Right now I'm collecting Jim Shore Disney statues and Precious Moments Disney statues. And every year we buy at least one Disney ornament. Since we've been going almost yearly since 1987, we've got a lot of ornaments. One we bought in 1987 was clear plastic, now it's more yellow than clear.

I have a bunch of disney ornaments for my christmas tree. Whenever my grandparents went to WDW (every year for over 10yrs straight) they'd buy my mom about 5-10 ornaments. Whenever she and my dad divorced and I moved out on my own she gave me the ornaments and I decorate my tree every year with disney (and slowly building my supply of firefighter stuff too!)
Being a fireman I try to collect anything Disney firefighter too:cool2:

My collection of Disney is a bit eclectic, I have many stuffed Mickey and Minnie, baby Disney from the kids nursery etc. Then I have ornaments both from Disney and locally. I have several anniversary clocks that are Disney and lots of Disney Christmas decorations, as well as a full shelf in my curio cabinet with glasses, statuettes etc. Not to forget pins, most from WDW. I have Disney in about every room in the house to incluse Disney shower curtain and hooks.
If I see something in Disney, I like it I buy it if I can afford it at the time.

My kitchen & dining room theme is old mickey mouse. My cabinets are white w/ black tops & I like the older look w/ it.
I've a mickey canister set & spoon rest. I've black & white mickey dishes & silverware & glassware.
On the top of my cabinets I've got old mickey pull toys & other cute mickey or disney stuff..mostly old toys.
I've a huge black cabinet in my dining room & in it are my nicer mickey treasures. I've collected them over the years..one from each trip or gifts. I've several lenox mickey ones..the tea party one & the rowboat.
I've several Jim Shore pcs. Also, my cream colored mickey & minnie from our first trip about 10 years ago. In here I display photos of our disney trips & other keepsakes.
I've old wood mickey blocks & stuff I've got off ebay.
I've a huge framed photo of pie-eyed mickey & minnie on my dining room wall. And my big statue of mickey & minnie walking in the park is on my refrig.
I love the look. Isn't immature looking like folks told me it would be when they heard I was going Mickey Mouse in my kitchen & dining. But it is classy looking & totally me!

I like the vintage Disneyland and Disneyworld stuff. Say from DL from 1955-until the 1980's and then from WDW from the early 70's through the early 90's. Most of it I have had to buy on b-bay. I have some pretty neat stuff (well I think it is neat). A .25 cent parking ticket to DL, a Guide to DL by Walt, some old maps of the park. From WDW I have pins, match books from the early hotels and well as vintage tins and plates. I have newer stuff from my visits over the years too. I like to keep some of the odd things, score cards from the mini golf, the auto autopia driver's license, monorail license, etc. I have two curios in my front hallway one dedicated to DLR and one to WDW. Of course there are at least 100 ornaments I have collected through the years. My favorite being a 3 party glass one of the monorail. It is always a "special ceremony" when it comes out and it is placed in on the tree in the center at eye level. I just love all things Disney! :yay:

What a fun topic! I love the vintage stuff too (I was born the same year that Disneyland opened!) I don't have a lot of vintage stuff (like my original ears :( ) but I do have some reproductions (esp through my D23 membership!) What do I collect now?? PINS!! As a collection, they're great - very easy to store and fun to collect. In front of my office, I have a Mickey shaped bulletin board and I do a different "display" of pins every few weeks. I also have quite a few Disney mugs and I'm starting to do ornaments too (I really want to do an all-Disney tree!) :santa: Oh, and even though I'm an old lady, I love the Disney racer cars and I have 6 of them!! :upsidedow - but I'll probably give them to my nephew!!

I collect the Disney Baby stuffed animals right now, as of now I only have 3, the two that I just bought off of craigslist and the dumbo one that I got in April.

I also collect odds and ends from each trip. Mugs, Napkins, Cups, I accidentally took a towel this past trip lol. I somehow left it with my dirty clothes and didn't look and threw the pile into the plastic bag and didn't realize until I got home. I refuse to wash it! I keep it in a box!

I wish it was easier to find Daisy, but when I do find a new one it makes it even more exciting. My husband is a Goofy fan and has a bookcase full of Goofys. My favorite animal is the lion, so I collect those in general. I have to get a plush one from DAK every time we go. Last year, we stayed at AKL and I bought a BEAUTIFUL beaded lion from the gift shop. I'll have to take a pic and share.

I collect 3 things from Disney. First (and my favorite!!!) are the 3" Vinylmations. I love collecting them & on our last trip started trading them as well...so much fun to trade in the Mystery Box at the resorts/gift shops!
I just recently starting collecting the plain Vinylmations so I can create my own designs inspired by the parks & resorts, which should be fun!
On every trip, I purchased a Christmas ornament at Downtown Disney and this year started collecting them for my son as well. I can usually get 2 of them for under $15 so thats a nice souvenir that is used each & every year at a good price!
I also buy a mug on every trip. I use them for coffee and also for pen holders on my desk at home & at work.

