Confused on West Nile - Can you RECOVER?

I'm wondering, if our children come down with this West Nile Virus, can you recover from it? Is there any "cure" ? I've not found much info on it, and I figured I'd come to where the people know the most and that's HERE!

Yes, you can recover. The most at risk are very young children and the elderly.

From what I've heard, they can't cure the infection but they can help a person fight it. That's why it's hardest on the very young children and the elderly. They have to be able to survive the effects (fever etc.)

I've heard that a lot of people that contract the virus don't even realize it since it mimics the symptoms of a slight flu bug.

There has been an epidemic surrounding the mall that I work at. (Over 30 infected dead infected birds found before the city stopped coming out to pick them up) so I have been swatting anything that looks remotely like a mosquito..lol

yes, you can most definately recover. and like meanlaureen said, often people get it and don't even know. the fatality rate for people who contract it is quite low.

Here is some more information. With the incidence in the Chicago area quite high this past month, the Chicago Dept of Health has put out this information. I do hear, with every broadcast on TV, radio or news article, the same as stated above...'people get it and don't even know. The fatality rate for people who contract it is quite low'
