...filling out the cruise docs. for our three-peat on the Wonder, which starts in a week. There is a page that asks how many previous cruises you have been on, if you have sailed the Magic or Wonder before, how many times, and the date of your last cruise. So my answers are as follows:
8/29 cruise:

# of previous cruises: 27 Sailed on Magic or Wonder Before: Yes, 23 times Date of last cruise: 7/4/02

9/1 cruise:
# of previous cruises: 28 Sailed on Magic or Wonder Before: Yes, 24 times Date of last cruise: 8/29/02

9/5 cruise:
# of previous cruises: 29 Sailed on Magic or Wonder Before: Yes, 25 times Date of last cruise: 9/1/02

I wonder if whoever reads that doc. will do a doubletake!

Oh, you are probably so well known with DCL ("<I>Here they come again</I>!") that they'll hardly blink an eye! Just remember to have them announce you as "<I>inkkognito</I>." :teeth:

I sure do envy you. It's going to be SO WONDERful! :earseek:

I find that after the 3rd or 4th, maybe 5th time on a particular vacation it seems to lose it's luster. Certainly the wonderment of what is to come has disappeared, since you know precisely what that will be. It seems to me that the anticipation of what you are about to encounter is half the excitement! So I just have to ask:

Is a 24th Disney cruise REALLY all that exciting??

We have 'mapped out' our desired scenario for the years ahead, and we expect to be on DCL for the next 3-4 years, which would mean a total of probably 5 DCL cruises. After that, the kids will be too old, and we feel as if we'll be thinking "Been there, done that". That's already the case with NCL after just 3 cruises. We're really in no hurry to go back on NCL again. Within 4 years we expect to look towards Moorea or other exotic escapes!

So tell us, how do you keep the magic of Disney alive, cruise after cruise, same ships, same ports, same restaurants, etc??

Thanks!!

Beano,
The experience has changed somewhat for us...now it's the enjoyment of going to a familiar place with lots of people we know. I guess I could compare it to going to a weekend cottage. It's the same place, with the same things to do and lots of friends. I can't imagine that we'll ever get tired of it...we are booked for Nov. and then 8 more in 2003!

Barb,
Not meaning to pry, but are you guys independently wealthy, or what??? I can't imagine being able to afford that many vacations at all, much less each one a cruise! Yes, I'm envious!

And to Beano, we get ribbed all the time for constantly going to WDW so often. We honeymooned there 21 years ago and have lived in Orlando and now in Tampa for the past 12 years, and we NEVER get tired of it. We feel as Barb does -- it's familiar and it's like going "home" to our own little vacation spot. I also feel like they could just go out to sea for 7 days, no ports, just CC, and we'd be completely happy!

Happy sailing everyone!:p

Have fun all of you lucky ducks! We're ramping into fall school activities with kids, which have their own appeal, but don't get to do any Disney until June 2003. First year I haven't done something with at least part of the family in 6 years and it feels really! weird.

WDW is a nice "home away from home." With annual passes and free parking, I've been known to go just for a great meal at one of the restaurants... of course, I don't leave right away, I take in the atmosphere for a few hours too!

Hey Barb & Tony.....have a GREAT 3peat CRUISE!! Still wish you were going on the 2/1 - 7 day Western with us!! :) One question? It's probably all ready been asked but here goes....are you in the same cabin for all 3 and do you have to disembark each time? Enjoy and happy cruisin ;)

have a GREAT time!!!

i am totally jealous of both the 3-peat cruise and Katie's WDW trip..

as for doing the same thing over and over..

we've gone to WDW every year since 1973....for 3 weeks every summer...
and even though my kids are now 18 and 15, WDW is the ONLY place in the world they're willing to go (and rest assured i've offered them the world)...

besides , if truth be told, it's MY favorite place on earth as well....

and i'm not at all embarssed to admit it...

maybe one day i'll convince my husband to move to WDW....the castle looks big enough...don't you think?..

Yes, we will be in the same stateroom for all three cruises, and hopefully we won't have to disembark in between (that depends on customs regulations, which can change at any time).
I sure wish we were independently wealthy...then we would NEVER get off the ship! We just work a lot of hours...we work hard & play hard :teeth: :teeth:

Hey Barb...why doesn't Disney just get smart and send your docs with all the blanks already filled in. Since it is you guys, and they know where you are staying, and they know what you are going to do on your trip, they know how you are paying, they know what you look like so there is no need to remind you about your identification....Your docs should just say, SIGN HERE.

Actually all DCL paperwork should just say, TO EVERYONE EXCEPT TONY & BARB: blah blah blah

Have a great three-peat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WANNA BE BARB & TONY WHEN I GROW UP!!!!

Doesn't matter. As a Disney shareholder, I am happy that there are folks who find pleasure in dropping $1000, $2000, or $3000 for the product being offered so frequently.

Likewise, though I find great satisfaction with our measely 150 point DVC membership (we have lives/vacations not with Disney) and find no need for more, I am happy that there are folks who get excitement over how many times they can post that they've bought another add-on at the new resort and are pushing 500 or 1000 total points and go to Disney every month.

SlyHubby...
tsk tsk....your attitude is showing...
why does it bother you if i'm a total sap who enjoys being with my kids 24 hours a day and is thrilled to be together with them in their favorite place on earth (WDW...and now the disney ships as well)...
there are other people who love to do other things and that's great...
different strokes and all that...

It doesn't bother me (I don't quite know how you figured that it did) in the least. In fact, if you re-read what I posted, you will see that it says I'm happy (as I'm quite sure Mr. Eisner is) that there are folks like yourself.

SlyHubby...
well then i should apologize to you because when i read your post it looked to me as if it was DRIPPING sarcasm....
in any case, the DCL cruises are downright bargain basement compared to some of the other cruiselines i've checked into...
(as i noted in another post...for the same stateroom we had, we would have to pay $26,000 on the QM2 - just for my husband and me - ....but don't tell michael that...)

Our November cruise is Thanksgiving weekend...the Wonder at Thanksgiving has become an annual tradition for us (made even better by the fact that it doesn't require the use of any vacation days!).