I tend to collect the "covert" Mickey stuff and display it around the house. So I have some framed prints of Epcot country buildings (like the Rose N Crown and the French restaurant). I also have some hidden mickey-type candle sconces, Pooh Lenox vase, etc. I like that they are VERY Disney but not "in your face" Disney. I always fear that people will walk into my house and see just how Disney crazed I am (like the girl in Dodgeball with her unicorn collection). So this way, I can be all Disney-fied AND dignified - haha.

My Mom, gave me almost 50 orniments she had purchsaed through a Disney club. They are from 1960-1970. They are nice, but very fragile. I only use a few of the stronger ones each year at Christmas.

Oooooh, what are those little dolls called? They are so cute! I used to gather a bunch of stuffed animals. I had to stop and give a lot away when I ran out of room and then when I moved to college, but some of those are just too cute to pass up! How have I missed this?!
I intended to collect the round Winnie the Pooh dolls, but then Tigger's face scared me for some reason... So I have Pooh and Eeyore, and I may look for a Piglet if I can reconcile myself with Tigger. Yup, I've got a thing about stuffed animal faces. I must have been scarred by some movie or show I can't remember. That's what I get for trying to be a "big girl" when I was young.
We idly collect pins-- nothing serious, but whatever is cute and catches our eye. And ornaments... we've just started, and settled on getting one that represents our trip once per trip. Soon we'll have enough so our tree actually looks full! I'm curious to see some of the ornaments others have collected, especially the vintage ones mentioned, if anyone has pictures or links.
Also, I love the hidden mickeys in the home idea! Sometimes I wish I could buy the hotel room furniture so I'll have a little bit of hidden mickey magic all year long. And then I remember that I just spent all my money on my latest Disney vacation! I have a friend whose family's home does look like the unicorn girl from Dodgeball: Disney snowglobes cover almost every inch of standing shelf space and even line the tops of the cabinets in the kitchen! But I like the effect nonetheless, since it's very them. Plus it gives you something to look at no matter where you are.

Our house has Disney displayed in every room. Our kitchen is all Disney. We have the Mickey table and matching chairs. The canisters and spice jars from Lenox, the villains canister set, the thimbles hanging on the wall. Our cabinets have the Mickey knobs and our dinnerware is Mickey, Minnie, Donald,Daisy and Goofy. The glasses, mugs, cookie jars are all matching. Our three dog bowls, water bowls and place mats are with the Disney dogs. The bathroom is all Minnie with the shower curtain, rug wall boarder toilet mat and cover. We also had the matching Minnie blind made and the window curtains. Our tv room has the large Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Cruella Devil. I have two Mickey shelves that one holds the Lenox Villains and the other has statues. On our mantle we have the WDCC Villains. Christmas we only decorate in Disney. The entire tree ia all Disney ornaments with Snow White as the tre topper. The stockings are all a different character with the matching stocking holder. We have the animated figures on the side of the fireplace with all the holiday beanies and musicals. Our front porch has the porch greeters with Micey as Santa on our front door. Our wreaths are Mickey and Minny and the other Pooh and Tigger. My most treasured Disney item is my Seiko clock. It has 12 blocks and every other plays two Disney songs as the blocks open and show you a character and then every 1/2 hr rings.

I always get a magnet with the year on it for our fridge.
I now buy a mug during each trip. I like them to actual say a park name on it and not just Walt Disney World. I think my past two or three say Magic Kingdom on it.
I also try to pick up a Christmas ornament too.
There are many many more things I would love to get. I try to stay on a budget or I would bring home the whole store. :rotfl:

I pretty much only collect Star Wars stuff. I really only like the original 3 movies, so I really dont buy anything that pertains to the 'newer' star wars scene. I like pins to but not alot like some people. I try to always get one of the year I was there and another one that sticks out to me, IE star wars, retro disney or a limited/collectors pin.

I collect a snowglobe from every year that I go and pins from special events but the main thing are the Precious Moments. I was lucky enough to buy a ton when I was a CM and got the CM holiday 50% off. I try and buy at least one each trip.
Christmas ornamaents, it's a tradition I get a new one every year. And anything Tigger or Tinkerbell. I love my Tink keychain, it's Tink pouting with an attitude. I have Tiggers stuffed in various sizes, Tiggers that sing and play Christmas songs, Tigger pens and paper, Tigger drinkware and tumblers, and jammies as well as jewelery. Lots more too, and going to bring back a couple more pieces on my next trip, only a few days left to go!!!

I make my own collectibles, i.e. vintage-style posters. It's taken me a year to get around to recreating a single monorail poster, half a haunted house poster, and designing two originals, neither of which make me happy.
Now that's a slow, laborious collection hobby, let me tell you. I'd simply collect old posters, if I weren't a monumental cheapskate. I've never been able to shell out for the sake of collecting something, though I've always felt the lure of collecting.

I collect Walt Disney Classics Collection figurines. Started in the mid 1990's and have about 25 now. I only have one or two displayed at a time due to space limitations and I don't like clutter. Love them though!
I collect Disney DVDs. Just the ones that interest me. Which is most of them. :rotfl2: Have around 90 (animated classics, Treasures, live action films, etc...).
Unintentionally, I seem to also be collecting Disney plushes. I mean, how can you walk into a Disney gift shop and not want to take one home with you. Thus, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Tigger and Pooh are now inhabiting my home. I love walking into my home and seeing the Goofy sitting on my sofa giving me a big cheerful smile and welcome home.
I don't have any pins yet. But their shiny cuteness is calling me...

