Hmmm, decisions, decisions.
The company I work for has satellite offices/warehouses all over the country. We had a VERY successful warehouse sale here in MA in June, and I was one of the MIS staffers onsite to to support. Well, it was so successful, they are doing 3 more. I will have to travel to one of them. Just outside Philadelphia (King of Prussia, PA), Chicago-land, or Atlanta. I think I get first pick at where I want to go.
Atlanta would be early October
Pennsylvania and Chicago would be mid-late Sept.
I've never been to any of these places, and would probably have one day off.
Suggestions
Of course the obvious, if I go to Chicago, I do stand a chance of meeting Dan Murphy. :D

Well Philadelphia is an awesome city in general, but the fact that you'll be in King of Prussa is even better, because they have the 2nd (or 3rd, not sure) biggest mall in the US. It's absolutely incredible- and of course, they have a Disney Store, along with any other store you can think of! Of course you can shop at home with some of the same stores, but they also have lots of other great stores I haven't seen anywhere else.I haven't been to the other two places but I live near Philadelphia so that's the obvious pick for me! Hope this helps! :)

I have lived in all 3 cities. I would pick, as a visitor, Chicago. Lots to do, beautiful city. My second choice would be Philadelphia because I would also want to go to the mall at King of Prussia.;) KofP is 20-30 minutes form downtown Philly depending on traffic. My last choice would be Atlanta, even though I live here. It's a great place to live, and my favorite of the 3 cities for quality of life. However, there is not much for visitors to do.
Where in King of Prussia?
My office if a few minutes from K of P.

I'd want to meet Dan;)
But I live near Philly and live at KOPM most weekends too, so you can probably count my vote out. :p

Debbie and CBR, you two are too funny. :)
I vote Chicago, then I can maybe meet YOU. And Chicago is a very pretty city. If you have not seen the pictures I posted some time back when helenabear was here, take a look at this thread. Hope to see you, Debbie.

Hope you don't get the dreaded red x if you look. (bandwidth concerns)

RATS!! The dreaded red X .
I do remember this thread from when you posted it originally. I am actually leaning towards the Chicago trip because of how the dates will work out.
We'll see what happens.
C'mon, I KNOW there are more of you out there from all three of these places!
I would say Chicago...there is so much to do and see, and so many cool DISers there!!! I went twice this year and I loved it...had a blast and am sure going to return again next year!!!
Hands down my choice!

If you have not been to Chicago, that would be the best choice among the three IMHO. Lots to do in very close proximity and it is pretty easy to get around.

I say Chicago, but for selfish reasons. :p I say go to Chicago this year, so that in case you get to pick Philly next year, I'll be able to meet with you! LOL!! I can't this year because of stupid school. :( But, next year would be so much fun!!! :) :)
So, my vote is for Chicago. LOL!! Well, plus there's Dan, Marie and double decker pizza. ;)

LOL! But does Robinrs have ATLANTA????? :p
I would choose Chicago, hands down! I've only been there once but I enjoyed every minute there. As for Atlanta... it's too spread out, too busy and the traffic is abysmal!

Philadelphia! This area is so nice, especially KoP. There is a lot do do around here, the Jersey shore is only about an hour and a half away. PHILLY where it all started!

I've been to all three. Atlanta as a tourist... yawn! Downtown, you have the Olympic park and CNN. Alright, you have the Underground, but I was late getting out of my conference and it was closing.
Philadelphia is awesome. You can do the touristy/history thing, or go to the museums. You can drink a yard at the Dickens Inn, or wander through the Italian Market. If you go there, definitely eat at Ralph's and take cash... they "no-a take-a the cards." Did you know that the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier is in Philadelphia? If you go, watch the original Rocky movie first. Of course, there's the mall. It is definately an "A" mall. We only have "D+" malls around Scranton.
Chicago is my first choice, though. I've been to Phillie tons of times, and Chicago only twice. If you get a weekday off, go to the Board of Trade... fascinating. You can stroll up the Magnificent Mile (tons of shopping) or ascend the Sears Tower. You can try for Oprah tickets, if you're so inclined. And, don't let me forget about the steaks that hang off of the plates and the football-size potatoes that they bake. No where else can you see Buckingham Fountain that was made famous at the beginning of Married, With Children. ha ha
Chicago is still in the lead, but you really can't miss with any of these choices.... then start bugging your company about setting up or changing shop in New Orleans....:smooth:

RobinRS--I am from Boston, I was raised on bad traffic and bad drivers lol :p
Dan--It does look like Chicago is in the lead, and that is actually the trip I am leaning towards. As long as the dates don't conflict with our Vegas trip!
Saffron--so sweet!!! I was thinking about meeting up with you as well. Next year for sure!!!!!
So no decision yet from the bigwigs. Hopefully tomorrow, then I can make plans on where to send DS for 3 days. DH works 3rd shift, and I think daycare would frown on leaving him on the doorstep at 2:30am!!! ;)
Although, this KoP mall sounds verrrryyyy intriguing hmmmm

Philadelphia. More specifically, KoP. I will not see the outside of the warehouse for 3 days, but hopefully will have an afternoon flight on Sunday, and can see a bit of that part of the world before I leave.
When I know my exact plans, maybe we can do a spur of the moment mini meet on Sunday?

goofygirl,
If I get any time, it will be Sunday Sept 15th, late morning-early afternoon. I have to wait and see what my travel plans are, and if I have a co-worker to drag along with me :p :p :p
