful garden and the second time we went to the Pirate museum. We've been to Cozumel twice (with DCL + once years ago with Carnival) and we've been to Grand Cayman (once with DCL and once with Carnival.) At both Cozumel and Grand Cayman we snorkeled - we enjoy that, but may do something else this time just to be different.

We want our first names on our so we will know who we are at all times. (Janet and Lois) I find that having first names really help me learn who my Dis buddies are as we cruise together but understand why some may be concerned with wearing their names.
Happy planning, Lois

Hey gang, when looking for Navigators I found the ones for the Halloween Cruise in 2008 as well.

On this cruise (although a Thursday, strangely Halloween was celebrated again on Key West day, they had a weird itinerary with CC on Friday which was actual Halloween :confused3)

I was on this cruise in 2008!! We didn't get rain, but the wind & waves were crazy!! Every one of our excursions were cancelled! We were scheduled for Grand Cayman but they couldn't tender, so they switched that day to "at sea" and made the next day, Thursday (which was originally an at sea day) - Key West! I'm not sure if those plans than switched "DCL TOT" or not (as we weren't participating). Just in case I have now made some of you worry about possible conditions, we still had a very MAGICAL vacation - and obviously - rebooked the same week again!

OK gang..this is a really quickly made fairly crude tag example. I will spend a lot more time on it when I actually make the real tags. The black border for example won't be so thick. But I'm excited to share it so here is the general idea:

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/nenner1/proof.png

And for those who are curious here is the quote:

CUSTOM LANYARD DETAILS
100 Printed Polyester lanyards
Base Price: $1.72 each
Width: 1/2"
Length: 36"
Double-Sided Design: Yes ($0.05 per lanyard)
Thickness: Standard - 0.60mm
Lanyard color: Orange 021 C (Orange)
Design color: Black
Attachments & Options:
- Metal, J-Hook
- Badge Holder, Index Card size - Vertical (5x3) ($0.20 each)
Sub-Total: $197.00
GRAND TOTAL: $197.00
(Sales tax will be added during checkout if we will be shipping to Florida.)

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Quote Includes:
FREE Express Shipping
Production & Delivery Time: 7 to 10 Days

So here is my Dis Math:

Grand total with 7% FL sales tax: $210.79

Total with $59.21 "Buffer": $270.00

Current price each (count at 93) $2.90 USD

What do you all think?

Wow ! these are amazing ::yes::

I only joined this thread this week, so am I too late to order 2 lanyards ? (one for me ~ Mandy, and my hubby ~ Paul)

Sure! Can you please pm me with your email address?

PrincessTrisha sent me her word document, so I'm all set. Thanks though!

I may reconsider our names on the tags. Generally, I don't like everyone to know my daughter's name, but it may be easier. Then again, everyone will know that the ones without the names are us :lmao:

In 2008, at dinner, each restaurant had a Halloween Display as you first walked in. I'm thinking it was Disney carved pumpkins and such . . . but there was also mounds and mounds of candy! Perhaps, you want to bring goody bags for your kids and let them know ahead of time how many pieces they can each take - it also might be a good alternate plan if the two TOT events do not work for your plans . . .

I also remember that when we were leaving after dinner, there was very very little candy left - so - I would reccomend letting them make their choices before dinner. . . however. . . I am traveling without children. . . :thumbsup2

I realize how ridiculous this sounds coming from someone who's screen name is "MorgansMom," but I meant I don't usually put her name on things she wears or carries, like backpacks, etc. ;)

Jen, I would like our names on the badges. (Judy, Martyn (yes it's spelt with a "Y"), Daniel and Tim) and my dis name underneath. Thanks!

I would love a copy of the Word Document too. I like the spread sheet, but I would like the word one too as my backup to take with me. :)

I dont' think that ridiculous. Would I have names on shirts or badges in WDW, no. But on the cruise ship I do feel more confident, and figure I'm always speaking their names in public anyway.
Each parent has their own level of comfortableness with this, and there's nothing wrong with doing it or not doing it. So I say, don't base your decision on what others are doing, go with what you are comfortable with :)

Hello All, Finally starting to get ready
Wow, been awhile since I posted, have had a busy summer so far.. Paid off the trip in full now the girls are counting down. I think its the first time they actually are looking forward to going back to school. They know once the get back in school it will only be about 7 weeks until we leave.