Gosh, my collection is sort of eclectic also. I have my ebay prizes: my vintage, working "it's a small world" jewelry box, my pewter Donald Duck milk mug, my Weebles' Mickey Clubhouse, my Happy 33rd Birthday pin, and my WDW 25th anniversary medallion. I'm always looking for more ebay treasures. I have pins, Figment stuff, & a few Christmas ornaments. I "collect" pictures. A friend asked me what I did at AK everytime, I said take pictures of the same animals I've taken pictures of each time I've gone. I have pictures of the porcupine (a personal favorite) from each visit. He's been my Facebook profile picture more than once. I collect wine glasses from the Food & Wine festival. I was disappointed that they were sold in pairs last year & that I'm not going to make it this year. I also keep my PassPorters. I think I have them from the past four years.

There is soooo... much Disney to collect. We have the first pin set, the special pin sets of the individual parks in the collectors frames, Disney Christmas decorations, and lots of assorted other Disney stuff. What this post made me realize was what we really collect is Disney memories! We have been going as a family since 1991 and have wonderful memories from each trip to WDW , Disneyland Paris, and DL. We will be collecting some new memories on our first DCL cruise in about a month. So what ever you collect, do not forget the memories that come with the collecting.

How do you do that? DS had to turn in his name tag when he left work at DL. Come to think of it, his name was spelled wrong, so he got an extra-I forgot that!

Pins, snow globes, small figurines. This year, I skipped the snow globe and got one of the Gallery of Light shadow boxes. It has a scene from Fantasia in it.

My passion is collecting the Walt Disney Classic Collection (WDCC) figurines. They can get quite pricey. Have found almost all of them on ebay. You tend to run out of room fast!

No one has mentioned the Potato Heads! You can dress them like the characters, or tourists with cameras, Mickey ice cream bars, and etc. Each year they come out with parts for new characters. You can buy a box full at WDW where you choose all the pieces. It's my favorite thing to buy when I am there!

My nephew is absolutely nuts about the pressed pennies, or was the last time or two we went. He's even more of a homebody than I am though and was kind of hoping to stay home this time.
I like The Lion King and Up. The Lion King comes closest to transcending the limits Disney seems to have imposed on itself in the way it made its animated films. As for Up, it's simply beautiful. Everything that went into making it (the animation, music, writing) compliment each other. Anything I collect will have a tendency toward those two films.
I also collect lithographs. Of course these can be gotten fairly easily. Just go to a Disney Store whenever one's available as a pre-order bonus.
I'm trying not to get into pin collecting as a whole because there's just so many. Still I will collect any that have to do with the aforementioned films, and any others that happen to have some special significance to me. It's hard to specify exactly what that would be, because it depends on what's happening in my life and/or at Disney at any given time. In the past I've collected resort and Christmas resort pins. I also have some that Disney gave at Magical Gatherings and any other special events the family and I have been to, like Disney Vacation Club presentations. I don't know what I'd do with every pin if I somehow managed to collect every one that Disney made or will make. I'm sure that's a problem more than a few people wouldn't mind having, though.

:rotfl::lmao:
We have a photo studio in our house, and I can't tell you how many times someone has walked in and been like, "You guys must really like Disney." Then they look around for a few more minutes, and they say, "Wow. You MUST really love Disney!" LOL. We are borderline to the unicorn chick.
We collect - pressed pennies on every trip, loads of pics - and they are up all over the house. My favorite is one of DH and I from our bridal session in front of the castle and it's poster sized in the living room. We have Mickey topiaries on the porch. We have a decent snow globe collection on the fireplace mantel - but these can get kinda pricey. Disney plates - a lot are from Lenox. Lenox figurines (again pricey - so I only have a few.) Stuffed animals and Classic Pooh.
The kids rooms were done in classic pooh when they were little and we have EVERYTHING you can think of. Curtains, sheets, animals, bathroom stuff, rugs, books, posters, banks, baskets, an entire alphabet, etc.
My husband has an entire room devoted to Star Wars. Seriously.
My latest is Disney jewelry. I have earrings, necklaces, watches, rings - and my favorite was a wedding ring that took me nearly 2 years to find.
I'll have to take pics of some of the stuff. I LOVE seeing everyone else's pics.
Here's my kids with a few of their animals:

I collect the buttons ... you know ... the ones you get at Guest Services. Each vacation warrants a new button or 2 :) I date them on the inside and what (if anything) I was celebrating.

Id love to see pictures of your disney house :)

We started collecting Disney dollars in 2008 and it was fun going from resort to resort to see what they had. Now they are getting much harder to find - always looking to add to our collection.

I collect Disney Dollars and I almost have the entire collection. They have note created new bills for this year (2010) and I've heard that they might stop printing them. That's too bad because it is a very nice collection and had lots of fun adding to my collection.