I want to thank everyone here, I learned much more on this thread then any other and boy have I researched. Since it will be our first cruise I want to make it special for the wife and girls. Girls have been going out buying outfits and dresses for dinner, wifey starting finally shopping for herself.. Me well I will be last minute shopper.. Been watching my weight down 40 lbs wanna drop another 20-30 more before the cruise so I will shop at the last minute and drive her nuts..

Its funny with the 2 year old, we live in Woodbridge NJ, which is in the Newark Airport flight path and every time she sees a plane she says its going to see Mickey Mouse Boat and Goofy is driving the boat.

I do have a quick inquiry, we are flying in to Orlando from JFK NY ( Prices from Newark were double the price... I think they know all the NJ Kids are off from school the first week in November) on Friday the 29th and staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We will not be going in the parks - too much in one day for the little one - but we will be taking a bus to epcot then the Monorail to WDW just for her to see the castle. I want to go to Downtown Disney for Dinner any recommendations... There will be 6 adults and 1 2year old...BTW the babies Godparents booked and are going with us, nice surprise...

Well let me know of a nice place to eat in Downtown Disney..

Have you all seen the post on the main board as of this morning about a rescue at sea early this morning?

"Disney Magic rescues 18 lost at sea!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm onboard the Magic right now and Captian John came on at about noon today and announced that at 3:45am this morning, the Magic rec'd a SOS call stating that a nearby ship heard screams in the water. The ship then commenced rescue operations and found 18 Algierians who had been lost at sea for 4-5 days. They are onboard now and are recieving food and water and healthcare. WOW! "

I just saw that! Amazing! And how life can go from the lowest of the low to pretty much up there when you are lost at sea, and the Disney Magic turns up to save you. That is pixie dust by the cruise liner load! I know it must have been awful and terrifying experience though, I don't mean to sound light hearted about it, but you think of all those yucky cargo ships out there....I hope they are all ok now :goodvibes

Of course not! Please feel free. I made them to share. The DIS member on board one has been around since around 2006/2007 so there are probably a lot of DIS folks out there with it by now.

If anyone needs help putting together images for magnets or T-shirts, I'd be happy to help. A few years back I used to help out at the Dis Designs forum (back when it was first starting up) but I've been away from that area so long I don't even know if it is still going or not.

I m jealous you lost weight!hahah. I gained all mine back from working 60hour weeks :scared1:. When you drive for a living and work long hours, its so easy to just dive into a location to eat popcorn:: and then keep moving. That being said, I hope to lose about 30lbs be the trip.. if work will stop using me soon.

I also agree with Fultons (but I LOVE seafood). One thing to keep in mind, you can make an ADR still and it would probably work out pretty good. Check the menus and see what your taste may be, then enjoy. :)

I luv Seafood but I am the only one in my group, where can I look up a menu for it...

I am also hoping that most adults will opt for Dis Name and real name - it is so hard to match/learn names and any help is a good thing! (I'm very, very bad at putting names to faces!)

My DH won't wear a lanyard, so I am only getting them for me and DS11 - My name is Pamela and DS is Darrah. Since his name is odd, most people pronounce it wrong and at 11 he is old enough to know better than to just walk up to someone he doesn't know. I certainly understand the concern with young children who don't understand that yet!

I have spent years now teaching him about being safe. When he was still an infant I saw a show (I think it may have been Oprah during my maternity leave) where they were talking about the problem that kids don't understand what we mean when we say "stranger". They showed studies and examples where they showed kids photos or even did it with live people. The kids understood that family and people they knew well were not strangers, but they also said that the mailman, UPS guy, the cashier at the local store, etc were not strangers. Even worse, most of them also would say that a well dressed, nice looking person they had never seen before was NOT a stranger. In their minds "strangers" were like monsters and only people they didn't know who looked a little scary (ie messy clothes, long, messy hair, maybe tattoos) fit the description. There was also discussion that if your child is taught to be afraid of ALL people they don't know well and then gets lost in a store or something, they have no idea what to do. Is it OK to ask for help? Who should they ask? etc. I have worked with my son more with the idea of watching out for people who act oddly - if the milkman says hi as he is walking back to his truck, it is OK to say hi back. If the milkman shows up in a regular car on the weekend and wants you to come talk to him -run!

Just one more thought on the DIS name/real name thing. Although we all get to know each other by our DIS names - most of the them are really, really, REALLY weird to use in person :) A couple months ago I went to a meet up with some other internet friends (not DIS, we're fans of a musician and met at a concert) and it was only for a single day. We decided to not bother to learn real names and just use our "board' names for the day. It was almost surreal trying to call people by the names they used online! (I was relatively lucky as I just use my initials there, so not as strange as some of the others. :lmao:) However, if we had tried to use "real" names, none of us would have known who the others were since the board names are what we know. Over the course of a cruise it is easier to learn the real name that goes with the board name - but I can use all the help I can get, so nametags are GREAT :thumbsup2

As the parents of a single - who went through a lot to have her - we're the first ones to admit that we are overprotective. I think it's for good reason (especially after reading The Lovely Bones last week).

I totally understand, I have read that too. We are not helped by the fact both DH and I work in criminal law, so we see a lot of the bad side of life :sad2: Once you are aware of the kind of things that go on this world, you become very protective. It's a hard balance between letting children enjoy their innocence and protecting them from the dangers that are sadly around all of us.

Aaah..OK! I was wondering why that seemed so strange! :goodvibes That was only a few weeks after our last Magic cruise (also a DD) so I was familiar with that itinerary. :thumbsup2

Hi sarge, good to see you on again!:goodvibes Sounds like great plans. As far as restaurants in DTD we have mostly eaten at T-Rex and Earl of Sandwich when we are there. I would love to try Raglan Road one day, have heard the food is great!!! No matter where you eat though, dessert at Ghiardelli is a must do! Or at least a hot chocolate! :)

I know most folks probably know this little tidbit, but the store portion of Ghiardelli's offers a free chocolate square sample just for going inside! :thumbsup2

OK everyone, as much as I would hate to disappoint anyone, I will have to put a strict limit on the Lanyard Signup.

I will be able to accept signups and quantity changes until

SUNDAY AUGUST 8

This is necessary to allow everyone a reasonable amount of time to get payment to me and yet still give me enough time to be able to create the tags and assemble the lanyards.

We have soared from participation in the 60's to well over 100 in just a few short weeks, which is wonderful, but will also require a greater amount of preparation time.

It also means we will no longer have an excess of lanyards.

This weekend participants will receive a CONFIRMATION PM from me. If you want to participate you MUST return this PM to me and confirm you will be able to participate. Failure to do so may result in removal from the participation list!

After I receive the confirmation PM's back I will begin the process of sending out invoices with amount due and payment information. I will allow what should be ample opportunity to receive payment, but there will be a strict deadline for that as well. I will need to receive all payments by

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 5

This is very important as I will need to make sure I have enough time to make and receive the order, then create and assemble the tags. Nearly doubling the quantity over the past few weeks has made these time constraints more difficult, so it will be necessary for me to stick to these dates!

I am very accommodating and will try to do all I can to assist everyone in this procedure but it will be necessary to hold to some strict guidelines to ensure things run smoothly. I hope you all understand and as always I sincerely appreciate your support and assistance.

Please, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! I am on the boards daily (usually multiple times daily). You can also email me nenner1 at yahoo dotcom.

Thank you all so much for your participation, support, and assistance in this matter. I hope you all will love your lanyards!

:) Jen

Counting my blessings today. Had quite the scare! Our nebours tree grows branches lickity split. Every year we are chopping off yet another few branches. They are either hanging over our drive way, low enough to be rubbing against our vehicles, or like this summer, sweeping across our roof and bedroom window, blocking our view. Unbeknowist to me today, DH decided to climb up onto our roof to saw off those branches. Our roof is two teared. The first part overhangs our front porch, and is the roof over the garage. Our room is above the garage, with the main roof above that. DH used a ladder to climb up to the first part, but he need to get up to the main roof to get the branches. I was in the house working on video editing, when I heard what at first I thought was another earth quake. A loud bang and then the rumbling and shaking of the house. But then it stopped just a quick as it started. It was too quiet. I ran outside and found a ton of those tree branches lying on our front lawn, and then DH sitting on the first tear, looking shook up. :scared1: He had FALLEN off the higher roof! :scared1::scared1: I helped with the ladder and he got down from there safely, but he has a very swollen sprained hand, and quite the scraped up leg. He's all fine now, peacefully watching a moive with DS7. So why am I still nervous and shaking? Oh my!

Oh my!

 Judy, I'm so glad he's ok!

Jen,

I just PM'd you on a change in number of lanyards... (I would like more) the design is awesome! THANK YOU for doing this!
:cool1:
Since I am buying for others, can we do inserts with no names? I don't know who will have to have one!:goodvibes

Thanks
Kristen

Ah, Kristen, I sent you a reply email with some questions since I didn't see this first. :)

I'd be happy to do the inserts with no names. I can make the extras that way (and have the names on your 3) or I can make them all that way. Just let me know what you'd like and I'd be happy to create them! :)
(and if it's 6 or 8 total) LOL! :rotfl:

Judy OMG! How scary!! I'm so glad your DH is okay!!!

I'd still be shaking too, because that's just plain terrifying! I'm glad he is o.k.

I hate it when my DH goes up on our roof to clean the gutters.

Just reading this made me scared. It is funny the way men in general seem to think they are indestructable. My son does the same thing and scares me half to death. It is like they get stuck in the teens and never grow up. I am happy he is OK and no major harm was done. Keeping him and you in my thoughts till he is healed.

Thanks everyone. I'll probably have a nightmare tonight about that! The good news is, two doors down from us, the people there put a Bathroom sink at their curb with a sign on it saying "NEW, and FREE". It was white, and we've been wanting to redo our bathrooms. I went and knocked on their door and ended up chatting with both couples there for a bit. We've been in this house for almost 4 years and I've never met this couple before. Well now we know each other and her DH mentioned the pile of branches on our front lawn. So I told them about DH's Adventure. Then the guy there, went into his garage and came out with this POLE, that is for trimming branches. It's got a clipper at the end, and it extends up to the 2nd story of a home. So he went over to my house and trimmed up the rest of the branches brushing up against the side of the house. WOW, How awesome was that? I thanked them profusely,
And now I've got a brand new sink! (It belonged to her dad who bought it a few months ago, but wouldn't fit on their vanity, and it was too much work for him to cut a bigger hole and find a doohicky to extend the water pipes below to reach the new facet space. Instead of taking it back to the store, he gave it to his daughter and told her to find a home for it). So now when Dh's hand is better, we can start renovating our main floor powder room! :)
Something good always comes out of something bad :) How awesome is that!!

So glad every thing turned out ok.

I am laying in bed with a bad self inflicted headache. We went to Via Napoli (new restaurant in Epcot's Italy pavilion) and I can personally attest to how great and how potent the Sangria is! The pizza was also good, but I believe I drank more than I ate!!
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

The sun is coming on another beautiful weekend at the shore. No rain but now that the extreme heat left us a few days ago it is great. :cool1:

I know i asked this a while back, but is anyone going to be scuba diving in GC? Vikki and I have decided that most of the ports we will just tour on our own. We have been to all those ports before. While I am diving she will take advantage of the spa port day specials.

We are still debating about adding more points. :confused3 I want Hawaii she wants BLT. I want to see what on-board point specials might be out there. Because next year we will only have about 15 points:eek:left. Between this cruise and the Alaska cruise in May, we do not have enough for the rest of the year. And a year with out 20 plus days in the magical place on earth will be tragic:worship:

well off to clean up from last night......

I purchased our Old Town Trolley tickets today online. The purchase was easy, only a couple of minutes, $90 for 3 adults and one child. At the end, you print out your confirmation, you also recieve an email with a link to the same confirmation which you can reprint in case you lose the first one.

During the purchase there is a place to add a coupon code. Just for fun I searched a little bit for code to use, but had no luck.

I did find a printable coupon that can't be used online, but if you dont' mind waiting to purchase your tickets when you get to KW the coupon is a pretty good deal.

Basically for each paid adult you get a free child ticket (4 - 12) which is a $14 value.

The Conch Train has a similar deal, all promotions can be found at the Key West Chamber of Commerce (http://www.keywestchamber.org/coupons/keywestdiscountactivities.aspx) website.

I don't know. It says the Flight Info is actually an optional form to fill out. And the form can be edited at any time, so its not set in stone.

Wondering if Kristieuk had filled out her forms before getting her Cat. 6 GTY assignment a few weeks ago.....if so, we all may be on to something!

Well now, I'm not sure - I know some of the online check-in information only opened up at our 90 day mark, but I am pretty sure the flight information could be completed before that time. I am wracking my brain to think when I filled the flight info in, I am sure it was a while back and before the 90 days. They have been booked since last year, so I would have filled it in as soon as I noticed it was required..We got our GTY assignment in about May, it could well have been the trigger. I wish I had paid more attention to whether there was any link now!

It's an interesting thought - good luck everyone still awaiting assignments :wizard:

Why don't you give them a call . . .

How is Martyn doing?

I think I can wait a little longer. I'll mention it to my TA. I would love to know which room though, hmmmm.

As for the DH? As of yesterday his back and leg were really hurting (muscles), which is understandable, after a fall like that. He stayed home from work yesterday, and is home again today. He still has not seen a doctor, errrgghhhh!

On another note, I took my van into the mechanic yesterday for two minor fixes, and two estimates. The digital dashboard light doesn't work, so we can't read the mileage or oil level, so a replacement light or fuse is needed. The reset button for that digital dashboard is broken, so that needs to be fixed. The lift gate hydraulic system broke while in Florida last fall, and I know THAT will be costly to fix so I've finally got it there to get an estimate on that (we can still use it, we just have to hold that heavy lift gate open ourselves). The BIG worry though is the creaking noise that comes from the whole front end, especially when breaking. It seems to have to do with the suspension and DH thinks it's the ball joints or something like that. And he seems to think that is around $800.00 to fix, and to the 2 minor things, we could well be looking at a $1000.00 job right now. :scared1: That could dampen my spending moula for this trip, ....... But if it's an issue with the suspension, thats kind of a necessity to get fixed, especially since we are driving to FL for this trip. Maybe, we'll rent a vehicle??????

People are going to see our doors and FE's and think we are all together or something.

Oh wait. We kind of sort of are! :grouphug:

Well, eyes4mickey has stateroom 6110 and since our ressies are linked, I think we might be put close to there? Does seem like a lot are close together though, and to me THAT is a blessing for delivering the FE'S!

Also, DH DID go to the doctor today and is now off on short term disability because of that fall off the roof. At least now we know he'll still get an income for this week! Thats kinda important. :)

It would be great if you are close to us...then you can admire my beautiful FE when you walk past it! ;)

I'm glad to hear that DH is o.k.!

Hey all the cool kids, its a good thing you are on the opposite side of the ship from the asylum. LOL.

Have to say I feel just a tad bit sorry for those in 6130 and 6134..and 6131/6135...just sayin'

That's an assignment you DON'T want to get! :rotfl2:

Thank you for the kind, kind offer to visit you guys on 6 :crowded: however....................

We are in 7636 - if you look on the stateroom plans you'll notice it has a large extended balcony (it's an accesible cabin) so perhaps, I'll let YOU visit ME :love1:

Maybe I'll have a party out there.......

Now that is a really good idea! The occupants of #7054 will come skipping down the hall to be a part of that!

No room assignment yet here. I'm afraid to put in my flight info as I am not sure I want my cabin assignment yet. I'm hoping for an upgrade, so we will see.

School started last yesterday for my dd freshman, tomorrow for my dd 4th grader. I don't post often, but try to keep up. You guys are a lot of fun to keep up with ;)

I know what you mean about work using you, mine does too... But bringing a lunch (healthy) not only helps but boy I can save more money for the trip!!!!

I luv Seafood but I am the only one in my group, where can I look up a menu for it...

Sorry it took so long. Work has been ruthless.

The Menus can be found here

Read, drink (a beer I suggest), and ponder!
